“Vivian was wonderful with Honey. They knew just what to do and gave me great tips to help with her issues of separation anxiety and crate training. They took a walk during the 3 hrs I worked and I never heard any barking as I had in the past. I really appreciated that they made themselves available at late notice and the thoughtful care they used in dealing with Honey.”

“Super thorough with our kitties, I really liked how she wanted to meet them first before dropping in while we were gone. Her updates were detailed, you can tell she puts effort and care into the drop ins and it made me feel better about being away from the kitties.”

“I’m so glad Jolene and I found Shuhan! He is incredibly reliable, accommodating of Jolene’s needs and flexible with my schedule. I can tell he truly loves animals and I can trust he’ll take good care of Jolene when I’m away. He also takes the silliest pictures of Jojo, his updates/report cards always brighten my day.”

“Kai is incredible! Communication was easy and she was so reliable. We have a senior cat that needed lots of special attention and a complicated feeding instruction, but Kai was able to administer everything the old kitty needed each day, with reports showing what we needed to know. She also noticed the old kitty was losing appetite and flagged it so we can change up his diet in the middle of the booking. We really appreciate the attentive care. We also have another very shy female cat in the house, and Kai was able to approach her on day three!!! It was extremely special.”

“Rong is fantastic! She’s taken care of my kitty a couple of times now and always does a great job. She’s been super accommodating to last minute schedule changes, and is always kind and thorough. My cat loves her and I feel so much better leaving knowing Rong is watching her!”

About: I am compassionate about dogs and truly want them to enjoy themselves in my home. As an animal shelter volunteer at OAS, I am particularly experienced in helping shy dogs relax! I WFH from Monday to Friday, so I provide breakfast and a AM walk just before I start my work day. During the work day, I provide potty breaks in my private, fully fenced yard. After work, I can provide a PM walk, dinner, and evening cuddles! Your pup will have my 15lb dog as a buddy during the day. I WFH for 5 days a week, and my husband WFH for 2 days a week. The dogs have access to a fully fenced private backyard to play and sunbathe.
About: I have house sat for dog owners many times, caring for all sizes from Chihuahua to Bernese Mountain Dog. I love all the personalities. Happy to spend a lot of time hanging out with them, playing, and taking long walks. I'm working remotely so I can be available for immediate local requests. From house sits to drop-ins, I am a reliable repeat caregiver for your recurring needs. I always follow the owner's particular requests to the letter. As a former pet owner I know how it feels to leave your beloved animals with strangers so I want to give that assurance to anyone booking me.
About: For two years, I spent over 350 hours volunteering with dogs at the SF SPCA, taking all available dog training courses and earning certifications to work with puppies and dogs of all behavioral levels. I also served as a dog “matchmaker” where I helped clients find their perfect companion. My soft spot has always been for the nervous, shy dogs. I love seeing how time, space, and gentleness can open them up. It was incredible to watch them blossom over a few socialization visits and walks, and even more rewarding to help them find a home that would suit them, and their owners, best. I’ve had dogs myself over the years and am a frequent dog and cat sitter for many of my friends with pets. While my volunteer experience has been dog-focused, I'm equally comfortable with cats (have taken care of a house that had 15!) and have cared for more exotic pets too, including a parrot, hedgehog, and ferrets! I'm available for home visits/care for all animals and currently walks up to a mile. Additionally, I have a quiet, pet-friendly home and am able to board on a case by case basis for dogs I've worked with previously. I have experience working with dogs with different behavioral challenges (e.g. leash pulling, on and off leash aggression, very shy, anxious, etc.). Each dog is different, and I’m highly adept at reading cues and adapting based on their needs, as well as taking direction from owners. I'm used to multiple-pet households, complex feeding schedules, and administering medications. If your pet has specific needs I haven't addressed, send me a note! If I have experience in it I'll share, and if it's something I can learn, I'd love to. I want your pet to feel like I'm the next best thing to having you there and want to mimic their usual schedule and routine wherever possible. I’m a potter and am able to make my own schedule, so can accommodate you and your pet’s needs. If they have a favorite park, I'll plan our walks to go there. If they often get treats from a neighborhood shop, I'll include that route in our walk. For visits/walks I'll share a photo and update so you have peace of mind - I'll let you know when I arrive, and when I leave. And if there's anything out of the ordinary, I'll bring it to your attention. I want you to have absolute trust that your pet is getting the best care possible and that I'm looking out for them as if they were my own. I also want them to have the best time and to get excited the next time I see them! As a potter, I set my own hours and have flexibility throughout the day. I can accommodate morning, midday, or afternoon visits and walks, and am generally available for last-minute bookings. For every visit or walk, I'll send a photo and update - letting you know when I arrive, when I leave, and flagging anything out of the ordinary. For boarding, I have a quiet, pet-friendly home and only take dogs I've worked with previously to ensure a good fit. I'm experienced reading behavioral cues and adapting to each dog's needs, and I'll always follow your routines, feeding schedules, and any medical requirements closely.
“This is the second time we’ve booked with John. He is AWESOME! We don’t trust just anyone with our rescue pitbull, as he’s a big boy and has a couple extra things to keep an eye on. Bob loves John! It really means a lot when your dog gets excited to be around a sitter. Makes us feel a little better leaving him in the first place. John is so thoughtful too, bright a package in for us on the last trip, and Bob is always fed and has plenty of water when we return. I feel really great about leaving my best friend in the care of someone so responsible and easy to communicate with. Thanks for everything John!”

