“Rumi may have found her new favorite person in Lizbeth! Rumi is still a puppy and she can sometimes be a bit distracted while on walks. With Lizbeth, however, loose leash walking around the neighborhood wasn't a problem at all, even with skateboarders nearby and leaves blowing in the wind (her absolute favorite thing to lunge at). Lizbeth was communicative, prompt, and from the big smile Rumi had after she came home from her walk, you could just tell that Lizbeth has a special way with dogs. We absolutely loved our experience with Lizbeth and would highly recommend her!”

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and caring for them has always been second nature. I grew up with a dog and a duck, and have continuously lived in homes with cats and dogs through college and graduate school, so I’m very comfortable with their routines and behavior. I’ve also cared for pets for friends and family over the years, including feeding, walking, cleaning, and making sure they feel comfortable and well cared for while their owners are away. I understand the importance of consistency, attention, and keeping pets on their normal schedule. I also have three tortoises of my own, including one I’ve had for nearly 23 years, which has made me especially attentive to routines, environment, and long-term care. I am currently volunteering at the Kitten Nursery with the Peninsula Humane Society, where I help taking care of kittens too young for adoption. I have a very flexible schedule through freelance consulting work, which allows me to be available for pet care most days of the week, including weekdays and weekends. I can accommodate a variety of schedules, whether it’s regular visits or last-minute needs. The only consistent commitment I have is volunteering on Monday afternoons at the Peninsula Humane Society, but outside of that, I’m highly flexible and able to adjust to your pet’s routine. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as consistent and stress-free as possible. I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, litter box or cleanup routines, exercise, and any specific preferences your pet is used to. I take a calm and patient approach, especially with shy or more independent pets, and make sure they feel comfortable in their own space. I also keep the home clean and organized, and treat it with the same respect I would my own. I’m attentive to any changes in behavior or health and will communicate updates regularly so you know how your pet is doing while you’re away.
About: Feed dry and wet food. Clean the litter box. Cuddle and play with them Give them toys and treats… they love it! Cats are adorable. I am unemployed and I can give so much attention to dogs and cats. I can send video to my clients while playing with them.. Keep the litter box clean. Feed them Play and give toys Give them love and attention. Provide them water. Call e and I am a cat lover.

About: I have taken care of cats of all sizes from 1 day old kittens to 2-3 years old cats (both neutered, spayed or unneutered, unspayed). I am familiar with their nature. I also walk my friend’s dogs on a regular basis. I am currently working full time. However my evenings after 5 are free. My weekends are most of the time free which means I am open for house sitter as well I have taken care of dogs by taking them for a walk or play fetching with them. For cats, I usually drop by to check if the feeder is working, clean the water fountain or bowl and refill with fresh water, clean their litter box, play with them, etc.

About: I love spending time with animals and treat every pet like they're part of my own family. I know every pet has their own personality and routine, so I take the time to make them feel comfortable, happy, and cared for while you're away. Whether it's walks, playtime, cuddles, or just keeping them company, I'll make sure they get plenty of attention and love. My goal is for you to feel confident knowing your pet is safe, happy, and in good hands. I have had dogs and cats my entire life. I can administer oral and subcutaneous medications. I am happy to provide references from former Gilead and Genentech colleagues as well as neighbors. My best friend’s brother is a police detective who knows me well. I graduated with a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, then went on and completed my MBA at Cornell University. I stopped working recently, so I have plenty of time to devote and dedicate to pet sitting. I am available mornings, afternoons and nights, depending on what you and your pet’s schedule requires. Please note I do not offer boarding or pet care services in my own home. I have 2 cats who need to be the only animals in the house.
“Doug took my two big dogs for a 60 minute daily walk during a week that I was away. He and his family clearly love dogs and sometimes his wife and/or adult daughter would join him for the exercise and entertainment. He sent pictures, was 100% reliable, and was a great communicator. My dogs will miss their daily time with him! Thank you, Doug!”

