“Rachel was extremely patience with my grumpy little old girl and I cannot thank her enough. She took extra time to make sure my dog was comfortable with her. She is communicative with me the whole time. I trust Rachel completely in taking care of my dog and can't recommend her enough. We are so glad that we found you Rachel!”

“Heleen is great and our dog loves her. She is very thorough, professional and diligent in sharing how the walks go and what she notices every day with our pet. She takes feedback, asks questions and really cares about our pet.”

“Sarahi was fantastic with walking our little guy! She sent a thoughtful update with photos and a detailed note, and I loved that she noticed he was hesitant on certain streets and adjusted the route so he’d be comfortable. He came home happy and relaxed. Highly recommend - will definitely book her again!”

“Peter was great! He was so good with Norman and he sent me lots of photos. When he came for our original meet and greet, he was right on time and so personable! I will definitely use him again!”

“Claudia has been great with our dogs! She is really patient especially with our younger dog who can be skittish with strangers. She really takes the time to understand instructions and gives regular updates and sends pictures and videos!”

“Ray was great with Jimi! Jimi is leash reactive and not friendly with other dogs, plus he is very strong, so I’m always worried when someone else walks him. But I felt extremely confident with Ray walking him. He also spent extra time with Jimi and they played in the backyard after each walk. Additionally, I appreciated how communicative Ray was with me and all the pictures that he sent while I was away. I can’t recommend Ray enough!”

“We are new to Rover and Julia was our first experience with dog walking. From the beginning she was very responsive. Julia was timely and was very good with our very hyper dog. We hope to continue with Julia's walking our dog.”

“Itchel was an amazing dog walker! Very kind, approachable, and easy to communicate with. Our dog, Cooper, can be quite picky and slow to warm up to new people, but she quickly found a way to connect with him, and he truly enjoyed getting to know her. She was responsible, always on time, and provided great communication throughout. We also loved receiving the photos and updates from their walks. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and professional dog walker!”

About: I trained my Pomeranian puppy myself and he’s now almost 9. I’ve assisted with all of my friends’ dog training and love being around all dogs. I am currently transitioning out of my full-time tech role after my startup got acquired and am looking to take time off. I have a lot of flexibility. I have a yard, am next to Laurelwood park, and a very walkable neighborhood. We have toys and crates in the home for small dogs.

“Patrycja is truly a one-in-a-million person. She is professional, kind, and has a genuine love for animals. I feel incredibly lucky to have met her, and my dog absolutely adores her. I highly recommend her for any of your animal needs — you would be lucky to have her caring for your pets.”

About: I currently WFH as a Client Finance Manager and recently completed my MBA degree. Somehow, I still have plenty of free time and absolutely love pups! I have my own 4-year-old cavapoo, Eloise, and an 11-month-old mini poodle mix, Charlie Sheen. We go on walks 2–3 times a day along the beautiful Bay Trail and would love to walk your dog, too! Hire me to dog-sit, dog-walk, or care for your pup—I offer extra attention with snuggles, kisses, and plenty of outdoor time! I am home throughout the day to ensure frequent potty breaks, attention, and regular check-ins. I typically walk dogs twice a day, and with my flexible schedule, I can accept last-minute bookings. I can stay for a few hours at your home, take pups on a long walk, or simply drop by to check in and feed them. I firmly believe all pups should have access to daily cleaned and fresh bowls of water. My car can take me anywhere to care for your pup!
“Samantha was on time, friendly, and Pinky went straight to her so that is always a good sign from my pup. She also kept me informed with her walk and a little giddyup I already knew about on her righ hip. Old doggie issues. Definitely will book with her again and recommend her to anyone else looking for someone to care for your fur baby.”

“Rong has been great! She’s taken great care of our dog during his walks and is very communicative and attentive to any possible issues! Our dog has really enjoyed all the walks with her, we couldn’t ask for better care!”

Rumi may have found her new favorite person in Lizbeth! Rumi is still a puppy and she can sometimes be a bit distracted while on walks. With Lizbeth, however, loose leash walking around the neighborhood wasn't a problem at all, even with skateboarders nearby and leaves blowing in the wind (her absolute favorite thing to lunge at). Lizbeth was communicative, prompt, and from the big smile Rumi had after she came home from her walk, you could just tell that Lizbeth has a special way with dogs. We absolutely loved our experience with Lizbeth and would highly recommend her!

Hope was so easy to work with and Harper loved her! I could tell Harper enjoyed her time with Hope because on the second walk day she rushed to the door to greet Hope with her tail a wagging! On both days Harper was joyful and perfectly tired when she was returned. Hope was professional and friendly. I will hire Hope again in the future!

Lauri is absolutely amazing with our anxious rescue Piper. From the very first meet-and-greet where she showed up in bright colored leggings so that Piper could identify her, to her very patient steps to build trust and rapport with our pup and each family member (even remembering career paths and school trips!), Lauri is nothing but pure heart, sincerity, and kindness. This particular neighborhood walk turned into last minute daycare on our mutual continual conversations, when we all could see Piper coming out of her shell. One of Lauri’s many great talents is being able to discern the limits of our Piper — when to challenge her and when to give her space — and this gift has been rewarded with Piper welcoming Lauri with a greater speed than she ever has anyone else. We are thrilled to have found Lauri and know that she will be folded into our village for years to come.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