About: I’m an animal lover and current graduate student at UC Berkeley! I’ve had a dog in the past who I took care of through his elder years and am familiar with the importance of consistent meal times,! administering medication orally, or any other special instructions for your pets. I have also pet sat for friends (both dogs and cats) for weeks at a time and can build bonds with your pets so that they have the most comfortable time under my care. I can provide regular photo and video updates and prioritize providing a stress-free and smooth time for your pets! For the days and times that I have listed as available, I either work remotely or am completely free. With this schedule, I can fully keep an eye on your pets for the duration of my visit and will send photo and video updates regularly! I am committed to providing and safe and enriching experience for your pet! If there are any special instructions, I will read it thoroughly to ensure that your pet has the best experience. I will also be easy to contact during the duration of your pet’s care!
About: I grew up with dogs in the family my entire life, and can’t imagine going day to day without a fur-baby around! I’ve been dog sitting family and friends’ dogs for most of my life. They tend to leave my care happy, well-loved, and sometimes even knowing a new trick! I’ve cared for dogs from puppies to seniors, and I have experience caring for seniors with special needs as well. My priority is to make your dog feel loved and safe, and for them to have a great time! My partner, Marco, and I have two dogs of our own: Sonnet & Lyric. Sonnet is a small curly fluff with a big personality. She loves birds, fetch, and reserving some “me time” when she wants a good nap. I trained her as a puppy (basics and tricks). Lyric is a diva who loves playtime, anything edible, and cozy spots to nestle into. Your pup will have a fun and stimulating stay here! We have a good amount of space in our house, a small enclosed outdoor deck, and a fully fenced backyard with plenty of room to run and play! There are great neighborhood walks in the area, a fully fenced backyard to play in, and a toy basket filled with goodies. I’m also happy to practice training with your pup while they’re here if you’d like - just let me know! I work remotely most weekdays, so I’m home and available to hang out and play with your dog. On weekends I am fully available all day! We have a fully fenced backyard, as well as plenty of other cozy spots in the house for your pup to relax. We allow dogs on furniture (but can discourage that with your dog if you’d prefer). We have plenty of room for your dog’s crate, bed, and/or favorite toy(s).
“Ana has been fantastic with dropping in on our shy cat when we've been away. Great communication and really appreciate her flexibility with last minute bookings when we were delayed getting home.”

About: I’ve taken care of several dogs and cats throughout the years. I love showering them w/ the play and food they need. Excited to help! I’m currently working full time! I can support with some walks on the weekdays and weekends. Pet sitting varies with my schedule, but I’m open to it! I make sure the area is safe and clean. Everything is put away, so the environment is great for dogs and cats to relax and play in the area.
About: Mom & Daughter Pet Care Team 🐾 Hi! I’m Cindy, a reliable and caring mom who has teamed up with my animal-loving daughter to provide loving, attentive care for your pets. We treat every animal like part of our family and understand how important it is to feel confident leaving your pet with someone you trust. I am the primary caregiver and fully responsible for all services, scheduling, communication, and safety. My daughter joins me for walks and visits when appropriate, under my supervision, and absolutely adores spending time with animals. She has grown up around pets and is gentle, patient, and respectful of their needs. We’re especially great with dogs who enjoy extra attention, calm companionship, and consistency. Whether it’s walks, drop-ins, or overnight care, your pet will be safe, loved, and well cared for. I’m happy to answer any questions and always offer a meet-and-greet so you can feel completely comfortable. Pet care is a natural and consistent part of my daily and weekly routine. I plan my schedule around dog walks and drop-in visits after school and work so that pets receive reliable, on-time care and unhurried attention. Anytime after 5pm M-F and Saturday and Sundays we are pretty open, just send a request and we will do our best to accommodate you and your fur baby. I intentionally limit the number of bookings I accept to ensure each pet (including our own fur babies) gets the time, patience, and care they deserve. For dog walking and drop-in visits, I focus on providing calm, attentive, and reliable care while maintaining your pet’s normal routine. I am the primary caregiver and personally handle all walks, visits, communication, and safety. My daughter may accompany me at times under my supervision and helps provide extra love and companionship, but all care decisions and responsibilities are mine. During walks, I prioritize safety first by using secure leashes, following your preferred routes, and adjusting pace and distance to your dog’s age, energy level, and comfort. Walks include positive reinforcement, sniff time, and plenty of attention. For drop-in visits, I make sure your pet is comfortable and cared for by providing fresh food and water, potty breaks, playtime, medication if needed, and lots of affection. I respect your home, follow all instructions carefully, and always leave things tidy. I provide regular updates with notes and photos so you can feel confident and connected while you’re away. Every pet is treated like a member of our family, with patience, kindness, and consistency.
“Jes is absolutely amazing! Jes is responsive, accommodating, kind, and very sweet with our cat child. We have a shy, rescue kitty that Jes immediately bonded with and we are now comfortable leaving town knowing that we have Jes checking in on our cat. Absolutely recommend Jes to anyone and everyone!”

