“Hope is a wonderful dog sitter. She follow all my instruction to take care my dog. She even sent me photos to see hows she’s doing. She even took her a long walk. She got along with my dog”

“Yagmur did a great job with my husky, Alba! She was friendly, communicative, and shared a lot of updates throughout the day, which I really appreciated, especially since it was Alba's first time with dog boarding.”

“Emily and her daughter were the best! We needed a last minute sitter for our puppy and they took such great care and updated us with photos We are so grateful we met them on Rover and definitely would recommend to any future pups! Don’t hesitate to book Emily if you have a chance to!!!”

“Hong did an amazing job taking care of our dogs, Lucky and Angel! She is incredibly kind, responsible, and truly passionate about animals. We felt completely at ease while we were away, and our dogs were happy, relaxed, and well cared for when we returned. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a loving and trustworthy pet sitter!”

About: I have always enjoyed being around animals and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I worked at a pet care facility for over a year, where I gained hands-on experience caring for puppies, senior dogs, cats, and multiple pets at the same time. I also learned how to give medications, trim nails, bathe pets, and follow different feeding, walking, and care routines. I understand that every pet has their own personality and needs. Some pets may want lots of playtime and attention, while others need extra patience and time to feel comfortable. I offer drop-in visits, overnight stays, and long-term care when needed. I will treat your pets with the same kindness and attention I would give my own, while keeping you updated so you can feel comfortable while you are away. I am currently working part time and have availability at all times of the week. My week to week is adaptive based off of pets that I care for that week, my work schedule is very flexible and can move around when needed! At my home, pets have access to a fully fenced yard where they can safely enjoy supervised outdoor time. I also have a large SUV, so I can comfortably transport pets of different sizes for walks, park visits, or other approved activities. I live in a safe, centrally located neighborhood that is great for everyday walks. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I am respectful of both the home and the pet’s normal routine. I understand that every animal has different feeding schedules, exercise needs, comfort levels, and household rules, so I pay close attention to all instructions. My goal is to help your pet feel as safe, relaxed, and comfortable as possible while you are away. I am also happy to send as many photo and video updates as you would like, so you can feel confident knowing your pet is being well cared for.
“Peanut had a great time with Eve and her family! She was great with the introduction and showing him around so he could get comfortable. She was also really conscientious about his safety (he's a dachshund so we have to be careful not to strain his back). She took him for a good long walk and sent me a couple of videos so I could see how happy he was. When I came to pick him up he was giving everyone in the family kisses so I know he had a great time!”

“Wenxin took wonderful care of Moscow! She kept us updated with plenty of photos and videos, and it was clear that Moscow received lots of attention and outdoor time. If we ever need a sitter again, we wouldn’t hesitate to book with her!”

About: Berkeley Humane Society and Oakland Animal Services volunteer, trained with dogs of all temperaments. I also dog sit for family and friends, and love building trust and keeping routines consistent. I focus on quality walks, not quick outings. When appropriate, I take dogs to East Bay spots like Point Isabel, Albany Bulb and Berkeley Marina for space and stimulation. For drop-ins, your dog will get lots of attention, movement and care. I walk my dogs daily, often on longer outings. I adjust pace and distance based on your dog’s needs. Dog care is my priority right now. I’m available mornings, afternoons, and evenings. I have flexibility and I can accommodate longer walks or extended visits I prioritize safety at all times. Dogs will always be on-leash and handled either full attention and control. I stick to your instructions and keep routines consistent
“This was Kiki’s first experience with a dog sitter and naturally I was a little nervous. I was relieved to hear from Lucas that everything went very well and I can tell Kiki did a lot of playing with the other dogs because she took a long nap as soon as I brought her home. ?❤️”

About: I've taken care of many dogs from chihuahua's, poodle mixes, corgi's and pointers. I have the most experience with small dogs but would love to take care of your large pups too! I have experience caring for and feeding medication to senior dogs from Muttville in San Francisco and lived and cared for a very anxious corgi for two years so have a lot of experience navigating and understanding when a dog needs space. I cannot wait to meet your pup! I'm starting grad school in late august so have plenty of time to play with your pups! I'm available weekdays and weekends for now and will update my schedule once school is back in session. I have a small fenced in yard if the pup needs a quiet enclosed area to play in. I have experience crating anxious corgis and giving medication and am willing to follow any rules you have to ensure good training and safety for your dog. Ultimately, I just want you and your pet to be comfortable!

