“Amy was an absolute gem and treated our cat like he was royalty, even though he didn’t need the ego boost :). She was always extremely prompt and thorough with her drop-in visits. She was also very detailed with her report updates and provided lots and lots of photos! Thank you so much Amy for being the best sitter!”

“Mitchell is reliable, communicates very well, and takes great care of Archi. He was very kind and flexible to come care for Archi on very short notice and we are grateful for that. Recommend him to anyone and already rebooked his services again!”

“Ping was great with RB. She’s very kind and gentle. Her pup Cherry is also very sweet and well behaved. I think it’s a bonus for RB to have canine company. Ping sent photos, was able to accommodate last minute request and very responsive. Thanks Ping and Cherry!”

About: Hi 🐶 & 🐱 parents, My name is Noelle and always love animals. I have been around pets my entire life and have over 15 years of experience caring for dogs and cats. Growing up, my family always had dogs and a cat, and we still do to this day. I helped feed, walk, play with, and care for our pets from such a young age. My childhood cat is even still with us! I have also cared for my neighbor's pets, providing attention, companionship, and lots of love while their owners were away. One thing, I enjoy taking photos and videos of the pets I care for and sending updates to their owners, so they can feel connected and reassured while they're apart from their furry family members. I understand that every pet has a unique personality and individual needs. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, happy, and loved while in my care. I am currently available and have a flexible schedule. Caring for pets has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I make time in my daily routine for feeding, walks, playtime, and ensuring pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Throughout the week, I also make extra time for longer walks, enrichment activities, and providing updates to pet parents. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and look forward to making pet care a regular part of my schedule while giving each pet the attention and care they deserve. When I'm caring for pets in a client's home, I like to take care of all responsibilities first, such as feeding, walks, potty breaks, and any other requested tasks. After that, I enjoy spending quality time with the pets through play, companionship, and positive interaction. I do my best to keep each pet's routine as normal as possible so they feel comfortable, secure, and less stressed while their family is away. I carefully follow written instructions and pay close attention to each pet's individual needs. I prefer a calm and patient approach, allowing pets to adjust at their own pace while building trust and helping them feel at ease. I also provide regular updates so you can feel confident that your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for.
About: I have loved animals for as long as I can remember and genuinely enjoy caring for them. When I was younger, I attended an SPCA summer camp where I learned about animal care and responsibility, which helped grow my passion for pets. I grew up around dogs and had my family dog for 16 years, helping with his daily care and giving him lots of love and attention. He was my best friend and I loved him more then anything. I have also worked as a nanny and often cared for the families' dogs when needed. What sets me apart is the genuine connection I build with dogs. I am patient, dependable, and treat every pet like my own. I truly love spending time with animals and always make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. I have a very flexible schedule and do school online so I am open all the time to help you with your any of your animal needs! I have a house where I provide a safe, comfortable, and loving environment for pets. I have a spacious house and a huge backyard where dogs can play, run, and get plenty of exercise. I make sure they have constant supervision, fresh water, regular feeding schedules, and lots of attention and affection. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow all instructions closely to keep their routine consistent and stress-free. I prioritize their comfort by providing walks, playtime, feeding, and companionship while making sure they feel secure and cared for in their own space.
About: I grew up with big active dogs so I understand their needs and habits including affection, energy, and naughty tricks. I volunteer at an animal shelter so am well versed in a variety of dog breeds and dogs with unique histories. Because I am a grad student, I have the flexibility to be at home with your pet while I study. I have acted as a cat sitter as well and have come to love them too! I do not have experience with new kittens so adult cats preferred please. This summer I am fully at your disposal. I am on summer break between grad school programs. You can expect full time attention to your pets. Will update come fall. Your guidelines are my rules! I am happy to crate your pets, let them roam free, or have them sleep in the bed with me (more common request than you’d think) LOL. If you are local, I am happy to let your pup have some outside off leash time in my own fenced in yard, but I do not board dogs in my own home as I live with family while in grad school. I am happy to stay at your home or if you are local, just swing by for hangouts, walks, and bathroom breaks. If you are outside of Pleasanton, overnight stays at the dog’s home are preferred due to travel time. I am also capable of administering dog medications including pills and oral liquids, just leave me instructions!
“Having Gwen take care of our dog this past week has been a great experience! This was a last minute request and also our first time using Gwen’s services. She was very easy to communicate with, reliable, and responsible. I’d recommend her and I’d happily use her services again! Thanks for your help, Gwen!”

