“Linda and her family were excellent with Wally. They sent us pics and videos every day, and he was obviously very happy to be there. She has 2 friendly dogs of her own and they were great playmates. We will call on Linda again for sure.”

“Very friendly, provided plenty of photos for us to see our dog during her stay. She was very responsive and attentive to the dog. When she got home she seemed happy! Recommended.”

“Paul was an excellent host/sitter for my 13 year old Jack Russell. He spent time with me and Benny upon drop off. I instantly sensed his expertise and comfort with her. I was at ease leaving her with him. Paul understood my concerns for my dog while in his care. I liked his confidence and handling Benny during this meet and greet on this first 24 hour stay. Paul sent a couple of texts and a pic of how things were going and I appreciated his matter of fact information sharing. I was totally pleased with this first experience of leaving Benny with an unfamiliar person and home. Couldn’t have gone better for all involved. Definitely will try for Paul for any future needs and I highly recommend Paul to others.”

“Guillermo was awesome. He was flexible with our drop off and pick up times, sent us plenty of updates and our pup came home exhausted from his stay (the best possible outcome!). I would totally book with him again.”

“Joseph and his family were great sitters. They took care of our boy like he was their own. Their home and outdoor space is safe and spacious for dogs to get plenty of exercise. They were also very accommodating when we had a change in travel plans. I wouldn’t hesitate to book him again as a sitter.”

“Our dog, Bailey, had a wonderful time with Mariia & Mikhail – it was very clear from all the photos! We were away for almost two weeks and were initially a little nervous to leave Bailey for so long. Their communication and adorable photos of Bailey having fun, getting a lot of attention, and taking walks put us at ease and made our hearts sing. Our Bailey is 14 years old, so she has some walking limitations, and she has to take medication. Mariia & Mikhail handled everything like pros, and we truly don’t think she could have been in better hands. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking to leave their pet with friendly, responsible, and communicative sitters.”

“I cannot thank this family enough for the incredible care they provided. In a moment of high stress—when my wife went into labor at the last minute—they stepped in and looked after our senior dog, Otoko, without hesitation. Otoko is 16 years old and has a variety of medical issues that require a lot of patience and specialized attention. They didn't just "watch" him; they treated him like a member of their own family. They were incredibly attentive to his needs, taking him for gentle walks and even hand-feeding him to ensure he was getting his meals. Throughout the stay, they sent frequent pictures and videos, which gave us such immense peace of mind while we were at the hospital. Knowing he was being so well-loved and attended to allowed us to focus on our new arrival. If you are looking for sitters who truly love dogs and will go above and beyond for a senior pup with extra needs, look no further. They are an extraordinary family!”

“Our second time leaving Frank and we were a little nervous, but Carol was incredibly attentive and kind. Communication was great and she sent us frequent updates. She had quick responses with any concerns we had and was very patient. We could tell from the pictures that Frank was happy and being loved on. Great experience, very glad to have met someone local who is a good fit for Frank. Frank tends to be a little nervous and definitely benefited from the extra love and attention, we were very happy to have him in an environment he felt comfortable!”

“This was my first time using Rover, and Peter made the entire experience very positive for Cooper and our family. Cooper has a lot of energy and Peter and his family fully welcomed him, included him, and cared for him for 5 nights. Peter sent pictures throughout our visit with my mother in Florida, which replaced my worry and anxiety with laughter and a sense of peace. Cooper was more than Ok, he was loved and cared for. I will definitely book Peter again.”

“David G took great care of my dog, Cassey. David sent me pictures and checked with me about what Casey could do and eat. Cassey likes going to David's house. She was calm when I left her and calm when I picked her up. I am so happy to have found a loving home where Cassey can stay when I am away. Great job David! Thanks!”

“This is my second time using Paul and Megan for boarding for my dog. They were very attentive to my dog's needs and she seemed to have a great time there. I would definitely book again without hesitation.”

“Xinyue and Weihai were most accommodating and responsive during a last minute stay. Indy had a great time and I felt most assured of his care while I was away. Highly recommend!”

“Sahana was the best! Kept us updated the entire time and was extremely understanding. She made sure our pup was comfortable and made her feel right at home!! And Cinnamon was a great friend to our little pup as well. Will definitely rebook!”

“I’m so glad I found Stacey to care for my dog. She was Amazing! She provided pictures and updates daily which put my mind at ease. She took such good care of her that I was afraid she wouldn’t want to come home! Truly the BEST! Thank you!!”

“Zelun was so good with our dog. We will definitely be using zelun in the future. He sent lots of photos and had great communication. He also brought Iggy on many adventures each day like the park and nice walks!”

“Michael was absolutely fabulous with my dog Riley. He sent me daily updates and took her on plenty of walks and adventures. He clearly cared about her well-being and was very thoughtful and accommodating about Riley’s specific needs. His kids were also so great with Riley. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for a dog sitter, he is truly the best!”