About: I was working as a sitter in Latin America and now in U.S. I am highly skilled in specialized care, including the precise administration of oral medications or supplements because I am a scientist (biomedicine and entrepreneur). I have a beautiful guinea pig and also a bird in my home. I will treat your home and your cat with the highest level of respect and dedication <3. I'm a biotechnology entrepreneur so I can work from everywhere and at any time :). I'm very flexible to adapt to your schedule and what your pet need. All my life I was living with my own pets, they are part of the family but with the most beautiful heart <3. I treat them as beautiful kids and best friends.
About: Having raised my own puppy and dogsat for friends with anxious pups, I'm well versed in how to provide for a pup's full time needs. I can also provide puppy training in house manners (for example: waiting patiently to be fed, waiting at doors, simple commands). My care and attention to my own puppy, Chef, is full time and I am super excited to share that with your pup. We can go on excursions or hang around the house or play fetch at the dogpark. Whatever your pup is up for. I have a fenced yard and a friendly pup for your pup(s) to play with! And if your pup doesn't want company for whatever reason, I have gates and crates to make sure they are safe and happy in their own space. Feel free to request photos/videos and check in anytime for updates.
About: I’ve been taking care of animals for 20+ years. I grew up with a cat and 2 dogs, rode horses, volunteered at animal shelters, and we currently have 2 tuxedo kitties. I have been volunteering with local animals shelters for the past 10+ years; mainly dogs, cats, and small animals. I usually opt to support pet care (feeding, kennel cleaning, walks) and recently I have been supporting surgeries (spays, neuter, etc). From all of my experiences, I’ve found that patience, respect, and kindess are the pillars to good interactions with animals. The most important thing to me will always be the well-being of your pet. Happy to help out fellow pet parents through Rover! Cheers, Marissa I’m currently between jobs (biotech in the bay) and am happy to add some structure to my days with pet care. I’m available weekdays for visits, walks, and care. Not able to do boarding or home sits at this time. I will respect your space as if it was my own; no shoes in the house, leave things cleaner than you found it, pet-safety conscientious (ex food risks). When visiting your pets they’ll have my undivided attention and you have my promise to thoroughly review any instructions; big or small.
“Spencer continues to do great with Aza and she is always thrilled when she sees him walking up to the house. He is super responsive, great with communication and flexibility. Super happy to have found Spencer and love to see the relationship he has built with Aza through their weekly walks.”

About: Taking care of dogs started for me with my wonderful and energetic Airedale in my teens and twenties, and continues as a dedicated uncle to my sister’s 4 dogs (yes 4!). I am the guy my friends consistently ask to pet sit when they leave town. I also take pride in leaving your house as nice as when arrived. For long stays or short, I’m happy to help. I am currently working part time nearby and I am not planning holiday travel, so I’ll have plenty of time for quality visits with your dogs! Your pets and your home environment are important to you. I will exercise the utmost care with both and make sure you feel comfortable entrusting me with either or both.
About: I have taken care of and been around many dogs since childhood. Growing up, my first dog was a Jack Russell Terrier. We got him in 2009 and he lived a happy active life until 2021. In 2022, I adopted an Australian Cattle/Great Dane mix. I also have experience caring for and looking after Golden Retrievers, Labradors, Maltese, Pitbulls, and Dachshunds. My schedule is highly flexible! I am able to switch my schedule to my client's needs to make sure their pet is taken care of. I am available on weekdays, weekends, and most holidays. My dog is super friendly and loves having doggy friends around. I am able to go on long walks and spend time doing enriching activities.

“Allison has been such an amazing "friend" to our dog, Kona. We can tell how much Kona is loved and cared for while we are away at work and school. We get regular updates on how Kona is doing, including pictures! Would definitely recommend Allison for your dog's needs!”

About: I’ve taken care of or have been responsible for a dog for as long as I can remember. I’ve dog sat for a family friend on multiple occasions. As well as having two dogs of my own a cane corso and a multi-poodle I know the patience, time, and energy it takes to take care of your pet. I currently have no other jobs meaning I can give your pet all the love and care they deserve. I’m free every day of the week from 6am to 3pm and I’m willing to work a bit later if needed. I’ll follow your pet care instructions to the letter and will make sure that your dog feels loved and cared for. Having a dog of my own gives your pet the chance to make a new friend or get used to other animals.

About: I currently WFH as a Client Finance Manager for an ad agency and recently completed my MBA degree online. Somehow I still have a lot of free time and I love pups! I have my own 4 year old cavapoo Eloise, and an 11 month old mini poodle/mini schnauzer, Charlie Sheen. I have personally trained them both as service dogs via Pettable. We go on walks 2-3x every day along the beautiful bay trail, and would love to walk your dog too! Hire me to dog-sit, dog walk, and take care of your pup; I offer extra attention with snuggles, kisses, and plenty of outdoor time! I currently work from home and have plenty of free time to help walk/play with/babysit pups! I can be extremely flexible regarding time. I have a car and can go anywhere to dog-sit your pup! I can be present for a few hours in the house, take them on a long walk, or simply drop by to check in and feed the pup!

Hope was so easy to work with and Harper loved her! I could tell Harper enjoyed her time with Hope because on the second walk day she rushed to the door to greet Hope with her tail a wagging! On both days Harper was joyful and perfectly tired when she was returned. Hope was professional and friendly. I will hire Hope again in the future!

Lauri is absolutely amazing with our anxious rescue Piper. From the very first meet-and-greet where she showed up in bright colored leggings so that Piper could identify her, to her very patient steps to build trust and rapport with our pup and each family member (even remembering career paths and school trips!), Lauri is nothing but pure heart, sincerity, and kindness. This particular neighborhood walk turned into last minute daycare on our mutual continual conversations, when we all could see Piper coming out of her shell. One of Lauri’s many great talents is being able to discern the limits of our Piper — when to challenge her and when to give her space — and this gift has been rewarded with Piper welcoming Lauri with a greater speed than she ever has anyone else. We are thrilled to have found Lauri and know that she will be folded into our village for years to come.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
