“Tiffany and Steve took such great care of Cooper. They sent a lot of pictures throughout the day. They also trained him and played with him. And followed his routine with walks, meal time and snacks. They made sure Cooper felt at home. I’m glad I found them on Rover. I was at ease as Cooper is generally anxious of meeting new people, but he settled in very well with them.”

“Maria did a wonderful job of taking care of Sally. She relieved Sally's anxiety with kind and gentle handling. Her dog, Bagel, was a good companion for my dog. I would recommend calling upon Maria whenever you have the opportunity.”
“Our other dog sitter cancelled last minute and Jhona was able to step in and take very great care of our dog! Roo had fun walks and playtime and we got photos and updates during his stay. Will book again”

“very helpful and flexible when I had last minute changes of plans. took excellent care of my dog and sent dozens of photos! my dog loved him and was so happy all day. i absolutely trusted he was in good hands.”

About: I’ve always had dogs in my life. I grew up beside them and learned how to care for them at a very early age. I have experience with many different breeds, sizes, personalities, ages; from dogs who were my family, from my friend’s dogs to dogs belonging to people in my local community. Since I’ve been living in Boston for almost a year now, I have scouted out great routes to walk dogs to local spots for play and enjoyment, especially in nature. Special skills include dog breed knowledge, basic commands training, clicker training, animal welfare, and basic wilderness first aid training. I work from home 70% of the time and my schedule is wonderfully quite flexible. I am able to meet basic needs like potty breaks or walks and easily adjust my routine around the dog’s needs. I have worked with many different dog personalities and characteristics before and can take care of your dog however needed. I allow dogs on the bed and couch, have plenty of treats on hand, have many pet friendly locations nearby to take them, etc.
About: Hi, I'm Amy! I work from home full-time, so your pup will have company throughout the day rather than being left alone for long periods of time in a strange place. I have experience sitting dogs of all sizes, from small breeds to large ones, and your pup will be the only Rover dog I watch at any given time so there is no need to worry about potentially conflicting personalities. I'm an active person who loves the outdoors (averaging 13k+ steps a day over the past year), so your dog can look forward to long walks or even short runs, if I'm training for an upcoming race and they're up for the pace. My home is a 4-story brownstone with plenty of room to roam (pups are welcome on beds and furniture!), plus a small fenced-in backyard for outdoor time and quick potty breaks. I'm also close to several parks, including the beautiful, expansive Mary O'Malley Park right on the water, and surrounded by a neighborhood full of friendly dogs — so there's no shortage of ways to socialize and burn off energy. I also have my own dog, Poppy, an Aussiedoodle who's confident and easygoing around other dogs. She'll happily give your pup their space while still being a calm, friendly presence around the house and out on walks. I work fully-remote so I am home most of the time during the week. My own dog has social anxiety so she’s never alone for more than 3-4 hours at a time so your pup won’t be either! I have a fenced-in backyard (6ft tall) and a very active Aussie mix who will keep your pup company on long walks. I can crate dogs too if that is how they feel most comfortable. Otherwise they have full roam of the house and are allowed on furniture/beds as they like.
“Winn did very well with Emily and Daniel. When I picked him up from daycare he was wagging his tail happily, having enjoyed a day with them and their dog.”

“Luna really enjoyed her stay with Ardelia. We have a special needs dog and Ardelia was very understanding and helpful. We would definitely work with Ardelia again.”

About: I’ve cared for dogs of all breeds and sizes since I was 10. Friends, family, and neighbors trust me to walk, feed, bathe, and love their pets like my own. I’m experienced with puppies, senior dogs, and high-energy pets, and I’m always reliable and communicative. Pet care easily fits into my daily and weekly routine. I offer daytime services like drop-ins, walks, and playtime, and I plan my schedule around the pets I care for. I’m dependable, flexible, and make sure each visit is focused, fun, and tailored to the pet’s needs—whether that’s a long walk, feeding, or some one-on-one attention. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or theirs, I make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable. I stick closely to their usual routines—meal times, potty breaks, walks, and playtime—to reduce stress while their owners are away. I always follow any specific instructions, from medications to feeding preferences, and I give regular updates and photos to keep pet parents in the loop. I’m clean, respectful of the home, and make sure every pet feels at ease while in my care.
“Our puppy had such a great time in Mariah‘s home with her to adorable little guys. She took them on long walks and trips to the dog park and big plus she knows sign language and did some commands with our puppy. So cool!”

