Schedule
My daily and weekly routines are built around ensuring the well-being of the pets under my care. Here's how pet care fits into my schedule: Every morning, I start with a walk or playtime, depending on the pet's preference and energy level. If weather permits I usually go to Fort Funston for a 30-40 minute loop. This helps them start the day with some exercise and mental stimulation. I maintain strict feeding schedules for all pets to ensure they receive their meals at the same time daily, supporting their internal clocks and digestion. For pets, especially dogs, that require more frequent outings, I incorporate midday walks or play sessions to break up their day. A few times a week, I dedicate time to training sessions or enrichment activities like puzzle toys, agility courses, or new tricks. This keeps them mentally stimulated and helps reinforce good behaviors. Every evening, I engage in a calmer activity with the pets, like a gentle stroll or some cuddle time, ensuring they head into the night feeling relaxed. All doggies are welcome on sofa, couch, and bed as they please.

Safety, trust & environment
Boarding: Safe Environment: Before accepting pets, I ensure my home is pet-proofed. This includes securing trash bins, removing toxic plants, and ensuring there's no access to harmful substances. My wife and I both work from home, so there is always human supervision. Designated Spaces: I have specific areas in my home where the pet can rest and sleep. This gives them a sense of security and a space of their own. Our house has a fenced backyard for dogs to run/play in. Regular Potty Breaks: I provide regular outdoor breaks for dogs to ensure they can relieve themselves and get some fresh air. The backyard is also always accessible during the day for the dogs to do their business. Exercise and Play: I have a selection of toys available and ensure each pet gets adequate exercise, whether through playtime in a secured yard or walks in the neighborhood. In the Client's Home (House-sitting or Drop-in Visits): Familiar Environment: One advantage of caring for pets in their home is the familiar environment. This can be less stressful for the pet. Regular Routines: I try to keep the pet's routine as close to what they're used to. This includes feeding times, walk schedules, and playtime. Security Checks: On each visit, I ensure all doors, windows, and gates are secured to prevent any possible escapes. Home Maintenance: I'll collect mail, water plants, and perform other minor tasks as required to keep the home running smoothly. Daily Updates: I provide daily updates to the owners, usually with photos, so they can see their pet is happy and safe.

A typical day for me starts bright and early. Exploration is a passion of mine, and I'm always on the hunt for dog-friendly locales, from quaint cafes to serene parks. Fort Funston is a favorite hiking spot, offering ample space for our canine companions to stretch their legs. Throughout the day, you'll find us hopping between various parks, ensuring the dogs relish fresh grass beneath their paws and breathe in the clean air. Games of fetch and frisbee are staples, keeping them active and entertained. Above all, my aim every day is to enrich the lives of the dogs I care for, offering them a blend of exercise, adventure, and affection.
