“Shelly was fantastic! Kitty was unhappy after a recent minor surgery and had to wear a cone to prevent her from licking her stitches. Shelly was still able to administer meds and left with kitty purring! I was able to relax and enjoy my vacation thanks to Shelly’s good work. I would definitely recommend her!”

“Christine has been a wonderful sitter; she’s very tuned into my two cats’ emotional states, and very communicative with me about how they’re faring. One of my boys can be pretty shy around new people, especially if his mommy isn’t around, but he was immediately receptive to her! I’m grateful to feel so at ease when traveling, thanks to her help :)”

“Emilia is very responsible and I also appreciated her upbeat personality. We, and our four legged kiddos would love to have her back. This was not an easy assignment since there was no way to reach us during our absence and our kitty did surprise us all.”

“This is the second time I've booked with Michaela and she's been amazing both times. Her communication is great, my cats love her, and she was fantastic about working around a surprise elevator issue at my building!”

“Emilia-Laura was wonderful with Sola, very prompt with communication and incredibly reliable with handling all of her medication and feeding needs. I could tell my cat was very happy to have me home, but I could also tell she was thoroughly cared for while I was away. I will definitely be requesting her services again!”

“Erik was fantastic. He was punctual and sweet with our puppy, Millie. She had a lovely walk with him and she went to the dog park and met a puppy friend. Eric has a friendly demeanor and is very calm and clearly a dog lover. I appreciated all the pictures that showed me what a nice time they had together. We will definitely use him in the future.”

“Lia is the best! She takes such good care of my dog and always goes above and beyond. You can tell she really loves what she does, my pup is always so happy to see her. She gives great updates and sends the cutest pics too. Would recommend her to anyone!”

“Sandra was absolutely fantastic caring for my older cats who need lots of attention. She was incredible with communication and arrived on time through two separate bookings. She is very consistent! My two cats were very comfortable with her and seemed to be excited to see her when she would arrive. I highly recommend.”

“Jamarca really went above and beyond in taking care of my senior kitty while I was on vacation. She sent great photos and kept me in close communication so that I could enjoy time away without worrying.”

“Jen did an amazing job watching our cat! She was thorough, communicative, and followed all instructions. Her check in’s were great with lots of pictures and descriptions of each visit. Definitely recommend Jen for all your pet sitting needs!!”

“Thank you so much for taking such great care of my fur baby! I was able to enjoy my vacation knowing he was in get care. I loved getting pictures and a report while away. Thank you, Shirley!!!”

About: Hi there, I’m Kendra (she/they). I grew up always having pets around... They have always been considered a part of our family! I’ve taken care of dogs and cats of all temperaments, breeds and sizes. My senior and medical care experience sets me apart from other pet sitters! I used to work in healthcare *for humans* so I am comfortable with medical-related matters. EXPERIENCED WITH: • Cats • Dog reactivity • Separation anxiety • Senior animals • Animals with medical needs and/or disabilities (specifically wheelchair support, diaper changes, bladder expression, medicine administration, allergies, vision & hearing loss) SCHEDULE: I currently have the flexibility to do check-ins, walks and have play time with your fur babies as needed. I spend my time studying for online classes, teaching group exercise (2 days/week) and volunteering. If I do leave the house, I limit my time away from your pet to no more than 6 hours (if that doesn't work for your pet, we can discuss my constant care rate). Before I leave your home, I will make sure that your fur baby has been fed, played with/exercised, and has relieved themselves. SAFETY: •To keep both myself and your pet safe, they will always be leashed in public spaces. •If pets under my care seem to be adapting well, with owner permission, I like to take them on field trips to places like the park, on hikes or to my house. •I live in a house with a secure, fenced yard for your pup to play in. I only take one client at a time and we don't have any other pets so your pet will be showered in all the love and belly scratches my roommates have to offer! POLICIES: • Every client must either have a credit card on file with their preferred vet and/or feel comfortable with providing a form of payment that I can use on your behalf if a vet visit is necessary. • Every client must agree to disclose whether they have pet cams/live surveillance of their house and where these cameras are located. SLIDING SCALE RATES: • If you find that my rates are inaccessible to you, we can negotiate to find a rate that works within your budget while also respecting my expertise. I use the green bottle theory (fourth photo on my profile) to help determine sliding scale rates. • Conversation regarding this is facilitated during our M&G (meet and greet) upon request. • Always available for QTBIPOC clients!
“Laura is absolutely phenomenal with my 2 cats. One of my cats got a stomach bug while I was away, and Laura went above and beyond to make sure that she was okay. I’m so grateful she was there to look after her - I feel so much better leaving knowing that Laura is checking on them.”

“Jes is absolutely amazing! Jes is responsive, accommodating, kind, and very sweet with our cat child. We have a shy, rescue kitty that Jes immediately bonded with and we are now comfortable leaving town knowing that we have Jes checking in on our cat. Absolutely recommend Jes to anyone and everyone!”

“I would trust Zoe to take care of my cat any time any day! They were so great with giving my cat Marny the love and care she needed while I was gone and was even able to trim some of Marny’s nails (something very hard to do haha). I appreciate the thought and care Zoe put into taking care of Marny and would really recommend their services when leaving on a trip. :)”

“Everything appeared to be taken care of to my specifications and my cats were happy and healthy when I got home! Matthew was also very communicative and friendly throughout my time being gone. Will book with him again!”

Tammy always takes great and consistent care of each of our 3 cats (food, water, litter, play) and is particularly skilled at engaging the cats in fun play, which is so important for the cats' health and well-being. Tammy's signature action shot photos and written updates in the Rover cards are always a treat to see when on vacation. Tammy is really tuned in to each cat's unique personality.

“Fernando was the ideal sitter for my two picky cats! He won them over almost instantly and took wonderful care of them. Food, water, and litter were always in perfect shape while I was away. My cats barely noticed I was back, that’s how well he spoiled them haha. You won’t go wrong booking Fernando :)

Devyn was the sweetest and took great care of our fur babies during each drop in visit this past weekend. The updates and photos that she sent us each day made us feel like our pets were safe and comfortable with her. One of our pets, Dexter, is a little tough to crack, but Devyn was able to get her to open up to her a bit more with her favorite toy! We can't wait to book Devyn again and highly recommend her to anyone needing a reliable and sweet pet sitter for their pets!!

V was absolutely wonderful. They took excellent care of our diabetic kitty, who has multiple daily medications to take. They were very detail oriented, always on time, and regular with updates. Unexpectedly, we received some very large packages while we were out, and V kindly moved those into the house for us!!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Emeryville. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