“Chen Z. was amazing with my dog. He’s very easy to communicate with, very accommodating to different schedules, takes lots of beautiful pictures and videos, and sends frequent updates. Most importantly my dog was always so excited to see him. Would 100% recommend and book again.”

About: ▍About Me ☺️🩵💛🤍 Hi, I’m Miumie — a gentle, detail-oriented pet caregiver with extensive hands-on experience caring for both cats and dogs. I’ve been involved in cat rescue and fostering for years, and I currently live with my young cat, Bobo. Traveling with him has given me a deep understanding of how animals adapt to unfamiliar environments. I’m highly attentive to each pet’s emotional state, behavioral patterns, and physical condition. My care style is calm, patient, and respectful of every pet’s personality and boundaries. I’m also continuously learning about feline communication, canine behavior, and animal social interaction. ▍🏡 Home & Environment I live in a quiet ~1,200 sq ft townhouse in West Berkeley, offering a calm, smoke-free, alcohol-free, and party-free environment. Each guest has their own clean sleeping area and feeding station, along with plenty of toys and enrichment for both cats and dogs. I usually accept only one pet family at a time (with rare overlap during transition days), allowing me to provide focused attention in a peaceful, low-stress environment. Because I work from home, your pet is rarely left alone and will have companionship throughout the day. For dogs, our daily walks may include quiet neighborhood streets, nearby parks, the waterfront, Creekside Park, and the trails around Albany Hill. Every outing is adjusted to your dog’s age, energy level, and personality. Pickup and drop-off are available throughout West Berkeley, Berkeley, Albany, San Francisco, and nearby areas. If your pet can arrive freshly groomed, I’d truly appreciate it. 💛 ▍Daily Care 🐾 🐶 Dogs • At least 3 outdoor walks or potty outings every day • Plenty of playtime, enrichment, and companionship • Longer walks or small local adventures whenever appropriate 🐱 Cats • At least 1.5 hours of interactive playtime every day • Plenty of toys and enrichment • Affection and interaction based entirely on their comfort level Every pet has a different personality, so I always adjust my care style instead of following a one-size-fits-all routine. ▍Frequent Updates & Daily Care Report 📝🔍 I love keeping pet parents connected throughout the day. You’ll receive photos, videos, and real-time updates whenever your pet is playing, relaxing, exploring, or doing something funny or adorable. Before bedtime, I’ll also send a detailed Daily Care Report including: • Meals & water intake • Walks, playtime & activities • Bathroom / litter box updates • Mood & behavior observations • Any notable moments from the day You’ll never have to wonder how your little one is doing while they’re with me. ▍My Experience 🧘🏻 • Experience caring for cats and dogs of different ages, sizes, and personalities • Years of cat rescue and fostering experience • Assisted with kitten deliveries and around-the-clock newborn kitten care • Successfully rescued, fostered, and rehomed stray cats in Chongqing • Participated in a U.S. rescue case involving cats from an abusive breeding situation I don’t simply watch pets—I genuinely enjoy understanding their personalities and helping them feel safe, relaxed, and loved. ▍Medication & Special Needs 🩺🩹 If your pet requires medication, has dietary restrictions, or has special behavioral needs, please let me know before booking. I’ll happily discuss the best care plan and make adjustments whenever appropriate. ▍After-Stay Keepsakes 💝🎀 Some guests may receive little keepsakes after their stay, such as: • Handmade postcards • Polaroid photos • More personalized surprises coming soon ✨ ▍My Promise ⚜️ My priority is always your pet’s: • Safety • Emotional well-being • Comfort I hope to provide more than just boarding—I want every pet to feel like they’ve found a peaceful second home where they’re genuinely loved, respected, and cared for. I am available almost all day until June and can provide frequent updates on your cat’s daily condition and well-being. More details about my experience and home setup can be found in the details section. At the moment, I prefer boarding stays of three days or longer, as this allows cats to settle in comfortably and reduces stress. If your cat requires any medication or special care, please let me know in advance. I kindly ask for some basic information about your cat, including personality, preferences, daily routines, and companionship needs. If you have a busy schedule, at minimum please share any medication requirements (if applicable) and important care notes, so I can ensure consistent and safe care. I provide a calm, clean, and cat-focused home environment. Also provide out silted travel options if need. I live in a pet-friendly apartment that is fully set up for cats, including multiple litter boxes, feeders, water fountains, and dedicated resting areas. I carefully manage hygiene, feeding routines, and daily observation to ensure each cat’s safety and comfort. Cats are never left unattended for long periods, and I avoid unnecessary environmental stress. I value clear and consistent communication. I provide regular updates, including photos and notes on your cat’s condition, behavior, and mood. If anything unusual arises, I will reach out immediately. Your cat’s physical safety and emotional well-being are always my top priorities.
“Kelly was wonderful with my pup Mochi, and easy to communicate with. I just got Mochi (a rescue) a couple of weeks ago so I was nervous about leaving him for the day but Kelly was very reassuring and Mochi had a great time!”

