“Belinda took great care of our dog Ollie and sent regular updates and pictures. Ollie is an anxious dog and he seemed very comfortable there. We would definitely have him stay with her again!”

“Was on a trip to MA for the weekend. Very happy that I found Marcia to take care of my dog for the day while I was out. She provided a lot of pictures and updates without me having to ask. She went above and beyond! She took my dog out for multiple walks as well as letting my dog outside in her fenced in backyard all day. If I am back in MA again, definitely will be reaching out!”

“Ying is so sweet to our pup and makes sure she has everything she needs throughout the day. We love receiving photos and updates and Ying is great with them. We will definitely be booking again!”

“We had a wonderful experience with Carol for Finley’s first-ever daycare through Rover. As a first-time daycare user, we were a bit nervous, but Carol made the entire process smooth and reassuring. She was extremely responsive both before and during Finley’s stay, answering all our questions and keeping us updated with photo and video of him playing and settling in. Carol’s calm and caring approach helped him feel comfortable and safe. We’re so glad we found her and will definitely be booking with her again. Highly recommend Carol to anyone looking for a reliable, communicative, and genuinely caring sitter!”

About: I've grown up with dogs my whole life. Always had one since I had my memory. I've also had cats and hamsters I've rehabilitated. My dog Cinnamon is basically my daughter and i'm somewhat a beacon to most dogs and I love it I recently started a work from home job. I just bought a house recently so our dog can have the back and front yard she deserves. I can walk them 4-6 times a day, play with them and they'll have a best friend here too. We're on a dead-end street, and our yard is fenced on one side. We also have our dog, who will keep your dog company. We don't have kids so no tiny toys lying around as a choking hazard
“Courtney took amazing care of my puppy, Mocha! She kept me updated throughout the day with messages and photos, which gave me total peace of mind. I felt completely comfortable leaving my pup with her and will definitely book again.”

“Carol has been great with our dog - a 9 yo rescue who has a lot of trust and anxiety issues. She takes great care of Izzy, takes her on adventures and has great facilities to keep the dogs safe in her fenced in backyard. Appreciate knowing that Izzy will have a good time every day and that she comes home exhausted each day. A tired dog is a good dog. :)”

“Hannah was great! We are new pup parents and this was the first time we left our puppy with a sitter. I really appreciated how Hannah kept us updated throughout the day with pictures, videos, and messages. I booked last minute and she was responsive and answered all my questions beforehand. I will definitely look to rebook with Hannah in the future!”

“This is our second time using Rover and it was such an awesome experience. We're looking for an in-home daycare and my puppy Houston had an absolute blast with Weihai, and the pups Igo and Kiwi. Houston can't wait to return - thank you!”

I have a fenced yard where dogs can run freely and securely. I understand the importance of routine and safety, treating every furry guest as a member of our own family.
About: I have a lifetime of experience caring for pets and a genuine love for animals. I grew up with cats and dogs, which taught me from a young age how to understand their different personalities, respect their boundaries, and provide them with patience, attention, and loving care. I also have hands-on experience caring for dogs of different sizes and energy levels. I currently have a sweet, friendly 6-year-old Pomeranian who is a very important part of our family. In addition, I cared for a Golden Retriever for two years, giving me experience with a larger and more active dog. Through caring for my own pets and the pets in my family, I’m comfortable with everyday pet care such as feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, potty breaks, companionship, and maintaining their normal routines. I understand that every pet is different, and I take the time to learn each pet’s personality, habits, and individual needs. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, happy, and loved while their family is away. I’m also happy to provide regular updates and photos so pet parents can have peace of mind knowing their furry family member is in caring hands. 🐶🐱❤️ I’m a stay-at-home mom, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to provide plenty of time, attention, and care to the pets I look after. I’m available for walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting, and I can be flexible with scheduling depending on your pet’s needs. I’m able to give pets the companionship and attention they need throughout the day while maintaining their regular routines. I’m also happy to provide updates and photos so you can feel comfortable knowing your pet is happy and well cared for while you’re away. 🐾❤️ I live in a comfortable townhouse with a fully fenced yard, providing a safe space for pets to enjoy fresh air and playtime. My home is conveniently located next to a Memorial Park, which provides a great nearby space for safe, enjoyable walks and outdoor time. Dogs can get fresh air, exercise, and plenty of opportunities to explore their surroundings without needing to travel far. I’ll always prioritize your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being while they’re in my care. 🐾❤️
“I hesitated writing a review because Rosemary was so great that I don't want to share her accolades with everyone because the she'll just get booked up. She took care of my dog like it was hers and my pup couldn't have been happier. It was a pleasure to have Rosemary watch my Mabel!”

“Heather (and her two adorable and fun dogs) is a godsend. My dog can be anxious and untrusting, so finding care for her where I am comfortable that she feels at ease is quite a challenge. However, she lives to go to Heather's place! Not only has Heather watched Perla over night, but I regularly take Perla to Heather's while I'm at work. I drop Perla off to Heather at least one day a week. I am so glad I don't have to depend on a doggy daycare business. Heather is very flexible with scheduling and definitely takes my dog for my walks than I do in a given day. I am very grateful for Heather and highly recommend her!”

“Finn has been loving his days with Likun! Her dog loves to run and play as well, so it’s a great match! Finn gets outside time, walks, and naps during his stay and always comes home tired and happy. Thank you Likun!!”

“This was my first time on Rover and my yellow lab Gus had a great time with Rebeca and her family! She provided photo updates and was very friendly. They live on a nice neighborhood and have a great home for dogs to feel at home and play!! Thank you again. We will definitely be booking again with Rebeca”

“It’s always a pleasure to connect with Elizabeth and Neil! Marley spent the day and had a great time. Got home and needed a nap, which means he had fun and burned energy! Always looking forward to having Marley stay with Elizabeth and Neil. They are always so flexible and understanding.”

“Loves my dogs as much as I do, always pays attention to the little details like medications and making sure I get all of their toys back, and super flexible about scheduling even with my weird schedule.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Wakefield
Our pup, Sammy, appreciated the kind and gracious welcome from hosts Sahana and Raman -- and also little Cinnamon! The hosts communicated exceptionally well and have a perfect set up for pets. Our first visit was a doggie daycare meet and greet and we have confidence we will be able to do overnight boarding. We will definitely be rebooking!

Kerrianne and her family were fantastic. Pippa had a great time with them. Our dog can be high a little energy and they had no problem with her. She had such a good time she didn't seem like she even wanted to leave. We will definitely be reaching out to Kerrianne again next time we need someone.

Brianna has taken such good care of Oliver at a really hard time for him. He is so happy to see her and her home is such warm and cozy for my dog. She communicates perfectly to let me relax after I drop him. You can tell Brianna really loves the dogs she cares for.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Wakefield commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
