“I cannot recommend him enough! Over the 10 days he walked our two pups, Picaron and Polo, he was consistently warm, reliable, and incredibly thoughtful. Every update was detailed, playful, and full of personality, like little love letters about my dogs’ day. From keeping water bowls fresh, noting quirky potty habits, cleaning Polo’s fur when he got a little too curious, to capturing adorable photos every day, he clearly loves what he does. We felt completely at ease knowing our dogs were not only safe, but also having fun and forming a bond with someone who truly cared. He even knew who was doing fake limps for attention (Polo 😂). It’s rare to find someone this communicative, caring, and tuned in. If you’re lucky enough to book him, do it!”

“Yang is great! I've booked her a few times, and she has taken care of both my dog and cat. She is always on time, prompt on responding, and reliable. Additionally, she has been flexible and able to help me out in a pinch when I've needed to book last minute. We love Yang and (have already) recommend her to anyone who is looking to book a reliable/trustworthy pet sitter.”

“Thank you Olesia for watching our boys! You were absolutely amazing!!! You kept is updated with photos and messages and followed all our instructions perfectly. I know our high energy puppy is a lot of work! Thank you again.”

“Lauren was great - she came for a meet and greet, had great questions, arrived right on time, and followed all instructions! I would definitely book again.”

“Nicola has been incredible. My pup can be a bit anxious, and Nicola has been such a warm and generous presence for her. I was nervous about having someone start to walk her regularly, but Nicola clearly loves and understands dogs. She is also super professional and communicative and has made the whole experience so easy. Strongly recommend working with Nicola!”

“Katheryn was amazing, super helpful and communicative. Our dog puppy had an accident before she was picked up and Katheryn gave her a bath. Truly above and beyond.”

“Lala cared for our dog twice / day everyday! She was very attentive, communicative and truly spoiled our dog in the best way. She made us feel comfortable being gone knowing our dog was in great hands. Would work with her again 10/10!”

“Honor is an amazing pet sitter! She is a true animal lover and just has a very welcoming and warm presence! She takes care of feeding our cat and walking our crazy 8 month old pup. Her pup Murphy is also a perfect companion to help tire out your pup! Highly recommend, will use her again and again.”
“Samuel did a great job walking my dog when I last minute needed help! He sent a nice photo after so I could tell my dog had a nice time, and he was communicative. Would recommend!”

About: Hi there! I'm Charlie, and I'm passionate about providing excellent care to your four legged family members. I have been working with dogs professionally for seven years, starting as a dog handler at a doggie daycare, then moving on to teach group classes for puppy training, basic obedience, and agility at a dog training facility, then specializing in puppy socialization at a local puppy dayschool! I value the comfort and wellbeing of any creature I work with, both physical and emotional, which is why I abide by force free/fear free methods. I am well versed in dog body language, have a good understanding of the principles of dog behavior and positive reinforcement based training, as well as early puppyhood development. I'm not just a dog person though - ever since I was a kid, I always had cats! In addition to having my own pet cats, I fostered pregnant mama cats and their kittens. I hope you consider choosing me to care for your best pals! I am available for walks and drop ins with pretty flexible availability, and am more than happy to drop by to love on your pet while you're at work! I care about ensuring that your pet is comfortable, safe, and happy, which is why I use force free/fear free methods in every interaction. Your pet deserves to feel comfortable with me and have their emotional needs respected in addition to their physical needs. And of course, I want your pet to have fun when they're with me! I like to keep things playful and lighthearted on any walk or drop-in. That's the best thing about pets!

“Kristin was amazing with our dog Bella! Clear communication, regular updates with photos, and our pup comes home happy every time. Bella clearly loved her walks with Kristin and we trust her completely. Highly recommend!”

“I was super happy to find Sally for a dog walk on short notice. She was super attentive to details and I was completely at ease that my pup would be safe with her. She was very easy to communicate with and my dog clearly loved her. Thanks Sally!”

“Javier was absolutely fantastic with my blind and leash-reactive Winnie. During walks, he took steps to prevent her from lunging at other dogs and eating food refuse on the ground - both of which are very hard to do. He is very knowledgeable about dogs, and it is obvious that he loves them a great deal. He is also extremely caring, responsible, respectful, and trustworthy. There is no one I would trust more to care for my dog.”

“Heidi saved us when we were in the city with our dog and needed someone to watch him for an hour. She was kind and easy to communicate with. Our dog was relaxed with her and I'd definitely have her watch our dog in the future.”

Lala is simply the best! My anxious/awkward guy isn’t the easiest with walks (stranger danger, loud sounds, selective liking of other dogs) and Lala is so attuned to his needs! Her progress reports have helped us in our day-to-day as well. She’s simply the best! 💛

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in San Francisco. On Rover:
- 90% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
