“Alia is amazing! My dog is elderly and has a complex set of medication needs. Alia took beautiful care of her, sent great photos, kept in touch about everything. I feel really lucky to have found her. I didn’t worry at all!! Thanks so much Alia!!!”

About: I've loved dogs since I was a kid! My first dog was a Chow Chow when I was five years old, and I adored him until the day he passed. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them comes with much joy to me. Friends and family often count on me to walk, feed, and spend time with their pets, and I genuinely love every second of it. I treat every pet with patience, affection, and the same care I’d want for my own. I am currently working part time as a Behavioral Aide for toddlers on the autism spectrum. Afternoon and evenings are open for me and I am avaliable for dog walking, house sitting, and drop-in visits during this slot. I will offer the best possible care for your pet during our walks and/or visits. I do not offer boarding in my home as my arrangements do not allow it but I am open to house sitting and providing your dog and feline friends what they need according to what you know is best for them!
About: I’ve been around dogs most of my life and grew up helping care for three family dogs—a German Shepherd/Husky (Wong), a Rottweiler (Choi), and a Border Collie mix (Bella)—from ages 10–21. That experience gave me a strong understanding of different temperaments, energy levels, and care needs. I’m comfortable with daily routines like feeding, walking, and providing consistent structure, and I always aim to make dogs feel safe, happy, and well cared for. I miss my dogs dearly and helping you would help fill in that void. My schedule is very flexible, and work from home. On my days off, I enjoy going on long walks, hiking, and relaxing with Netflix. I live in a clean, spacious, pet-friendly one-bedroom apartment. I can also set up safety gates to keep pets out of the kitchen while I'm cooking, ensuring they stay safe from any food or spills. I'm located near trails and plenty of green space, providing great opportunities for walks and outdoor time. I currently have an open schedule. Whether if you need a sitter for date night, going on a vacation, or even if you need a break from life, I am your guy! I have a big apartment with my fiancée and have plenty of walking areas in the peninsula. I can also take your dog to great highway for a long walk or even hangout at the beach!
“We are so happy we found Yvonne, what a great fur baby sitter! Sent tons of photos, very responsive when I reached out, and did not hesitate to askquestions if she felt unsure about something. We will for sure be booking her again if she’s available.”

“Lucy has been extremely thoughtful and considerate taking care of Nala - she’s gone out of her way to make sure she understands everything Nala needs and takes amazing care of her and of the apartment. Thank you!!”

“Nikka is a wonderful, caring and attentive pet sitter! She stayed at my house with Juno and Lumi for a long weekend and I received lots of happy cat pictures over my time away. It's so nice to go out of town and know that my house and my boys are well cared for. Thank you Nikka! The boys miss you 😉”

About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was 13 years old, and have had cats and dogs for my entire adult life. I have helped friends and family take care of their pets for just as long. I love animals, and their well-being is my utmost priority. I have extensive experience and knowledge on what pets need from experience with my own pets and taking care of pets for others. When I am traveling or need to be away from home for any reason, my main concern is always whether my cats and dogs are happy and getting everything they need. My mission is to do everything I can to give you the worry-free experience I would want myself. I am self-employed, so my schedule is flexible around what you and your pet(s) need. I am available at most times of the day and on weekends/holidays. I understand that every pet’s need can differ based on the situation. I will care for your pet according to his/her individual need.

About: I am my mother's fourth child (I grew up with three golden retrievers). Two of the goldens still go to the beach everyday at ages 15 and 16 (they still live with my mother). I've been swimming, walking, playing, washing, cooking for, feeding, cleaning up after, chauffeuring and generally chilling with dogs almost everyday for 15 years. I'm accustomed to medication regimens and mindful of safe play, especially for elderly and disabled dogs. I'm also very comfortable with large and extra-large dogs. My childhood friends include a Newfoundland and St. Bernard. I have experience pet sitting in clients homes in the Bay but am new to Rover. I just started a sabattical from lawyering. Happy to be your dog's lawyer though (this is not legal advertising). I am on a work sabattical, so I am happy to tailor my schedule to you and your dog's needs. Please provide me with advance notice of your schedule whenever possible. I prefer to care for your dog in their home so that they are the most comfortable. Otherwise I would prefer that your dog and I establish a few walks or activities before boarding at my place, so that they feel safe and comfortable with me.
About: I've taken care of puppies and dogs, cats and guinea pigs. I've administered meds to those who've needed them, I am reliable and understand they are not just pets but a part of your family. I enjoy taking care of animals, interacting, playing, cuddling with all sorts of pets. Very responsible. I currently, due to my living restrictions, can't have pets so what better way to give the love that I have than to treat your babies as my own! I am walking every day around the neighborhood, taking a pet would make it more enjoyable. They get fresh air as will I, we win! I can keep your fur babies company in their home environment while you are out of town. Making them as comfortable as I can so as to not stress them.
“Jaron took great care of Chance and my home, sending multiple daily updates. He got my lazy dog to go out for walks and kept him on his regular schedule and made sure he got his meds as well as other care items. Jaron left no trace after almost a week!”

“Emiliano was our first male to sit for our 1yo puppy. He was extremely gentle and caring and agreed to meet with us and our pup before his stay. He went out of his way to make sure our home looked even better than we left it, with a happy dog to come home to also.”

