Latricia is a really kind person who has taken wonderful care of our dog during boarding and day care. He clearly loves seeing Latricia and hanging out with his dog buddies at her pad. And she sends us really adorable photos every time! We'll definitely continue using her services. Thanks Latricia!

Another great stay with Sophia! My dog can sometimes be too nervous to eat when she's away from home even ate her dinner at Sophia's place - a good sign that she's relaxed.

If you're anything like me, the guilt of being away at work all day weighs on me, but knowing that instead, my fur-baby is now getting tons of attention, pets, walks, and love puts my mind at ease. Getting cuddles from Van Joseph and Matthew, the company of their sweet little dogs, and soft blankets to sleep in is priceless! I got so many precious photos which brightened my day! Overjoyed to have found Van Joseph and Matthew to care for my sweet girl Petunia!!

About: Hey there! 🐾 My Wi-Fi name is "House of Dogues". That probably tells you everything you need to know about me. I've been around pups my whole life: walks, sits, feedings, bath time, you name it. Friends, family, neighbors have all trusted me with their fur babies, and I take that seriously. But also I make it really fun. Here's what makes me a little different: I follow the dog's lead. Some pups want a big adventure. Others want a slow sniff-everything kind of walk (honestly iconic). On our walks, they pick the route. I'm just happy to be invited. I also put together little enrichment activities because a stimulated dog is a happy dog, and yes, I talk to them like they understand everything I'm saying, because they do. I'm a big dog park person too, but I'm picky about it in the best way. I stick to parks where I already know the people and the dogs, so I know exactly what kind of environment your pup is walking into. No surprises, just good socialization with faces I trust. When your dog stays with me, they get a whole day tailored to their vibe: cozy, active, or somewhere in between. And you? You'll get so many photo and video updates you might actually forget you miss them. Might. At home I live with Totó, my shichihuahua who is fully convinced he runs this household (he does). He's taught me everything about big personality in a small body, and he's an excellent host. I have a special soft spot for senior dogs. I know how to give them the patience, gentleness, and extra love they deserve. My clients always say the same two things: they got way more updates than they expected, and they finally felt okay leaving their dog with someone. That's the whole goal. 🐶 I work remotely, which means I'm home most of the day and genuinely available, no scrambling, no rushing. Midday walk? Morning sit? Last-minute check-in? I can make it work. Pet care isn't something I squeeze into my routine, it basically IS my routine. Your dog will never feel like an afterthought. Safety is everything to me, and so is making sure your pet actually enjoys their time. In your home, I follow your instructions closely, keep things clean and consistent, and make sure your pup always has water, food, and lots of love. On walks, I stick to routes and parks I know well, with dogs and people I already trust. No random off-leash situations, no surprises. At my place, it's calm, cozy, and very much a dog household (my Wi-Fi is literally called "House of Dogs"). Totó, my shichihuahua, is a great host as long as you respect that he's in charge.

Courtney is amazing! Llew has boarded a few times with her (we don’t trust him with anyone else) and this was his first time experiencing Doggy Daycare!! He LOVED it and anytime we pulled onto the street he would be in a rush to go inside and wouldn’t look back. Courtney not only cares so much, but she has also definitely helped with training as I feel like Llew has definitely picked up on Oliver’s great habits. He’s more confident and calm! Courtney has excellent communication and also sends multiple updates and pics throughout the day. Llew is fixed now, but before he’d want to constantly play (puppy energy) and Ollie would always play with Llew no matter what (even if he was tired). He is the sweetest dog. We are so thankful for Courtney and her family!

About: I've taken care of many dogs from chihuahua's, poodle mixes, corgi's and pointers. I have the most experience with small dogs but would love to take care of your large pups too! I have experience caring for and feeding medication to senior dogs from Muttville in San Francisco and lived and cared for a very anxious corgi for two years so have a lot of experience navigating and understanding when a dog needs space. I cannot wait to meet your pup! I'm starting grad school in late august so have plenty of time to play with your pups! I'm available weekdays and weekends for now and will update my schedule once school is back in session. I have a small fenced in yard if the pup needs a quiet enclosed area to play in. I have experience crating anxious corgis and giving medication and am willing to follow any rules you have to ensure good training and safety for your dog. Ultimately, I just want you and your pet to be comfortable!

About: I’m a full time artist and WFH sitter with over 15 years of experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages including Puppies, seniors, special needs pets, and sensitive personalities. I live a calm and quiet lifestyle with my senior corgi, Mochi, and my sweet, dog friendly cat, Mumu. Because I’m home most of the day, your pet will get steady attention, a peaceful environment, and care that never feels rushed. My dog Mochi is 10 and has had many health issues, including back leg mobility problems. Caring for her has given me strong experience with senior dogs, medication schedules, mobility support, slow routines, anxious pets and even stroller walks. I grew up with many pets, so caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life. I’ve experienced a negligent sitter in the past whose carelessness sent my dog to the hospital. Because of that I take this work extremely seriously. I’m attentive, detail oriented, cautious and I never take shortcuts especially with older or delicate pets. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. Because I’m an artist I’ll sometimes doodle a small portrait of your pet if time allows, just a little gift for you. A little about why I joined Rover: I recently moved into a larger space which has allowed me to comfortably host more pets. I also decided to start pet sitting as a way to help offset the rising costs of my senior dog’s insurance. It’s important to me that I can continue providing the best care for her and Rover lets me do that while offering attentive, reliable care to other pets as well. I WFH so I’m home most of the day. Pet care fits naturally into my routine I already have a senior dog with daily feeding, meds so I’m used to gentle and structured care throughout the day. I take breaks to give pets attention, walks, playtime and lots of calm company. Your pet would be part of my daily rhythm not an afterthought I maintain a calm and supervised home where safety comes first. Pets get slow introductions and secure spaces and constant oversight since I work from home. My corgi is crate-trained and my cat has high-ground access so everyone has their own safe zones. I follow your schedule exactly : feeding, walks, meds, and activities so your pet stays on their normal routine. They’ll have a safe comfortable place to play or nap all day and can sleep with me at night if they'd like to. Diet & Feeding I follow your pet’s exact feeding schedule and portion sizes to keep everything consistent. I always make sure pets stay hydrated, especially in warmer weather. I feed my dog and guest dogs separately to avoid any food guarding or stress during mealtimes. Hygiene & Cleanliness I keep pets clean and comfortable throughout the day : wiping paws if needed, cleaning eye discharge and keeping their space tidy. I’m very detailoriented about maintaining a clean safe environment. Walk Safety All dogs are leashed outdoors at all times. I stay alert around other dogs separate pets immediately if there are signs of stress or tension and prevent ground eating or unsafe sniffing areas. I’m always attentive and I clean up after them every time. Sleeping Arrangements My own dog prefers her own bed and doesn’t sleep with me but your dog is welcome to sleep wherever they feel comfortable whether that’s in their own bed, the crate or in the bed with me for extra comfort. I make sure every pet has a safe cozy sleeping setup.

Hong was AMAZING with my dog! I could not have asked for a better daycare experience. Hong sent updates all day long, so I always knew exactly what my dog was up to — plus she took amazing photos! She followed my dog’s schedule closely and made sure she was playing and active throughout the day. My dog can be nervous around men, but Hong’s husband was so patient and loving with her — he took the time to get to know her, and by the end of the day she was curled up cuddling with him. Honestly, I think my dog would rather live with them at this point! They communicated through a translator app and were incredibly responsive and easy to coordinate with. Can’t recommend Hong enough. As of August 2026, there are 4,764 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Emeryville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Emeryville commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 4,764 sitters in Emeryville, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
