Throughout his stay, she sent daily updates with photos and videos so we always knew how he was doing, and she responded quickly to all of my messages. It was clear that she genuinely cared about him and spent lots of time giving him attention and snuggles. Bear was very well cared for, and we felt completely at ease knowing he was with her. “Eric was quick to respond and agreed to watch Wally at the last minute, which was super helpful. He was attentive to Wally's needs and sent photos throughout the day, keeping us updated on his stay. Eric has a super cute dog who seemed easygoing even when Wally got a bit exciteable at pick-up/drop-off. We would absolutely have Eric watch Wally again. Thank you!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - West Newton
This was our first time using Rover, and Holly made us feel completely at ease from the start. Mochi takes a while to warm up to new people and situations, and Holly was so experienced and patient with her that we never had to worry. She was also a great communicator and sent us regular updates and photos while we were away. Mochi was in wonderful hands! We would absolutely recommend Holly and will definitely use her again.

Kim is one of the kindest and sweetest people ever. She took excellent care of my pups, communicated well, and sent photos throughout the day. She has earned my trust, and I plan to use her as my dogs’ primary dog sitter. Thank you for taking care of Lucky and Petunia; they had such a great time and will miss you and your family!

Jun Ho and Hanna always make Petunia feel at home. She spent a full day with them and their dog, Boki, and was so comfy she had to be called multiple times before she came out to go home (it was late and she had already settled onto the couch to snooze). That's how comfy, cozy, and safe she felt!

Amazing boarding service! So genuinely loving and caring sitters. My dog, Luke (10), had his own vacation in their home while we were away for 8 nights - lounging around in their bed (!) and chasing after the bunnies in their yard. They are very attentive and responsive, sending us lots of photos and messages about his "vacation". We will definitely return!

We could not have asked for a better sitter for Sofi than Samuel. Caring for our "dog-ter" comes with unique needs and extra responsibilities as she’s gotten older, but Samuel handled every single detail with incredible grace, patience, and warmth. From managing her special diet to administering her Adequan shots seamlessly, Samuel took care of her health and routine with complete precision and confidence. It gave us total peace of mind knowing our sweet girl was in such capable hands. Beyond the technical care, Samuel was exceptionally flexible and accommodating with our schedule, making the entire experience completely stress free. Throughout his time with her, the updates and photos Samuel sent meant the world to us. It was clear from every picture just how loved, comfortable, and pampered Sofi was. Samuel treated our dog-ter with the deep affection and gentle kindness that every senior dog deserves. What touched us most of all was watching Samuel say goodbye to Sofi at the end of her stay. Seeing him make a point to give her one last heartfelt hug before leaving was so moving and meant a lot, and showed his deep care for our pup. That level of genuine heart and care is rare, and we cannot recommend Samuel highly enough!

Mayra was very lovely to work with and was SUPER flexible and accommodating. I was kind of a pain in the butt given all my schedule changes 😂. But she was more than happy to accommodate with watching Kira. Took a load of stress off knowing my pup was in good hands and i didnt have to worry. She also provided tons of pictures and kept me up to date on how she was doing. Definitely recommend her to anyone!

She took good care of Minnie while I was away for over a week. Everything went smoothly, and I had no issues during her stay. Communication was fine overall, although I would have appreciated more regular updates and photos without having to ask. Overall, she was reliable and I would consider using her again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
