“Caroline had amazing communication!! I had a whole google doc of instructions 😂 and she was so good at consistently keeping our babies on their schedule and routines, even with all their quirks! I loved all the regular updates; we had some scheduling issues in the middle but she was incredibly transparent and very detailed in communicating so o was able to make l alternative arrangements! Our shy cats + xl dog took to her immediately 😊”

“Vanessa was AMAZING!!! She gave us so many photos of our dog while we were away and took such great fanatic care of our dog! She was always available when we needed to talk to her, or to ask for updates about the dog. I have nothing but fantastic things to say about Vanessa! Thank you SO much Vanessa for watching our dog!”

Maria sent me daily summaries, pictures and videos so my mind could be at ease while away. I highly recommend Maria.”

“Jalyn was amazing! She was so great with our dogs, took them on lengthy walks, and followed their routine to a T. She gave them so much love and sent us tons of updates, pics, and videos. For a special treat, she also cleaned up before she left! 10/10 recommend!”

“Rachel took great care of my cat and my apartment while I was away! She was very communicative, sending timely updates and great photos. My cat took to her immediately and I was so happy to know she was in great hands. I would definitely hire Rachel again in the future!”

“Lisa was exceptional with our dog and as a house sitter generally. We have a miniature pincher who is a total sweetheart once you get to know him, but our dog has pretty significant fear aggression problems (he is a rescue and we are working on it). We were especially nervous to leave our furry friend alone with a stranger and were concerned about how he would be handled. Lisa took the time to ask the right questions and made multiple visits to our home ahead of time to get to know our dog and have him become comfortable and trust her; She walked him and even had a joint session with our dog trainer in order to understand our doggy’s quirks and needs. And it worked! He absolutely ADORES her. It felt very reassuring to have Lisa pay such personal attention to Oliver’s unique needs and anxieties. On top of that, she cooked for him too! (Following doggy diet restrictions of course) Lisa was very communicative while we were away, updating us regularly on the household and was great with our other animals too. (We have 2 rats and a red eared slider turtle) She made sure they were all fed and well taken care of. Additionally, she gave them all special meals for Christmas. The house was in great condition when we returned home and all of our animals seemed happy and content. We are incredibly appreciative of the clear effort and care she provided for our family, and we have every intention of booking her again. We really can’t recommend Lisa enough!”

“We are so happy we found Yvonne, what a great fur baby sitter! Sent tons of photos, very responsive when I reached out, and did not hesitate to askquestions if she felt unsure about something. We will for sure be booking her again if she’s available.”

About: I've always had dogs in my life. I can provide you and your pet with efficient service. Feeding, walking, checking in, bathing, and anything else you might mention. Let’s work together to make your dog enjoy their time while you’re away. I’m reliable, attentive, and flexible with my schedule, and I’d be happy to discuss the details! “Parind was a fantastic sitter for our dog! He was consistently communicative and sent us many updates (and photos) while we were away. We felt reassured and that she was safe the entire time. She’s an older dog who needed extra medication and care; Parind took it all in stride and managed the additional needs. Our dog was loved and cared for, and he was respectful of our home. We look forward to booking Parind again!”

About: Hi everybody my name is Maya! I’ve been taking care of animals since I was very young ever since I adopted my first dog at 8! 🐕 I’ve had so many pets from dogs, cats, fish, birdies to hermit crabs 🦜 I work part time and finishing up my degree at the local community college in my area so I have tons of free time to take care of your baby! I have a friendly older mini schnauzer and would love to meet your baby! Of course if not, no problem, we have a balcony and tons of space to roam!
About: I've grown up around dogs all my life and have been petsitting since I was 18 years old. I am familiar and comfortable with the routine that comes with caring, exercising, and loving all different types of dogs. I currently have a small network of clients who have trusted me with their pets for 7+ years. I am typically an early riser and love morning walks to start the day. There is also a park a few blocks away that I regularly run to myself. Whether I care for pets in my home or their own, I try my best to adhere to their routine and comforts. My favorite thing to do is go on nice walks with the dogs I care for and make sure they have enough safe playtime. I work on a hybrid schedule, but am fortunate enough to have plenty of flexibility. I am mainly available on weekends, as I will be home all day and can give proper attention and care to the pets I care for. When caring for pets, I try my best to adhere to their specified routines and boundaries. I live in a clean, cozy duplex and am able to take pets out for bathroom breaks conveniently.
“Thank you Jenna for your tender loving care of Alex while I was away. I know it wasn't easy, as he also started a new medication (that you picked up for me!!) along with his other meds. Just getting him to take his meds is quite a task. I will certainly contact you again the next time we are out of town. Thank you, thank you!!”

I have a remote, 9-5 job at Microsoft, so I can come and stay anytime throughout the day or after the work day. I have many meeting breaks during the day and can walk dogs, feed them or take them out to the park during the workday as well. I love all dogs and really enjoy walking with dogs and playing with them. I also love cuddling dogs and enjoy having them around all the time.

Vanessa did a great job. She sent us photos of our dog chasing the ball in the backyard. Also, photos of him sitting next to her as well as other pictures. Her photos and comments about Mickeys eating and times she walked him made my wife and I asurred that he was in good hands. Communication between Vanessa, my wife and I was excellent. Glad she was able to watch our Mickey.
Finding the right sitter for Scout is something we take seriously and Hope exceeded every expectation! She kept us updated throughout our trip and Scout clearly adored his time with her. We would highly recommend her without hesitation and look forward to booking with her again!

Alex stayed in our home with our pup Luna for four days and was very communicative. She sent photos, was always quick to respond to inquiries from us and was flexible at the end of the stay when there were return flight issues. The house looks just as we left it (if not cleaner! Haha) and we absolutely will book her again and recommend you do, too.

Alia is absolutely amazing! If I could clone Alia and have her every time our pups need watching, I would. Not only did she maneuver a vet situation, but she was so resourceful and very communicative throughout the week. I couldn't ask for a better pet sitting experience. If I could give Alia 10 stars, I would!

Berra could not have been better with our two dogs. They adored her immediately! She has experience with large breeds which was very important to us. She was responsive, arrived right on time, made sure our boys got plenty of exercise and affection. We got plenty of updates and photos. She left the house cleaner than when she arrived and we can't wait to have her back again. HIGHLY recommend!!! Thank you Berra!!

Catherine was an amazing sitter for my dog, Finn!! He felt very comfortable with her and she was so so welcoming to him! She sent updates of Finn and made sure he ate and went potty! She also took him on walks and took him on an adventure! We will be asking her to watch him in the future!

Elena took such wonderful care of our pups while we were away. They were so happy, relaxed, and clearly well loved when we got home. She was communicative, reliable, and gave us so much peace of mind during our trip. We’re very grateful for her care and would absolutely book with her again. Highly recommend!

Lisa has taken care of our little senior pup, Queenie, several times and we always trust her to do a great job. She asks questions upon arrival and sends updates and cute photos! We trust Lisa and find her wonderful to work with. I would absolutely recommend her!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Millbrae on Rover is $65.98 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 8,360 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Millbrae. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Millbrae walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Millbrae maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Millbrae choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Millbrae. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
