“When I met Jessica at "Met and Greet", I knew our little Shylo would be in great hands. Jessica kept us inform throughout the day, sending us pictures of our little one. She printed and gave us a beautiful picture of our Shylo, it was a perfect pose. Couple of days, we saw Jessica, and Shylo remembered her, and he wanted to run to her. I will definitely be booking with Jessica when in need of doggie daycare or boarding.”

“Wonderful ! My experience was ideal. My pup was very well cared for and got pics through out the day. Great backyard, supervision and walks to the park. Excellent communication and all around A+++. We will book again soon!”

“Jennifer is so sweet and did a great job with my dog. She was attentive and considerate toward his needs and was able to build a trusting relationship with him. She is reliable and communicative as well!”

“Mikele was fantastic with Archie! She was flexible when we were running way late for drop off. She sent lots of photos and made us feel so at ease while we were out. We hope Archie gets to see Mikele again soon!”

“Anthony was one of the best dogsitters I’ve connected with through Rover. He has been super clear with communication, very flexible/accommodating of Fluffy’s needs and my schedule, and most importantly, took super good care of Fluffy. She’s a high maintenance dog that barks a lot, but I could tell immediately that Anthony is very confident in taking care of all kinds of dogs in all situations.”

“Lei did a great job keeping me updated on Donny's activities during his stay. He got a lot of attention and came home tired, which is always a good sign. Thank you for taking good care of Donny!”

“Benz had a really fun time again with Remo! Remo is awesome and fantastic with sending pictures and keeping us updated on their adventures! Thank you Remo! See you soon! :-D ”

“I couldn’t have chosen a better sitter than Yang. She made sure Matcha was comfortable with her before I departed, which was a no brained. She walked several times throughout the day and shared photos. I’ll be booking her again.”

“Peter took Edison on a fun adventure in their time together. Edison took to him right away. Peter has a great energy and gentle demeanor perfect for shy dogs like mine. Thanks!”
“Sean was amazing. It was clear that he cared about the wellbeing of my dog and he made sure that I felt comfortable leaving my pup with his dog and cat. He brings a calming presence, which I’m sure many puppy owners can appreciate. It was also my dog’s one of first times interacting with a cat, and Sean handled it like a pro. He sent frequent updates with pictures and videos which I really appreciated. His dog, Opal, was also very sweet and got along with my dog really well. I definitely recommend him and would go back again next time.”

“Irene loves dogs so much and is so attentive to dogs’ needs! She is so patient with dogs like mine that can be a little needy or a bit troublesome at times. She’s a great choice for watching all kinds of dogs but especially ones that need just a little bit more attention.”

“Saba was absolutely wonderful with my two lively pups. Communication was a breeze. The photos and updates were sweet/humorous- felt like little treats throughout my workday. They both appeared very happy and comfortable with her ✨”

“Thank you for taking great care of Nico. Lauren was prompt and reliable from start to finish. She provided nice updates on how the day went and gave Nico lots of attention. We would trust our pup with Lauren again.”

“She’s was so good to the babies! She sent plenty of photos of them having fun. As a pet owner, it is lovely knowing they’re okay and in good hands. Chewie already misses her.”

Jennifer is amazing!! She has taken care of Mochi a few times now and Mochi loves hanging out with her. She wags with her whole body and runs up to the gate to meet Jennifer. I was so late today stuck in parade (or protest?) traffic and Jennifer walked her back to my place across the st for drop off. I appreciate her so much accomodating my crazy schedule and unexpected delays!

We've been trusting Derek and Stella with our dog for the past few years, and we couldn't ask for better sitters. Our dog gets so excited every time she realizes she's staying with them and always comes home happy, healthy, and well cared for. That alone gives us so much peace of mind whenever we're traveling. They always send plenty of adorable photos and videos, keep us updated throughout each stay, and are thoughtful, responsive, and easy to communicate with. It's clear they genuinely care about every dog they watch, and we never have to worry while we're away. We're so grateful to have found Derek and Stella and highly recommend them to anyone looking for caring and reliable sitters. Thank you both for always taking such wonderful care of our pup!
Carlotta is such a dog lover and took such good care of our biscuit! He is a puppy so he’s still learning a lot and she’s so patient with him and gave us great updates the entire time. I can tell he was so loved in her care! Thank you Carlotta, biscuit can’t wait to see you again!

Marina is amazing with Fig: she gets so excited the moment she sees Marina, and always comes back happy and relaxed. Marina keeps us updated with photos and notes throughout the stay, so we always know how Fig's doing. Highly recommend Marina to anyone looking for a sitter who's attentive, kind, and easy to trust.

Thank you Michael for taking care of my fur baby today!! She had a wonderful day with you walking to Dolores park. The way she was bouncing around at pickup- I can tell she had a much better day with you than I had at work :). We look forward to more rover days if you will have her and those crazy zoomies again.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your San Francisco commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