“We booked a sitter through Rover for the first time for a long time period and were a little nervous about leaving Missy alone, but Xiaoyu was absolutely wonderful. From the very beginning, she made sure Missy felt comfortable, loved, and well cared for. Xiaoyu followed all the instructions we discussed and truly went above and beyond to make sure Missy didn’t miss us. After just a few visits, it was clear that Missy looked forward to seeing her, which gave us so much peace of mind. I would highly recommend Xiaoyu to anyone looking for a dedicated, trustworthy, and caring sitter—and a true friend—for their fur baby. 🐾💛”

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals since I was a child and the love never ceased. I’ve cared for both dogs and cats. I have extensive experience caring for senior pets who might need a bit more attention. I am currently home from UCSC this summer so have very open availability for providing services. Additionally, I have my own vehicle so there are no time constraints in scheduling. I will be able to crate your pets if needed, but if they prefer a cuddle I will happily oblige! Have a pet with lots of energy? We can do long walls or monitored off leash play if that’s what they are used to !

I genuinely enjoy spending time with pets and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. I provide dog walking, drop-in visits, pet sitting, feeding, playtime, companionship, and basic grooming care like brushing and keeping pets clean. Some of the activities I enjoy doing with pets include walks around the neighborhood, playing fetch, tug-of-war, indoor games, light training reinforcement, cuddle time, and helping pets stay active and engaged throughout the day. I’ve cared for dogs and cats for friends, neighbors, and family members over the years, including energetic puppies, senior dogs, and shy pets that need extra comfort and reassurance. I’m attentive to feeding schedules, exercise needs, medication instructions, and making sure pets get plenty of affection and supervision. I currently work as a PT aide Monday through Friday, and my workplace is only about 5 minutes away from my home. I’m dependable, patient, and responsive, and I always try to make pets feel comfortable, loved, and stress-free while their owners are away. I also enjoy sending updates and photos so pet parents can feel confident that their furry family members are happy and well cared for. My goal is to create a safe, fun, and comforting environment for every pet I care for, and I’d love the opportunity to meet and care for your pets! My schedule is flexible, which gives me plenty of time to focus on pet care and spend quality time with your pets. I’m available on most weekends for walks, drop-ins, boarding, or house sitting. I enjoy staying active and spending time with animals, so I’ll make sure your pet gets lots of attention, playtime, and care throughout the day. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I take that responsibility seriously. I always follow your pet’s routine closely, including feeding schedules, medications, walks, and any special instructions. I keep pets safe, supervised, and comfortable at all times. I’m also happy to send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is being well cared for and getting lots of love and attention.

About: I grew up with two Golden Retrievers and learned to take care of them at a young age. I also have experience with pet sitting for neighbors and friends animals, whether that be staying at their homes or bringing pets into my own home. I love dogs so much and believe they deserve to be protected and respected just as humans are! I am a college student home for the summer, meaning I have tons of free-time to hangout with the pups. My routine is very simple and includes walking my own dog daily! I have a 3 bedroom home that also includes a fenced in backyard for your pup to play outside! I have a 10 year old Golden Retriever who gets along well with all breeds and is very mellow.
About: I treat every pet as if they were my own, with patience, kindness, and attention to their unique needs. I make sure pets feel safe, loved, and happy while their owners are away. As a stay-at-home mom, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give pets plenty of attention throughout the day. I’m usually home during the hours when many owners are away at work or busy, so I can provide regular walks, playtime, feeding, and companionship . Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, and I truly enjoy spending that time caring for animals. In my home, pets have a safe, clean, and comfortable environment where they can relax and feel at ease. I provide fresh water, daily playtime, and outdoor breaks as needed. I keep their schedule consistent with what they’re used to—whether it’s feeding, walks, or quiet rest—so they feel secure and happy. Most importantly, I give them plenty of love and attention, making sure they feel like part of the family during their stay.”

