Sarah replied promptly to my last-minute request for a mid-day check-in/potty break for my two dogs, and continued to communicate promptly with me as I emailed info about our home setup and their needs and possible issues. She was on time for the visit itself and sent me photos to let me all was well. I was very relieved since I had signed up with Rover the app years ago just in case I’d need it, but it was the first time I’d actually used the service and wasn’t sure how things would. But I’m very satisfied with how it all worked out!

About: Animals have always been a very important part of my life. Growing up, my mother operated a small pet rescue and animal shelter organization in Asia, and from a very young age I helped care for rescued dogs, cats, and abandoned animals alongside her. Over the years, we helped rescue and rehome thousands of animals, many of whom came from difficult or traumatic situations. caring for animals feels completely natural to me. I do not see pets as “just animals.” I genuinely believe they are family members who deserve love, patience, emotional safety, and respect. In many ways, I believe animals carry one of the purest forms of unconditional love, and sometimes they deserve even more kindness and gentleness than humans receive. I have experience caring for pets with very different personalities, medical conditions, and emotional needs, including senior pets, rescue animals, anxious dogs, and cats requiring medication and special routines. I am highly attentive to behavioral changes, feeding routines, emotional comfort, cleanliness, and creating calm environments where animals feel safe and relaxed.

About: I have always been a huge fan of animals, ever since I was a child. My family has had many dogs throughout the years, as well as cats, reptiles, and even fish at a time. I am very social and respectful of both the owners and the pets, and am looking to help however I can. In the case that I am unavailable or out of town, I would also highly recommend my good friend Kaia B as another option, as she has helped my family many times in the past and is super friendly and great with pets. https://www.rover.com/members/kaia-b-experienced-dog-walker/?bep=brand%3Drover%26event%3Daccount-sign-in-google-success I just graduated university so I have a lot of free time on my hands and am happy to housesit or take care of pets whenever works best for the owners. A proper balance of love, play, and respect. I make sure my pets know they are loved and cared for, and play with them if they want and let them rest if needed. I am happy to take pets on walks or follow certain procedures or training in order to maintain routine for the pets if necessary as well.

Vivian was wonderful with Honey. They knew just what to do and gave me great tips to help with her issues of separation anxiety and crate training. They took a walk during the 3 hrs I worked and I never heard any barking as I had in the past. I really appreciated that they made themselves available at late notice and the thoughtful care they used in dealing with Honey.

About: Whether high-energy pups or senior dogs needing a softer touch, I’ve built strong bonds with dogs of all ages, temperaments, and needs. I’m often the sitter called when a dog needs extra presence, patience, or someone who just “gets” them. I grew up always having dogs, and they are some of the best emotional support a person can ever get, and I think they deserve the same! Many dog parents have told me their pets don’t usually take to strangers — or men — but often within an hour, we’re friends. As long as their person is there in approval! I don’t rush connection. I listen, I observe, and I let each dog feel safe and that they have their space until they trust me to lead and care for them. Recent Dog house-sits have included: • A 1.5-year-old German Shepherd–Husky mix with boundless energy and some behavioral challenges who doesn't get along with his housemate, • A 15-year-old Border Collie–Akita senior companion with mobility needs. She has such a sweet heart, and she just needed to have her space protected, and they were able to start walking regularly together with me! • A 17-year-old Chihuahua-Chow mix with memory loss and low vision who is afraid of most people. It took him 2 months to bond with his "dad!" With support from his "mom," we were buddies within 30 min, and they are repeat clients! • A 17-year-old Beagle who doesn't like to be touched by anyone — but gave plenty of kisses and playfulness once she trusted me From long walks to short sniff sessions, playtime to quiet companionship, I adjust to each dog’s energy and needs. I treat your dog the way I’d want someone to treat mine — with genuine care, attunement, and respect for their space. My schedule & flexibility: I am pet sitting for my program and work remotely most days for Creative Generations, my pre-professional ballet dancer mentorship and wellness program! So I'm home and available for pet care, walks, and companionship throughout the day. Saturdays (and occasional Sundays): I coach some dancers and may be away for 4–5 hours. Once or twice a week (often Fridays): I help out at a friend's calm, quiet local shop. If you want, I've occasionally brought smaller, well-behaved dogs with me when appropriate—always with permission and only if the dog is comfortable! 🏡 How I Care for Pets in Their Home I treat every home I stay in with the same care, respect, and calm energy that I would my own. I know how important it is that your pet feels safe and secure in their space, especially while you’re away. I always begin with a calm, gentle introduction — usually a 20-minute visit — to make sure your pet feels at ease with me before I arrive for the sit. I pay close attention to their body language and routines, so the transition is smooth and stress-free. During my stay, I keep things peaceful, tidy, and consistent. I respect house rules and your pet’s routines — meal times, walks, play, downtime — so they feel supported, not disrupted.

