About: I've taken care of many dogs from chihuahua's, poodle mixes, corgi's and pointers. I have the most experience with small dogs but would love to take care of your large pups too! I have experience caring for and feeding medication to senior dogs from Muttville in San Francisco and lived and cared for a very anxious corgi for two years so have a lot of experience navigating and understanding when a dog needs space. I cannot wait to meet your pup! I'm starting grad school in late august so have plenty of time to play with your pups! I'm available weekdays and weekends for now and will update my schedule once school is back in session. I have a small fenced in yard if the pup needs a quiet enclosed area to play in. I have experience crating anxious corgis and giving medication and am willing to follow any rules you have to ensure good training and safety for your dog. Ultimately, I just want you and your pet to be comfortable!
About: What sets me apart is the genuine care and attention I give every animal. Friends and family have trusted me for years to care for their pets, and I treat each one as if they were my own. I also have experience working at a wildlife rehabilitation center, where I cared for animals with compassion and patience. That experience strengthened my understanding of animal behavior and reinforced my passion for providing safe, loving care. Whether your pet needs playtime, companionship, or a calm and attentive sitter, I'm committed to making them feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for while you're away. I currently work from home and live by myself, which gives me the flexibility to provide attentive, consistent care throughout the day. My schedule allows me to accommodate your pet's routine, whether that's walks, playtime, feeding, medication, or simply keeping them company. I'm happy to work with you to make sure your pet receives the care and attention they're used to while you're away. I provide a safe, calm, and loving environment where pets can feel comfortable and at home. I live in a secure apartment and have access to a very walkable neighborhood, making it easy to provide regular potty breaks, walks, and exercise throughout the day. I always follow each pet's usual routine, including feeding schedules, playtime, and any special care instructions, so they feel as comfortable as possible. Whether I'm caring for pets in my home or yours, I make sure they receive plenty of attention, affection, and personalized care while you're away.
“Rong is fantastic! She’s taken care of my kitty a couple of times now and always does a great job. She’s been super accommodating to last minute schedule changes, and is always kind and thorough. My cat loves her and I feel so much better leaving knowing Rong is watching her!”

About: I had a German Shepherd growing up. I felt very close to him. I currently don’t own a dog, but I’d love to own one someday. I often get to see and spend time with my sister’s dog who I love so much, and I always look forward to seeing him. I believe that I’ll be a great dog sitter. I currently don’t have any other job, so I’ll have plenty of time to look after people’s dogs. I’ll make great use of my days caring for people’s dogs. I’ll care for people’s dogs in their homes by feeding, playing with them, and taking them out for walks. I’ll be great company for the dogs.

“Natalie was a great cat sitter for my 16 year old hairless cat. She was thoughtful, reliable, punctual, and followed instructions perfectly. The photos of him licking his chops or emerging from his blankets were so cute! Thank you so much Natalie! I plan to call you again.”

“Alix was a great sitter for our two cats! I could tell when I got home they were happy, not out of their element, and had been given lots of love while we were gone! Alix also had great communication and kept us updated the whole time we were gone! Thank you!😸”

“Super thorough with our kitties, I really liked how she wanted to meet them first before dropping in while we were gone. Her updates were detailed, you can tell she puts effort and care into the drop ins and it made me feel better about being away from the kitties.”

About: I am a long time caregiver for human adults with disabilities and animals in the bay area. I am reliable, attentive and adaptive to the needs of animals and people in my care. I am comfortable caring for pets in need of extra hygiene or medical/wound care. I am a foster through Berkeley humane. I provide doggy day care for people in my social network. I have raised a few batches of kittens. I will treat your pet as if they were my own. My counterpart and dog, Milkshake, is a great host and adapts well to the personality and boundaries of visiting pups. He is also great at bringing out visiting dogs' playful sides, and your pup will likely return home having been expelled all of their zoomies. I understand how important our pets are to all of us, one thing I love to do while caring for someones pet is to send them multiple photos/videos per day to show what their fur baby is getting up to. I get anxious when I am away from my dog too long and worry about him so I know how it goes, your pet will be well taken care of with me. I am a work from home data engineer working out of my home in peaceful North Berkeley. My workday schedule is very flexible with ample opportunity for several short walks around the neighborhood throughout the day. I live in a 6 bedroom home in North Berkeley, an established grouphouse with 4 other folks in their late 20s. We have a peaceful, fun and stress free home. I have a fenced front hard with enough room for zoomies and easy access for potty breaks. I have a large sunny back deck for dog sunbathing. I also have a working fireplace for warming up the paws during the cold/rainy season. My housemates are great with animals and provide additional attention, pets and socialization (2 work from home, 2 work out of the home).
About: I genuinely love dogs and have hands-on experience helping friends who sit professionally. I’m patient with puppies, attentive to seniors, and focused on building trust, safety, and fun. As a STEM student at UC Berkeley, I have free breaks and especially open weekends, which I love spending walking, caring for, and bonding with dogs. In clients’ homes, I follow feeding routines, give walks, refresh water, offer play or comfort, clean up after them, and share photo updates for reassurance.

