“Muppet has now had 4 days of doggie daycare with Luciana's Mom Solange and she has been great. She is always ready for us when we arrive and when I come back for pickup. She is super accommodating and has been perfectly happy for me to drop off late in the day and pick up as late as 11:30 p.m. She takes Muppet for many more walks than I ever manage in a day, and, though he is a nervous dog in general, he seems to be more and more comfortable with each visit. Thanks, Solange!”

“She is an amazing sitter! She gave frequent updates throughout the day, and really appreciated that she went above and beyond by sending a lot of pictures. Also, I really appreciate her flexibility. If you’re in Boston, highly recommend her as your pet sitter. Go Greta (and Juniper)! 🫶✨”

“My dog Toby is always nervous meeting new people. Ana was very patient and within minutes Toby adjusted. We will be bringing Toby back on regular basis. Love the pictures during his stay makes you feel connected.”

“Mike and Tucker are amazing! I found them at a last minute and it couldn’t have worked out any better. My pup and Tucker got a long so well and she had fun all weekend. I will be back Mike. Thank you so much”

“Charlie absolutely loved his stay at Akhil's place. Both Akhil and his wife were super nice. They shared pictures and videos of Charlie and texted us at regular intervals to give us the updates. We picked a very happy and content puppy! Thank you Akhil. We will be back when we need someone to care for Charlie again.”

About: New to Rover but not new to pet care! I’m the first person my neighbors, friends, and relatives will call to care for their dogs and cats for the last 4 years. My priority is making sure your pet is comfortable and safe at all times- and has lots of fun! I have a Cavapoo named Miski who is the sweetest and loves meeting humans, dogs, and cats! I call myself a stay-at-home dog mom because my work day revolves around my dog and the pets I take care of. This means your pet will receive plenty of attention, cuddles, and exercise. I enjoy frequent beach walks and enjoy them even more when I have a furry friend (or two) with me. I do not have a yard but I will walk your dog every 2-4 hours. I have a seperate room where dogs can use a pee pad if they want to. While boarding, your dog will stay with my 30lb Cavapoo in my home, she is very friendly and loves meeting new dogs!
“Natali took such great care of our 11 month old puppy during his first overnight stay away from home. She was patient, communicative, and kept us updated throughout the stay, which gave us so much peace of mind. Even though he was a little nervous from being in a new environment, she was incredibly understanding and attentive to his needs. We could tell he was well cared for and had a great time with Natali and Rocko. We’d absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter!”

About: I’ve spent my entire conscious life surrounded by pets, growing up with two of my own. I’ve dog sat most of my life since the age of 14. I love all dogs from small to large. I’m extremely active and love going for walks, hikes, and runs! I’d love to help your pup get some energy out when you need it. I am junior in undergrad and part-time waiter getting my masters and bachelors degree. I’m looking for new ways to pay for school and continue to live a healthy active lifestyle amidst the chaotic city life. I attend university in D.C. and am more than happy to travel beyond my set parameters. I have class 9:45-11 and 12:55-2:10 Mondays/Thursdays and 11:20-5:20 Wednesdays, the rest of my week is open and my work schedule fluctuates. I have three main priorities. My safety, pet safety, and house safety. We live in a crazy world and at the end of the day our pets deserve to be cared for and treated the way we want to be. Relying on strangers can be tough at first, but I’m here to mitigate the worries and make sure your family is taken care of! I have experience taking care of older dogs with no teeth, ensuring they have proper food and hygiene. I also have experience administering oral medications from my first dog who had a heart murmur. I even have experience walking multiple dogs at the same time, as well as hiking with dogs in nature reserves and other trails.
“Susan is the best! Pia couldn’t be in better hands, she always goes the extra mile. She is friendly, pays attention to every detail, and makes sure Pia is always comfortable. She keeps Pia active, gives her medications, and makes sure she stays warm and cozy. She even sings to her, and they’ve developed their own little dance routine. Last time, Pia even came home with a new heating pad! I truly couldn’t trust her more.I highly recommend her!”

“Thais and Nathalie took care of my dogs multiple times this year. They helped out with long trips, and day visits, and each time they took great care of our pups. Thank you so much!”

“Natasha was a great sitter for Cujo! She was very responsive, flexible with our timing, and showed a lot of care for our pup. She sent video and picture updates and gave him a lot of play time outside! Would recommend to anyone in the area looking for a caring sitter.”

“Was on a trip to MA for the weekend. Very happy that I found Marcia to take care of my dog for the day while I was out. She provided a lot of pictures and updates without me having to ask. She went above and beyond! She took my dog out for multiple walks as well as letting my dog outside in her fenced in backyard all day. If I am back in MA again, definitely will be reaching out!”

“Fantastic puppy sitter!! Jasper loves going to play at Carol's and comes home exhausted. I love knowing he's well looked after, happy, and safe. Great communication and pictures. Thank you so much!!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Saugus
We were visiting Boston with our fur baby and realized that a couple of activities we had planned weren’t dog-friendly, so with little time to prepare we turned to Rover and found Akhil. We had never left her with someone we hadn’t met before, so we were a bit nervous, but choosing Akhil turned out to be the best decision. He and his family took wonderful care of her, kept her entertained, and made sure she felt comfortable and at ease. He also kept us updated throughout with frequent messages and lots of pictures, which really reassured us and allowed us to enjoy our time without worry. Thank you, Akhil, for stepping in on such short notice and taking such great care of our girl, we truly appreciate it!

Amber was very loving and caring, and she goes above and beyond! She suggested a meetup the day before to help facilitate a smooth session, and she addressed all the needs during the sitting session and sent lots of feedbacks and photos. Would definitely leaving my dog with Amber next time I visit Boston!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