Our cat is very shy and cat sitters barely see him when doing check-ins. Somehow Rebecca gained his trust on the second day and he was comfortable being approached and pet. It made us feel better being away knowing that our cat wasn’t hiding the whole time we were gone. I’d definitely reach out to Rebecca again in the future.

About: I am compassionate about dogs and truly want them to enjoy themselves in my home. As an animal shelter volunteer at OAS, I am particularly experienced in helping shy dogs relax! I WFH from Monday to Friday, so I provide breakfast and a AM walk just before I start my work day. During the work day, I provide potty breaks in my private, fully fenced yard. After work, I can provide a PM walk, dinner, and evening cuddles! Your pup will have my 15lb dog as a buddy during the day. I WFH for 5 days a week, and my husband WFH for 2 days a week. The dogs have access to a fully fenced private backyard to play and sunbathe.

About: I am the definition of an animal lover and find so much joy in caring for pets. I have cared for cats and dogs of all sizes, breeds and ages. My typical day with a cat: brushing their hair, playing with a laser or bird toy, making sure they have clean water and food, cleaning their litter box, and giving them occasional treats. My typical day with a dog: feeding, providing plenty of fresh water, playing fetch at the dog park or playing in the house, lots of belly rubs, leash at all times, and walks, walks, walks! I look forward to spending quality time with your furry companion. I am available M-S for bookings and I am currently doing Rover full-time. I am flexible with my availability. I can do check-ins, walks and overnight pet sitting at your home. When I am caring for pets in their homes, I become familiar with their routines and continue these routines during my time with them. I provide water, food, play and plenty of walks. I also make sure to leave your house clean, tidy and am happy to do light house sitting tasks such as watering plants and picking up the mail.

About: Hello, my name is Hazar and I’m a local teacher but also a huge animal lover! I’ve gotten to house and pet sit for close family friends several times. I’ve also been caring for homes/pets through Trusted House Sitters for the last 2 years. I’m especially excited to be a sitter for people within my community, and take some nearby opportunities! At work, I am responsible for 28 children and their well being. I know what it means to take care of someone else's precious child, and will bring that same care into your home! I’ll work with your schedule! I am free most weekends and evenings. I can stay overnight with your pet and take care of their needs while you’re on vacation…or take them on their evening walk if you’re running late from work. Your pets safety is my number 1 priority! I’ll follow your instructions of care very closely. Just as I’d treat your pet with care, I’ll also be very considerate while being in your home. You can expect regular communication from me unless you note otherwise.

Beatrice did a fantastic job caring for my two cats, Max and Nano, while I was away dealing with a family health crisis. She handled a challenging situation -- one of the cats had been in the ER the day before I left, with meds to take but an uncertain diagnosis -- calmly and creatively. She provided detailed reports that helped me understand my cats' condition, and she went the extra mile to ensure they were taken care of when I couldn't return until very late in the evening. She even brought her own toys to enrich the play sessions. I returned to happy cats and a much better situation than when I left. Beatrice will be my go-to cat sitter from this point forward and I highly recommend her to others in the Berkeley area.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Cat Sitting in Albany on Rover is $26.75 per visit (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Cat Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Cat Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 5,805 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Albany. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Albany. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