“One word: AWESOME! Vivian was an amazing caretaker not only for our cat Luna, but for our backyard chickens too! Each visit we received a bunch of photos of both Luna and our chickens and Vi also came over before our scheduled visit to go over all our instructions. Would DEFINITELY book again!”

About: I am an undergraduate student at UC Berkeley studying Political Science. I have several years of experience cat and dog sitting for various friends and family members. Most recently, I attended to a family friend's two cats, spending quality time with them each day, feeding them, playing with them, and clearing out their litter boxes. In the past, I have also walked dogs and dog-sitted while owners were on vacation. As a pet owner myself, I enjoy spending time with cats and dogs and am extremely attentive to their needs. Additionally, I have experience following multi-step instructions regarding pet care that are suited to the owners' preferences. I have lots of free time given that my class schedule is going to be light this year. When I'm at school, I don't get to be with my family pet, so I would love to bring cats and dogs into my daily/weekly routine. I treat every pet as if they were my own and always follow the owner's routine as closely as possible. I know that consistency helps pets feel comfortable, so I make sure they receive their meals on schedule, get plenty of fresh water, regular potty breaks, exercise, playtime, and lots of attention and affection. When caring for pets in a client's home, I respect both the pet's routine and the owner's home. I'll keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you're away. If pets are staying in my home, they'll have a clean, safe, and comfortable environment with plenty of supervision. I'll make sure they get exercise, enrichment, and a calm place to rest, while monitoring them closely for any changes in behavior or health. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, happy, and loved while their family is away.
“Ana was great again watching our kitties while we were away. Appreciated all the pics and could tell our kitties really enjoyed getting cuddles and playtime. She was also thoughtful and was quick to bring up any small details she noticed (like any small deviation in our cat’s BM). And always very communicative on when her schedule changed.”

About: What sets me apart is my deep understanding of pets' unique needs, gained through years of hands-on experience with animals of all ages, breeds, and temperaments. Whether I'm caring for playful puppies, energetic adults, or senior pets with special requirements, I tailor my approach to ensure every animal feels safe, loved, and understood. There is a long line of veterinarians in my family therefore I understand the importance of quality care. My goal is to provide peace of mind for you and a second home for your furry friend, where they’ll receive the same level of care and affection they get from you. Fun fact I hope to become a veterinarian after school! As a college student-athlete, my schedule is flexible. I'm available every day aligning pet care around my class and practice times. Any changes or commitments are communicated in advance for seamless planning and reliable pet care. I am a student-athlete at Berkeley and am looking for a part-time job to spend time and help out with your furry friends. I know your pets mean the world to you, which is why safety is my top priority and I am committed to providing the best care for them so you can rest assured that they are taken care of while you are away.
About: For the last four years I’ve lived in a home with two Rhodesian Ridgebacks. One was a senior at 13 years old and the other is three. I’ve learned how to adapt to their different needs based on age and personality while setting boundaries and aligning to my Housemate’s desires for their care. (Which has helped me get to know new dogs pretty quickly.) We walk, play and cuddle. When needed I administer medication, feed them, and sometimes cook for them. I look forward to chatting with you about your family’s needs. When house sitting I do not schedule any other families for walks or drop-ins. The care I provide is all inclusive so that your baby gets all of my love and care. If I am not house sitting, I’m available everyday after 11am for walks and drop-ins within a 1 mile radius of lower Rockridge or easily reachable by public transportation. To ensure safety and comfort, I won’t be walking any other dogs outside of your household. I am available to spend time with your pet(s) in their home where they will be the most comfortable. I’ll come to you for walks.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Berkeley
Tammy always takes great and consistent care of each of our 3 cats (food, water, litter, play) and is particularly skilled at engaging the cats in fun play, which is so important for the cats' health and well-being. Tammy's signature action shot photos and written updates in the Rover cards are always a treat to see when on vacation. Tammy is really tuned in to each cat's unique personality.

Kari was wonderful. Our cat can be particular about people and she warmed up to Kari very quickly, since she was being attended to so well. I love how she talked to Kibs, payed attention to her litterbox and eating habits and did all the extra little things to keep her routine in place. I'm confident our cat had a nice time on our trip. All the rover cards were very detailed.

Ana is the best; she is a true professional. We have hired her twice now: once for house/animal sitting and once for cat care drop ins. Her communication is prompt and clear. She is a pleasure to work with and is our first call when we need pet-sitting. Thanks!
V was absolutely wonderful. They took excellent care of our diabetic kitty, who has multiple daily medications to take. They were very detail oriented, always on time, and regular with updates. Unexpectedly, we received some very large packages while we were out, and V kindly moved those into the house for us!!

Sandrine has provided care for my elderly, diabetic cat a number of times, and every time she does a wonderful job. My cat is happy, and my house is in perfect condition. I'm so grateful for her, she makes trips possible for me, despite my cat's care needs. Thank you, Sandrine!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