About: I have always been a huge fan of animals, ever since I was a child. My family has had many dogs throughout the years, as well as cats, reptiles, and even fish at a time. I am very social and respectful of both the owners and the pets, and am looking to help however I can. In the case that I am unavailable or out of town, I would also highly recommend my good friend Kaia B as another option, as she has helped my family many times in the past and is super friendly and great with pets. https://www.rover.com/members/kaia-b-experienced-dog-walker/?bep=brand%3Drover%26event%3Daccount-sign-in-google-success I just graduated university so I have a lot of free time on my hands and am happy to housesit or take care of pets whenever works best for the owners. A proper balance of love, play, and respect. I make sure my pets know they are loved and cared for, and play with them if they want and let them rest if needed. I am happy to take pets on walks or follow certain procedures or training in order to maintain routine for the pets if necessary as well.
About: We are HUGE dog fans and life-long dog owners, but soon after our dog babies passed away I got pregnant with twins and now we spend too much time traveling to get another full time doggie. Thank goodness for Rover!!! This is the PERFECT alternative! I walk 10K+ steps/day (every morning, afternoon, & eve) and go to Ohlone Dog Park almost daily. We have a HUGE fenced-in back yard and we leave the back doors open for doggies to explore our beautiful garden and comfy home as they please. We live on a super quiet street a few blocks from the Ohlone dog parks and a nice walk to the outdoor beer garden and outdoor cafes. I’ll send you photos and videos several times a day unless you tell me not to. The four of us will fight over who gets to sleep with your dog, and we’ll cuddle and play with him/her more than 99% of the dog-loving population. We are also happy to help with training and give your doggy a nice bubble bath or spray down and brushing with the garden hose. Trust me, we’re all about the doggies. The one thing is we don’t want doggies who will bark incessantly because we love our neighbors :). Hi there! My husband and I and our twin 11-year-old twins are HUMONGOUS dog fans. No written bio could do justice. Between us, we have more than 90 years of dog ownership and doggy care experience - we consider ourselves the luckiest family in the world because we get to spend hours on end every day snuggling their fluff, rolling with them around on the floor, playing ball and hide and go seek chasing them in the garden, singing improvised operas to them in “their” voices, calling them ridiculous names without them caring, giving them spa treatments, taking them to the beach or on a trail hikes with a friend, and fighting over who gets to sleep with them each night. Plus they force me to get outside and exercise and connect with my neighbors… honestly, I don’t get why everyone doesn’t do this. We travel a lot in the summer and we go skiing a lot in the winter so we decided not to get our own dog because this is such an excellent alternative! I run and/or walk every morning, afternoon, and evening. On occasion, when have a dentist appointment or something, my husband, Ed, takes the doggies with him during the day on adventures or just to work (he works for himself). We also have a wall of glass doors that lead into our spacious fenced in garden. We rarely close the glass doors completely, so the doggies just saunter in and out as they wish. I spend a lot of time in the garden weeding, watering, lounging on the outdoor couches with a doggie or two curled in my lap as I chat on the phone. We are also able to supervise your pup(s) 24x7 and provide transportation to a vet in case of a pup-mergency. Looking forward to caring for your pup, Eve and Ed Why I love dog sitting We've both owned dogs and grew up with dogs, and LOVE them. The only reason we don't own a dog right now is because we go away often, and so this is the perfect alternative! We can "own" a dog whenever we are available!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Berkeley
Bea was very attentive to our kitty and matched her energy/needs very well. She was very willing to adapt to whatever our cat was interested in doing-cuddling, playing, etc. She was easy to communicate with and you can tell she really loves cat sitting. Thanks Bea!

Amber was absolutely wonderful! Our three kitties (ages 13, 12, and 8) have never spent a night alone in their lives, so leaving them was a big deal for us. Amber took incredible care of them, feeding them, playing with them, sending regular photos and updates, cleaning up after them, and making sure our middle child kitty received his twice-daily insulin and daily medication. She even handled an unexpected sink leak without missing a beat. Amber is dependable, trustworthy, thoughtful, and clearly loves animals. Knowing our kitties were in such caring hands gave us tremendous peace of mind while we were away. We would happily recommend her to anyone looking for an exceptional pet sitter!
We’ve trusted Tallulah to care for our cat for the past two years, and she has been great. She is reliable, kind, and truly cares about our cat’s well-being. She is able to give our cat his medication giving us complete peace of mind whenever we’re away. She keeps us updated, is easy to communicate with, and always goes above and beyond to make sure our cat is comfortable and happy. After two years of consistently excellent care, we can confidently say she’s someone we trust completely. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable, compassionate, and experienced pet sitter, and we’ll absolutely continue booking with her.

Huckleberry did a great job looking after my baby, following instructions well, being respectful of my place, and best of all being a good friend to my cat when she was lonely. The quick responsiveness was so awesome, especially when I unexpectedly needed the autofeeder refilled mid-trip. Highly recommended!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
