“Demi was a great house sitter for my dog Meatball! She was respectful of the house, gave us great updates and showed him a lot of love. We would definitely use her again!”

“Jana came over for a meet and greet as was very attentive to my dogs needs and routine. She house sat for over a week, communicated well, sent lots of pics and updates which made us happy and we were able to enjoy our vacation to full extent. We would definitely use Jana again and recommend her.”

“This is my 2nd time hiring Laura and I'm so glad I did! I was away from my pets (a senior cat and anxious dog) for 2 weeks. Laura provided excellent care and attention to my pets and I felt very comfortable knowing they were in Laura's hands. Laura made sure they were both happy and safe and that's all I could ask for. She also left the house spotless and even did some extra cleaning. I would recommend Laura to anyone and will hire her again in a heartbeat because my pets love her!”

“Tori was absolutely wonderful. Our dog is very skittish and does not warm up to people easily, but within minutes of meeting Tori, she was affectionate and clearly comfortable. Tori was incredibly responsive, responsible, proactive, attentive, and respectful throughout the entire stay. She kept us updated, took amazing care of our dog, and treated our home with real care. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing both our dog and house were in such capable hands. We cannot recommend Tori highly enough and are already planning to book her again to stay at our house when we travel later this summer.”

“Elizabeth took such good care of our dog while we were away for our trip. She sent updates and photos daily and made sure our dog was comfortable and loved every day. We highly recommend Elizabeth for anyone who is in need of someone to watch after their pet and home.”

“Desiree was great with my Rosie! We had her for 10 days. She sent constant updates and pictures of the fun they had each day. I would recommend her 100 times over. Before she left she cleaned up and laundered her bedding. We certainly couldn't tell someone has been living in our home for 10 days. We'll be calling her again for sure.”

“Sabrina was attentive to my dogs, made sure they received their medications, and gave some extra attention to my dog who was three weeks post-op, which I really appreciated. My dogs seemed to really like her! She sent updates and photos and left the house clean with things put back where they belong.”

“Jordan was incredible with our dog Banks. Banks was unexpectedly hobbled before our trip and Jordan did a great job navigating Banks' medicine and limited mobility. He was extremely communicative and was very responsible.”

“Evelyn was wonderful for our pup! He was loved and cared for greatly while we were gone. We knew he was in good hands when she text updates throughout the day and sent pictures too! We missed our boy while we were away but Evelyn took great care of him. Thank you again Evelyn! I highly recommend Evelyn for anyone needing an amazing pet sitter!”
“Exceptional care! MJ took excellent care of our Bernedoodle puppy, she sent us updates and pictures throughout and our pup, Elvie, truly loved her time with MJ. Elvie has an abundance of energy and MJ kept her active and stimulated, she also brought over a snuffle mat which was such a hit we went out and bought one right away. Would 100% recommend MJ for your dogwalking or dogsitting needs.”

“Haniya took care of our 2 kitties and pup overnight. She was very communicative, sending photos and updates and quick to text back when we reached out. Haniya was great managing all 3 of the pets and their needs, including giving insulin and oral medicine to one of our kitties and a pill to our pup. We came home to happy animals and a clean home!”

“Ariena took fantastic care of our elderly lab for about a week, she was a wonderful house guest and most importantly made our pup feel like a million bucks! Ariena gave frequent updates and it was clear she really enjoyed spending time with our dog which felt so comforting. At the last minute our dog needed some complicated medication administered, ariena took care of that no problem. Ariena also has a great personality and is funny and kind. Highly recommend!!!”

“Monica was amazing with both my dog and cat! She was very responsive and it’s clear she cares deeply for animals. She had no trouble following our somewhat extensive care instructions for our senior dog and went above and beyond on walks and sending pictures. Monica also left the house very clean. I would absolutely hire Monica again.”

About: Hello! Thank you for considering me for your pet care needs. I am a dependable, compassionate individual, and love meeting as well as caring for dogs. I'm currently in FinTech and my partner works in government, but we LOVE dog boarding as it gives us the opportunity to care for cute pups and to give our dog, Zoe, a new f(u)riend. Zoe is our almost 8 year old golden lab mix rescue who is very gentle and has a great temperament. She gets along well with other dogs and is even willing to share her toys and treats! She likes to run around with f(u)riends during walks as well as chasing them, but not so much ruff play. I work from home 4 days a week (in office on Tuesdays) but otherwise have a flexible schedule. The health and well being of my pet and those that I watch are always a priority. My partner goes into the office 4 days/week, but after work we take the dogs on a walk/hike and also on weekends. I have a large fenced yard with turf and a magnet screen set up, so your pup will have free access to the backyard and turf, but let us know if supervision is needed when they are in the backyard. We also sometimes pet sit for our parents as well as friends. We love dogs and treat them as though they are family members. I grew up with several dogs my whole life of different breeds and have experience caring for both small and medium dogs. The dogs that come into our house are given a lot of attention, pets, comfort, and love. We want our new family members to feel comfortable in our home, for that reason, we normally only board one dog at a time. Our max is two dogs, only if we have boarded the dogs before and are familiar with their temperament and socialization. If you prefer to not have another dog boarded during the stay, please let us know and we can accommodate. If you have any questions about us or would like to learn more about our backgrounds, please feel free to reach out! We look forward to hearing from you!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Brookshire
Daryl was an amazing dog sitter. I have a 14-year old terrier mix and she is hesitant about people she doesn't know well. It took her only a couple of hours to bond with Daryl. They enjoyed long walks in the neighborhood and sitting on the deck enjoying the birds and flowers. Daryl was also very helpful with watering my plants around the house, setting up a new TV and taking a defective one to UPS for return. The house was in excellent shape when I returned, and more importantly, so was my dog. I received photos and messages from Daryl throughout my travel, which put my mind at ease. In the 14 years I have owned my little dog, Daryl was by far the best dog sitter I have had. I will not hesitate to use his services again.

Destiny was great to work with and will be our go to as much as possible. She stayed at the house for the weekend and Millie had an amazing time with her. She was a happy girl when we got home. Destiny was responsive and kept us updated. She kept Millie engaged and on schedule (which is amazing for a puppy) and our house was in perfect condition. We feel lucky to have found a trustworthy caregiver!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Brookshire walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Brookshire maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Brookshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
