“Trina took incredible care of our dog Dolly, taking things like the weather into consideration and also keeping in constant communication with us. She left the house spotless and even tidied Dolly’s toys up.”

“Tori was absolutely wonderful. Our dog is very skittish and does not warm up to people easily, but within minutes of meeting Tori, she was affectionate and clearly comfortable. Tori was incredibly responsive, responsible, proactive, attentive, and respectful throughout the entire stay. She kept us updated, took amazing care of our dog, and treated our home with real care. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing both our dog and house were in such capable hands. We cannot recommend Tori highly enough and are already planning to book her again to stay at our house when we travel later this summer.”

“Amy is the best dog sitter we could have asked for. I pride myself on how much I take my dogs on adventures but Amy even surpassed what I do for my own dog! Amy took my dog on numerous wonderful adventures while sending me amazing pictures from their adventures. When Amy left she left a gorgeous hand drawn picture of our dog. I recommend Amy to anyone with a pet that they like and want to leave in good hands. 5 stars. A+ dog sitting! Will hire again!”

About: I provide calm, loving care and treat every pet like my own. I’m patient and attentive to their routines, comfort, and needs. I’m experienced with both playful young pets and senior pets who need gentle care, medication reminders, and extra attention. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I naturally build pet care into my daily routine. I’m already organized with my time, so I can consistently check in, follow feeding schedules, and provide attention without rushing. On a daily basis, I make time for walks, play, litter box care, and companionship. Weekly, I plan ahead so I can accommodate longer visits, overnights, or extra care when needed. I’m reliable and flexible, so pets get steady, dependable care. I care for your pets in your home by following their normal routine as closely as possible. I make sure they’re fed, have fresh water, get potty breaks, and receive plenty of attention, play, and comfort. I keep their space clean and secure and adjust my care based on each pet’s personality, age, and needs so they feel safe and relaxed while you’re away.
About: I've been around dogs since I was 4 years old and have been taking care of dogs since I was 9 years old. My family has relied on me to feed, walk, and groom our dogs. I can take care of dogs at any life stages. My own dog is a senior (13 yrs old) and I have been caring for him since he was a puppy. I have 3 years of experience dog walking, dog sitting, and cat sitting for clients professionally. I'm currently in a grad program at CSUEB, and am typically available for most afternoons/evenings. I’m available on the weekends and to house sit as well. If you need me to care for your pet inside your own home, I would require to meet with you and your pet first to go over your pet's specific care instructions. I will maintain open and clear communication with you during the time I am caring for your pet and provide updates on how they are doing.
“I highly recommend Alex. My Boston Terrier, Mojo, is very stubborn and does not trust strangers. He seemed to really like Alex and opened up to her easily over the weekend when I'm gone. Alex is great at following instructions and easy to communicate with. Mojo had a fun time I'm sure. Thanks, Alex!”
“Andrew was great! He was attentive of Timon and updated me on how he was doing throughout the day. Timon chomped down on a Christmas light and Andrew was quick to respond to get it out of his mouth and put the pieces where he couldn't get them. Will definitely reach out to Andrew again!”

“Amy is amazing!!! Our anxious dog loves her so much and that makes us feel so great when we leave town. I know that our dog is in the most caring hands. Amy is our go to whenever we travel because our dog says so!!”

“Gloree was communicative, professional, friendly and personable. She got along great with my dogs which is no small feat because on of our dogs is aloof. She also kept our house clean. We will be using her again!”

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals since I was a child and the love never ceased. I’ve cared for both dogs and cats. I have extensive experience caring for senior pets who might need a bit more attention. I am currently home from UCSC this summer so have very open availability for providing services. Additionally, I have my own vehicle so there are no time constraints in scheduling. I will be able to crate your pets if needed, but if they prefer a cuddle I will happily oblige! Have a pet with lots of energy? We can do long walls or monitored off leash play if that’s what they are used to !
“Darcy was excellent. I appreciated her availability for a meet and greet beforehand, to figure out the details for her stay. She was easy to work with, professional, and clearly has a love for animals. My husband and I were able to sleep easy knowing Darcy was keeping an eye on our cats. We especially appreciated that she was able to hold down the fort when we were unexpectedly without cell service at the event we were attending. She was able to figure things out, and there were zero issues even though I was unable to answer her questions. I would have no hesitation asking Darcy back or recommending her to a friend. Thank you, Darcy!”

About: Have always had dogs and cats in the house and couldn’t imagine my life without them. Nice big backyard and plenty of room for activities! I currently work for myself so my schedule is very flexible week to week. Looking to help out another person owner with the added bonus of having a furry friend to have around. Big fenced in yard just under a half acre leaves plenty of room to run around. Access to indoors or outdoors at anytime, whatever makes pet most comfortable
“Alison sat for our dog and two cats over 5 days. We were very nervous because our dog can be very reactive. However we got through our extended weekend without any issues. We do wish though that we got more updates with how our pets were while we were away. Our dog seemed to be healthy and happy when we got home. Big thanks to Alison. With her help we were able to enjoy our time away with minimal worrying.”

About: I have been caring for animals since childhood, as we have always had pets in our home. I lost my beloved cat two years ago, and since then I haven't been able to get another pet, but I really enjoy taking care of other animals and filling the void in this way. in fact, besides Rover, I have a second job, but I manage to do everything because this work lasts half a day. so i can put it all together We live in a 2 person house. Both are very fond of animals. all questions will be asked to you, I mean how many times should you feed your pet? Or how many times does he go to patchwork? and based on your answers, I do everything as you say
“Abhi did a great job watching our house and two dogs, one of whom is an 8 week old puppy! We would absolutely rebook again. He was easy to get in touch with and our pups seemed in good spirits when we got back.”

Kim is AMAZING! She took excellent care of our Jax. Based on the photos she sent, clearly, he was on vacation for the week too! She was VERY helpful around the house with my plants, taking care of the home, cleaning before we returned, and was very communicative. She was even willing to help with a family emergency while we were away. Jax is a very opinionated Pitbull; he gives her 5 STARS and is asking when she can come back. THANK YOU for everything, Kim!

Teresa walked my two dogs while I was away . I found her through Rover. She was extremely prompt when coming to a meet and greet. I knew right away that I liked her and that she was a good fit for my dogs. She sent photos and Apple Watch pictures of the distance and time of her walks. She played with the dogs and gave them snacks. I gave her a key to my house and she laws very respectful of my home. She responds right away and answered any concerns I had. I would definitely use her again

Emma was very professional and caring to our two dogs. She left our home very clean and tidy and most importantly my dogs were happy. She was very communicative and took good care of my dogs. This was our first time using Rover and I would definitely work with Emma again!

Rubi watched our fur babies (+fish) for two weeks and she did amazing! She asked all the right questions and put us at ease, since this was our first time leaving them this long. We received adorable photos and check ins. Our cats seemed to love her and we will definitely use here again for our trips. We highly recommend her for any pet sitting needs!

Erin is a wonderful house sitter. Our dog Dante absolutely loves her and her care is great. She gives Dante nice walks and lots and lots of attention in the back yard. She brought in the mail and kept the house in perfect shape. She sends beautiful photos daily. Dante was very sorry to see her leave at the end of the house sitting!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 9,264 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Kilkare Woods. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Kilkare Woods walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Kilkare Woods maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kilkare Woods choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Kilkare Woods. On Rover:

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
