About: Small or large, reactive or secure, your dog will feel at home with me. For the last 10+ years I have been pet sitting and walking my neighbor's pets and this summer I'd like to expand my reach to the rest of the East Bay. I have experience administering medication, cooking food for pets, and making dogs feel at ease in my presence. In the last year or so I have picked up some dog training, and I would be happy to incorporate some of this training into my walks with your pup. Summer 2026 will be an extremely flexible time for me to pick up pet walking/sitting gigs. I have a dog of my own that will join dog walks only if my client is okay with it. I have a fenced yard and a housemate who works from home and loves dogs as well. I make sure my dog gets plenty of time outside and some movement throughout her day.

“I am so very thankful I found Cyndi! My little guy had to undergo spinal surgery, and I was so worried about finding the right person to help me take care of him now that I’ve had to go back to work. Cyndi has been an absolute Godsend, and I know my baby is in fantastic hands.”

“I am so thankful to have found Michael! He is absolutely extraordinary! He is very thorough and does even more than I expect every time. We have 5 cats and they all have a different personality and different needs. He is very sweet to each of them so I never worry when we are gone! About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and have had three of my own, which has helped me understand their different personalities, routines, and needs. I regularly take care of my cousin’s Husky and Shih Tzu when she’s busy, making sure they’re fed, exercised, and comfortable. Caring for animals has always come naturally to me, and I truly enjoy making sure they feel loved and cared for. 🐾 I have classes only on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I’m free the rest of the week to hang out with furry friends and give them lots of love and attention. “Melissa is a great cat sitter. She clearly cares a lot about animals and has an intuitive sense of caring for them. She rolled with the punches taking care of my indoor/outdoor cat, which comes with some quirks. She was always on time; and always very communicative. I’d feel great leaving her in charge of friendly again!”

“I chose Rebecca to look after my new 6-month old three-legged kitten. Based upon her profile and our meet & greet, I felt I could count on her to take good care of my precious little guy. Rebecca is an excellent communicator and detail oriented. My kitty was happy and well cared for when I returned. I will be reaching out to Rebecca next time I have to leave my little guy at home.”

About: Pet is part of my family. I grew up in a family with pets all the time and have extensive experience taking care of dogs and cats! I am currently working remotely and have enough time to take care of all the pets! My house has a big backyard for dogs to run and play and enough space inside the house for them. The house has fenced backyard and I am mainly working remotely, so I am able to pay attention to the pets most of the time!
“Carrie was our first experience with Rover. It was obvious, when meeting our cat for the first time, that Carrie made a special connection with our cat. She paid attention to the instructions we left for her to follow, and helped us feel confident in our selection, especially with daily photos and postings of our cat. We are totally pleased with Carrie and the wonderful care she provided for Ms Mimi. Mimi and her parents look forward to the opportunity to using her services in the future.”
About: I have cared for pets my entire life. My family had dogs and I owned a horse that I cared for and paid for since I was 13 until I left home for college. St that point I gave her to a person that would take care of her as I would. Since that time I have adopted cats as I lived in homes that did not allow dogs . I had to get my dog time in caring for friends and neighbors dogs whenever I could I’m currently working but have a flexible schedule. Caring for or playing with your pet will be my pleasure and your gift to me. I love all dogs and cats but will admit I miss having a dog of my own I can care for any cat in my home. I would prefer to sit for dogs in their own environment. I will care for your friends with just as much love and attention as you yourself would
“Sofia is a great sitter! She was able to watch our cat for a long weekend trip with less than a week notice, for which we are very grateful! She goes the extra mile even though our kitty isn’t very social. She even left us peaches from her family’s orchard!”

“Josephine takes excellent care of our kitty, leaves everything as clean or cleaner than before, is extremely responsive and flexible. And she sends great pictures of the cat playing and having a good time!”

“We've had Olivia watch our two cats a few times now, and she is great! She spends a lot of time playing with them, and the photos she sends of each visit really make us smile when we are far away from the little ones. I'd definitely recommend Olivia for cat sitting, and anything else!”

Michael did a great job caring for our shy and nervous kitty while we were away for a week. He did a great job reading the situation and used good judgment on how best to handle her when I was offline and unable to communicate with him. It was so reassuring to learn that after a few days she started making progress and came out to socialize with him!

Rae was terrific and treated our cats like her own. Our two kitties have sensitive stomachs and require very particular feedings, but Rae took it all in stride. She was friendly, approachable, arrived promptly, went above and beyond that ensure the kitties were well fed and well taken care of. It was great knowing they were in good hands while we were away. Thanks!
Laurena has watched our pets a couple of times now and we're so happy to have found her. We didn't have to worry a bit about our kitties while we were away. We received updates and photos regularly and the house was in great condition when we got back. Thanks again Laurena!

This was a long hall being separated from Edger for a month. Te' did a great job. So many litter box refreshes, many cans to open and serve and dental treats to dispense. All done expertly. I go home earlier than expected but no reason to adjust any payout. My place was as good as I found it and Edger actually met me at the door late in the night of my return. Thanks to Te' my month out of California ended peacefully and calmly.

Harriet does a great job, whatever is asked or needed, making it much easier to be away and not worry about pet care. She consustently provides updates, pictures, and notes about how everyone is doing or if something is different and is very responsive to texts. Flexible and accomodating on scheduling too. Couldn't ask for better care while I'm away.

We are very pleased with how Yasmin treated our dogs. She really took the time to play and take care of both dogs during her visit. My dogs loved playing with her and were always excited to hear her arrive. I will definitely book her again to take care of my dogs in the future as I know my dogs love and trust her.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
