All I can say is that when you go on vacation and your a pet parent, the last thing you want is to worry about the well being of your dog. Well KATIE definitely gave me peace of mind and and allowed me to enjoy my vacation knowing that my dog Boris was in GREAT hands. After the meet and greet, I already had a sense of comfort because of her experience and super friendly demeanor. She also sent me pictures of Boris during walks and my family even told me that my dog can sense that she was close to come get him because he would start to act anxious and wait for her at the door. Knowing that truly solidifies her ability to love and care for your pet. If I ever need someone to walk/watch my dog(s) again, Katie will be my definite go to. THANK YOU KATIE! Oh...she also gave us a farewell dog toy and homemade chocolate chip cookies on her last day walking Boris. This is great customer service and definitely built a great rapport with my family and I.

About: I am my mother's fourth child (I grew up with three golden retrievers). Two of the goldens still go to the beach everyday at ages 15 and 16 (they still live with my mother). I've been swimming, walking, playing, washing, cooking for, feeding, cleaning up after, chauffeuring and generally chilling with dogs almost everyday for 15 years. I'm accustomed to medication regimens and mindful of safe play, especially for elderly and disabled dogs. I'm also very comfortable with large and extra-large dogs. My childhood friends include a Newfoundland and St. Bernard. I have experience pet sitting in clients homes in the Bay but am new to Rover. I just started a sabattical from lawyering. Happy to be your dog's lawyer though (this is not legal advertising). I am on a work sabattical, so I am happy to tailor my schedule to you and your dog's needs. Please provide me with advance notice of your schedule whenever possible. I prefer to care for your dog in their home so that they are the most comfortable. Otherwise I would prefer that your dog and I establish a few walks or activities before boarding at my place, so that they feel safe and comfortable with me.

Winnie was exceptional in caring for my complicated chihuahuas and shy cat while I was away. Her thoughtfulness and dedication provided them with the companionship they craved, going far beyond what was expected. My pets were happy and well-cared for, and I’m incredibly grateful for her outstanding help. Highly recommend!

About: Hi! I’m Lindsey, a lifelong animal lover who understands how important it is to know your pet is in good hands when you’re away. I recently moved to the Bay Area and am excited to spend time caring for local pets through dog walks and drop-in visits. I have experience caring for dogs of various sizes and temperaments and am comfortable following specific routines, administering basic care, and making sure your pet gets the attention, exercise, and companionship they need. In my professional career, I’ve spent over 10 years in client-focused roles where reliability, communication, and attention to detail were essential. You can expect timely updates, plenty of photos, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing your pet is being cared for by someone dependable and attentive. Whether your dog needs a midday walk, a potty break, playtime, or simply some company while you’re away, I’d love to help. I look forward to meeting you and your pet! Pet care fits very naturally into my schedule. I am currently available most days of the week for dog walks and drop-in visits, with the exception of classes on Tuesday and Thursday. Outside of those class hours, I have a flexible schedule and can accommodate a variety of walk and visit times on a regular basis. I enjoy staying active and spending time with animals, so pet care is something I genuinely look forward to incorporating into my daily routine. I am committed to being reliable, communicative, and punctual, and I will always work with pet owners to ensure their pets receive consistent, attentive care. For dog walks, I provide safe, engaging exercise tailored to each dog’s needs while following the owner’s instructions regarding routes, pace, and any behavioral considerations. For drop-in visits, I follow each pet’s normal routine, including feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, playtime, and companionship as needed. I strive to keep pets comfortable and happy in their own environment while their owners are away. For all services, I prioritize safety, reliability, and communication, and I provide updates and photos after each visit.

I’ve been in the veterinary field for 8 years, and watched pets for 15 years. About: My personal approach to dog care is grounded in genuine care for their well being. Working with my clients I provide prompt communication to ensure your dog is safe, happy, and healthy! Growing up my family had a beautiful 30lb dog that I helped care for from a puppy to old age. Being a part of this process has shown me how to support dogs in each stage of life from rambunctious puppies (structure, training and enrichment) to easing the aging process (special diet, new steps to climb onto the couch, shorter walks etc). Depending on the activity needs of your pup, I’m happy to provide daily walks or short runs (1-3 miles). I'm currently taking a gap year so I have plenty of time for your pups! I'm available weekdays and, with advance planning, can provide housesitting through weekends as well. I live in a single family home with three dogs. However, our family dogs like their space, and it is not available for dog boarding.

