“Hope is a wonderful dog sitter. She follow all my instruction to take care my dog. She even sent me photos to see hows she’s doing. She even took her a long walk. She got along with my dog”

“I am so happy I found Yassine! This was my first time taking my 6 month old puppy to someone else's house for the day. She had so much fun! Yassine sent photos and videos throughout her stay. I could see she was happy, playing, and relaxing on the couch. I felt completely at ease knowing she was being supervised by Yassine. Yassine was also flexible with the pick up time which I appreciated. Overall, Frieda enjoyed her stay, I was happy knowing she was happy and I would 100% recommend Yassine to my friends and family. I would definitely book Yassine again and I know Frieda would be excited to go back!”

“Very nice family and good enviroment for my baby otis!!! Sent me updates and communicated with me throughout the day!!! Would definetly take my otia back again. She helped on short notice too!!!”

“Very impressed with Hong! We had a last-minute change of plans and needed a sitter for our girl Spoon, and Hong was absolutely amazing. She cared for Spoon like she was her own, which gave us so much peace of mind. She’s incredibly thorough and keeps us updated throughout the day—even down to every bowel movement—which we really appreciated. We’re so grateful to have found her and will definitely keep booking with her. Highly recommend! 🤍”

“Yukon is an amazing host! We couldn't have asked for anything more. She took great care of our Lady bug. Gave us timely updates with pictures after walks, meals, and poo breaks. Lady also enjoyed hanging out with her fellow schnauzers. I highly recommend their services and plan to be repeat clients!”

About: Hi there! 🐾 I’ve always been a pet owner, and dogs have truly been a huge part of my life. Our beloved Gucci recently crossed the rainbow bridge at 16 years old on August 18, 2026. We were so lucky to have had such a long and beautiful life with him, but we miss him dearly. I’ve never understood why our furry friends get such a short time with us. All I know is that they are here to teach us one of the greatest lessons: unconditional love. ❤️ I’ve had three little dogs throughout my life. My Chihuahua, my first baby, lived to be 18 years old and had the amazing experience of living on both the East and West Coasts. Our Gucci followed, giving us 16 wonderful years of memories. Now we have our youngest, Rocky, a sweet 14-year-old Miniature Pinscher who is very chill and would absolutely love having some furry friends around. Rocky enjoys sleeping in, relaxing on the couch like a cat, and hanging out in his cozy bed. He’s very easygoing and happy to share his space with other friendly dogs. We also have a toddler who has been around dogs since birth and absolutely adores animals. Because of this, our home is a kid-friendly environment, and I’m happy to welcome dogs who are comfortable around children. Your fur baby would receive plenty of love, attention, cuddles, and care while staying with us. My husband is also the sweetest with dogs—no matter their size, somehow he always manages to carry them like a baby and give them lots of snuggles! 🥰 We live in Albany in a lovely area close to grassy spaces for walks, and we also have a dog park nearby. Whether your pup enjoys walks, cuddles on the couch, playtime, or simply relaxing, we’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while they’re with us. I know how difficult it can be to leave your fur baby with someone else, so my goal is to give you peace of mind knowing they are being treated like family. 🐶❤️ I am a stay at home mom and take care of my toddler and our doggy Rocky. We go on walks with our pup, cook, dance, read and enjoy every moment together. We live in a kid friendly apartment with our doggy Rocky. We have plenty of grass area right outside our door for great doggy walks and even a doggy park a couple of blocks away.
“Yagmur did a great job with my husky, Alba! She was friendly, communicative, and shared a lot of updates throughout the day, which I really appreciated, especially since it was Alba's first time with dog boarding.”

“This is our second time booking doggy day care with Danielle and her dog Nala. Danielle does a great job. She keeps our dog safe and well entertained. We appreciate her updates of messages and photos throughout the day. Looking forward to the next time.”

About: I have been caring for dogs and cats since childhood and deeply love connecting with animals. I supported my last dog through her later years and have sensitivity to the needs of elder puppies. I also enjoy the energy of younger dogs and live right near San Pablo park for dogs who like to socialize. I mostly work from home with occasional in person meetings during the week. I am available for pet care throughout the week and can let dogs out to the back yard throughout the day. I live in a quiet but lively neighborhood with lots of great areas to walk and sniff. The back yard is fenced in and allows space to lounge in the sun. There are no other pets or humans currently in the house so it is very peaceful and quiet most of the time. I don't take dogs from more than one household at a time. I check in on the pets I care for regularly and track their emotional as well as physical needs, giving pets and butt scratches often!

