About: I have experience caring for dogs including my own senior Shih Tzu for 14 years. I currently offer daily walks, drop-in visits, overnight boarding, and in-home pet sitting. I’m comfortable with feeding routines, potty breaks, playtime, and giving dogs the attention and calm presence they need while their owners are away. I also make sure pets stay on their usual schedule as much as possible so they feel safe and settled. Whether it’s a quick visit during the day, a walk to get energy out, or staying overnight, I focus on being reliable, patient, and attentive to each dog’s personality and needs. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I am available full-time. My flexible schedule allows me to provide dependable care, whether it's daily walks, drop-in visits, daycare, boarding, or overnight care. I enjoy spending time with pets and can easily accommodate morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend bookings. My goal is to provide consistent, attentive care while ensuring each pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for throughout their time with me. We have a large fenced balcony at first floor. Also a big area in our community with natural grass perfect for play and potty breaks.
“Laura was absolutely wonderful with my pug and cat! She was incredibly communicative, kept me updated the whole time, and took amazing care of them both. I felt completely at ease leaving them in her hands and will definitely book her again. Highly recommend!”

“Jana came over for a meet and greet as was very attentive to my dogs needs and routine. She house sat for over a week, communicated well, sent lots of pics and updates which made us happy and we were able to enjoy our vacation to full extent. We would definitely use Jana again and recommend her.”

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life, starting with Daisy, a cocker spaniel I got back in second grade. She lived to a happy old age and even had puppies. I kept one, a cockapoo named Lucas, and he’s still with me today along with his sister Bella. They’re almost 13 now, so I know senior dogs well, plus all the energy and walks that younger ones need. Over the years I’ve dog sat and house sat for family and friends, with everything from small dogs to big breeds like a Kangal and a pit/bulldog mix. I’m comfortable with all kinds, though small to medium dogs are my sweet spot. I’m also happy to handle the little stuff, like ear cleaning, that some breeds need. Whether your dog is a puppy, full of energy, or slowing down a bit, they’ll be in calm and caring hands with me. My schedule shifts week to week since I’m balancing work and school, but overall it gives me a lot of flexibility. I’m generally free most mornings and have stretches throughout the day to check in, walk dogs, or spend real time with cats rather than just rushing through visits. For house sitting, I plan my hours around your pet’s routine, not the other way around. I’ve had pets my whole life, so a calm and safe environment is second nature to me. For dogs, that means sticking to their walk and feeding schedule and being attentive during play and downtime. For cats, I’m careful about doors and entry points since I know how easily they can slip out, and I keep an eye on plants or anything toxic that curious pets might chew on. Either way, I follow your home’s rules exactly as you’d want them and pay attention to the small things that help a pet feel safe and comfortable with someone new around.
About: I am a full time caregiver for animals of all kinds, including years spent interning and volunteering at rescues and sanctuaries. When in these positions I care for about a hundred beautiful beings 24/7, from fluffy little rescued babies all the way to elders like a 23 year old dog. When I am sitting for you, I am only working with and focused on the animals in your household. I offer calm, empathic care, defined by my insight since birth that each and every animal is a unique, sensitive individual worthy of respect and protection. As a full-time animal caregiver, I’m devoted to providing patient, compassionate, and attentive care to every animal I meet. I only caregive for one household at a time, so I am with your furry or feathered friends for the entire time you are away. I care for your companions right in their own home, where they feel safest. I prioritize creating a calm, secure environment and building trust through gentle, consistent attention. Your beloved family member's comfort and well-being always come first.
“Jesika and Jyhikeen sat for our 3 rambunctious cats for 10 days, and were wonderful! Great, caring communication, daily photos, and we came home to a clean house and happy cats. We'd absolutely hire them again.”

“Overall, Sabrina did a great job with Zac, our shy 9-year-old Border Collie mix. She understands dogs and she gently let Zac warm up to her the first day or so after which they had a super 10 days together. Zac was in great spirits when we returned and our home was in good shape - we wouldn't hesitate to ask Sabrina to sit with Zac again in the future, if she is available.”

