About: I've been pet sitting for friends, family, and neighbors since I was 10 years old and have experience caring for pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I'm also a Registered Veterinary Technician with over six years of experience in veterinary medicine. My background allows me to confidently care for senior pets, puppies and kittens, administer medications, recognize changes in a pet's health or behavior, and provide compassionate, low-stress care. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, loved, and well cared for while giving owners peace of mind. Pet care is something I truly enjoy and intentionally make time for in my daily routine. As a full-time student, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide pets with the attention, exercise, playtime, and companionship they deserve. Whether it's sticking to their normal routine, giving medications, or simply spending quality time with them, I'm committed to making them feel safe, happy, and loved while you're away. When caring for pets in your home, I do my best to keep their routine as consistent as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure. I'll follow your instructions closely regarding feeding, walks, medications, and any special needs. As a Registered Veterinary Technician, I'm trained to recognize changes in a pet's health or behavior and will keep you updated if I have any concerns. I treat every home with respect, keeping it clean, secure, and exactly as I found it, while making sure your pets receive the same love and attention I would give my own.
“We are so happy we found Yvonne, what a great fur baby sitter! Sent tons of photos, very responsive when I reached out, and did not hesitate to askquestions if she felt unsure about something. We will for sure be booking her again if she’s available.”

“Brianna was a wonderful pup and house sitter this weekend. With frequent updates and pics I was able to enjoy a peaceful and fun weekend away. It was so nice to return to a happy pup and home. I look forward to the next time Brianna sits for us.”

About: I have worked with kids so I am used to being calm, patient and new or challenging environments that necessitates extra care and attention towards your pets. I am a college student and my work schedule is from 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday. I have class every Tuesday and Thursday night from 6pm to 10pm. I’m available weekends and Friday night. I do not have any pets at the moment so my house is very clean and your pets would get my full attention. I have a decently sized yard for any outdoor time. I have a bed and toys to keep your pets entertained. My neighborhood is quiet and safe with minimal traffic, perfect for long or short walks.
“Anna was great caring for my Benny. He takes time trusting people, but somehow Anna managed to get him to trust her. We received photos daily and he seemed so very happy.”

“We had such a great experience with our sitter Sarah! She has such a warm, charismatic presence that immediately put us at ease. Our puppy is usually very shy and slow to warm up to new people, but she was incredibly attentive and patient with him. Because of that, he quickly began to trust her. We really appreciated the care and effort she put into making him feel comfortable and safe. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone and would happily book with her again!”

About: Intuitive and kind. I take care of your pet like they are my own. Good at developing report with even timid or elder pets. Experienced with special diets (including raw) and requests. I take classes online so I study wherever I'm at. Listening to lectures more often than reading them so I can still give attention to pets. I work part time with a flexible schedule. I try to stick to the routine of the pet per the pet's owner. I will coordinate and communicate with the pets vet as well.
“Sophia and her husband were absolutely wonderful, and I couldn’t have asked for better sitters for Fraser. From the very beginning, communication was clear, responsive, and thoughtful. They took the initiative to ask questions and confirm details I hadn’t thought to mention, which gave me a lot of confidence that Fraser was in great hands. Throughout my trip, Sophia sent regular photo and video updates, along with detailed notes about how Fraser was doing. It really gave me peace of mind knowing exactly how he was eating, behaving, and settling in while I was away. I came home finding my house cleaned and arranged the same way as it was. What impressed me most was how calm, professional, and observant they were when an unexpected situation came up at the house. She kept me informed with clear, factual updates and helped me understand what was happening without adding unnecessary stress. I truly appreciated her and her’s professionalism and support during a situation that could have been much more difficult. Most importantly, Fraser was well cared for, and clearly comfortable with them. I would absolutely trust Sophia and her husband with Fraser again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, communicative, and genuinely caring pet sitters.”

About: I've grown up around dogs all my life and have been petsitting since I was 18 years old. I am familiar and comfortable with the routine that comes with caring, exercising, and loving all different types of dogs. I currently have a small network of clients who have trusted me with their pets for 7+ years. I am typically an early riser and love morning walks to start the day. There is also a park a few blocks away that I regularly run to myself. Whether I care for pets in my home or their own, I try my best to adhere to their routine and comforts. My favorite thing to do is go on nice walks with the dogs I care for and make sure they have enough safe playtime. I work on a hybrid schedule, but am fortunate enough to have plenty of flexibility. I am mainly available on weekends, as I will be home all day and can give proper attention and care to the pets I care for. When caring for pets, I try my best to adhere to their specified routines and boundaries. I live in a clean, cozy duplex and am able to take pets out for bathroom breaks conveniently.

“Adriana was a perfect match for our dog. It’s evident that she is experienced and knowledgeable in the care taking . Adriana was able to meet “Ladie’s” needs with her diet, walks and medication administration. The communication with us was superb, from texting, pictures and phone calls. It was a great feeling for us to know how well our dog was doing and how happy she was, this gave us a great relief. Adriana is a wonderful dog care taker and would love to use her services in the future when needed. We highly recommend Adriana 👍👍👍”

“Esther was very sweet with my little old pup. Her communication and pics allowed me to enjoy my trip knowing my dog and home were in good hands. Looking forward to booking with Esther again soon!”

About: I've taken care of puppies and dogs, cats and guinea pigs. I've administered meds to those who've needed them, I am reliable and understand they are not just pets but a part of your family. I enjoy taking care of animals, interacting, playing, cuddling with all sorts of pets. Very responsible. I currently, due to my living restrictions, can't have pets so what better way to give the love that I have than to treat your babies as my own! I am walking every day around the neighborhood, taking a pet would make it more enjoyable. They get fresh air as will I, we win! I can keep your fur babies company in their home environment while you are out of town. Making them as comfortable as I can so as to not stress them.
“Mystic was wonderful! All of my (detailed) instructions were read ahead of our meet and greet, giving me confidence that my pup would have a great stay. During the stay, I received regular updates and pic/videos to let me know how she was doing. Mystic was incredibly flexible with both drop off and pickup and worked with me when my plane was delayed by several hours. When I came home, I could tell my pup was happy and well cared for.”

Catherine was an amazing sitter for my dog, Finn!! He felt very comfortable with her and she was so so welcoming to him! She sent updates of Finn and made sure he ate and went potty! She also took him on walks and took him on an adventure! We will be asking her to watch him in the future!

Sarah has a way with dogs and people! She is extremely kind, patient, and curious. She sent regular updates with photos and videos, so we were always in the loop on how our dog was doing. Sarah went the extra mile to make sure our dog was happy. Outside of his regular walks, she took him to the park and put treats in his toy so he was entertained. You can tell she has a genuine love for dogs! Would happily recommend her and work with her again!

Linda was awesome! Super communicative, timely, and kind to my overly nervous dog. She took the time to come out for a meet and greet before the sitting period so my dog could get accustomed to her, which was extremely appreciated. She sent lots of pictures even though I was only away for two nights which I loved!! She also left my house extremely clean and left my dog happy. Will definitely book again in the future if I ever need to go away again!

Lisa has taken care of our little senior pup, Queenie, several times and we always trust her to do a great job. She asks questions upon arrival and sends updates and cute photos! We trust Lisa and find her wonderful to work with. I would absolutely recommend her!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred South San Francisco walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in South San Francisco maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South San Francisco choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