About: Previously had a full time pet care business but we moved! Starting up again because my dog misses her friends. We go outside often and my dog will have your dog playing as much as they’ll allow. Your dog will have plenty of mental stimulation, play time, outside time, cuddles, and chill time. I do allow pets on the furniture but I can avoid it if that is your training. I have worked with many trainers and found my style to be more of keeping the dogs calm and regulated while still allowing for playtime and plenty of mental stimulation. We do about a 1-2 hour walk almost every day if you’d like your dog to come along! I have an extremely flexible schedule. I do not typically leave home for more than 4 hours at a time. I do a park walk or hike for 1-2 hours a day. If it’s too hot or cold we can play in the “dog room” and take quick walks outside or play in the kiddie pool in the yard! We are at the end of a dead end street. I board dogs at my home. I am very safety oriented with my dog and clients’ dogs. We do not go to dog parks. Dogs stay on lead unless they are in a fenced in space. We avoid all other dog interactions in public. I listen to your specific directions for feeding, medications, quirks, reactivity, triggers, etc. I have gates and an extra room if needed. Bring a familiar object for your dog like a blanket and toy for their crate. I only crate at night, for dinner time (to avoid resource guarding), or for safety/health reasons.
“Lori provided excellent care to our dog, Apollo, while we were away on vacation. She was very communicative, provided regular updates and sent a lot of great photos and videos! I would highly recommend her and will ask for her help again. Thank you so much, Lori!!”

Asia was WONDERFUL!! This was our first time leaving our pup Chickoo for such an extended period of time and she went above and beyond to ease my mind. She was extremely communicative, provide multiple updates with pictures daily, and answered any questions we had. Asia took care of Chickoo like he was her own and we are so thankful we found her! 10000% recommend her to anyone looking to have peace of mind while traveling.

Our feisty but loving Springer Spaniel had a great stay with Nicole. We were nervous to leave Moxie with a new caregiver for a long overseas trip, but Nicole was reassuring and sent frequent pics and updates. She even took our pup to the beach! We definitely recommend Nicole.

Pete was a terrific host for Hank! Hank and Fudge got along wonderfully and became great buddies. Pete kept Hank on his regular schedule, made sure he got plenty of enjoyable walks, and treated him like one of the family. We especially appreciated the daily photo updates, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. Hank was genuinely sad to say goodbye to both Pete and Fudge. We wouldn't hesitate to have Hank stay with Pete again!

David is fantistic with my dog, Cassey. Cassey is getting older. David takes great care of her and caters to her every need. I got many pictures of Cassey during her stay at David's. Cassey is very calm and content when she's at David's. It's like her second home. I am very relaxed on my vacation knowing David it taking care of Cassey. She's always in good hands when she's with David. Thanks David for your kindness and calmness with Cassey.

We were so thankful Kristin was able to watch our Golden Retriever, Rylie, on short notice! She has such a calm, easygoing personality that instantly made us feel comfortable leaving Rylie with her. You can tell she truly loves what she does and genuinely cares about the animals in her care. She also checked in a couple of times each day with adorable pictures and little updates, which we really appreciated. It gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was such a great experience, and we’d absolutely book with Kristin again. Thank you so much for taking such great care of our girl! 🐾💕

Andrea was AMAZING! I never had to worry about Enzo at all, I knew he was in great hands. Andrea was a great communicator, sent updates and photos, took him on walks and played fetch (his favorite thing ever) and treated him as if he was hers. The only thing I worried about was if he was going to want to come back home with me! Highly recommend!

This is the third time we have left Buddy in the care of Cathleen and her lovely family. Cathleen regularly updates with photos and commentary about how Buddy is acclimating to his new environment. Many of her photos are met with bursts of laughter as Buddy appears to be making himself right at home. No problems here. LOL. Thanks, Cathleen!
Great communication and a gentle sitter with the right energy and attitude for my pup! She was super accommodating for all my dog’s quirks and habits and truly welcomed her into her home. The frequent updates were such an amazing touch - like we left our dog with a family member. Thanks Deepika!

Jessica was great with Teddy, my golden retriever, when he boarded with her. She sent updates and photos daily and seemed to treat him just like her own dogs. I trust her completely and won't hesitate to have Teddy stay with her in the future. I highly recommend this wonderful sitter.
Yiru is an incredibly responsible and thoughtful sitter! She took wonderful care of Rosie and kept me updated with photos throughout the stay, which I really appreciated. She was also very flexible and accommodating with our drop-off and pick-up times. Yiru is extremely polite and easy to communicate with—I felt completely comfortable leaving Rosie in her hands. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great sitter!

Veena was wonderful! She made sure we had a meet and greet prior to Chickoos stay and was communicative throughout his time there. It made us feel better seeing pictures/videos and she always kept us informed. We will absolutely work with Veena again and highly recommend her for your pups!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
