Five stars doesn’t feel like enough- I highly recommend Charlie! My dog’s excitement level goes through the roof when I say Charlie’s name. Charlie’s responsible, caring, fun, and shows a genuine love in caring for animals. I feel a real sense of comfort having such a kind and attentive sitter for my dog! I’m truly grateful!

About: I’ve been around dogs for over a decade—starting with my family dog and now as the owner of a rescue dog of my own. Most of my experience has been with smaller dogs (25 lbs or less), but I’m comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments. I regularly walk my dog around Newton and Cold Spring Park, and I’m familiar with local dog parks (both fenced and off-leash). I prioritize safe, attentive walks and make sure each dog gets plenty of exercise, enrichment, and affection—whether that’s playtime, cuddles, or just keeping them company. I also have experience caring for senior dogs and administering oral medication, and I understand the importance of patience, consistency, and gentle care. As a Rover user myself, I know how important trust and communication are. I provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident and connected while your pet is in my care. I’m a great fit for busy working professionals and families who need reliable, thoughtful support, as well as for senior dogs or lower-energy pets who benefit from a calm, consistent environment. To ensure the highest level of attention and comfort, I care for one dog or cat at a time. I work from home most days, so pet care fits naturally into my routine. I’m available for drop-in visits or walks around lunchtime, and again in the late afternoon and evening after the kids are done with school or camp. I enjoy building time into my day to give pets the attention, consistency, and care they need—and making sure they feel comfortable and well cared for while you’re away. I approach pet care with a strong focus on safety, consistency, and trust. I always take the time to learn each pet’s routine, preferences, and any specific needs so I can provide care that feels familiar and comfortable for them. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of your space and follow all instructions closely—whether that’s feeding schedules, walking routines, medications, or favorite activities. I’m attentive on walks (leash safety, awareness of surroundings) and make sure pets are secure at all times. In my home, pets are cared for in a calm, clean, and supervised environment. I’m mindful of creating a safe space and ensuring pets feel at ease. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident your pet is happy and well cared for.

Emily was absolutely wonderful! I had to find a last minute sitter for my 8 months old puppy and she was so accommodating and flexible. She was willing to connect beforehand to make sure all details were set, which made me feel extra comfortable. She was timely and so attentive to Loon, and shared updates and photos along the way. She was truly so great. We will definitely be going to Emily first when we need help in the future!

About: I’ve had dogs since I was 13. I love taking care of all types of dogs! I’m very active, and love playing and going on runs with my dogs. I’m currently in college, at the National Circus School in Montreal, so I’m looking to take care of dogs throughout this summer. I will happily take care of dogs in your home, playing with them, feeding them, and taking them out for walks! I can also host dogs at my home who will love to play with my two friendly dogs. My schedule is very flexible! I can work my schedule around dog care this summer since I am a circus artist, I can schedule my training and teaching private lessons around your needs! I have two very friendly dogs that will be happy to welcome your dog(s) into their home and play with them! The yard is not fenced in since my dogs have an invisible fence, so I won’t let your dog off leash in the backyard.

Zander has walked our dog 8 times in the past 4 months, and has always done a good job. The very first time, I accidentally double-booked him with another walker, and they both graciously rearranged their schedules to fix the problem. Zander is a solid, no-fanfare guy who knows what’s important and doesn’t get distracted. For example, Zander alerted us to a problem with our dog’s poops, which turned out to be due to an intestinal parasite she picked up from the local wild rabbits living near our house. He’s always prepared, and keeps things on an even keel. I think he’s accepted every one of our booking requests, and we appreciate him in all respects.

