“Kim is amazing, her house is beautiful, her two dogs are very well behaved, and I could not be happier with her services! She is very professional (knows a lot about dog training), communicates nicely, and my dog was better behaved when I picked her up than when I dropped her off!”

“Clara was amazing with our super energetic 10 month old puppy. She was very patient and took really good care of him. She was also very accommodating of my schedule and was willing to work around it. Guduchi looks forward to see his next stay with you.”

“This was our second experience with Susan in just a month—this time for daycare—and it confirmed everything we already felt about her. The moment Mochi’s paws touched the grass, she knew where she was. She sprinted to the front door, then to the garage looking for Susan, then back again—at one point even trying to crawl under the gate to get to her! It was hilarious, heart-melting, and such a clear sign of how special Susan is to her. Mochi absolutely adores her. At pickup, Mochi was happy to see me—but then ran right back to Susan for one last cuddle. It was priceless. Susan truly understands the perfect dog equation: a well-exercised + mentally stimulated + loved dog = a happy, content, and tired pup. Mochi was snoring the moment we got home! Whether you need daycare or an overnight stay, Susan is, without a doubt, the one.”

About: I have cared for dogs since I was young and know how to keep them happy. I dog sit my friends and family’s pets at my home whenever I get the chance. I am free on the weekends and look forward to go on walks and play with Daisy and our guest puppy. On Friday I’m free starting at 3 PM . My 13 and 9 year old daughter and son love to play with dogs. I have a large, fenced, grassy backyard and a doggy door so your dog can play in my yard whenever they want. There are no objects or anything for your dog to step on or eat in my house or backyard - it’s perfectly safe and puppy proofed here!
“My Siberian Husky came back very happy and tired from a fun full day! I really appreciated that he got a long walk first thing and had company and play time all day in a safe, clean house. Really gave me peace of mind and helped me out with my after-work evening errands to have a calm tired dog.”

“Ash and her family have treated my baby Pepper so well. He is just learning to be OK without me. Ash has helped me deal with his separation anxiety and mine :-) by welcoming him into her home.”

“Could not ask for a better dog sitting family! Their house is very dog friendly! They took exceptional care of my very energetic 6 month old Aussie puppy!...could not be happier with them...strongly suggest!”

About: I have two babies boys myself: a corgi and a mini goldendoodle, and have been sitting dogs for friends and others. I know how to take care of dogs, not just feeding and walking them, but also genuinely caring for them, taking them out for fun, playing with them and mental development. On my wfh days I take dogs out for a walk around lunchtime, and park playtime before dinner, and play with them throughout the day during my breaks from work! I have a spacious house with fenced backyard, two dogs to keep your baby company. I have experience taking care of up to 4 dogs at the same time, managing conflicts, supervising play and treats. Dogs are allowed anywhere in our house - couch, bed, office, backyard, chairs, bench, wherever they’re comfortable!
About: I’m a reliable, patient, and attentive pet sitter who treats every pet like family. Comfortable with puppies, senior dogs, medication, exercise, and maintaining consistent routines. I work remotely, so I’m home and available every day, which lets me easily fit pet care into my daily routine. I can provide consistent attention, walks, feeding, and check-ins without scheduling conflicts or time limitations. I primarily offer boarding in my home, where pets have a safe, large fenced yard to play and relax. I follow each owner’s instructions closely for feeding, routines, exercise, and comfort. Pets get supervised outdoor time, regular attention, and a calm, clean environment so they feel at home while you’re away.

Krish and Bhuvana were absolutely wonderful sitters for my dog, Chewy! They’re incredibly loving people and made Chewy feel right at home. They followed all my instructions perfectly and even went above and beyond, sending me regular pictures and videos, many of which featured their daughter giving Chewy endless snuggles and pets (he loved it!). They were so attentive that when they noticed Chewy itching a little, they proactively asked me about his ear medicine and took care of it right away. On top of that, they patiently tried different ways to get him to eat his boring prescription food, played fetch with him, took him out on daily walks (even though I hadn’t asked for that), and made sure he was always happy and cared for. The sweetest moment was when we came to pick him up. Chewy clearly didn’t want to say goodbye and went back to Bhuvana for one last pet before getting in the car. That said it all! I could tell he’s really going to miss them. I can’t recommend Krish and Bhuvana enough. They treated Chewy like family, and I’d happily book with them again.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
