“This is our second time working with Diana and we can’t recommend her enough. Our old dogs can be pretty high maintenance, but she does a great job caring for them when we’re away. Thank you!”

“Jana came over for a meet and greet as was very attentive to my dogs needs and routine. She house sat for over a week, communicated well, sent lots of pics and updates which made us happy and we were able to enjoy our vacation to full extent. We would definitely use Jana again and recommend her.”

“Laura was absolutely wonderful with my pug and cat! She was incredibly communicative, kept me updated the whole time, and took amazing care of them both. I felt completely at ease leaving them in her hands and will definitely book her again. Highly recommend!”

“Holly exceeded my expectation I had for a pet sitter. She arrived on time, immediately connected with Lily, and took the time to learn all about Lily's routine and preferences. Her questions showed how much she cared about providing the best possible experience for my dog. During her visit, Holly kept me updated with messages and photos, which gave me peace of mind. It was obvious that Lily was comfortable, happy, and received excellent care. Holly is professional, dependable, communicative, and genuinely loves animals. She has two dogs of her own. I feel fortunate to have found Holly and will absolutely book her again. I recommend her without reservation to anyone seeking exceptional care for their pet.”

“Jenarae has watched our pack in the past and she has shown competence and diligence with our monsters and home. We have three bully breeds and one Maine Coon and they all have their own physical and emotional needs; Jenarae has been great at adapting to each of their needs to assure they all feel secure and loved.”
“Jordan took care of our 2 cats for a week when we went away on vacation. He was really on top of things, responsible and reliable. He sent us photos daily by text to assure us everything was happening according to plan. He’s really nice too. I highly recommend him!”

“We can’t begin to thank Kristi enough for coming to our rescue and taking fabulous care of our lab Dexter and our itty bitty kitty Willy ! She cared for our home like it was her own, everything was right in its place when we got home. Her communication with us while we were gone was fantastic, she let us know every step of the way how things were going and the pictures and videos were so fun to receive!! We wouldn’t give it a second thought to take full advantage of Kristi’s services again when needed !”

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life, starting with Daisy, a cocker spaniel I got back in second grade. She lived to a happy old age and even had puppies. I kept one, a cockapoo named Lucas, and he’s still with me today along with his sister Bella. They’re almost 13 now, so I know senior dogs well, plus all the energy and walks that younger ones need. Over the years I’ve dog sat and house sat for family and friends, with everything from small dogs to big breeds like a Kangal and a pit/bulldog mix. I’m comfortable with all kinds, though small to medium dogs are my sweet spot. I’m also happy to handle the little stuff, like ear cleaning, that some breeds need. Whether your dog is a puppy, full of energy, or slowing down a bit, they’ll be in calm and caring hands with me. My schedule shifts week to week since I’m balancing work and school, but overall it gives me a lot of flexibility. I’m generally free most mornings and have stretches throughout the day to check in, walk dogs, or spend real time with cats rather than just rushing through visits. For house sitting, I plan my hours around your pet’s routine, not the other way around. I’ve had pets my whole life, so a calm and safe environment is second nature to me. For dogs, that means sticking to their walk and feeding schedule and being attentive during play and downtime. For cats, I’m careful about doors and entry points since I know how easily they can slip out, and I keep an eye on plants or anything toxic that curious pets might chew on. Either way, I follow your home’s rules exactly as you’d want them and pay attention to the small things that help a pet feel safe and comfortable with someone new around.
“Rylie was great with the dogs, they loved all the attention she gave them. It was great coming home to a house that didn't smell like dog pee (we have senior dogs) and was nice and clean. Thank you Rylie”

