About: I’ve had cats my entire life, up to 4 at a time and am very comfortable and confident taking care of pets. I’ve got a few cats of my own and would love to spend some time with your lovely cats when you’re not around :) I’ve also grown up around dogs and have spent much time playing with and walking the dogs of friends and family members! I am excited to play with your pups :) I am currently between jobs so my schedule is quite flexible for pet visits. Daytime is preferred but can be flexible depending on location and pet needs! My cats are allowed outside in the fenced yard during the day but only while we are home and able to watch them. They all come in early evening and stay inside throughout the night. I am happy to keep your cat or dog company inside your home or outside in a yard and on a walk depending on your preferences.
“Alix was a great sitter for our two cats! I could tell when I got home they were happy, not out of their element, and had been given lots of love while we were gone! Alix also had great communication and kept us updated the whole time we were gone! Thank you!😸”

“Cassandra has been a fantastic sitter. She goes above and beyond to make sure my new puppy is well cared for (and handled many logistical mishaps on my part with grace). She is very communicative and will also ask for more direction beyond what's listed on my profile. I will happily be a repeat client.”

About: I've taken care of many dogs from chihuahua's, poodle mixes, corgi's and pointers. I have the most experience with small dogs but would love to take care of your large pups too! I have experience caring for and feeding medication to senior dogs from Muttville in San Francisco and lived and cared for a very anxious corgi for two years so have a lot of experience navigating and understanding when a dog needs space. I cannot wait to meet your pup! I'm starting grad school in late august so have plenty of time to play with your pups! I'm available weekdays and weekends for now and will update my schedule once school is back in session. I have a small fenced in yard if the pup needs a quiet enclosed area to play in. I have experience crating anxious corgis and giving medication and am willing to follow any rules you have to ensure good training and safety for your dog. Ultimately, I just want you and your pet to be comfortable!

About: I had a German Shepherd growing up. I felt very close to him. I currently don’t own a dog, but I’d love to own one someday. I often get to see and spend time with my sister’s dog who I love so much, and I always look forward to seeing him. I believe that I’ll be a great dog sitter. I currently don’t have any other job, so I’ll have plenty of time to look after people’s dogs. I’ll make great use of my days caring for people’s dogs. I’ll care for people’s dogs in their homes by feeding, playing with them, and taking them out for walks. I’ll be great company for the dogs.

“Natalie was a great cat sitter for my 16 year old hairless cat. She was thoughtful, reliable, punctual, and followed instructions perfectly. The photos of him licking his chops or emerging from his blankets were so cute! Thank you so much Natalie! I plan to call you again.”

“Kai is incredible! Communication was easy and she was so reliable. We have a senior cat that needed lots of special attention and a complicated feeding instruction, but Kai was able to administer everything the old kitty needed each day, with reports showing what we needed to know. She also noticed the old kitty was losing appetite and flagged it so we can change up his diet in the middle of the booking. We really appreciate the attentive care. We also have another very shy female cat in the house, and Kai was able to approach her on day three!!! It was extremely special.”

About: I genuinely love dogs and have hands-on experience helping friends who sit professionally. I’m patient with puppies, attentive to seniors, and focused on building trust, safety, and fun. As a STEM student at UC Berkeley, I have free breaks and especially open weekends, which I love spending walking, caring for, and bonding with dogs. In clients’ homes, I follow feeding routines, give walks, refresh water, offer play or comfort, clean up after them, and share photo updates for reassurance.
“Rong is fantastic! She’s taken care of my kitty a couple of times now and always does a great job. She’s been super accommodating to last minute schedule changes, and is always kind and thorough. My cat loves her and I feel so much better leaving knowing Rong is watching her!”

“Crystal did an outstanding job taking care of my two spoiled cats while I was away for the holidays. I really appreciated the attentiveness to detail, the excellent communication, and the effort to establish strong rapport with my pets (one of whom is very shy and fearful). Highly recommend Crystal!”

“John is a cat sitter extraordinaire! My diabetic cat, Oliver, needs insulin shots and many are a bit squeamish around needles but John handled it all like a pro! Not only did he nail the medical stuff, but his constant updates and messages about how Oliver was doing really made me feel at ease. It's clear that John truly loves what he does, and Oliver couldn't have been in better hands. I will definitely be booking again ?”

“Valen always takes the best care of our pets! This time, they dropped in to give both cats and both dogs attention. The creatures definitely appreciated their love and attention!”

