“Cynthia and her family were the best. Very accommodating and easy to communicate with. She sent us multiple pictures and videos throughout the day which made me feel at ease. I was so happy to see that Amaru had fun and enjoyed his stay. Will definitely book with Cynthia again and am so happy to find a new dog sitter for Amaru close to home. Thank you so much for everything!!”

“Anthony was one of the best dogsitters I’ve connected with through Rover. He has been super clear with communication, very flexible/accommodating of Fluffy’s needs and my schedule, and most importantly, took super good care of Fluffy. She’s a high maintenance dog that barks a lot, but I could tell immediately that Anthony is very confident in taking care of all kinds of dogs in all situations.”

“Couldn’t speak more highly of Tiffany. She was always on time and willing to work with me on my ever changing schedule. I could tell she really loved caring for my doggie. As my dog would often cry on the way home and jump for joy on the way there. If you need a dog setter that will care for your fur baby as much as you do yourself Tiffany is your best option. Would highly recommend!!!”

“We had a nice meet and greet, and Shao asked good questions about our dogs and their habits. Pick up and drop off were very easy and we got lots of pictures of our dogs enjoying their stay!”

“Jeffery was fantastic. Our puppy is very skittish and doesn’t take to new people easily. By the end of doggy daycare, she was letting him pet her and feed her treats. This speaks volumes! It is clear from all interactions with Jeffery that he’s a very caring individual that puts your pet first and foremost. Would definitely recommend. Also his dog Barney was the cherry on top! Both dogs loved to play together.”

“Jaynine and her partner were amazing with Kona! Every time I picked her up, she was exhausted and happy, which shows she had a wonderful time playing with their other dogs. Kona clearly enjoyed her stay, and I will definitely be using their services again. Highly recommend!”

“Allison was really wonderful with our dog Biscuit and asked all the right questions to get to know Biscuit better. It was Biscuit’s first time being away from our family and Allison took great care of her, sending photos and video updates throughout the day. When we picked her up, we could tell Biscuit loved hanging out with Allison and her dog Maple by the nonstop tail wags. We‘re thrilled to have found a wonderful dog sitter in our neighborhood and will definitely book with Allison again in the future!”

“Jayern has been very respectful, responsive and dependable thus far. A meet and greet was arranged prior to our first day care session, which made me feel much more comfortable. My dog had a great first day, and I received wonderful photos and a report as promised. My dog Sassy, and I, are very much looking forward to her next stay!”

“It’s like pups play time every time my boy gets to stay with Randy. Beach or park runs, racing around. Jude always comes home happy and tired. It’s wonderful!”

I work from home, so whether your pet is staying at my home or I’m visiting yours, they’ll have plenty of attention and companionship throughout the day. I foster senior dogs through Muttville and have experience caring for senior pets. I also know how to administer oral and eye medications. “Ms Shanice is a very gentle person. My doggie seems she had a great time at her place. Also her doggie is the perfect assistant!! It was the first time for our doggie to stay in the dog day care or with someone else, but our family is very happy that Ms. Shanice could help our doggie for the new experience.”

“Eleanor was super communicative and took the best care of Lani! She also took Lani in for day care super last minute and was flexible with timing, which I really appreciated. 10/10 recommend!”

Shao was a caring, attentive, and wonderful pet sitter for my puppy. She put me at ease with frequent messages, pictures, and videos of my dog. If she was concerned about something she promptly communicated it with me. Overall my puppy really enjoyed having shao as her dog sitter. I would recommend her highly and would book her again.

Jeffery was fantastic. Our puppy is very skittish and doesn’t take to new people easily. By the end of doggy daycare, she was letting him pet her and feed her treats. This speaks volumes! Nicole was so sweet and caring to our dog Chico. You can tell she’s a true animal lover. She sent pictures & updates of him playing in her backyard and at the park by her house. She has two sweet dogs that our dog loved playing with. I’m so happy we found Nicole, we’d love for her to watch Chico again.

Stellar service! My doggy lived them as much as they loved on her. Very cozy, clean home. I usually plan ahead, but needed to complete a work assignment short notice and needed a sitter who was available thay I could trust. She will be back again for sure! Great w/ communication and updates. Professional and reliable. I highly recommend 🙌🏽

I left my dog for 2 days with Simon when I was in San Francisco visiting for the first time. Aspen had the best time and really liked being with Simon. This was fantastic as Aspen usually has a lot of separation anxiety at doggie day care facilities. Simon was very friendly and very professional and made sure Aspen was feeling good during the 2 days he was with him. I would highly recommend Simon to anyone who wants to see the city but can’t take their dog into many sightseeing places. I will definitely use Simon again if I am back in San Francisco!!!!

My wife and I decided on a spontaneous weekend trip to San Francisco and needed a last-minute sitter. Thankfully, we found Michelle! She kept us updated with plenty of photos and videos throughout the day, which gave us so much peace of mind. We’re so grateful to have found someone caring and attentive who took great care of Milo. Highly recommend! We’ll definitely book with her again on our next visit to San Francisco!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your South San Francisco commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
