“My dog had a wonderful time! Bonnie was incredibly accommodating and caring, and did a great job with a working breed — they had lovely walks and plenty of playtime together. I loved getting pictures and videos throughout the day, such a nice touch. She also sent updates on eating and snacking. Highly recommend for daycare!”

“I booked boarding with Jill (Hui-Min) for an extended work trip and is so happy I trusted my 3 year old golden doodle, Mika, in her care. From meeting Jill for the first time, she patiently addressed all my questions and even made specific an accommodations for Mika due to her not getting along with a separate dog she was watching at the time. Jill was very transparent with her alternative arrangements which put me at ease to leave her with Jill for an extended period of several weeks. I recommend booking Jill. Mika can’t wait to see Jill again at her house!”

“A huge THANK YOU to Michael, his mom, and Mayzie for taking such good care of our puppy for the day. Michael’s communication was great from the time of booking, through the entire day (he sent lots of photos and texts), until the end of the booking. He even took our pup on a couple of short walks, which was super nice of him. We could tell from the photos Michael sent us that our puppy was having so much fun and plenty of play time. We would definitely recommend Michael and hope to use him again.”

“Mariah has been a wonderful caretaker for a challenging pup with a major case of separation anxiety. She is easy to communicate with and takes great care in making sure my dog is comfortable when he is with her. He actually gets excited when we arrive at Mariah's house, which always puts me at ease knowing that he will be well taken care of and loved during the day.”

“Eileen and Rolando are amazing! We did a meet and greet with my pup and Toro before our weekly dog day care, very friendly invited us right in. Toro is a sweetheart and I'm glad my pup has a cheerful bud to hang with during the day. We get pictures and updates throughout the day and they take them out a couple of times, so plenty of attention and entertainment. Thank you both!”

About: I was lucky enough to have some amazing dogs in my life. As a teen a yellow lab named Bandit helped me through some of the toughest times of my life just by being my dog. Later in life a giant schnauzer named Effie came into my life. She was a big girl weighing in at 115 lbs. She was not the most energetic but navigating through day to day tasks with such a big dog is not for the unprepared. Those dogs gave me their greatest years and the combined experience they both granted me with their time here has prepared me to deal with any type of dog; regardless of shape or size and even personality type. I currently find myself with a ton of free time and I don't have any pets at this point in my life but have always missed the company of a cat or dog since I have grown up around animals for most of my life. I plan to care for a pet the same way I would perform any job or duty with the upmost of attention and care. Your pet would be cared for as if they were a human child. During walks I would watch our surroundings carefully to keep us both out of danger, of course water will be provided as well. I am fully prepared to tend to pets here at my home. I have hard wood floors so clean up would be no problem for me and there is a patch of grass in the back part of my apartment building.
About: I’m a responsible, dedicated animal lover with experience caring for both cats and dogs. As a former dog owner, I’ve cared for pets at every stage of life—from playful puppies and kittens to senior dogs and cats—giving me a well-rounded understanding of their different needs and personalities. My partner, Heber, is also experienced in caring for pets and is included on my profile. We work together to create a safe, fun, and loving environment where your pet feels comfortable and at home. We’re attentive to details, follow care instructions closely, and have experience with basic training, administering medication and always prioritizing your pet’s happiness, health, and routine. We love staying active with pets through walks, park visits, and playtime, making sure they stay happy and well cared for. I believe in taking care of pets as if they were a part of my family because they are yours! I am looking forward to being able to help out you and your pet and meeting a new friend! I currently work full-time but have the flexibility to work remotely on certain days. I’m fully available on weekends and happy to wake up early to feed, walk, and care for your fur baby, making sure they stay on their routine and feel well taken care of. I’m happy to care for your fur baby based on their specific routine and needs. I have experience administering medication, providing walks as needed, and crate care when required. My goal is to keep your pet as comfortable and stress-free as possible by maintaining their usual routine and giving them the care and love they’re used to.
“Kelly was wonderful with my pup Mochi, and easy to communicate with. I just got Mochi (a rescue) a couple of weeks ago so I was nervous about leaving him for the day but Kelly was very reassuring and Mochi had a great time!”

“Gail was absolutely amazing with Bosco. She was very flexible with my work times for pick up/drop off, and was available very last minute to watch him for me when I had work! Bosco made himself at home almost instantly with her and her family and was so happy and tired when I picked him up. We will absolutely be using Gail again for daycare!!”

Bonnie has been great, my senior pup stayed with them for dog day care during the week. She received walks throughout the day with photos shared. She's very accommodating and the communication throughout is great. I will plan on booking day care again with them. Thanks Bonnie!

My former Rover professional recently retired and I had to find a replacement. I was so, so glad I found this pair to watch my treasured Kyle. I have been interacting with Lucas. He is always prompt in meeting me when I drop off Kyle and when I pick him up. During our Meet and Greet Lucas showed me his home and doggie-perfect back yard. I was impressed. He also spent some time with me introducing me to the six other dogs that were there. The meeting was informative and a good chance for the two of us to see how Kyle fit in. Lucas is a true professional. He couldn't be better.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Richmond commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