“Chen and his family all supported my dog at day care and providing top notch care, updates, and photographs of her stay! Highly recommend to anyone looking for great sitters who LOVE dogs and we will absolutely be coming back to see them!”

“Kelly was wonderful with my pup Mochi, and easy to communicate with. I just got Mochi (a rescue) a couple of weeks ago so I was nervous about leaving him for the day but Kelly was very reassuring and Mochi had a great time!”

“Eve was absolutely amazing. She took so many videos of my puppy Aurora. She’s so sweet and quirky. We hung out for a little while after I picked up my puppy and we just laughed and got to know each other. It was an overall amazing experience from her charisma to the way that she absolutely loves dogs as if they were children.”

“Mariola was an awesome sitter! She was very responsive to our puppy, Pao Pao's, needs and went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable. If you're looking for a responsible and loving sitter, Mariola is the one!”

About: ▍About Me ☺️🩵💛🤍 Hi, I’m Miumie — a gentle, detail-oriented pet caregiver with extensive hands-on experience caring for both cats and dogs. I’ve been involved in cat rescue and fostering for years, and I currently live with my young cat, Bobo. Traveling with him has given me a deep understanding of how animals adapt to unfamiliar environments. I’m highly attentive to each pet’s emotional state, behavioral patterns, and physical condition. My care style is calm, patient, and respectful of every pet’s personality and boundaries. I’m also continuously learning about feline communication, canine behavior, and animal social interaction. ▍🏡 Home & Environment I live in a quiet ~1,200 sq ft townhouse in West Berkeley, offering a calm, smoke-free, alcohol-free, and party-free environment. Each guest has their own clean sleeping area and feeding station, along with plenty of toys and enrichment for both cats and dogs. I usually accept only one pet family at a time (with rare overlap during transition days), allowing me to provide focused attention in a peaceful, low-stress environment. Because I work from home, your pet is rarely left alone and will have companionship throughout the day. For dogs, our daily walks may include quiet neighborhood streets, nearby parks, the waterfront, Creekside Park, and the trails around Albany Hill. Every outing is adjusted to your dog’s age, energy level, and personality. Pickup and drop-off are available throughout West Berkeley, Berkeley, Albany, San Francisco, and nearby areas. If your pet can arrive freshly groomed, I’d truly appreciate it. 💛 ▍Daily Care 🐾 🐶 Dogs • At least 3 outdoor walks or potty outings every day • Plenty of playtime, enrichment, and companionship • Longer walks or small local adventures whenever appropriate 🐱 Cats • At least 1.5 hours of interactive playtime every day • Plenty of toys and enrichment • Affection and interaction based entirely on their comfort level Every pet has a different personality, so I always adjust my care style instead of following a one-size-fits-all routine. ▍Frequent Updates & Daily Care Report 📝🔍 I love keeping pet parents connected throughout the day. You’ll receive photos, videos, and real-time updates whenever your pet is playing, relaxing, exploring, or doing something funny or adorable. Before bedtime, I’ll also send a detailed Daily Care Report including: • Meals & water intake • Walks, playtime & activities • Bathroom / litter box updates • Mood & behavior observations • Any notable moments from the day You’ll never have to wonder how your little one is doing while they’re with me. ▍My Experience 🧘🏻 • Experience caring for cats and dogs of different ages, sizes, and personalities • Years of cat rescue and fostering experience • Assisted with kitten deliveries and around-the-clock newborn kitten care • Successfully rescued, fostered, and rehomed stray cats in Chongqing • Participated in a U.S. rescue case involving cats from an abusive breeding situation I don’t simply watch pets—I genuinely enjoy understanding their personalities and helping them feel safe, relaxed, and loved. ▍Medication & Special Needs 🩺🩹 If your pet requires medication, has dietary restrictions, or has special behavioral needs, please let me know before booking. I’ll happily discuss the best care plan and make adjustments whenever appropriate. ▍After-Stay Keepsakes 💝🎀 Some guests may receive little keepsakes after their stay, such as: • Handmade postcards • Polaroid photos • More personalized surprises coming soon ✨ ▍My Promise ⚜️ My priority is always your pet’s: • Safety • Emotional well-being • Comfort I hope to provide more than just boarding—I want every pet to feel like they’ve found a peaceful second home where they’re genuinely loved, respected, and cared for. 🥺🎀👉🏻 My updated schedule for Fall is that I need to be out for classes on 1️⃣Mondays and 4️⃣Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM. During this time, I won’t accept boarding requests unless the pet is able to stay home alone comfortably. Thanks! I provide a calm, clean, and cat-focused home environment. Also provide out silted travel options if need. I live in a pet-friendly apartment that is fully set up for cats, including multiple litter boxes, feeders, water fountains, and dedicated resting areas. I carefully manage hygiene, feeding routines, and daily observation to ensure each cat’s safety and comfort. Cats are never left unattended for long periods, and I avoid unnecessary environmental stress. I value clear and consistent communication. I provide regular updates, including photos and notes on your cat’s condition, behavior, and mood. If anything unusual arises, I will reach out immediately. Your cat’s physical safety and emotional well-being are always my top priorities.
About: I’ve had pets all my life and I just wanted to find a way to give back to owners . I’m very personable and I’m definitely really good with connecting with dogs. I’m currently taking classes, but my schedule is very flexible and I have plenty of time for pet care throughout the day. I can easily adjust around walks, drop-ins, or overnight stays depending on your pet’s needs. Most of my classes are either online or scheduled in a way that leaves mornings, afternoons, and evenings open. I’m reliable, responsive, and always make sure your pet’s routine comes first. I would spend pretty much all my time with your pet. If I’m watching a movie he’ll be next to me and I care alot about connecting with the animals. I’ll also make to keep your pets health as my number one priority.
About: I am a long time caregiver for human adults with disabilities and animals in the bay area. I am reliable, attentive and adaptive to the needs of animals and people in my care. I am comfortable caring for pets in need of extra hygiene or medical/wound care. I am a foster through Berkeley humane. I provide doggy day care for people in my social network. I have raised a few batches of kittens. I will treat your pet as if they were my own. My counterpart and dog, Milkshake, is a great host and adapts well to the personality and boundaries of visiting pups. He is also great at bringing out visiting dogs' playful sides, and your pup will likely return home having been expelled all of their zoomies. I understand how important our pets are to all of us, one thing I love to do while caring for someones pet is to send them multiple photos/videos per day to show what their fur baby is getting up to. I get anxious when I am away from my dog too long and worry about him so I know how it goes, your pet will be well taken care of with me. I am a work from home data engineer working out of my home in peaceful North Berkeley. My workday schedule is very flexible with ample opportunity for several short walks around the neighborhood throughout the day. I live in a 6 bedroom home in North Berkeley, an established grouphouse with 4 other folks in their late 20s. We have a peaceful, fun and stress free home. I have a fenced front hard with enough room for zoomies and easy access for potty breaks. I have a large sunny back deck for dog sunbathing. I also have a working fireplace for warming up the paws during the cold/rainy season. My housemates are great with animals and provide additional attention, pets and socialization (2 work from home, 2 work out of the home).

