“Jenny and her partner are wonderful! They are super friendly and kind people so we felt super comfortable leaving our boy Carmine with them. He came back health and calm.”

“Thank you Celia for another day of caring for my baby Georgie! He had such a blast with you, I was so relaxed all day knowing he was having a great time. Lots of updates and spoiling like he was your own!”

“Ingyin is very sweet and she was swift to reply to my texts which is a huge plus in my books since I always have to run to work right after an early morning drop off. She was amazing and I would definitely pick her to watch Jinx again for me 😊”

About: I’m always very good with animals since I was a little girl. Ive grown experienced with various breeds of dogs since 2019 when I started to have my own dog and help out with friends’ dogs for dog sitting. My work hours are pretty flexible so I have enough time to walk and take care of the dogs and I also have a very mellow dog who I take care I live next to two parks and both of them are favorites dog parks in the neighborhoods so I usually take dogs there for walk and some fun activities
“Kira was very communicative and I appreciated the photos while I was out and about. My dog quickly trusted being with her the moment I dropped him off. Highly recommend her”

About: I've been caring for dogs for over 15 years and have always enjoyed getting to know each dog's unique personality and routine. Whether it's a high-energy pup that loves long walks or a dog that just wants company and a consistent routine, I'll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I'll follow your instructions closely and keep you updated with photos so you always know how they're doing. I work remotely, so I'm home most of the day and have a flexible schedule. That allows me to provide regular walks, potty breaks, playtime, feeding, and plenty of attention throughout the day. I always try to keep dogs on the routine they're used to so they feel comfortable and relaxed. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet. I'll treat your home and your dog with care and respect, follow your instructions closely, and make sure your dog feels safe and comfortable while you're away. Whether it's sticking to a feeding schedule, giving medication if needed, or following their favorite walking route, I'm happy to accommodate. I'll also send regular updates and photos so you have peace of mind.
“Victoria was so sweet with our guy. She sent us pics through the stay and we could see that Chunk was having a good time at her place. Victoria took Chunk out for a walk and got some great pics of Chunk in front of City Hall. We definitely plan on getting help from Victoria in the future.”

“Yunhee has quickly become my go to person when I need a dog sitter. She actually likes dogs, which is not always a given, and is so good with them. Elliot gets so excited whenever we drop him off at hers but also when we walk by her address as he thinks he is going there. Communication with Yunhee is great, timely and responsive. The pictures she sends are the best. A gem of a find in Rover!”

“Diana watched our pup with severe separation anxiety while we were away at work. We had a really good experience and especially loved the frequent updates throughout the day! Thank you so much!!”

About: Saw my childhood dog through 16 full years of life and dogsat many breeds for family and clients over the last 15 years. Volunteer of 2 years at a senior dog rescue and dog body language and safety trained. Experienced with puppies all the way through seniors with special needs such as vision loss, hearing loss, anxiety and medication administration. Happy to provide further references. Work fully remote and make my own hours, so my schedule is highly flexible and I'm home to give lots of attention during the day. No other pets at home, but roommates who will give lots of belly rubs. A stone’s throw from Alamo Square dog park and close to Panhandle and Golden Gate Park for plenty of green space. With remote work, I’m happy to house sit if that would make your pet more comfortable.

About: 13 years of hands-on pet care. I grew up raising dogs from puppyhood thru their senior years, trained my own dog from 8 weeks old, and cared for cats with disabilities via a rescue I volunteered with for years. Comfortable with the full range of ages and temperaments. Pet care is my primary weekday focus, not something squeezed in around another job, so I’m consistently available M-F, 8am-6pm. Weekends are open too, just book a bit ahead since those slots fill faster. I live in Hayes Valley, walking distance to Alamo Square, Duboce Park, and Patricia’s Green, so every walk includes real green space, not just a block loop. I do all walks on foot (no car) which means I’m present and unhurried the whole time. Dogs are only grouped together after a solo meet-and-greet, so I know how they’ll so together before anyone’s paired up.

Alina was great with Moose. She's also responsive, kind, and accommodating. I'm generally anxious leaving my baby (because shes big and sensitive), but Alina sent me pics and updates throughout Moose's stay which made me feel so much better. I'd use Alina again and recommend her for your pup's doggy daycare.

Ilgas was absolutely amazing to work with! Very communicative & updated us almost hourly! So thankful we booked with her. Our babies loved her, it was the best thing to see our dogs loving on her! We will definitely be bringing them back to her when we visit San Francisco! Dont question booking her, just do it ! 🥰

Gautam took such wonderful care of Mochi today! He took the time to meet her the weekend before at Alamo Park. Sometimes Mochi hides the first visit but she went on a walk and looked very relaxed all day in pictures :). She will definitely be back next time our schedules work out for daycare

Robyn was so flexible and accommodating! We booked with short notice due to some unexpected travel, and we had to drop off super early due to my husband’s work schedule. Robyn was great about it all. Communication throughout the day was excellent and my pup seemed happy and excited the next day to return.

Kira was great; she went for a quick walk with me and Titan to get to know him before he came over. He quickly got comfortable with her and she sent a photo and updated me on what and how he was doing. I was very happy with the level of attention and care Titan received from Kira and would comfortably leave him with her again!

Go was AMAZING!! He did a great job with our corgi Maui. We knew that our dog would be safe and cared for. He was great at communicating, sent us frequent pictures which we really appreciated. We would 10000% trust Go to take care of our dog. Thank you soooo much 🙂

Eunice took such wonderful care of my senior dog, Marshall. It's clear Eunice is an animal lover and is such a kind person. I felt so confident leaving my sweetheart with her and knew she would take great care of him. Eunice sent me multiple nice updates while she was watching my dog, including cute pictures and comments about what he was up to. It was clear she had listened so well to little things I mentioned to her that he liked and might want to do while she was there with him. I couldn't recommend Eunice more, she's lovely and clearly such an animal lover and caregiver!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your San Francisco commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
