“Maya is a wonderful dog sitter & human! She took such good care of my senior dog, especially after I told her about some recent health issues he’s experiencing. She kept a close eye on him, keeping him super safe & keeping me updated throughout the day. Thank you so much Maya, for loving my baby and keeping him safe!”

“Lisa and Cameron were absolutely wonderful with Poe! We needed someone to watch him for a few hours over three consecutive days while we had construction happening at our house and my husband and I had unusual work schedules, and they were incredibly flexible and accommodating throughout the whole thing. Poe clearly had the best time staying with them: playing in their backyard, going on walks, and spending time with their family and kids. We have a baby on the way, so it was especially nice knowing he was getting some positive time around younger kids, and Lisa and Cameron said he did great with them. They also sent us adorable photos and videos every day, which we loved. Poe came home happy, tired, and ready for a very good sleep after getting so much attention and exercise! This was our first time having Lisa and Cameron watch Poe, but we would absolutely book with them again. They are such warm, friendly people and clearly great with dogs. We felt completely comfortable leaving Poe with them and highly recommend them!”

“Latricia was very sweet with our dog! It's clear that she has a lot of experience with dogs. She sent multiple photos and updates during the day. She also gave us helpful information about his behavior afterwards.”

“Jeff and Beth were great! They helped us out by scheduling a meet and greet on short notice and subsequently took excellent care of our new pup. They communicated clearly and frequently; shared a ton of photos; and provided our pup with plenty of time outside and on the trails. We will certainly have Jeff and Beth take care of our dog again and highly recommend them.”

“Finn had a great time with Vanessa. She’s very kind and easy to communicate with, and Finn appreciates her great yard. Finn had a great time with Vanessa’s dog Robin. We will definitely book again!”

About: Hi, we’re Olive and Charlie! We’re both a little obsessed with dogs, honestly — the kind of people who cross the street to say hi to someone’s dog. We each grew up caring for family dogs into their senior years, which taught us a lot about patience and paying close attention — noticing when a dog needs an easy day, or extra reassurance, or just to be left alone with their favorite spot on the couch. Those years shaped how we care for dogs now. These days we’re the go-to sitters for our friends’ dogs, and we’re in the thick of raising our own pup, Pigeon, who just turned one. Living with a curious, occasionally chaotic one-year-old has kept us sharp on positive training methods and reminded us daily that every dog has their own personality and pace — some want to run around and play, some want quiet company, some just want to know someone’s nearby. Whatever your dog needs, we’ll pay attention and meet them there. We’d love to take care of your pup! — Olive & Charlie (they/them) Pet care fits naturally into our daily routine because we’re both home most of the day. Your dog gets real attention and companionship, not just a quick check-in between long stretches alone. Our home is a calm, pet-friendly space — we keep it tidy, hazard-free, and easy for a visiting dog to settle into. Since we’re both home most of the day, your dog is never left unsupervised for long. We know that being in a new environment can be stressful, so we always give new dogs time to adjust at their own pace. We’ll get them settled into a cozy, smaller space with their comfort items or crate first, letting them decompress before exploring more of the home. We pay close attention to body language and stress signals and never rush a dog to warm up before they’re ready. For drop-in visits, we treat your home with the same care we’d want for our own. We follow your routines, stick to your dog’s schedule, and send photo updates so you always know how things are going and can see your pup happy and comfortable. Additionally we have a porch patio with a grass patch for pottying!
“If you're anything like me, the guilt of being away at work all day weighs on me, but knowing that instead, my fur-baby is now getting tons of attention, pets, walks, and love puts my mind at ease. Getting cuddles from Van Joseph and Matthew, the company of their sweet little dogs, and soft blankets to sleep in is priceless! I got so many precious photos which brightened my day! Overjoyed to have found Van Joseph and Matthew to care for my sweet girl Petunia!!”

“Tamara is the best dog sitter that my puppy has ever had! She’s super responsive, genuine, and makes you feel very comfortable when watching your fur baby. When my puppy stayed the night, Tamara sent lots of pictures and videos to let me know how he was doing every step of the way. And when day sitting, Tamara took my puppy on a long hike to get him exercise. He also got along very well with her super friendly dog, Finn! Thanks so much Tamara for keeping my puppy Kali in good care. I really appreciate you!”

“Shannon was a great communicator from the start and helped me out super last-minute when I was in a pinch with needing care for my pup. She was great with Lucy, shared photos and let me know all they had been up to. Lucy was happy when I picked her up and slept really great that night. Shannon was professional, super attentive, and her schedule flexibility is so appreciated!! I’m glad I found her and Rocky and look forward to Lucy getting to spend more time with them!”

About: I've always loved dogs and enjoy spending time with them, whether that's going for walks, playing, or just keeping them company. I know every dog has a different personality and routine, so I take the time to make sure they're comfortable and cared for the way they're used to. I work from home three times a week which gives me more time to care for pups. This is something that allows me more flexibility with care needs. I do not have any other pets in the home which allows your pet to have all my attention, therefore meeting whatever need they may have.
“Mary is super attentive and caring. She gave detailed updates about how she was doing and sent lots of photos in which Shanti looks happy and relaxed, enjoying the company of her fur baby, Murphy. When I arrived at her place to pick her up. she was already standing in front of her apartment building so that I didn't have to wait for her to come out. So Sweet! I'd definitely ask her to look after my dog again in a heartbeat!”

