âThere arenât enough words to express just how attentive and amazing Quishu is: Positive, dynamic personality with an ability to get zen when needed. Sheâs the kind of personality our beagles need. She followed all our doggie care and home instructions, it was such peace of mind. She sent frequent photos and videos which showed us that our adopted and often timid beagles trusted her, felt safe with her and were actually being their true goof ball selves. Most sitters think theyâll try to âfixâ their issues which never works and creates a tense dynamic, but Qishu didnât appear to judge us for all our instructions and expectations. She respected our requested level of care and the beagles and her bonded. Thank you Qishu!!â

âLauraâs first time dog sitting for us went smoothly. This was an overnight trip. She sent us photo updates and was responsive when we texted to check in. When we got home, the house was tidy, their water bowls were filled, and Cannoli and Da Vinci were in good spirits. Weâve booked Laura for an extended stay while weâre on an international trip. Thanks, Laura!â

âCara did such a wonderful job taking care of my 4 cats and dog while I was away. She was communicative, thoughtful, and sent lots of updates and photos that made me feel so much more relaxed. My dog Maverick is usually very nervous around strangers, but he really warmed up to her by the end, which says a lot. I came home to very happy, well cared for pets and Iâd absolutely trust her with them again.â

âNicole took great care of our dog and we came home to a happy pup. She kept in touch with updates and pictures and was very accommodating. Would absolutely recommend her.â

About: While I'm new to Rover, I have over 10 years experience taking care of my friends and family's cats, dogs, insects, and plants. I'm excited to start this business on Rover and extend that pet/plant care to the people in my East Bay community! I'm a landscape horticulture student in Oakland, so when I'm not in class, working in my garden, or spending time with my own kitties, I love taking care of my friends, neighbors, and families' pets. They bring so much silliness and happiness into my routine! When walking your dogs or taking care of your pets in your home, respect, safety, and trust are my top priorities. The pet parents I work with know their pets best, and I take their guidance and wishes very seriously. When I'm housesitting, I treat clients' homes with even more respect than I treat my own.

âTrustworthy sitter that was super flexible with our schedule and attentive to our pupâs needs! House was spotless and dog was happy upon our arrival home. Will definitely plan to invite again!â

âShivani is absolute magic. My husband and I are always hesitant and nervous when we leave our Great Dane alone because he gets a little depressed and usually wonât eat because of separation anxiety or that the care taker will spoil him like we do. When we left for the night he had already snuggled up to her and had his two full meals like we didnât matter lol. We were so happy that we found someone that our dog was so comfortable with. Shivani has a very calming energy that relaxed our dog and treated him like we would, which made us grateful. Donât hesitate at all in booking her. Sheâs pure magic.â

âBarbara has taken excellent care of both of anxious/reactive big dog, and our home while we have been out of town. She is reliable and so helpful, I never have concerns leaving Rocky in her care. I recommend her to anyone looking for care for their pups!â

âAngela was great. Above and beyond, especially in responding to a few schedule curve balls. Great communication and only about important questions about Frida. Highly recommend!â

âMatt is always great with our dog, Elliott. He was very responsible with Elliott's medication schedule and attentive to his emotional needs. I'll be re-booking Matt for our next trip as well. Thank you, Matt!â

About: I'll give your pets the attention and care they need, through tug-of-war, cuddles or even just my presence at home. I'm also happy to take your dog on adventures if you're comfortable with it :) I'm currently looking for work, so I can be present as much as your pets need me to be. I only need to leave the house to go to the gym or sports practice. As an animal lover, I'll pay close attention to how your animal is feeling, and make sure they get the attention and care they need. I'll also take care of your home and leave it clean and well taken care of per your instructions.
âDennis came highly regarded- and now we know why! He followed our instructions perfectly, was super communicative, insightful, and kind. Our pets were happy and content for the full 7 day house-sitting stay and we are so grateful. I think our dog is going to miss him! đ Thank you, Dennis!!â

âNati helped us out with a last minute request and she was so attentive, nurturing and caring for our dogs. She gave us daily updates and took exceptional care of them and our home. It made our family vacation care free. Highly recommended her!â

âTami was the absolute best! She sent me lots of pictures and updates on Maggie while I was on vacation and made sure she got plenty of walks and pets and cuddles! I could not recommend Tami enough.â

âI canât say enough about how great Kasey was watching over my 2 rambunctious kittens, but also my apartment. The place was super clean when I returned, maybe even more clean than how I left it. She was extremely responsive and gave me bi-daily updates with photos and videos of how they were doing. She played with them, cuddled with them, and genuinely enjoyed their company. And my kittens absolutely loved her. I felt so at ease being out of town. 10/10 I would hire her again to watch my cats and apartment. Thank you Kasey!â