About: I have lived in Newton, MA all of my life and know some great trails and hikes for an awesome long walk for your pup! I have taken care of my Australian Shepherd, Dakota, and have worked alongside my mom in boarding dogs for over 6 years. I am a reliable and trusting caretaker and prioritize the needs of each individual dog in regards to their energy level, health, age, and comfort levels with people and public situations. I have a strong love for dogs and care about giving them the best possible care. I am available for long walks for high energy dogs, or walks around the neighborhood and check ins for when you are away. I look forward to taking good care of your pup! I am currently working part time as I prepare for law school to start in the fall, so I will have lots of time to care for a pet! I will be able to provide many walks during the day, and give my undivided attention! I live in a house with a fully fenced large backyard, and across the street from the carriage lane on commonwealth ave. My home is very pet friendly.

About: I have never owned a dog myself, but I have always taken care of my friend’s dogs when they go out somewhere and I really enjoy hyper dogs to play around with them. We can run and play when I’m taking care of them. I also like to know what your dogs like before I take them anywhere, so I can plan ahead on what to do! If you would like to know more about me, let me know! I currently work at an office job, so I am mostly available on the weekends. There are some days in which I can be flexible when house sitting, but it depends on my schedule! I make sure that I double check everything around me for safety for the dog and myself. I try to have a schedule with the dogs and make sure that they have everything that they need.

About: As much as I love playing with puppies I have a fondness for senior dogs. I have spent more time caring for senior dogs and enjoy being around them. I worked nights and was always available for vet appointments. My dog Nicholas went to aquatherapy often and my Pug did acupuncture. I have cared for dogs needing meds, diaper changes, extra lifts, & short walks that required a long time. I often had dogs that needed fresh or homemade food and lots of treats & love. Being retired I am often home working on projects. I also am fortunate to have friends all over the country. I go to their homes and care for their pets while they vacation. I currently have no pets. I live 50ft to the paths along the Charles River. It is a great place to walk dogs. We come upon small wildlife, other dogs and lots of joggers. Some dogs still get excited need some training and treats. I have spent hours out there sitting with pets.

I cannot recommend Traci highly enough. From the very first day I met her, I was struck by her calm, grounded demeanor. She has a wonderful presence about her—confident, warm, and immediately reassuring. My puppy took to her right away, which is something I value tremendously. Since we began working together, I have been consistently impressed by Traci’s professionalism, organization, and communication. She is exceptionally reliable and proactive. She confirms schedules, communicates clearly, and often provides thoughtful updates and documentation that I never even thought to ask for—from extra photos of my puppy to screenshots confirming when she arrived and left my home. That level of self-imposed accountability speaks volumes about her character and work ethic. Most importantly, Traci has been incredibly patient and attentive with my puppy, who can be quite a handful. She is safety-conscious, observant, and genuinely invested in the well-being of both my dog and my home. On more than one occasion, she has noticed or communicated things that demonstrated just how seriously she takes her responsibilities. Before finding Traci, I unfortunately had a few disappointing—and at times concerning—experiences with other pet care providers. As a healthcare professional who works long shifts, one of my greatest worries after bringing home a puppy was ensuring she would be safe, cared for, and not spending long days feeling lonely or neglected while I was at work. Traci has completely put those concerns to rest. I leave for work knowing my puppy is in capable, caring hands, and that peace of mind is invaluable. She has also been remarkably flexible and accommodating whenever my schedule changes unexpectedly. Beyond being an excellent dog walker, she is simply a pleasure to work with and communicate with. She has a natural way with both animals and people, and it is obvious that she genuinely cares about the pets entrusted to her. I could not have hoped for a better person to help care for my puppy. I feel incredibly fortunate to have found her.

Julia is amazing! I was in a bind on Saturday because I had work and my mom was out all day, so I turned to Rover, not sure if anyone would be available so last minute AND on a weekend. Not only was Julia available; but she also responded almost immediately to me on the app and was more than happy to walk my dog, Bear. Bear is a very sweet and loves people, but is a rambunctious dog, who is slightly leash-aggressive. Julia showed up on time, kept me updated and sent me pictures of their time together. She even taught Bear a few tricks to being less aggressive on leash! She is very professional and warm and I can tell she loves my dog. I will definitely be reaching out to Julia in the future for all my Bear walks!