About: I only care for 1 dog at a time, so your pup always has my full attention. I have years of experience caring for my own special-needs dog, which taught me how to handle medical routines with patience and care. Whether your dog enjoys active beach runs or a slower pace, I’ll adapt to their needs. Above all, I’ll make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I work from home at my own schedule, so I have plenty of time to accomodate the needs of your dog. It will never be short on care, play, or cuddles. I have a 5 year-old husky mix who lives in our house with fenced yard. We live 20 min away from the beach, minutes from parks and many trails.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats for the past 5 years (maybe more). Neighbors, friends, and relatives have relied on me for walks, feeding, and grooming. I enjoy taking care of pets(in general) because I love seeing their personalities shine through and it’s rewarding to see them enjoy their time with me. As always I make sure the care I give is the same as their owners because I want to make sure the routine doesn’t change. I work from home which is convenient because my schedule is very flexible. I’m usually free in the afternoons from Monday to Wednesday (1-7pm). Thursdays are my busiest days at work as I have meetings all day until 5pm. And most Fridays I’m free as well(10:30am-6pm). For house sitting, since I have a pet of my own (a cat 🐱), I would need to be home by 6:30pm to feed her for dinner. So I would prefer to care for your pet during the day, leave around 6pm, then come back the following morning to continue care. I am open to staying overnight but it would have to be 2 nights at max. Any house sitting stays more than 2 nights I would need to leave to feed my cat dinner and come back the following morning. When doing visits, I will be attentive of your pet and their environment at all times. Every visit I’ll make sure they’re well fed, water is fresh, and play with them as needed. Please let me know if there are specific instructions that I need to follow when I’m at your residence. I’m also familiar with a bunch of parks that are dog/pet friendly in the peninsula so your pet will always be entertained and safe in my care. Also for house sits, because I wfh and work with patients, please let me know of any cameras in your place and make sure to mute the microphones as I do not want to violate HIPAA.

About: I am a physically active recent retiree and capable dog lover who recently lost my beloved Wheaten Terrier after 11 great years with him, so I'm well able to care for your very active or senior dog that might have special dietary or physical needs. I'm recently retired and home every day, so I have lots of time to care for your pet. Drop-off and pick-up very flexible every day and evening. Although we have a securely fenced and paved back yard, it contains a swimming pool, so we kept our own pet indoors or on our fenced in, covered deck/patio which is also secure. We have a large dog crate which our dog slept in every night, but this is flexible depending on your own dog's sleeping preferences. I do not let pets sleep on my bed. We live on a very quiet street with no 'through' traffic, so it's easy to walk your dog regularly without risking encounters with other pets. Our own dog was not comfortable around other dogs and this was easy for us to manage.

About: I am a bona fide animal lover that has spent her entire life around dogs and cats as well as the occasional bunny, fish, bird, reptile, and rodent! I feel blessed to have been a caretaker to them and have learned so much from animals!! I am patient, calm under pressure, resourceful, compassionate, and playful. I’m also a firm believer that there’s no such thing as a bad pet. From August to May, I do work outside of the home and will be outside of the house between the hours of 7am-3pm Mon-Fri. Other than that, I am very much a homebody. I take the responsibility of caring for animals very seriously. I pay close attention to pet behaviors and provide daily summaries with photos and videos, as well as on-demand updates, for the pet parents. I follow any instructions provided, including administering medication, special food, and necessary enrichment activities that your pet may need. When I’m with your pet, I am focused on them and being attentive to their needs.

About: Hi, I’m Anna! I grew up helping raise my French Bulldog, and caring for him is what made me love dogs from such a young age. After losing him four years ago, I started helping friends and family by walking and caring for their dogs, and it’s become something I truly enjoy. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your dog, so I always make sure every walk is safe, fun, and tailored to your pup’s needs and energy level. Whether your dog loves long walks, extra playtime, or a slower-paced stroll, I’m happy to give them lots of attention, care, and exercise while they’re with me. I genuinely love getting to know each dog’s personality and making sure they’re happy and comfortable. I’m a college student home for the summer, so I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to pet care. I enjoy staying active and spending time with animals, and I’m able to make walks, playtime, feeding, potty breaks, and companionship a consistent part of my daily routine. Whether caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I focus on creating a safe, comfortable, and stress-free environment. I follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, potty breaks, medications if needed, and giving them plenty of attention and care. I also make sure pets feel comfortable, keep their space clean, and provide regular updates to owners.

I have books Trisha several times in the past and will continue to do so. My dog is a working German Shepherd who needs a firmer hand but also can be very affectionate if she trusts you. Tricia knows how to handle her, and has earned her respect which can be seen by the photos showing her years at 45° and that goofy grin that only comes out when she's comfortable around somebody. If you have a working dog, I definitely recommend Tricia. 👍 ⭐ ⭐⭐ ⭐ ⭐

My dog and I have been so happy we found Perry. Perry does an amazing job walking, playing and monitoring Ocean. Ocean has. a chronic GI condition and also wants to eat anything he can get to in the house or on walks. I've had a hard time finding someone who can really care for my dog. Perry Is extremely talented at looking out for things Ocean can get at. He also does an excellent job of redirecting If my dog starts having episodes of leash reactivity. It is evident Perry has strong training taking care of dogs. I appreciate that he listens carefully to what the plan is when he drops in and the thorough report and pictures. Best of all, my dog is really happy whenever he sees Perry. I am extremely comfortable knowing Perry can take great care of my mischievous and often sick dog.

Gracy has been amazing. She started off doing weekly walks with our dog, Skye, and our son's dog, Loki. Skye is very independent so I wasn't sure how Gracy was going to handle it, but Gracy ended up being the perfect person for Skye! My wife and I went on a 6 day cruise and needed someone to take Skye out while our son was at work. Gracy eagerly agreed. Our grandkids also stopped by several times during our trip and told us that Skye was sad and didn't want to come out of her kennel. But when I saw the pictures that Gracy sent us while taking Skye on walks everyday, I knew that our girl was in good hands. Thank you so much Gracy, you are one of Skye's favorite people.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