About: I am a dog owner and have been sitting for 8+ years. I would love to take your dog(s) on walks, spend time with them, and check in. I have worked as a veterinary assistant and can provide references :) I have experience with small animals, large/farm animals, and exotics. I am a student attending UC Davis next year currently on Summer vacation, so I have all day to take care of your pets and have very affordable rates! I am passionate, caring, and hard working, with references available. When not sitting or walking, I love rock climbing, camping, hiking, and volunteering. Message me with any questions about pricing or anything else, I am pretty flexible. I would love to take care of your pet(s), home, and plants while you are away! About: I’m a lifelong animal lover with over 15 years of dog walking and sitting experience. I’ve worked for a professional dog-walking company, leading both neighborhood walks and adventurous hikes. I’ve also cared for my own dog with epilepsy, giving medication three times a day and providing gentle, patient care. We’re a warm, loving little family who adore all kinds of animals. I live with my husband and our 4-year-old son, who was born into a home with a cat and dog and has grown up loving animals and nature. At home, we don’t currently have a dog or cat, just fishes and a frog 🐠🐸. After losing our beloved dog, we haven’t been ready to adopt another one, which means your pup will get all the love and attention they deserve while staying with us! I can care for your dog at your home or mine, in any weather, for walks, hikes, playtime, or full-time sitting. I can also provide care for cats while you’re away. Your furry friends will be treated with love, patience, and plenty of attention — maybe even spoiled just a little. 😉 I currently work only 2–3 hours a day during weekdays, so I have plenty of free time to care for your little one. I’m flexible on weekends as well, which means I can easily adjust my schedule for walks, playtime, or drop-in visits. Your furry baby will always get my full attention and care. I completely understand how it feels to miss your little one when you’re away — I’ve been there too. That’s why I’ll keep you updated with frequent photos and messages, so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and well cared for.
“Chalise was wonderful with our rambunctious new puppy! He appreciated the long walks, even though weather wasn’t wonderful! The sweet photos helped us feel relaxed that he was happy and comfortable.”

About: I’ve always had a huge heart for animals since I was a kid. I treat pets as if they were my own and respect their space when needed. I’ve worked with different such as livestock (horses, goats, sheep, cows) and your typical domesticated pet. I currently don’t have any pets of my own, so having the opportunity to watch someone else’s pet brings me tremendous joy. I currently work full time at a vet hospital Tuesday-Saturdays so it is really nice to be able to come home after work to something warm and fluffy. While in a clients home I always check out the home first so I can feel comfortable and see all possible exits. For pets to gain my trust I always let them sniff me first and treat them as if they were mine. I give them space when they need it. I have high respect for an owners home as well and treat it as if it were my home.
About: Since the time I had my pet for the last 4 years, I can’t disagree to say I secretly love him more than my daughter😁. They are super cute, notorious, kind with those forgiving eyes. It would be fun to have your fur babies playing in my backyard and staying in our house. My daughter loves dogs, my pet is calm but friendly upon his mood and as a team, my family would love to host your fur babies. I am a software engineer by profession and working remotely. I am full time available at home, when the care is needed for the dogs. I have a playpen along with a large dog crate, if separation is needed. Backyard is fenced and is super secure. My daughter and I will walk the dogs.

Amy was incredible! She took such great care of my cat and home. She really went above and beyond to ensure my cat was well taken care of. I would absolutely recommend her and I am already talking about my next booking with her. Thank you again, Amy you are amazing.

Needed a dog sitter last minute for my mini & giant schnauzers and Julie was available. She followed all instructions, even dropped by a little earlier, and brought an Amazon package in that arrived while I was out of town as well. Meet/greet was a bit stressful for my mini-schnauzer at first with his anxiety, but the drop in visits went well. She sent photo updates of the dogs, and communicated any issues or questions while she was caring for my dogs. Would rebook again if needed in the future! Thank you Julie!

Having Gwen take care of our dog this past week has been a great experience! This was a last minute request and also our first time using Gwen’s services. She was very easy to communicate with, reliable, and responsible. I’d recommend her and I’d happily use her services again! Thanks for your help, Gwen!

Megan was wonderful to work with. She was responsible, kind, and very reliable throughout the entire booking. She kept me updated with messages and photos, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. She was patient and caring with my shy cat, and I really appreciated her thoughtful care. I would definitely book with Megan again and highly recommend her to others.

Stephen was amazing! Our two dogs and lizard loved him and one of our dogs had a special circumstance and he went out of his way to take care special care of her. He reported to us all that happened on each visit and sent pictures too! He is very punctual and dependable through out our entire vacation. We highly recommend his services and will book with him again!

As always, Dakota took fantastic care of our kitties while we were out of town. We’ve been happy clients since 2024 and honestly wouldn't trust anyone else. I especially love his prompt responses and the consistent report cards—the photos always put our minds at ease! We highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable sitter.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