“Mariola was great! She's very sweet and loves dogs. She even sent me a photo of Jojo having fun with his new friends. This was my dog's first time in day care and I felt totally secure. I highly recommend her!”

“Yassine (and his wife!) we’re absolutely amazing. They were so welcoming and really made us feel comfortable dropping our 6 month old puppy off for the day. He was so excited to be able to hang out in the backyard all day. And they were really accommodating given the special needs that our pup has. AND due to some unforeseen circumstances, we ended up being 2+ hours late to pick up our dog and they were really understanding about it, which made us feel a touch better about the huge mess we found ourselves in! Highly recommend!!!”

“I felt a little unsure of dropping my dog off to someone I didn't know but started to feel more comfortable the more I spoke with Hye. Then Rudy, my pup, and I met Hye in person and we both were put very much at ease. Hye and Rudy hit it off immediately and I was fine leaving him with her. Hye updated us with photos and really "loved" Rudy and my wife and I were able to relax and enjoy our evening. I would totally recommend Hye and her husband for the care of their family member.”

Jessica was there for me when I needed daycare in a pinch! She was reliable and, based on the pictures she sent and Chase’s joyful dash towards her when I dropped him off on his second day, an excellent attentive dog-sitter. I’ll happily use her services in the future.

Hong was AMAZING with my dog! I could not have asked for a better daycare experience. Hong sent updates all day long, so I always knew exactly what my dog was up to — plus she took amazing photos! She followed my dog’s schedule closely and made sure she was playing and active throughout the day. My dog can be nervous around men, but Hong’s husband was so patient and loving with her — he took the time to get to know her, and by the end of the day she was curled up cuddling with him. Honestly, I think my dog would rather live with them at this point! They communicated through a translator app and were incredibly responsive and easy to coordinate with. Can’t recommend Hong enough. We’ll absolutely be booking again.

Michelle has been boarding our dog Katsu for years and he always has a great time! Recently we adopted a second dog, and Maki and Katsu both got to spend a few days with Michelle for doggy day care. We always trust Michelle and her family to take good care of our dogs.

Ellah was amazing. She took excellent care of my pup. My sometimes anxious Jack Russel clearly felt completely at home and safe with Ellah. Excellent communication, sent pics and gave updates. Ellah made what would have been a very long day for my dog a safe and fun day for her. I am grateful for caring for my dog like family, it's hard to find someone that genuinely cares and does that. :)

My former Rover professional recently retired and I had to find a replacement. I was so, so glad I found this pair to watch my treasured Kyle. I have been interacting with Lucas. He is always prompt in meeting me when I drop off Kyle and when I pick him up. During our Meet and Greet Lucas showed me his home and doggie-perfect back yard. I was impressed. He also spent some time with me introducing me to the six other dogs that were there. The meeting was informative and a good chance for the two of us to see how Kyle fit in. Lucas is a true professional. He couldn't be better.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