âRich is absolutely outstanding. This was the second time he stayed with Remi while we were away for nine days, and I didnât worry once. Remi is a young, sensitive dog with anxiety and a very specific routine, and Rich handled everything with incredible patience, skill, and genuine care. He did Remiâs mat training, gave all of his medications, took him on walks, managed his anxious moments with calm confidence, and followed all of the routines weâve worked so hard to establish. It was clear that he cared about helping Remi feel safe and successful, not just getting through the day. Rich also sent thoughtful updates and photos throughout our trip, gave us a detailed report when we returned, and left our house spotless. Finding someone you trust with a dog like Remi is priceless, and Rich has earned that trust completely. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone, especially if you have a dog with anxiety or behavioral needs. We feel incredibly lucky to have found him.â

âWe love working with Anais! Her care of our senior Schipperke, Maz, has been expert and attentive. Being 17 years old, Maz has a lot of needs and Anais has cared for him both during the day and overnight, and we've been so grateful for her attentiveness to him around his routine, his meds, and for making sure he feels taken care of and loved. We're so glad we connected with Anais and will definitely be contacting her in the future!â

âIda and Travis did an amazing job, would 100% recommend them! I have a cat that can be fairly mischievous but they were fully prepared and my kitty was in great hands. They followed all the instructions, and updated me frequently which was so nice. Came home to a clean house and a happy kitty! Thanks so much!!â

Sara was a wonderful cat sitter! This was the longest Iâd ever been away from my cat Hopper but she put my mind at ease - Sara was a great communicator, sent cute photo and video updates, and kept on top of Hopperâs health. She also took great care of my apartment. Hopper definitely has a new bestie. Iâd highly recommend booking with Sara!

Elisa was wonderful with our Chow Chow, Poppy. Chows can be a little reserved with new people, but Elisa was incredibly patient, calm, and understanding, which helped Poppy feel comfortable. She kept us updated with messages and photos throughout the stay, and it was clear Poppy was well cared for and happy. She also took great care of our home and was thoughtful, reliable, and easy to communicate with from start to finish. We came home to a relaxed dog and everything exactly as we left it, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. We would absolutely book Elisa again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate sitter!! Thank you Elisa!

Feel so lucky to have found Rich! He took wonderful care of my dog, Tova. He sent daily photos and I knew she was in good hands while I was away. I came back home to a clean house and a thorough report on Tovaâs behavior. Rich clearly loves animals and has a keen sense of their needs.

Tenzin stayed at my place and took care of my rescue dog for the weekend. She left my home even cleaner than she found it and truly went above and beyond with housekeeping. She did everything I asked in caring for my dog, but it's difficult to speak to how the stay actually went because there was little communication during or after the stay about how my dog was doing, how they bonded, and if there were any challenges or notable moments. That said, she was responsive when I reached out during the stay and got the sense that things went smoothly.

Adela has watched out two cats a few times now and sheâs always so wonderful! She answers messages quickly, sends lots of pictures and follows all their care instructions so well â¤ď¸â¨she also house sits for us and sleeps overnight at the house to make sure its secure and our boys are safe! We highly reccommend her! â¨

Bryanna was A-MAZ-ZING. she sent me multiple updates a day along with photos and videos. My kitty can get sad and low energy when I travel, so it was so nice to see her engage burger with playtime and toys! My house was super clean after she left so will 100% be hiring Bryanna again!

Emilia and Ion are a super team! They do a great job for our weekly walks and an even better job as house & pet sitters! They visiting our two dogs 4x daily and generously kept them company inbetween visits too! They even watered our garden! I couldnât ask for a single thing more in a sitter and will definitely be using them again

Rob was the BEST sitter. He went above and beyond in every respect -- from meeting the girls twice before his sit to make sure they were comfortable with him, to sending us pics and updates throughout his stay, to making sure our home was perfect upon our arrival, he exceeded our expectations. Our girls loved him, and they were happy, well exercised, and healthy when we got home. Definitely would recommend Rob as a doggy sitter for everyone!

We were so happy with Jo! For the meet and greet, Jo was incredibly patient and warm and proactive, even with our Enzoâs silly behavior. Fortunately, with Joâs care, Enzo warmed up very quickly and returned the love. We were very glad to witness Enzoâs good behavior, quirkiness and relaxed mood - as seen from Joâs frequent photo updates and communication. On top of being good caregiver, she went above and beyond to also care for our home. We hope our pup will get to reunite with Jo, his new best friend, again someday.

Ella took wonderful care of our dogs, Ollie and Rocco, for two weeks while we were away. We came home to a spotless house and two very happy, well-cared-for dogs. You could just tell theyâd been getting so much love and attention the whole time we were gone. She sent updates and photos the whole time, which was such a relief. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, reliable sitter.
Tim is amazing! Would rebook him anytime. Super detailed about care and directions, great updates and just overall made me feel at ease about leaving Louie, who has some senior special needs, in his care. Itâs hard to find people that are as kind and thoughtful about your pet and home, but Tim is that person. Thank you so much.

FAQs for House Sitting - Piedmont
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Piedmont on Rover is $68.56 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 8,654 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Piedmont. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitterâs presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Piedmont walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your homeâs security or appliances.
Itâs helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Piedmont maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate theyâll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your petâs profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Piedmont choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Piedmont. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