“We were passing through Atlanta on vacation and wanted to visit the GA Aquarium. I contacted Maddy to watch our dog Annie for the day and she responded promptly. Her place was only a mile from the aquarium so we dropped Annie off and in no time Maddy had sent us an update. She sent us several updates and pictures throughout the day, which I appreciated. She took Annie out for a walk as well. Annie seemed to feel comfortable with Maddy and I’m so grateful she was available to care for our baby! I highly recommend Maddy and will reach out again next time we’re in the area.”

“Hudson had a great time with Jamie! This was his first time staying with a babysitter so I was a little nervous about how he’d do (and nervous to leave him 😂), but Jamie was great and Hudson seemed happy and calm both days when I picked him up. Would definitely recommend!”

About: This is a joint account with my girlfriend Julia and I. We both love being around animals and have experience caring for dogs of different sizes, temperaments, and energy levels. I grew up raising a German Shepherd and, more recently, a shitzu and Maltese! Julia grew up raising a Toy poodle. We’re reliable, attentive, and understand how important it is for pet owners to feel confident that their pets are in good hands. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or just keeping them company, we make sure every pet gets patient, personalized care and plenty of attention. As a medical student, I’m highly responsible, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure, and I bring that same level of care and dependability to looking after pets. We’ll treat your pets like they’re our own and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away! I'm available most weekends but weekdays are a bit variable so please feel free to contact me with any questions about scheduling and I’ll do my best to be very transparent about my schedule. Creating a safe, trustworthy, and comfortable environment for pets is my top priority. I always follow owners’ instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, medications, exercise needs, and any behavioral preferences or restrictions. I understand that every pet has a different personality and comfort level, so I approach each animal with patience and attentiveness. I also believe communication is important, so I make sure owners stay updated with messages and photos while they’re away.

“My sitter got sick and Jim stepped up very last minute to watch Freddie and was so wonderful. Very communicative and sweet with Freddie. His dog is super cute too! It’s always a little nerve racking using someone new, but I felt very comfortable leaving Fred with Jim. He also seemed to have a good time and was nice and calm when I picked him up. I would highly recommend Jim!”

“Our pup, Roxy, had Ana amazing time with Oxana. We have received constant communication, pictures and update. Oxana follows Roxy’s routine and helped us by continuing training and cues. We highly recommend Oxana!”

“Brendan was amazing with my dog, Birdie! This was Birdie’s very first time at doggy daycare, and I couldn’t have asked for a better person to care for her. Brendan was incredibly friendly, warm, and accommodating from the start—he immediately put both me and Birdie at ease. He was so communicative throughout the day, sending updates and photos that made me feel totally comfortable and reassured. It’s always hard leaving your pup with someone new, but Brendan made it easy. I felt like Birdie was in such loving, capable hands. Highly recommend!”

“Barbara is literally the best and so, so helpful. She took care of my dog for 3 days when I had an extremely intense schedule. She accommodated drop off and pick up and was always early - when I arrived she was already downstairs waiting for me and I really appreciate that. She is experienced and can identify the needs of my dog and update me accordingly. When my dog returned to her place for the 2nd and 3rd day my dog looked so happy to be with her again. I’ll definitely have her taken care of my dog again if necessary”

“Patricia did a great job taking care of our poodle Beau. When we met it was clear that she was very knowledgeable about dogs, and our dog warmed up to her instantly. Highly recommended and we look forward to having her take care of him in the future!”

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
