Laura was absolutely amazing!!!! We have an older grumpy small dog who needs constant care and a younger large doodle who has a ton of energy. She was great with both of them! The old dog doesn’t like most people but he liked her. She took great care of them and we got many updates every day. It was such a relief to know that they were in good hands while we were gone. She took them on many walks, played and had lots of snuggles. I highly recommend Laura. Her care really is top notch

Holly exceeded my expectation I had for a pet sitter. She arrived on time, immediately connected with Lily, and took the time to learn all about Lily's routine and preferences. Her questions showed how much she cared about providing the best possible experience for my dog. During her visit, Holly kept me updated with messages and photos, which gave me peace of mind. It was obvious that Lily was comfortable, happy, and received excellent care. Holly is professional, dependable, communicative, and genuinely loves animals. She has two dogs of her own. I feel fortunate to have found Holly and will absolutely book her again. I recommend her without reservation to anyone seeking exceptional care for their pet.

Kristi was an amazing sitter! This was my first time using Rover and she made me feel really comfortable leaving my furbaby for the weekend. She kept me updated with pictures at least five times a day. She was even kind enough to gift Luna a set of toys that she has yet to put down ever since. Thank you for leaving Luna with a smile Kristi!

Rylie did a. wonderful job of dog sitting Chief, our 13 year old Boston Terrier. She stayed at our home for a long weekend, and sent us updates and pictures 2/day to share how the day was going and what activities she and Chief did each day. When she arrived early Friday am, Chief was so excited to see Rylie. She walked Chief each day, and spent a lot of time outdoors in our backyard relaxing and playing with toys on the grass. Rylie left our house spotless, and most importantly took great care of Chief. Thank you Rylie for your love of animals, for the care and love you gave Chief, and for being dependable and trustworthy to also take care of our home. We look forward to having you take care of Chief again Rylie!!

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life, starting with Daisy, a cocker spaniel I got back in second grade. She lived to a happy old age and even had puppies. I kept one, a cockapoo named Lucas, and he’s still with me today along with his sister Bella. They’re almost 13 now, so I know senior dogs well, plus all the energy and walks that younger ones need. Over the years I’ve dog sat and house sat for family and friends, with everything from small dogs to big breeds like a Kangal and a pit/bulldog mix. I’m comfortable with all kinds, though small to medium dogs are my sweet spot. I’m also happy to handle the little stuff, like ear cleaning, that some breeds need. Whether your dog is a puppy, full of energy, or slowing down a bit, they’ll be in calm and caring hands with me. My schedule shifts week to week since I’m balancing work and school, but overall it gives me a lot of flexibility. I’m generally free most mornings and have stretches throughout the day to check in, walk dogs, or spend real time with cats rather than just rushing through visits. For house sitting, I plan my hours around your pet’s routine, not the other way around. I’ve had pets my whole life, so a calm and safe environment is second nature to me. For dogs, that means sticking to their walk and feeding schedule and being attentive during play and downtime. For cats, I’m careful about doors and entry points since I know how easily they can slip out, and I keep an eye on plants or anything toxic that curious pets might chew on. Either way, I follow your home’s rules exactly as you’d want them and pay attention to the small things that help a pet feel safe and comfortable with someone new around.

About: My daughter and I miss our Rocky. And we both absolutely love dogs. We decided to join rover so we can take care of dogs, get to play with them, and earn some extra money. My calendar is up-to-date. For meet and greets, weekends work best. Or after 4ish pm on weekdays. You may find us hanging out at the Del Mar dog park in San Ramon. I dont have any pets of my own but I do have some repeat clients and end up hosting some pets on short notice. I have a small fenced yard. Don’t have too much furniture so pets are free to run around and explore. Most of my clients are small to medium sized dogs and lot of them are doodles I do follow the same rules as the owners.

About: I grew up with two Golden Retrievers and learned to take care of them at a young age. I also have experience with pet sitting for neighbors and friends animals, whether that be staying at their homes or bringing pets into my own home. I love dogs so much and believe they deserve to be protected and respected just as humans are! I am a college student home for the summer, meaning I have tons of free-time to hangout with the pups. My routine is very simple and includes walking my own dog daily! I have a 3 bedroom home that also includes a fenced in backyard for your pup to play outside! I have a 10 year old Golden Retriever who gets along well with all breeds and is very mellow.

We recently used Leilani to take care of our puppy Leo from 5am to 8pm while we hiked Vernal Falls in Yosemite, and she did a great job. She arrived on time, took good care of Leo in our home, and kept him comfortable throughout the day. She also took him on two walks, which we really appreciated. Leo seemed happy and well cared for when we got back. We would definitely consider using her again in the future.

We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! She took such wonderful care of our dogs while we were away on vacation for a week. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such loving and capable hands. She kept us updated, sent photos/videos, made sure they were happy and well cared for, and treated them like they were her own. We came home to two happy, relaxed dogs, and that says it all. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy pet sitter. Thank you so much for taking such great care of our babies!

About: I have experience caring for dogs including my own senior Shih Tzu for 14 years. I currently offer daily walks, drop-in visits, overnight boarding, and in-home pet sitting. I’m comfortable with feeding routines, potty breaks, playtime, and giving dogs the attention and calm presence they need while their owners are away. I also make sure pets stay on their usual schedule as much as possible so they feel safe and settled. Whether it’s a quick visit during the day, a walk to get energy out, or staying overnight, I focus on being reliable, patient, and attentive to each dog’s personality and needs. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I am available full-time. My flexible schedule allows me to provide dependable care, whether it's daily walks, drop-in visits, daycare, boarding, or overnight care. I enjoy spending time with pets and can easily accommodate morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend bookings. My goal is to provide consistent, attentive care while ensuring each pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for throughout their time with me. We have a large fenced balcony at first floor. Also a big area in our community with natural grass perfect for play and potty breaks.

We needed a sitter for our two cats for a one-month trip oversea. We decided to give a try to Rover and found Janet. Janet's profile is a perfect match for us. We did an introduction, found her easy going, kind and loving hence quickly decided to go with her. Janet took good care of our two cats. Our cats (including the shy one) bonded with her quickly. She communicated well and sent periodical updates with pictures/ videos. We were able to enjoy our trip without worrying about the cats. The house was left the way it was when we returned. We had a good first experience with Rover and Janet and will definitely book with her again!

Katherine was excellent! Jax (8-year-old Pitbull) took to her immediately, and he's very discerning. ;-) Katherine went the extra mile and stayed with him while our home was under construction (for a remodel). Yanhong did an exceptional job of taking care of Chief while we went on vacation. Each day she sent us updates on how Chief was doing, and darling pictures and videos of Chief. He looked so happy. Yanhong administered Chief's medications 4/day and took him on his daily walks. She is so conscientious and made sure he was eating properly, taking his meds, sleeping well and playing through-out the day. She also left our home spotless. We are so grateful that we met Yanhong and totally trusted her to take care of Chief. We had a wonderful vacation knowing that Chief was in excellent care with Yanhong. She gave us peace of mind by sharing all her updates, pictures and videos letting us know how well he was doing. We will definitely ask Yanhong to take care of Chief again when we get the opportunity to go on another trip. Thank you Yanhong for taking such great care of our very special family member :).

FAQs for House Sitting - Dublin

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Dublin on Rover is $65.56 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 9,555 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Dublin. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Dublin walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Dublin maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dublin choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Dublin. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