“My cats warmed right up to Demi! It was a great peace of mind having her stay in my home with them so they wouldn't be bored or lonely with an empty house while I was away on a weekend trip. Demi was communicative and sent frequent updates and pictures, which I really appreciated. I will definitely be booking with her again!”

“You can tell Ariena loves your dog. He is always well taken care of and she goes above and beyond to make sure he has a special time while you’re away. I would highly recommend her to stay with your animals!”

“Daria did an amazing job watching our puppy, Bento! She followed all the instructions and gave Bento many cuddles & lots of play time. I’ll be booking with her again!”

I work from home, which allows me to give pups plenty of attention and take them on 3–4 walks a day around the neighborhood. I live 3 blocks from Lake Chabot and love taking dogs on walks there so they can enjoy fresh air, exercise, and new smells. My goal is to make every dog feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I also send daily photo and video updates so you can see how your pup is doing. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Thanks! :) I work from home, so I can spend lots of quality time with your pup! I’m available for boarding on both weekdays and weekends. I live in a house with my mom and occasionally help my sister and boyfriend take care of their pets, so I’m comfortable caring for dogs and understanding their needs. I can provide plenty of walks, playtime, attention, and care throughout the day to help your pup feel safe and comfortable.
“Brittany took wonderful care of our dogs, cats, and rats! She was very responsive, attentive, and communicated well with us while we were away. We appreciated the way she tracked their schedule and went above and beyond cleaning up after them in our yard. It definitely made our time away more relaxing.”

About: Hello! My name is Mary and I’m a retired grandmother who has been a dog owner and dog lover all my life. Although I’m not able to own a furry friend in my home right now, I often take care of my children’s and relative’s dogs whenever needed. I completely understand the importance of feeling at ease with someone in your home taking care of your loved one. Being retired opens up my availability to be flexible to accommodate your needs. Any day, any time, any length, regardless of Holidays or school schedules. I’ve cared for children, grandchildren, and animals my whole life. I am responsible and dependable and love them unconditionally. I will be respectful of your home and your privacy throughout my house sitting stay.
“Johnatan took care of my dog for 2 weeks. He’d feed her and walk her twice a day. He was always respectful and kept me posted about my dog’s activities. He washed the linens before departing and even gave my dog a quick bath (he forgot the blow-drying part though). As much as I’d like to give him 5 stars, there’s still room for improvement as he forgot to leave the sliding door open for the dog to go outside leading to the dog peeing and popping inside of the house. He sometimes took 8+ hours to get back home and a couple of nights he wasn’t able to return at all and my dog slept alone. The latter due to he working part time at a place located 1 hr away from our home. Overall, a thrustful boy who just needs to get more experience.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Brookshire
Daryl was an amazing dog sitter. I have a 14-year old terrier mix and she is hesitant about people she doesn't know well. It took her only a couple of hours to bond with Daryl. They enjoyed long walks in the neighborhood and sitting on the deck enjoying the birds and flowers. Daryl was also very helpful with watering my plants around the house, setting up a new TV and taking a defective one to UPS for return. The house was in excellent shape when I returned, and more importantly, so was my dog. I received photos and messages from Daryl throughout my travel, which put my mind at ease. In the 14 years I have owned my little dog, Daryl was by far the best dog sitter I have had. I will not hesitate to use his services again.

Destiny was great to work with and will be our go to as much as possible. She stayed at the house for the weekend and Millie had an amazing time with her. She was a happy girl when we got home. Destiny was responsive and kept us updated. She kept Millie engaged and on schedule (which is amazing for a puppy) and our house was in perfect condition. We feel lucky to have found a trustworthy caregiver!

FAQs for House Sitting - Brookshire
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Brookshire on Rover is $63.87 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 9,639 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Brookshire. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Brookshire walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Brookshire maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Brookshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Brookshire. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
