“Jeannette and her family took great care of my very shy and timid dog. It was such a relief knowing that my baby girl was in such caring hands. Would highly recommend Jeanette and her family to take care of your fur babies. Thank you again!”

“I highly recommend Asatur for your pet stay whether it is just day care or for boarding. His love for dogs is obvious in how the dogs respond to him. My Labradoodle, Bailey is a Velcro dog and finding care outside of our home has been a challenge. Bailey has warmed up to Asatur after one day stay and has just completed her first overnight stay. I’m now feeling very secure that she will do quite well when we are gone for extended lengths of time. This has opened the possibility of long stalled travel plans again since my retirement. Thanks Asatur!”

About: Hello! I’m a lifelong dog lover and the proud owner of a 10-year-old Shih Tzu–Pomeranian mix which lived with us since he was 2-month-old. So I am experienced with dogs at all ages. I’ve cared for many smalls to medium size dogs over the years and understand their routines, personalities, and needs. I have a clean, well-kept and very large, fenced yard and offer a calm, clean, and safe home with plenty of attention and gentle play. I enjoy hosting small to medium-sized dogs and treat every pup like part of the family. What is my drive? I host dogs, because I want a companion for my doggy, I enjoy spending time with dogs, and I am home every day of the week. I am available for boarding seven days a week and maintain a flexible schedule. I am home most of the day, allowing me to provide consistent supervision, care, and attention. I can often accommodate bookings on short notice and work with your schedule to ensure a smooth drop-off and pick-up experience. I provide a safe, clean, and calm home environment for all dogs. I have a large, fully fenced yard where dogs can run and play freely, along with a doggy door for easy outdoor access when appropriate. I only have one small, friendly dog at home, and I carefully introduce pets to ensure comfort and compatibility. Your dog will be supervised, cared for attentively, and treated like part of the family.
“Wenxin took wonderful care of Moscow! She kept us updated with plenty of photos and videos, and it was clear that Moscow received lots of attention and outdoor time. If we ever need a sitter again, we wouldn’t hesitate to book with her!”

“Kushram and Family are a wonderful find for dog sitting or doggy day care. Give the initial booking request a bit of lead time, as the confirmation that the day/time works may take up to a day to come through. This time I put in a request 9:30pm on a Saturday, and got confirmation Sunday evening. (I suspect requests are processed daily). The initial booking request was the largest gap we experienced in communication, scheduling the meet and greet by messages was easy - they were very responsive and want to ensure you and your pup will be comfortable with their set up and go over any special needs of the dog. Our elder pup Rick was drawn to Kushram and the whole family even on the meet and greet (I think just his wife and adult nephew), as well the drop off day of, and they were able to make him comfortable enough to eat even on a short visit. Given our short booking (only about 3 hrs) we can't really comment on long term pictures/communication during the visit, but I can say I feel pretty happy that I found some place local where I feel comfortable leaving my dog when I need to go somewhere. They also have some experience with some dog special needs, but can help best when they know about it ahead of time. They were not concerned or put off in the slightest by our pups needs (mostly that he's pretty clingy, can get cold easily, and only has 3 teeth and will only eat small pieces of food, and doesn't love hanging out with other dogs), and described other dogs they had watched with similar or more challenging needs such as dog-sitting a blind dog in a new space. Thank you for taking good care of our pup!”

“Deborah took great care of our dog Noodle. Noodle is a little shy and Deborah was very patient and caring. Her house is well set up and has a great enclosed yard. She sent us some great pictures too!”

“I have an anxious senior pup who hasn't spent much time apart from my partner and I since adopting him a few months ago (in large part due to his anxiety). I did a pre-meeting with Zoe to make sure it would be a good fit for the pup and then we completed the booking. While my pup still let me know later in the day he was mad I left him, when I picked him up he was happy and bouncing around, but also perfectly happy to go back and hang with her. I think this was the most positive experience possible for Rick and am hopeful the positive experience might help him towards being less anxious when we leave him in the future (every positive experience helps I hope!). I would and will definitely book again with her as long as she's available and accepts him again! Also to note, she was very flexible with our pick up time which I appreciated - I had mentioned I might be able to pick the dog up early, and then when I was able to I messaged her that day and picked him up 3 hours early to hopefully make it easier on Rick. That for sure saved me some time instead of needing to pick him up and hitting rush hour on my way home. She was also very helpful and provided feedback to me on Rick's behavior at my request so I have a good handle on how his anxiety and overall behavior is progressing as we try to work through it. Thanks again Zoe (and Partner!)! I really appreciate y'all.”

About: I’ve been caring for animals for over 13 years, including my own special needs dog, Jimmy. We adopted him from the Humane Society, and since then, he’s been part of our family. Asatur was amazing with Basil! He was quick to respond, incredibly helpful, and gave me great advice that really helped me feel more confident. You can tell he genuinely cares about the dogs he works with. I highly recommend Asatur and would absolutely book with him again!

Christiano is great with our dog. He is such a nice guy and you can tell he really cares about animals. We feel comfortable leaving our boy with him and know he's in good hands. Ali has been taking care of my dog for years and has always been nothing short of amazing! We have used her for both doggy daycare and overnight stays when we’ve gone out of town and will continue to use her as often as possible. She’s very easy to communicate with, has helped with dispensing medication, and our dog is always so incredibly excited to see her. To me that says it all. Highly recommend Ali’s services!

Nadine was amazing with Lily. This was my first time using the app, and she made the whole experience very easy and comfortable. She kept me updated during the day, sent me pictures, and reassured me that Lily was doing well. I also forgot to bring Lily’s food, and Nadine kindly provided food for her, which I really appreciated. Most importantly, Lily got plenty of playtime and socialization with other dogs, which was exactly what I was looking for. I would definitely book with her again.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your El Sobrante commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
