Angie was great. She was very responsive and kept us updated throughout the entire time she took care of both our pups. The pups were healthy and happy and our home was kept clean. We would have her house sit for us again.

About: I have had and cared for pets since childhood, rescuing (literally from the streets) a lovely pitbull named Olive when I lived in Philadelphia. Moved to CA in May 2026 from East Coast. I recently moved to CA to support my wife’s new job in SF. I have a fully open schedule at the moment and with a love of animals I thought that this would be a better way to learn and love my new community than digging through online job ads. I am willing to sit, play, walk, feed and care for your pets as needed. I’m an active (formerly collegiate) runner and can go as fast or slowly as your pet needs. I have reliable transportation and experience in pet first aid as I recently completed my tenure as an Emergency Manager with the American Red Cross.

Christine took perfect care of all 5 of our furbabies! We had her stay at our home with them and not only did she take great care, but respected our home and even cleaned up around the place for us. She provided great updates as well. Five animals is no small feat so I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter.

About: I’d love to care for and walk your pets. Dog park romps, petting sessions, and snuggling provided. I care for them in my home or drop into your home as needed. Experience with large animals, geriatric and young animals. If you are traveling and need a reliable, fun, experienced sitter for your pets, I’d be happy to do a meet and greet and meet you and your pets. I have a 6year old neutered male Australian Sheppard and a 2 year old indoor/outdoor cat. Both are amenable to sharing their space with new furry friends. I'm an active retiree so I have plenty of time for your furry family members. My dog loves to play with new furry friends or chill and give them space. I have a fenced yard and dog door for in and out privileges. I accept dogs that are crated at night or free roaming. Home is well suited to pets.

About: Hello, my name is Emily and I would love to help you with your animal care needs. I have been around animals throughout my life and have always really enjoyed each unique personality. For my own pets, I have experience with (some would say) difficult animals but have always persevered. Whether it be my crazy cocker spaniel, high energy cattledogs, or hissy maine coon, I am up for any challenge. Every size, shape, color, personality... they are all so cute and have the sweetest hearts. I am responsible and dependable, and you can count on me to treat your pets with the same gentle care you would provide. I currently have a pretty flexible schedule and am therefore available most days and times for walks and drop-in visits. My booking availability reflects my current schedule. I care for all pets with kindness and patience. I know that animals may have anxiety with other people and I take that into account when caring for your loved pet.

Alisa took excellent care of our doggies. She communicated well with me while I was traveling with texts and pictures, and the house was in great shape when I returned. She realized that our younger terrier needed more exercise than our old Golden and added a solo walk for him to the schedule. Her connection with both dogs impressed a friend that came by to check on the cats. I am very pleased with Alisa as a pet/house sitter. I'm looking forward to having her again.

About: I have house sit, along with taken care of cats and dogs at the same time! I enjoy walking dogs especially since it makes dogs super happy! I just moved to Moraga, since I am playing for the Saint Mary’s Volleyball team. We have trainings Monday-Friday, so my hours will vary but we do have a lot of off time. So just communicating what’s best for your schedule!! I have a gated off backyard, we do however have a pool. But the pet will always be watched over with care! So no worries there.

About: I have had three pets before: one cat and two dogs. I took great care of them. One of my poodle dogs lived to be 17 years old. Pet care is an essential part of my daily routine. Every day, I make sure to feed my pets, take them for walks, and provide them with playtime and attention to keep them active and happy. I also spend time grooming them and ensuring they have a clean and comfortable living space. On a weekly basis, I focus on tasks like deep cleaning their areas, scheduling vet visits if needed, and monitoring their overall health and behavior. Pet care is woven into my routine, ensuring they receive the love and care they deserve. In both my home and my client's home, I prioritize safety, trust, and creating a comfortable environment for pets. First, I ensure the area is pet-proofed, removing any potential hazards. I provide a safe, quiet space for pets to rest, with all their necessities like food, water, and bedding easily accessible. I maintain a regular routine for feeding, playtime, and exercise, which helps pets feel secure and comfortable. Trust is key, so I build a strong relationship with the pets by being consistent, patient, and attentive to their individual needs. I also ensure their environment is clean, calm, and enriching, with plenty of toys and mental stimulation to keep them engaged.

Jessica is a true animal lover who puts so much care and attention into her work, treating your pets as if they were her own. She took care of my dog and two cats for almost a week while I was out of town and I got frequent updates and came home to very happy animals! It’s also clear in talking with her that she has a wide range of animal experience, not just dogs and cats. Highly recommend and grateful to have found someone who I know will take excellent care of my pets.

About: I’ve taken care of all types of dogs over my years as a pet sitter. Some puppies, some elderly dogs. I have experience in emergency situations, if the need arises. This is my first time trying Rover out -I’ve usually only advertised through word of mouth. Excited to get to know you & your pet. Pet care will be my main priority. Schedule can be fit around your pet. If emergency situations arise - I have experience in that. I need to exercise so taking dogs out for walks will be welcomed. I will follow the instructions laid out for me by the employer. You let me know if your pet is allowed or not allowed on furniture and I will act accordingly.

About: I found my kitten when he was two days old next to a tire in a parking lot - brought him home and had to bottle feed him every 2 hours. He’s now thriving over 4 months old! I also used to have a senior dog a couple of years ago (he passed at 17) who was in diapers, blind, and couldn’t really hear. I have experience with big dogs too (such as german shepherds). I’m a student and I’m currently taking online classes, so I have a good amount of free time, and would be more than happy to take care of your pets :) I don’t offer services in my own home, however, when pet sitting in yours, they will be watched closely and with much care! Your pet is the #1 priority.

We are so happy to have found David & Mabel. They stayed in our house and took care of our dog while we were away for 10 days. The house was spotless when we return and our dog seemed to have a very good time with them! They are caring, trustworthy, friendly, and communicative. We are definitely planning to work with them again in the future!

Davina and her family were excellent caregivers for Cloud and Princess. Davina was great communicating with us while we were gone. Our home looks just as it did when we left, except better because she brought in packages that had been delivered by Amazon and placed the mail on the kitchen table. We could tell that our dogs had been fed, walked, and loved in our absence, because they were happy to see us when we came home, but not needy. We hope they can do all of our dog sitting in the future!

FAQs for House Sitting - Moraga

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Moraga on Rover is $52.53 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 8,879 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Moraga. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Moraga walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Moraga maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Moraga choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Moraga. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
