“We’ve used Aurora multiple times for boarding with Hondo and she’s done a great job! Hondo is always excited to go and she’s very responsive and provides lots of updates.”

“Elliot and his wife took great care of my dog during the first week-long trip I've taken without him. They were thoughtful and thorough during a meet-and-greet before the stay, provided photos and details all throughout the trip, and made sure he got back safely at the end of the week. I'll definitely be looking to book with them again for any future trips — thanks you two!”

“We were pleased with the care that Colby received from Luciana and her mom. He was well taken care of and got plenty of walks during his 5 day stay. We loved seeing the photos of him too while we were away!”

“We boarded our dog and cat for a week. Likun is very experienced and attentive in taking care of both cats and dogs. We received daily updates and she also replied to our messages very promptly. Her Border Collie is so sweet and gentil. Our puppy was really happy she has a mature big sister and perfect playmate! The home is well equipped to take care of multiple pets and her backyard is perfect for dogs to play in.”

“Chanel is probably the best pet sitter we’ve ever had on this app. She was attentive and communicative and our pup seemed to really like being with her. Can’t recommend her enough!”

“Freddi took outstanding care of Penny!!! She has an idyllic setup for hosting and provided Penny a cozy and comfortable stay while we were out of town. We loved the photos Freddi sent every day - Penny was clearly right at home! Would definitely book again.”

“Elizabeth and Neil, along with their dogs Beam and Percy, gave our dog such a fun weekend! They sent frequent pictures and videos so I could see what he was up to. Highly recommend!”

“Our minidoodle Sam had a great stay with Charlotte and Jordan, and their dog Kyber. Two things we especially like: They generally just take one dog at a time (more attention, and Sam loves attention!), and they live near some great walking trails. Very nice people.”

“Our dog can be very anxious when in new places but when he came home from a weekend with Seamus he was his normal self! I can tell he cared for. Thank you for all the pictures and videos.”

“Banksy absolutely loved his stay with Natasha & Jonathan! They were both amazing in ensuring he had everything he needed as well as sending lots of pictures and videos! We will definitely be using them again!”

“Jackie watched our very high energy dog over while we were getting married and did an amazing job with him! We didn't have to worry for a second about whether or not he was in good hands which truly allowed us to focus on our big day. Cannot recommend her enough!”

“Carol is fantastic! Our pup stayed with her for February vacation week and had a blast. She was very quick and kind with her communications — and sent pictures and videos throughout our vacation. Our flight was delayed, and she was very accommodating about adding an extra night for us. Will definitely book again if she’ll have us!”

“We left our 1.5-year-old Sheltie with Betsy for a long weekend and she was fantastic! Betsy responded quickly to questions, took our notes/suggestions into account during the visit, and sent us updates/pictures throughout the visit. Our dog came home happy, sleepy, and of course healthy!”

“Guillermo is fantastic. He was attentive to our old pup and wonderfully responsive to us. He is kind and calm, and it was clear our dog felt so comfortable and content. Our dog had an upset stomach and Guillermo was gracious and amazing at taking the extra steps to give him canned food and medicine. He sent great updates and pictures, I wish I had found him sooner and look forward to having him care for our dog again.”

“Martha was the best sitter for our dog. This was his first time away from us and he did great thanks to the care and attention he got from Martha. Lots of walks and even a nail clipping made his stay a great experience!”

“Our dog Anfi is a shy and very anxious girl. We’re usually unable to leave the house without her due to her separation anxiety, but thanks to Linda that’s no longer the case! Linda has been so amazing. She has treated Anfi with much love and care, and we are so appreciative of that! We look forward to many more day care and boarding stays with Linda!”

“Elizabeth and Rodrigo took amazing care of our dog while we were away for 6 days. He’s getting older and can be a little anxious, but he was totally comfortable in their home. They sent us tons of photos too, which we loved since we missed him. I’d absolutely recommend them as dog sitters.”

“Katherine was wonderful with my dog! We did a meet and greet before the stay and my dog was so excited to see her when I dropped her off for the extra long weekend! I would highly recommend Katherine!”
“We sent our little Skaii to board with Jennifer and her family for the 4th, they were so lovely and caring. She sent adorable photos of her to us as well, overall loved how she took care of our little chihuahua and would definitely rebook with her again! ❤️”

“We'd give a 6/5 if we could. Ariane and her family were absolutely wonderful with Lady. She had a great week, and really enjoyed playing with Ariane's dogs. We got updates every day, and it really helped us enjoy our trip more.”

