“My husband and I had plans for some of our friends to stop in and check in on our girl after the holidays but with the giant southwest flight cancellations they were no longer able to make it & then our flights also got canceled. We were panicked. So thankful for Stephanie and her last minute stopping in for our girl. I highly recommend her for any of your fur baby needs. Our house is always a disaster when she shows up (got married, holidays, life lol) but she is always so kind and asks so many questions!”
About: Hi, I’m Jasmine — a dedicated dog walker and sitter with years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, temperaments, and training levels. I share my home with three standard poodles, all agility- and obedience- trained, and I’ve fostered and rehabilitated countless rescued “oodles of poodles.” My background includes whelping litters, supporting dogs in distress, and providing structured, confidence-building care for nervous or high-energy pups. I hold a Fear Free Shelter Certificate of Completion and I’m certified in Pet CPR and First Aid. Whether you’re traveling for work or taking a much-needed vacation, I’m here to make sure your dog feels safe, understood, and genuinely cared for. With three standard poodles, pet care is already part of my everyday routine. I plan dedicated blocks for walks, drop ins and dogs who needs extra care. I provide calm, consistent, and safety-focused care whether a dog is in my home or theirs. I monitor behavior closely, keep the environment clean and secure, and use Fear Free handling to reduce stress.
“I can't recommend Shiqi enough! My cat, Yuki, is extremely shy and usually takes a long time to warm up to strangers. I was quite worried about leaving her alone, but Shiqi was incredible. She was so patient and gentle that Yuki actually started rubbing against her and playing with her after just a few visits! The daily updates, photos, and videos gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was such a relief to see my cat happy and active instead of hiding. If you have a timid cat, Shiqi is the perfect choice. 5 stars!”

“A big thank you to Anne for dropping in to feed Benny and keep him company. He was a happy little couch potato when we got home and it was very reassuring to know he was in Anne's good hands while we were out. We really appreciate the photos and status that let us know everything was well. We look forward to next time!”

About: With over 13 years of pet care experience—including a decade dedicated specifically to dogs—caring for animals is both my passion and my calling. I raised my own rescue, a friendly Labrador/Pitbull mix, from the time he was a tiny four-week-old pup, so I deeply understand the level of patience, tenderness, and attentiveness every dog deserves. I offer attentive overnight care and day services tailored to your dog’s unique routine. Whether they need frequent potty breaks, invigorating walks, or cozy downtime, I adapt completely to their needs. I'm a student at UCSB. When I am off class, I work part-time with rover. Taking care of your dog would be far from a job for me. Tending to the loving companions dogs are fulfills my day like no other. My neighborhood is surrounded by pet owners so ur dog will have company on his/her walks. Dog sitting at the owners house will also not be a problem, and I'm very reachable on my phone for constant updates.
“Rebooked with Andrew because I can't imagine trusting my precious baby cat and dog with anyone else! You'd think Andrew was Santa-Claws (ha, get it) from the way my dog IMMEDIATELY starts whining in excitement when he realizes "Uncle Andrew" is going to come spend time with him. My cat, who has NEVER voluntarily crawled onto my lap to sit and chill, is the total opposite with Andrew. He's both the cat AND the dog whisperer, and it's awesome. Andrew's great as always - punctual, caring, communicative, all the things that make for an excellent, trustworthy, above and beyond pet care giver.”

About: I’m a reliable and active dog lover who offers evening walks and attentive boarding in a calm, structured environment. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I treat every dog like they’re my own. Whether it’s getting them out for a solid walk, sticking to their normal routine, or making sure they feel comfortable while you’re away, I focus on providing consistent, dependable care. I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes and energy levels and will follow any specific instructions, feeding schedules, or special care needs you provide. I’m available for evening walks, which makes me a great option for after-work exercise, dinner-time potty breaks, or helping your dog burn off energy before settling in for the night. I prioritize safe, structured walks and make sure your dog gets both the physical activity and attention they need. For boarding, I want to be transparent that I live in a clean, well-maintained travel trailer. It’s a climate-controlled and secure space that provides a calm, low-stress environment for dogs. Because of the smaller, controlled setting, I’m able to give pets more direct supervision, consistent attention, and frequent outdoor time. Dogs are not left alone for long periods, and I make sure they get regular walks, engagement, and care throughout their stay. Many dogs actually do very well in this type of quiet, less chaotic environment. What sets me apart is my attention to detail, clear communication, and commitment to your dog’s well-being. I’m happy to provide updates and photos, and I take pride in making sure each dog feels comfortable, safe, and well cared for from the moment they arrive. With a work schedule of 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, I’m able to provide consistent care throughout the day. Pets can get a morning walk, a mid-day lunch break, and multiple evening walks to help burn off energy and stay on a routine. My schedule works especially well for dogs that need structure, regular exercise, and attention spread across the day. Your dog’s safety is my top priority. I prefer structured walks on trails, downtown paths, and open areas like the parade field rather than dog parks, where off-leash or unpredictable dogs can create unnecessary risk. This allows me to maintain better control, avoid unsafe situations, and focus fully on your dog. Whether in my care or your home, every dog is treated with the same level of attention and respect as if they were my own.

About: I have provided care to senior cats since I was in high school, and the owners invited me back for years to feed them, clean up after them, and give them medicine. I have also owned pets since I was a child and am no stranger to messes or overly energetic pets. I trained my own dog when she was a puppy and was the most successful in getting her to learn basic commands and simple tricks. I have also taken care of plants and general house maintenance. I currently work from 3PM to 11:30PM, Tuesday through Saturday, and am otherwise completely free and happy to take care of pets, plants, houses, and more. I am clean, timely, and consistent, and have had ten years of experience tending to pets that were not my own. I am attentive to instructions given by the owner and the needs of the pets in question. I care immensely about their wellbeing and am focused on making everyone's experience pleasant!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Kilkare Woods
Maya was amazing! She took such great care of our fur baby when we were away. When I saw the photos and report I knew right away our cat was in good hands. She made sure he was loved and looked after and left the house clean. Anytime I go out of town, I plan on requesting Maya!

Performed great drop in visits for our two spoiled cats while we had a local trip. Also had last minute request to water some plants in the summer heat. House, cats, and plants were well taken care of during her visit and will use Alysson again in the future.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
