“Hannah was great! We are new pup parents and this was the first time we left our puppy with a sitter. I really appreciated how Hannah kept us updated throughout the day with pictures, videos, and messages. I booked last minute and she was responsive and answered all my questions beforehand. I will definitely look to rebook with Hannah in the future!”

“You cannot ask for better care for your dog than the care and attention that Elizabeth and Neil provide. I was so happy to see many photos and videos of Trixie playing, enjoying the backyard, and being very well taken care of. Thank you, Elizabeth and Neil— we appreciate it so much!”

About: I've been working with dogs for over five years, including dogsitting and walking through Rover, as well as hands-on experience at animal shelters. I'm especially comfortable with senior dogs, I've even cared for a 20-year-old pup! I’m calm, patient, and attentive to each dog’s individual needs, whether that means going at a slower pace for older dogs or providing extra comfort and care. I'm currently working remotely, which allows me to give your dog plenty of attention throughout the day. I take dogs on regular walks, at least once in the morning and once in the evening. When a dog is in my care, they truly become part of the family. Whether it's a car ride, a visit to a pet-friendly store, or a mini-hike, your pup will be by my side, enjoying the day with me. I prioritize safety, comfort, and transparency when caring for pets, whether in my home or yours. I'm always upfront about the environment your dog will be in, and if your dog isn’t comfortable around others, I won’t host additional pets during their stay. I’m experienced with administering medications and keeping an eye on each dog’s overall well-being, including tick checks and monitoring for any signs of discomfort. If I ever notice anything unusual, I’ll contact you right away to keep you fully informed.

“Carol responded to the call of duty right when I needed her! I recently had surgery this week and overestimated being up for the challenge of healing and watching my pup. I attempted to call local pet hotels, but because my puppy hadn’t been with them before it was impossible to get in at the last minute. Carol not only replied right after I messaged her (at 7 AM in the morning) but she even agreed to meet me somewhere that was closer to my home (due to me healing and not able to be in the car for long) to pick up the pup. I truly recommend Carol and she has been such a lifesaver! She sent me a picture and updates of my pup (he has never been around anyone but myself and my family and this made me feel very at ease) and there were other pups for him to hang out with! She has even been checking up with my pup and myself the day after and I will definitely be using her services again. Thanks Carol!”

About: Hi, I’m Xinyue, I’m part-time a dog treats baker! I bake fresh dog cookie and cake from scratch. May dream is to open a dog treats store. I have a 4-year-old Golden Retriever. I walk him twice a day and have trained him to sit, lie down, stay, fetch the ball, come back, and follow several other commands. He is well-trained. I also bake fresh homemade dog treats for him. If your pet stays with us, I will treat them like family too! Weihai works from home all day, he will be home with dogs all the time, Xinyue that’s me I usually walk the dog in the morning and play with him in the yard after I get home. I have shorter work hours during the summer, so I’ll be home often to take care of them. I’m also usually available on weekends and love taking dogs on hikes, to the park, or to the beach. We have a fenced yard and a 4-year-Golden Retriever named Igo, who is super friendly with both dogs and people. There’s also a dog door that leads to the yard. If your dog stays with Igo and us, they’ll be welcome to cuddle on the couch or relax in the yard—whatever they prefer! But I’ll never leave the dog along in the yard.
“Another great stretch of daycare days with Likun and EL! He races to her house every morning which tells me he loves going! I can go to work knowing he’s in good hands. Thank you again!”

“Natali took such great care of our 11 month old puppy during his first overnight stay away from home. She was patient, communicative, and kept us updated throughout the stay, which gave us so much peace of mind. Even though he was a little nervous from being in a new environment, she was incredibly understanding and attentive to his needs. We could tell he was well cared for and had a great time with Natali and Rocko. We’d absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter!”

“Our pup Bruce had an intense reactive past, but has improved significantly over the years with training and behavior modification. For this reason, we’re cautious on caregivers, as we’re very transparent with his history prior to rescue and training. We came across Brianna’s profile and from her experience, she seemed like a great fit for Bruce. Brianna did not disappoint. She was wonderful with our pup and he warmed up to her quickly. He enjoyed lots of cuddle time, walks and lap hangs while she was working at her desk. Brianna was communicative, quick to respond, personable, warm and inviting. We plan to book with Brianna again soon!”
“My dog had a wonderful stay with Xiuping and her family. They are so kind and friendly. Very responsive and trustworthy as well. I got many cute pics and felt my dog was given a lot of attention and well cared for. I would definitely rebook next time.”

“This was my first time on Rover and my yellow lab Gus had a great time with Rebeca and her family! She provided photo updates and was very friendly. They live on a nice neighborhood and have a great home for dogs to feel at home and play!! Thank you again. We will definitely be booking again with Rebeca”

“Luci and her family were absolutely incredible for our pup! From the moment I reached out, she was incredibly responsive, professional, and accommodating. During her time with them, she was treated like family! Luci sent regular updates, including adorable pictures and videos, which made me feel so at ease. This was my first time leaving my pup alone and she was so happy every day she was there. I highly recommend!”

“Pogo had an amazing stay with Akhil!! He thoroughly enjoyed himself and will definitely be coming back again soon! Thank you for a great experience and all the care for our baby.”

Kerrianne and her family were fantastic. Pippa had a great time with them. Our dog can be high a little energy and they had no problem with her. She had such a good time she didn't seem like she even wanted to leave. We will definitely be reaching out to Kerrianne again next time we need someone.

Brianna has taken such good care of Oliver at a really hard time for him. He is so happy to see her and her home is such warm and cozy for my dog. She communicates perfectly to let me relax after I drop him. You can tell Brianna really loves the dogs she cares for.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
