“Janette and her family, including their dog Luna, are so wonderful to our dog, Lenny. She is so kind and communicative! Lenny loves spending time with them and going for walks in their beautiful neighborhood. Thank you so much for taking such great care of our dog!”

“A truly 5 star experience. Cameron was easy to communicate with and work with. Just off vibe alone I knew my dog was in good hands when he was picked up. Throughout the day I was consistently updated with photos and videos of my dog out and about. I highly highly recommend Cameron to anyone in need of a dog-sitter. Next time I’m in Boston I will 100% be reaching out to him first. Finn will miss Cameron and Rosie a ton!!! 5 stars!!”

“Andrew was incredibly caring with my dog. My pup had some specific needs after a surgery and Andrew went above and beyond for the little guy. He sent a ton of photos and videos during the day, and it was clear what a good day my dog was having”

“Lexi took great care of Emmy during her daycare visit! She was very attentive to Emmy’s needs and made sure she felt comfortable and happy throughout the day. We appreciated all of the updates Lexi sent us during the visit!”

About: Master's degree in animal care and welfare. Former vet tech for dogs and cats at an E.R. I also have an Animal Science degree and have cared for horses and other animals. I work from home some days, part-time, and always have walk breaks. I go for long walks and will join with doggy playmates if your dog is able. Will also walk small dogs in carriages for fresh air. Have fenced in yard for small and medium size dogs. I have a fenced in yard and one Bichon rescue dog who is older, and friendly with other dogs. I was a former vet tech and have much cat and dog health care skills.
“My pup had the best time ever in the yard, chilling in the house, and befriending Betsy’s sweet dog. I even got a photo during the day. :-) Looking forward to her next stay!”

“My Beagle Bailey had a great time with his new friends. Oana and Oliver were very accommodating to my dog’s needs. For example, Bailey was gradually introduced to the other dogs so he would not be overwhelmed in the beginning. And we received lots of captivating pictures of Bailey having a blast. Oana and Oliver truly know how to make a dog feel right at home.”

“Elizabeth and her kids took amazing care of Bean! Elizabeth was incredibly accommodating in setting up a space for Bean in her home and truly went above and beyond. She also sent various updates and photos throughout Bean's stay with her. Would definitely recommend!”

“Belinda was amazing with Juno and helped out while I was at work for a work trip! Juno had a great time and it was amazing knowing Juno was in great care! Thank you so much!”

“Jack was fabulous with my lazy and stubborn dog Wiggins! He kept in contact with us all day and let us know how he was doing. He also was willing to take us last minute and was super flexible with timing.”

“Ben and his family took great care of Zelda and were very accommodating of our busy schedule. She came home happy and well exercised from playing with their pups all day. We will definitely book with Ben again!”
“Cheuck was an excellent sitter for our dog Simka. We basically never leave her with someone we don’t know, but he made us comfortable from the beginning and she had a great time. It was fun to see photos and videos throughout her stay.”

“August was such a great babysitter for our dog Honey. We really appreciate the care she received including walks and treats. She had a great time playing with their dog Miu Miu. We appreciate it very much.”

