About: I grew up with two dogs and have a lot of experience walking and caring for them, including senior dogs. My childhood dog lived to 17 and lived with me in the last year of his life. I have so much gratitude for the sitters and walkers who helped us care for him. I just moved back to the Bay Area and I'm excited to become a Rover sitter and walker myself! I have a flexible schedule working from home and would love spend time walking your dog and giving them attention and love! I'm currently self-employed and working from home, so I'm flexible to go for walks or drop in to check on your pup during the day or in the evenings! I'm happy to take your dog for long walks, play with them at home, and whatever else you need, whether it's a walk, feeding, drop-in, or something else!
“Donovan did a great job! He messaged me when he picked up Chuy, updated me along the walk and communicated once he dropped him off. He was on time walked for the full hour and was friendly. 10 out of 10 would recommend.”

“Samantha did such a great job with both our senior large dog and our small puppy. She walked them and fed them and followed all of our instructions. She was also very flexible as my schedule changed and was happy to accommodate our changes. I would definitely book her dog walking services again!”

“Absolutely fantastic pet partner. Erika is great with people and dogs (and knows the priorities from lots of experience with both.) Thrilled to have her as part of the pet care team.”

“Natalie is a great dog walker! She has a calming influence and spent extra time to get our dog comfortable with her, before a weeklong stints of 2x day walks. She also sent us photos so we could see he missed us less by the day. Will reach out to Natalie again when we have the need!”

About: Hello, my name is Candance and I can’t wait to meet your fur babies! I have been working with animals of all kinds for 10+ years. I have done long term sitting, walking, and special needs care for dogs and cats. I also have two rescue cats myself Hira who has impaired vision and epilepsy and Nisha who is blind. I am very use to detailed medication plans and treatments because of this. I work from home full time and this allows me a lot of freedom to go for walks during the day or work from someone else’s home and be there all day. I will always treat your animals with love and kindness and will always do my best to communicate with you to put you at ease. Don’t hesitate to message to ask any questions or for potential bookings! I currently work full time remotely and this gives me a lot of freedom to work at other houses or be out with your pets! Treating my clients houses with respect is my top priority next to your pets safety. I believe is lots of communication to hopefully instill trust between us and my care for your pet.

“Terence came through in a pinch when I had some last minute changes in my plans and was super flexible with out schedule and clearly a big dog lover and great caregiver. Definitely plan to book again!”

“V was so helpful and responsive. What started as a weekend of dog walks turned into a month of regular dog walks at various times thru the day. V was quick to respond to my inquires and Ernest really seemed to like them. I highly recommend V for big dogs like Ernest (and likely any dog smaller than 90 lbs, which I know is many!). They handled his hesitancies (and mine) well with us scheduling a meet and greet and then treating him well thru all the walks. Thanks V!”

About: I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember, 20 years with cats and, more recently, 6 hands-on years with dogs, including newborn puppy and kitten care. Whether it’s a long walk, a game of fetch, or quiet cuddle time, my priority is always making sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for. 🐾 I recently finished my Master’s degree and I’m now working toward my LPCC license to become a therapist. That means I’m fully available right now, 7 days a week from 6am to 10pm, to walk, play with, and care for your pets. 🐾 I’ll make sure your pet is well hydrated throughout our time together and takes any breaks they need. Whether it’s a walk around the block, a park visit, or quiet time at home, making sure your pet has fun and feels safe is always my top priority. 🐶🐱
“We loved Isaiah! Or senior dog Stella clearly loved him too. You can tell right away how much he cares about animals and the connection he shares with them. His text and photo updates always made us feel connected with or dog, even when we weren’t home. Very trustworthy and great at his job. Would absolutely recommend Isaiah to anyone and would hire him again.”

About: Since I was 12 I would pet sit for neighbors and family friends in my area. I always loved being around dogs since I was a toddler and still continue to provide quality care for my clients. I also raised my own pup fully on my own, constantly catering to different dietary needs and walking schedules based on his age. Although he just recently passed I understand the extra attention that is necessary for dogs who are seniors or have certain traits/needs and of course will be able to properly care for any 4 legged friend you have in your family. I am a UC Berkeley student home for the summer fully free to match any of my clients schedules, I also work weekends and holidays . Being 21 I have tons of experience with pet sitting and baby sitting. I myself raised my own furball for 16 years and understand the needs and attention that is necessary for those who are in their senior years. I also have catered to any dietary needs necessary for those with particular dietary preferences. And of course provide a space filled with unlimited love and attention.
“Karen is totally great! I appreciated her emails confirming her walks with Annie. My little dog readily took to her and clearly was well exercised. I hope to schedule with Karen again.”

“Hollie did a great job walking Lyla and Daniel. They can be a handful (especially Lyla), and Hollie’s been kind and patient with them. Hollie’s punctual, communicative, and clear with me about what’s happening with the pups! I’m glad that she was able to spend some time with them!”

“Awesome walker, very communicative, took great care of our pup, and was really flexible when we needed to make a last minute change. Would highly recommend Swami to other folks.”

“Kayla was amazing. She came through in a pinch when I was too under the weather to walk my pup. She was very easygoing. She tired my dog out, which was exactly the goal. Thank you.”

About: I had a German Shepherd growing up. I felt very close to him. I currently don’t own a dog, but I’d love to own one someday. I often get to see and spend time with my sister’s dog who I love so much, and I always look forward to seeing him. I believe that I’ll be a great dog sitter. I currently don’t have any other job, so I’ll have plenty of time to look after people’s dogs. I’ll make great use of my days caring for people’s dogs. I’ll care for people’s dogs in their homes by feeding, playing with them, and taking them out for walks. I’ll be great company for the dogs.
“Danielle is a super dog walker. My two loved her and she loved them right back. She was on time every day and always responsive to the dogs' needs -- and to mine. I would hire her again in a minute.”
“Chandlor did a great job walking my two dogs - together and separately. They greeted him with enthusiasm and came back well exercised. You can tell he has dogs of his own & knows how to communicate with them. Thanks, Chandlor”

Kimmy was amazing with my dog Isabel!! She was kind and understanding, and Isabel (who is generally afraid of new people) seemed comfortable with her immediately. I really appreciated her clear and quick communication and her timeliness. Would recommend her 1000%!!

Alison was very very helpful with my puppy Mellow. She followed all the directions I gave and made me feel at ease knowing my puppy is getting the care we want. She was punctual and sent some cute update pics of Mellow, which I loved seeing at work. I feel comfortable with Allison walking my little guy. 😇

Heather was an absolutely wonderful dog walker for my two mini schnauzers! She walked them multiple times a week and was always reliable, attentive, communicative and great about following all of my instructions. I have one very social dog and one who is much more shy and cautious, and Heather did such a great job with both of their personalities. She was patient and took the time to earn their trust, and I could tell from my doggy camera that they would actually wait for her walks, which says a lot about how much they loved seeing her. I would happily recommend Heather to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and dependable dog walker. She was fantastic with my pups, and I’m so grateful for the care she gave them. Highly recommend! 🐾❤️

Leonard was fantastic! He stepped in to walk my dogs with literally less than a day’s notice after I was already out of town on vacation. Since I had already left, my adult daughter met him, introduced him to the dogs, and showed him where everything was. From that point on, everything went smoothly. Every day I received Rover Cards with photos, the route, distance, and time of each walk, which gave me real peace of mind while I was away. It was my first time using Rover, and Leonard made it such a positive experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to book him again, and he’ll definitely be my first choice the next time I need someone to care for my dogs. Highly recommended!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