“Madeleine was immensely helpful in accepting our last minute early morning booking for our timid dog. She was warm and welcoming and took the time to learn our dogs needs. Looking forward to rebooking in the future - thank you!!”

About: I had a dog for 15 years and while we are holding out on getting a new one for a few years till we stop traveling so much, we would love to hang with yours periodically when in town! We have a fenced in yard to throw a ball in (and a six and nine year old who never tire in doing so) and love taking walks to all the local Piedmont parks with a pup. My husband is mildly allergic, so unfortunately only able to take in non shedding, hypoallergenic poodle type mixes. And of course dogs need to be kid friendly, but my kiddoes are very sweet and gentle with dogs and will give the dogs lots of pets and affection in return. My husband and I both predominately work from home so there's always someone around to love on a furry friend or take a break to get outside for a walk. I predominately work from home and I love frequent walks with a pup. We live close to many Piedmont parks which is a great place to go and visit other dogs or just explore some new grounds. I have a fenced yard and loving older gentle children who adore pets. I can crate your dog if desired to sleep, but also have kids that would be very happy to snuggle if preferred. You can trust that we will care for your pups as if they are our very own family dog for the duration of their stay.
“We could not have asked for a better first Rover experience! Alisson was attentive to our dog's needs and made him feel welcome in her home - enough to fall asleep on her lap! She was very communicative and flexible and would definitely recommend for your doggy daycare needs”

About: I take pride in creating a calm, safe, and welcoming environment for both pets and the homes I care for. My approach is attentive and thoughtful—I pay close attention to routines, preferences, and small details that help animals feel secure and comfortable. Whether it’s feeding, walks, playtime, administering medications, or simply providing companionship, I treat every pet with patience, empathy, and genuine care. Experience-wise I have been a cat owner since I was a small child, have experience fostering litters of kittens, and currently have 2 adult Balinese of my I care for since they were 4 months old. I have experience caring for geckos (feeding live crickets!), hamsters, and bird care. I am also mom to doodle half-siblings, caring for them since they were puppies. I’m respectful of the homes I’m trusted with. I practice the "leave things better than you found them" mantra by keeping spaces clean and organized, following instructions accurately, and communicating regularly as scheduled so owners feel confident and worry-free while they’re away. Reliability and consistency are important to me. I understand how much trust it takes to leave your home and pets in someone else’s hands. Above all, I truly enjoy building connections—with both pets and their people—and making sure everything runs smoothly so you can have peace of mind. Contact me to discuss your care needs! I'm currently working part-time which leaves me flexible to schedule care for your pets and home. I am also available to handle small projects or home tasks, run errands, and organize spaces as needed. Please ask me and we will discuss your needs. I am happy to schedule regular dog walks, play dates or overnight care in your home for your dogs. I am also available to schedule cat check-ins/playtime. My goal is for you to return to a home and/or pet better/happier than you left it.
“We had a great first daycare with Nikolai! He is very responsive and easy to coordinate with. It was nice to know Jax was having a fun day with other dogs and nice people. Excited to go back again!!”

Bobby was great! He and his dog River did the best job keeping Daisy company all day while my partner and I attended a wedding. He was all the things you want your sitter to be: friendly, flexible, responsive, and most importantly he treats your dog like family. I was provided updates and photos throughout the day, which made me feel so comfortable knowing Daisy was in such good hands. 10/10, highly recommend booking with Bobby.

Tommy is a great dog sitter, I've rebooked with him many times. He's easy to work with, very responsive, and takes great care of my dog. Bruce always comes home tuckered out from a fun day with Uncle Tommy. 10/10 highly recommended trusting him for all your pet care needs, he's the best.

Shannon was a great communicator from the start and helped me out super last-minute when I was in a pinch with needing care for my pup. She was great with Lucy, shared photos and let me know all they had been up to. Lucy was happy when I picked her up and slept really great that night. Sydney is an absolute sweetheart, and she's incredibly warm and friendly to both humans and dogs. We had our dog Sadie spend the day at Sydney's adorable doggie cottage, and we let her know that Sadie is still somewhat new to us, and somewhat apprehensive around new people. I could tell Sydney made every effort to make sure Sadie felt safe and comfortable. When we picked her up, Sydney was so excited to tell us that Sadie had actually rolled over for belly rubs, which is a definite win! It's so great to know that Sadie has a safe and comfy space at Sydney's, and we certainly hope to use her again soon!

Christina is wonderful. She researched and knew that Heelers need a lot of walking and walked her until she was tired, which is not easy to do! She was so good with her. And I think my girl Daisy was very comfortable with her and made fell in love with Christina a little bit:)

Alisson took Lizzie for the for first time this evening on very short notice. Alisson is a very lovely, kind woman. I didn't go inside the house, and Lizzie was only there for a few hours, but Lizzie felt right at home and cuddled on Alisson's lap. Communication was super easy, and I pulled right up in front of the house, and Alisson came out to get her and brought her out when I came to pick her up. Super easy and smooth. I will definitely ask her again to take care of Lizzie.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