About: I’m an Assistant Professor at Tufts and adore dogs. I'm a dog dad to a friendly three-year-old mixed breed named Brody. I work mostly from home and live in a sun-filled 2-bedroom apartment in Medford, which means pets get lots of attention, companionship, and frequent walks throughout the day. Brody is extremely good with other dogs and calibrates his energy well: playful when appropriate, but also respectful of boundaries and very good at sharing space, toys, and attention. I’m very attentive to routines, feeding schedules, exercise, and making sure pets feel calm and comfortable while their owners are away. I'm also happy to provide regular updates/photos for peace of mind. I work mostly from home and wake up early, so I’m able to provide an early morning walk (around 8 a.m.), a midday walk, and then a longer evening walk. Once a day I usually take my own dog, Brody, to Tufts Park where he can run off leash. I’m very happy to keep your dog on leash if that’s your preference, or alternatively take them to a fenced-in dog park instead. I'm conscientious about balancing exercise, stimulation, and calm downtime throughout the day depending on every dog’s personality and energy level. My apartment is clean, quiet, and very dog-friendly, with lots of natural light and multiple places for pets to relax and sleep. I have a raised dog bed near the window that dogs love, along with a couple of different sleeping/resting options depending on where they feel most comfortable. I’m careful about cleanliness and usually wipe pets down once a day after walks to keep them clean and comfortable. Since I’m home most of the day, pets get a lot of supervision, companionship, and attention, and I’m generally very attentive to routines and making sure they feel safe and settled.
About: Hello! I'm a Health and Nutrition Coach for humans and soon, animals. I'm currently studying animal health and nutrition and am pursuing advanced training and certification as a dog/cat nutritionist. I offer FREE pick up and drop off to Arlington dogs or within a 2 mile radius of my house. I live directly across from the newly opened dog park in Arlington, if that's something you think your dog might enjoy. I offer 1 hr. park visits to those who live nearby (within a 2 mile radius of Parallel Park). You can book a 1 hour visit in the dog walking section. I will pick up your dog, bring them to the park and bring them home. It's a nice place to go if your dog could use a little more exercise and might like to run around with other dogs or play fetch. If the park is too busy or the dogs don't seem like a good fit for your dog, we'll take a long walk along the river path instead. I generally do my coaching from home and walk about 10 dogs a week midday, in which case, I may be out of the house for a few hours M-F. This allows me to give the dogs staying with me lots of attention. I have a 3 year old Frenchton (1/2 French Bulldog, 1/2 Boston Terrier) named Maisy who is well socialized and loves most dogs. I can accommodate housesitting requests that allow Maisy to join me, after we ensure everyone gets on well. I will suggest we do a meet and greet in a neutral location for both housesitting and boarding -- maybe take a walk or let them run around in the park to see how they get along. Boarding can be a little stressful, especially when they first arrive. I always try and meet them where they are to be sure they have whatever time and space they may need to get acclimated to their new environment. I have a private suite for anyone that might like a safe space to themselves. I've used it to host seniors, dogs who have medical challenges as well as shy and senior cats. It's a large space with comfy beds, a big chaise lounge where they can look out the windows and it's bright and cheerful. I often do my morning work in there and will snuggle up with whoever is interested. I'm always interested in your pets quirks--and what I may be able to do to help them get comfortable quickly. I'd be grateful for any *pro tips* you have to ensure we get off to a great start together! I generally take 1-2 dogs at a time so they get lots of attention and I can customize their care. This is not a kennel environment. I do occasionally will take an extra dog here and there over the holidays and busy summer weekends. I included pics of my home in the photo gallery. I have a guest bedroom where dogs can sleep on the bed and stretch out, if they prefer. I have a nice sunroom that is all windows and has a comfy chaise lounge for long afternoon naps. I have a fireplace and love to keep my home calm and cozy on winter evenings. If your dog is crate trained, I have a medium size crate that I can set up for anyone who prefers it. It will hold a dog up to 45 lbs. You can also bring your own. I can only host dogs that get along well with other dogs and have a naturally calm demeanor. I can not take barkers. I live in an active neighborhood with a playground and dog park across the street. There are kids and dogs in and out all day and the dogs in my home can see them from the windows. There is lots of activity, the house's are close together and I have a very quiet upstairs neighbor. I want to respect and protect everyone's peace around me and not cause problems. If your dog sits at the window and barks at everything outside, they will likely be too overstimulated at my place and are probably not a good fit for boarding. I'd be happy to watch them at your house! ABOUT HOUSESITTING: If I am hired to housesit your pets, I'm happy to take care of your plants, water your garden and even feed your chicken's -- it's all included. I will also have Maisy with me, so I can only accommodate dogs/cats that will tolerate her. She is 3 and loves to play, eat and nap. We have housesat a fair amount and she seems to communicate well with other dogs. If they're not into her, she usually gets it after some dog to dog communication and will just leave them be. If they want to play, she will be thrilled to play. She's pretty good at reading the room and she will correct a dog that tries to hump her! I have a flexible schedule. I do most of my coaching from home and walk about 10 dogs a week. I do my best to respond to all requests within an hour until about 9, when I often turn off the tech til morning. If I respond to you and am available, please let me know *either way* whether you are interested. Rover holds the space in our calendar and we often can't accept other booking opportunities until we hear back from you. Thank you! I recommend a meet and greet in advance of me caring for your pet(s). I want to be sure that we are a good fit and the more information I have, the easier and more smoothly things will likely go. If I am caring for a pet in my home or yours, they generally have the run of the place, unless, of course, that would mess up your hard earned training. I take my lead from you and would greatly appreciate clear instructions on caring for your dog or cat to make sure he/she has a great overall experience with me. I generally feed dogs from different families separately regardless of a dogs temperament. I have a "no bones" policy if there are dogs from different families sharing a house together. From lots of experience, I've seen the most sweet, submissive dogs turn into little monsters if another dog attempts to steal their bone or try and eat their food. I work on prevention of those types of behaviors. If you want your dog crated during various times of the day or night, I have crates and can accommodate your dog. If they're not allowed on the beds or furniture, I understand and will keep the same rules. If they like nothing better than snuggling with you on the couch in the evening, that won't change either.
“Deveney took great care of our dog, and she kindly accommodated a last minute booking and a later night pick up which was most appreciated! She sent great updates and pictures regularly and was quickly responsive.”

West Medford dog parents share their Rover experiences
Unfortunately, one of my dogs has cancer and I have a week of early morning trainings for work. (530a drop offs- Yikes!). Yesika is still willing to take her every day, work with the energy that she has that day, and offs care across the day (additional small meals, medication for nausea, etc). So glad that I have this resource.

Jacky and Harley were gracious enough to accept sitting for my 15 week old puppy for 3 consecutive days at their home while I had to be at the office. This was my first experience with Rover and I was skeptical about handing my little girl off to a stranger, but Jacky put me at ease, even agreeing to me with us to get acquainted prior to the appointment. Everyday I got routine updates with the sweetest pictures of my pup and Harley having the best time together. It was comforting to know she was being well cared for during the day and at pickup time I’d be bringing home an exhausted puppy, giving me some time to unwind after a long day of work. I can’t recommend Jacky and Harley enough, thank you!!

Janette and her family, including their dog Luna, are so wonderful to our dog, Lenny. She is so kind and communicative! Lenny loves spending time with them and going for walks in their beautiful neighborhood. Thank you so much for taking such great care of our dog!

Elizabeth and Rodrigo were great with Oscar. They were flexible when I needed to shift my drop-off and pickup times, which made my day so much easier. They sent a few photos throughout the day too, which I always love getting. Oscar came home tired and happy, so he clearly had a good time. Would book with them again in a heartbeat. Thanks you two!

Jessica was wonderful with my dog. She was a great communicator and kept me updated, which really put me at ease. She took my dog on nice walks around her neighborhood and clearly cared about making sure she was happy and well taken care of. I’d definitely book with her again!