“Brianna was a wonderful pup and house sitter this weekend. With frequent updates and pics I was able to enjoy a peaceful and fun weekend away. It was so nice to return to a happy pup and home. I look forward to the next time Brianna sits for us.”

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and currently have a 3½-year-old Lab(Whiskey) who I also trained while she was a puppy. My family also had a dog from the time I was born until I was 7 years old, which is where my love for dogs started. I’m currently on summer break from college, so I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to caring for your dog. My Lab is very high energy and requires a lot of exercise and attention. She also has a skin condition that requires regular baths and extra care, so I’m used to handling dogs with specific needs and routines. I enjoy spending time with dogs, whether that’s going for walks, playing with them, or just keeping them company. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I will treat your dog like one of my own. I’m responsible, dependable, and committed to making sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine. I’m currently on summer break from college, so I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to give pets the attention they need. I have a high-energy Labrador at home who requires daily exercise, playtime, and regular care for her skin condition, including frequent baths and monitoring. Because of that, I’m used to planning my days around feeding schedules, walks, medication routines, and making sure pets get plenty of attention and exercise. Caring for animals is something I do every day, not just occasionally. I treat every pet like they’re my own and try to keep them on the routine they’re used to. In my client’s home, I follow feeding schedules, provide fresh water, take dogs on walks, give plenty of playtime and attention, and can administer medications if needed. I also make sure the home stays clean and secure while the owner is away. In my own home, pets receive constant supervision, regular potty breaks, exercise, and lots of interaction throughout the day. Since I have experience caring for my own high-energy Labrador with a skin condition, I’m comfortable handling pets that require extra attention, special care routines, or medications.

About: My personal approach to dog care is grounded in genuine care for their well being. Working with my clients I provide prompt communication to ensure your dog is safe, happy, and healthy! Growing up my family had a beautiful 30lb dog that I helped care for from a puppy to old age. Being a part of this process has shown me how to support dogs in each stage of life from rambunctious puppies (structure, training and enrichment) to easing the aging process (special diet, new steps to climb onto the couch, shorter walks etc). Depending on the activity needs of your pup, I’m happy to provide daily walks or short runs (1-3 miles). I'm currently taking a gap year so I have plenty of time for your pups! I'm available weekdays and, with advance planning, can provide housesitting through weekends as well. I live in a single family home with three dogs. However, our family dogs like their space, and it is not available for dog boarding.
“Lorenzo did a great job of spending time with the dogs and taking care of the house. He left a charging cord at the house, and when he came by to pick up the cord, I could tell by the reaction of the dogs that they had a great time with Lorenzo and that they missed him. Hopefully Lorenzo will be available to watch Bella and Marlie in the future.”

“Seng was great! Super friendly, flexible and did a great job caring for my Mixie and following all instructions. Mixie seemed to love her instantly, which was a big win! Would definitely recommend!”

“We had such a great experience with Sarah! She stayed at our home for four nights with our senior pup, Kuma, and I truly couldn’t have asked for better care. Kuma requires medication and specific feeding instructions, and she handled everything thoughtfully and responsibly. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing our older girl was in capable hands. She sent regular updates, communicated clearly throughout the stay, and took wonderful care of both Kuma and our home. You can tell she’s attentive and genuinely cares about the animals she watches. I would absolutely have her back in a heartbeat and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, compassionate sitter.”

“Raquel was an amazing pet sitter for our Lola! Her knowledge and experience with bully breeds gave us peace of mind while we were away. She was great about communicating and sending pictures of a happy Lola. She also left our house clean and tidy! We would definitely use Raquel again to take care of Lola.”

The median cost per night for house sitting in San Bruno is $75

Sarah was absolutely wonderful with Wiz and Daisy! We had never left our dogs with anyone and she made us feel completely at ease. The updates and photos throughout their stay gave us so much peace of mind while we were away.We could tell our dogs were comfortable with her from the first time they met her. We’re so grateful for the love and attention she gave our pups and would happily book with her again. Highly recommend!

Linda was awesome! Super communicative, timely, and kind to my overly nervous dog. She took the time to come out for a meet and greet before the sitting period so my dog could get accustomed to her, which was extremely appreciated. She sent lots of pictures even though I was only away for two nights which I loved!! She also left my house extremely clean and left my dog happy. Will definitely book again in the future if I ever need to go away again!

Elena took such wonderful care of our pups while we were away. They were so happy, relaxed, and clearly well loved when we got home. She was communicative, reliable, and gave us so much peace of mind during our trip. We’re very grateful for her care and would absolutely book with her again. Highly recommend!

Lisa has taken care of our little senior pup, Queenie, several times and we always trust her to do a great job. She asks questions upon arrival and sends updates and cute photos! We trust Lisa and find her wonderful to work with. I would absolutely recommend her!

Raquel is so great with my zoo! She goes above and beyond taking out the litter, which I greatly appreciate! My dog loves going on walks with her and he’s a bit reactive with no issues. I’m so glad she is local and takes such great care of my babies, thank you!!!

The average cost for House Sitting in San Bruno on Rover is $50 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of June 2026, there are 8,047 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across San Bruno. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred San Bruno walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in San Bruno maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in San Bruno choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in San Bruno. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