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Albany
Christine went above and beyond starting with a meet n greet in the neighborhood, to ensure Zassha felt at ease with her and her adorable dog Shrimp. Nearing and during sitting time, Christine was incredibly communicative the entire time, with updates/pictures to let my wife and I feel reassured our dog Zassha was in good care given it was her first time at their place. We wouldn't hesitate to have Christine sit our dog in the future if they would have her back!!

We’ve been working with Ashley for a few months now and she’s been such a great sitter. She’s so easy to communicate with, and she consistently takes our dog on amazing walks and sends hilarious videos. My anxious pup can’t get daycare started fast enough. She’s so excited to see Ashley and has gotten so comfortable with her so quickly! I highly recommend her!

I felt a little unsure of dropping my dog off to someone I didn't know but started to feel more comfortable the more I spoke with Hye. Then Rudy, my pup, and I met Hye in person and we both were put very much at ease. Hye and Rudy hit it off immediately and I was fine leaving him with her. Hye updated us with photos and really "loved" Rudy and my wife and I were able to relax and enjoy our evening. I would totally recommend Hye and her husband for the care of their family member.

Michelle has been boarding our dog Katsu for years and he always has a great time! Recently we adopted a second dog, and Maki and Katsu both got to spend a few days with Michelle for doggy day care. We always trust Michelle and her family to take good care of our dogs.

Ellah was amazing. She took excellent care of my pup. My sometimes anxious Jack Russel clearly felt completely at home and safe with Ellah. Excellent communication, sent pics and gave updates. Ellah made what would have been a very long day for my dog a safe and fun day for her. I am grateful for caring for my dog like family, it's hard to find someone that genuinely cares and does that. :)

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Albany commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