“I’m so glad Jolene and I found Shuhan! He is incredibly reliable, accommodating of Jolene’s needs and flexible with my schedule. I can tell he truly loves animals and I can trust he’ll take good care of Jolene when I’m away. He also takes the silliest pictures of Jojo, his updates/report cards always brighten my day.”

About: I’m an animal lover and current graduate student at UC Berkeley! I’ve had a dog in the past who I took care of through his elder years and am familiar with the importance of consistent meal times,! administering medication orally, or any other special instructions for your pets. “Anna took such great care of Theo and gave him so much love. He’s a quirky dog and she listened to all of my concerned and made me feel at peace leaving him with her when I rarely leave him with anyone. Would hire her again in an instant!”

About: I have always enjoyed being around animals and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I worked at a pet care facility for over a year, where I gained hands-on experience caring for puppies, senior dogs, cats, and multiple pets at the same time. I also learned how to give medications, trim nails, bathe pets, and follow different feeding, walking, and care routines. I understand that every pet has their own personality and needs. Some pets may want lots of playtime and attention, while others need extra patience and time to feel comfortable. I offer drop-in visits, overnight stays, and long-term care when needed. I will treat your pets with the same kindness and attention I would give my own, while keeping you updated so you can feel comfortable while you are away. I am currently working part time and have availability at all times of the week. My week to week is adaptive based off of pets that I care for that week, my work schedule is very flexible and can move around when needed! At my home, pets have access to a fully fenced yard where they can safely enjoy supervised outdoor time. I also have a large SUV, so I can comfortably transport pets of different sizes for walks, park visits, or other approved activities. I live in a safe, centrally located neighborhood that is great for everyday walks. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I am respectful of both the home and the pet’s normal routine. I understand that every animal has different feeding schedules, exercise needs, comfort levels, and household rules, so I pay close attention to all instructions. My goal is to help your pet feel as safe, relaxed, and comfortable as possible while you are away. I am also happy to send as many photo and video updates as you would like, so you can feel confident knowing your pet is being well cared for.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Berkeley
Lisa was amazing. We left our older cat, Muji, who was just diagnosed with diabetes and requiring medication and extra affection and our younger cat Miel. Aside from being professional, punctual and communicative, Lisa was so sweet to our cats and our oldest really loved her. I trusted her with the care of both my cats and have no regrets. She spent time with them, giving them lots of love, feeding them, helping with the litter robot etc. Don’t hesitate and hire Lisa.

Alisson was amazing with my cat, Taylor! She was incredibly attentive to Taylor's needs and made sure she was well cared for while I was away. She sent plenty of photos and updates, which gave me so much peace of mind, and it was clear Taylor received lots of pets, love, and treats. I truly couldn't have asked for a better person to trust with my cat. I highly recommend Alisson to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter!

V is fantastic! They were very patient with Teddy and provided such sweet photos with detailed updates on his mood, activity, food and litter status. They also kept his litter area clean which Teddy can be very messy If I wasn't moving away from the area I would have made them my go to sitter.

Jes is a fantastic catsitter! They checked in daily and sent so many great pics & videos. Our kitties were in good hands for over 2 weeks. I was happy to see that Jes was able to win over Violet so quickly! She’s usually not the friendly one. Would definitely book again!

Lydia did a phenomenal job looking after my anxious and emotionally needy cat while I was away! Lydia is timely, responsible and caring with pets, and she's great about giving detailed reports with each visit. I would absolutely recommend Lydia to anyone, including if your pet is anxious and not accustomed to strangers!

My second time booking John for drop in visits with my 2 cats. Really appreciate his great communication and thoroughness. He showed a lot of care and patience with my cats, even though they're extremely skittish and spent most of the time hiding. Definitely recommend John for any of your pet care needs!

Sarah’s amazing! My dog Jack was immediately obsessed with her (he likes everyone but LOVED Sarah). Sarah’s extremely easy to work with, super kind, communicative and knows animals extremely well. Jack has animal reactivity and she was extremely well-versed in this and equipped on how to handle that. Separately, she even deep cleans!!! I don’t know a better combo than someone who’s a dog whisperer and enjoys deep cleaning, but I’m really grateful to have met Sarah

Yen did an absolutely incredible job looking after our cat while we were away on vacation. Her daily updates were a pleasure to receive, with cute kitty pictures and helpful status updates. I got the impression upon returning that our cat was very well taken care of, and, as a bonus, there was no litter mess for us to clean up. Yen will definitely be our first call for any future kitty care needs while we’re out of town!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