Our dogs had a great stay with Wendy! They were so well cared for and looked so happy in all the pictures she sent. She made them feel right at home. Our dog Cody needs eye drops and they did an amazing job giving them to him. Highly recommend her for all dog care needs!!

Belinda took great care of our dog, Joy, and was awesome at communicating and sending photos/videos. Joy is a puppy in a big dog body, so full of extra energy, which Belinda handled with ease. She cared for Joy during one of the worst heat waves of the summer and kept her cool and comfortable. I highly recommend Belinda!

Marcia is spectacular. She offers everything you hope for when leaving your pup. It’s our first time with her and the 3rd place I’ve tried with my wheaten because of his anxiety. He did really well and found himself a second home where his fun, playful side shone. I highly recommend Marcia. Thank you Marcia. 🙏

Debbie was incredible, and I would 10/10 recommend her to anyone. She provided regular updates on our dog with photos; this put us at ease while we were traveling, so we could truly enjoy our time away. She treated our dog like her own, and we really can’t thank her enough. Will 100% be a repeat customer.

Mandy is cheerful and easy-going. She provided photos of my pet regularly and confirmed that meals were consumed (since our pet refuses to eat at times) and exercise was given. The fenced yard and deck are ample for fresh air breaks and Ruby seemed very much at home during her stay.

Victoria and family took great care of our dogs for the week while the rest of my family took a vacation. She sent lots of pictures and updates, and was quick to respond when I asked to updates. She was also very flexible about pickup and drop off times. The dogs seemed to have a good time, and Victoria will be going on our list of people to reach out to again next time we need dog sitting. Thank you!

This was our first time using Rover and leaving Piper with someone other than family/friends. We couldn’t have picked a better family to trust her with. Kim sent lots of updates, even one just a few minutes after we left to let us know Piper was already having fun playing with a ball in the fenced in backyard. Piper got lots of love from Brian and the kids too, as evidenced by their coming to say bye to Piper before we left and the fact that Piper came home exhausted (awesome for an Aussie). Their dog, Daisy, was sweet and friendly from the moment they were off leash together. We would definitely rebook with this wonderful family again!

Heather took great care of my goldendoodle (Riva) for a weekend. Heather was very communicative and shared pictures and updates throughout the stay, and it was comforting to see Riva looking so relaxed and at home. She seemed to fit right into Heather's family! I would definitely recommend Heather to others.

Booking with Noila was a great experience. She took amazing care of our two cats, kept us updated with cute photos every day, and was highly communicative. It’s such a relief to know your pets are in good, capable hands. We will definitely be reaching out to her again for future needs!
Everything went absolutely wonderfully with Olivia and Adam. We left our dog Chelsie with them for a long stay of about 2.5 weeks, and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Chelsie can be a bit anxious when staying with someone new, and to be honest, we were anxious too. We know all the little quirks and routines of our dog, but of course it’s impossible to explain every tiny detail ahead of time. Still, they handled everything incredibly well and made her feel comfortable very quickly. They constantly sent photos and updates, which I was extremely grateful for because it allowed us to actually relax and enjoy our trip without worrying. It was very clear from the updates that Chelsie was happy, comfortable, and having her own little vacation. At one point we joked that she might not even want to come back home after staying with them. Highly recommend them, especially if you’re nervous about leaving your dog for a longer stay.

For the past few years, I've been so lucky to be able to trust Carol with Copper when I have to travel. She has taken such good care of him every time, keeping me updated with lots of pictures and any concerns. While this is the last time I will be able to hire Carol to dogsit, as Copper and I are moving to California, we wish we could take her with us. It's going to be hard to find someone to do nearly as good of a job! You will be very missed!

Courtney is amazing! She watched our boy Brody for 3 nights and we couldn’t be happier with her care. She has a kind nature and I felt instantly comfortable with her. She took him for multiple walks each day and sent us many pics and updates. He was even sad when we left her, which was a true sign he was in good hands. We will hire Courtney again without hesitation!

Luke is amazing! This was our third time leaving our pup Peanut with Luke and Peanut had a great time. Luke took Peanut on a winter hike and cared for him so well. We are grateful that Luke was available given how much our pup loves staying at Luke’s. Our pup literally ran to Luke when we dropped him off :) thanks again Luke for taking such good care of Peanut and for sending regular updates :)

Katia is an excellent caregiver. She kept us well-informed about how our dog, Riker, was doing multiple times a day, including photos and videos. She asked all the right questions, and she didn't flinch at taking care of an old, 13-year-old border collie who can be an extreme challenge for others (including us). I would highly recommend her and I hope Riker can stay with her in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
