About: I am a college student at Marquette University here for the summer. I have always loved and had dogs growing up, and would love the chance to hangout with yours! I have an internship Monday through Thursday, so I am available from Friday through Sunday, and potentially evenings during the week. Also early mornings (around 6). I am happy to walk, run, feed, or just play with your pets if they need some attention! I can also water plants/take care of your house while I’m there.
“Debi was amazing. She jumped into action only minutes after my request for help. I could not have asked for a better walker and caretaker for my pup. Thanks for going above and beyond the call of duty.”

“Sheryl has been an excellent dog walker and caregiver to our sweet Luna. She was always willing to accommodate our last-minute changes, and she would promptly reply to these requests. I recommend her highly!”

It’s been such a rewarding experience and I just would like to do that more often!! I’ve got a spacious living room and bedroom that cats absolutely love! With plenty of room to roam and explore, they can find their perfect spot to lounge and relax!!
“Derek is gentle, calm, and incredibly caring with my very shy, easily spooked dogs. My dog, Carter; warmed up to him quickly, and she looks happy and relaxed during their walks. My biggest priority is safety and making sure Carter’s boundaries are respected — she does not like unfamiliar people or dogs touching/approaching her. Derek truly cares about making my dogs feel comfortable.”

About: I’ve had 2 dogs from puppy through adulthood over the last 20 years and have given tens of thousands of walks. I recently moved to Berkeley, and would truly love to have fun putting my dog walking skills to use with your pup. Able to offer same-day evening requests as well as any other time of day with 1+ day notice. Also able to give long 1+ hour evening walks at $25/hr! Whether it's dog walks, cat care, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, litter box maintenance, medication schedules, or overnight stays, I focus on making sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you're away. I'm comfortable caring for both dogs and cats with different personalities, energy levels, and routines. I pride myself on being patient, communicative, and reliable, and I provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you're away. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine because I have a flexible schedule and enjoy staying active. “Sarah is awesome & so obviously a dog person. She was very sweet with Rafa, and corrected him when necessary. He seemed to take to her right away and even gave her a little lick goodbye (he can be stingy with kisses). Would definitely recommend her!”

“Jessica and her partner Wyatt are amazing with our pup! He is high energy and loves to play, but requires some extra attention. They are both patient (yet still firm when he needs discipline). They take great care when walking him and give him the treats we leave out and some play time before they leave. We will continue using them when our guy Rocco needs a midday walk— he loves going out with them!”

“Lexx made time to do a meet and greet with Panda on a Friday evening and was great working with her (even though Panda tends to be barky and anxious). She followed our instructions and left a detailed description of her walk! Would definitely recommend Lexx!”

“Isaiah was a great, reliable, and caring dog walker!! He agreed to walk my dog when I was in a last minute pickle. My puppy Juno absolutely loves him, and he gave very comprehensive summaries of their walks. I hope to work with him more in the future!”
“I had an unexpected time crunch, and I needed someone to walk my dog while I was away from home for 7 hours. Huckleberry was dependable and capable, and my dog clearly enjoyed being with him. Definitely recommend him.”

About: I have been a caregiver for animals from a very young age. Over the years, I have had a wide assortment of pets: Dogs, cats, fish, turtles, snakes, hamsters, bunnies and more! I have completed many dog handling courses through SF-SPCA and Oakland-SPCA, including an intensive course for reactive dogs after adopting a large breed, reactive dog from SF-SPCA. I work from home and have a flexible schedule. Early morning and late afternoons work best. But, we can work with you to accommodate any schedule. In addition to caring for my own animals, I have helped others with their pets when they are on vacation or away from the home. In fact, it was probably my first job as a teenager.

Sonia was absolutely wonderful with my dog, Bubba, while I was out of town. She was kind, attentive, responsive, and incredibly responsible. It was clear that she genuinely cared about Bubba's well-being, and I appreciated the updates and communication throughout his stay. Knowing he was in such great hands allowed me to enjoy my trip without worry. I highly recommend Sonia to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter or dog walker!

We were is lucky to find Sara! She was very communicative and took such care with our elderly dog. She was quick to notice little changes in his routine and point them out to us, which were very helpful in keeping him in good health. She was flexible to his needs. Sara gave us great piece of mind when we had to leave him alone during the day -even on days when he wasn't feeling his best. So thankful!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