About: I have been caring for animals since childhood, as we have always had pets in our home. I lost my beloved cat two years ago, and since then I haven't been able to get another pet, but I really enjoy taking care of other animals and filling the void in this way. in fact, besides Rover, I have a second job, but I manage to do everything because this work lasts half a day. so i can put it all together We live in a 2 person house. Both are very fond of animals. all questions will be asked to you, I mean how many times should you feed your pet? Or how many times does he go to patchwork? and based on your answers, I do everything as you say
“Responsible, punctual, clean and detail oriented. They arrived on time, during our initial meeting they asked questions such as feeding times/style (free feeding or meal times), or if there were a limit on treats, which are great details to ask for any pet sitter and shows that they are experienced and care about the pets needs as well as owner set restrictions, and my place was left clean and organized. They sent me regular photo updates on my two cats, and them playing with them, which helped me rest assured my cats were being well taken care of while I was away which is a huge relief. I would definitely recommend these two :)”

About: I have a deep love for animals, and my own dog is like my son. His name is Potato. He’s incredibly loved, well cared for, and definitely spoiled with affection! Because of that, I understand how important it is to find someone you can truly trust with your pet. When your pet is with me, I’ll treat them as if they were my own family. They’ll receive plenty of love, attention, playtime, and care in a safe, comfortable environment. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, cuddles on the couch, or simply having someone nearby, I’ll make sure they feel happy, secure, and loved while you’re away. I know every pet has a unique personality and routine, so I’m happy to follow your instructions to keep them comfortable. My goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing your furry family member is being cared for with the same love and dedication I give my own dog. I am available Monday through Friday from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM. If you need care for a longer period, I’m happy to discuss accommodations. I am also available all day on Saturdays and Sundays. I take care of my dog by making homemade meals every day using healthy ingredients, give him healthy treats, and always make sure he has fresh water. We go on daily walks, play together, and he gets plenty of cuddles and attention throughout the day. I will treat your pet/family the same 🙂 I love taking Potato on adventures, and he’s traveled with me to more than six states. I make sure he’s always safe, comfortable, and included wherever we go.
“Kim is AMAZING! She took excellent care of our Jax. Based on the photos she sent, clearly, he was on vacation for the week too! She was VERY helpful around the house with my plants, taking care of the home, cleaning before we returned, and was very communicative. She was even willing to help with a family emergency while we were away. Jax is a very opinionated Pitbull; he gives her 5 STARS and is asking when she can come back. THANK YOU for everything, Kim!”

“Leilani took took care of our dog and cat while we were away over the weekend. She did a great job caring and connecting with them. We would definitely use her services again!”

“Our anxious rescue dog Leo loves Maria! She is always so sweet and thoughtful with him and goes out of her way to make sure he feels safe and cared for while we are away. He even follows her around the house now because he trusts her and doesn’t want to be too far from her! Thanks for another great dog sitting experience, Maria.”

We needed a sitter for our two cats for a one-month trip oversea. We decided to give a try to Rover and found Janet. Janet's profile is a perfect match for us. We did an introduction, found her easy going, kind and loving hence quickly decided to go with her. Janet took good care of our two cats. Our cats (including the shy one) bonded with her quickly. She communicated well and sent periodical updates with pictures/ videos. We were able to enjoy our trip without worrying about the cats. The house was left the way it was when we returned. We had a good first experience with Rover and Janet and will definitely book with her again!
Kristina did an amazing job watching our precious dog Nelson at our wedding reception. She was attentive to his needs and flexible with all the chaos of the event, making sure Nelson was taken care of, walked, and soothed when he needed it. We are so grateful to her!

Pheobe is a gem! She follows directions, left our home clean, and most important loved and cared for our boys. We saw pictures daily of their walks and other activities and were given reports of how things were going. With our boys in Phoebes care we were able to relax and enjoy our time away. Thank you , Phoebe!
Katherine was excellent! Jax (8-year-old Pitbull) took to her immediately, and he's very discerning. ;-) Katherine went the extra mile and stayed with him while our home was under construction (for a remodel). She kept Jax on his schedule, administered his necessary medications, and ensured he took all his daily walks. I felt very comfortable leaving Jax and my house under her supervision, and it all went very well. I highly recommend Katherine!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Dublin on Rover is $65.56 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 9,555 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Dublin. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Dublin walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Dublin maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dublin choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Dublin. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
