About: I’ve been providing pet sitting, dog walking, and drop-in visits for over 10 years. Every pet has their own personality and routine, so I take the time to adapt to their individual needs. I strive to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I treat every pet as if they were my own! I’m available during the weekdays and weekends to care for your pet. I am able to give my full time and attention to your pet. I love to have a meeting with you and your pet before I take care or walk your pet! This is so I can get a good understanding of what you are looking for and how I can best take care of your pet.

About: Animal lover with hands on experience caring for 2 dogs and 4 cats, plus volunteer experience at an animal shelter working with baby and senior animals. Patient, reliable, and passionate about making pets feel safe and comfortable. I’m available Monday through Friday after 5 PM, and I’m fully available on weekends for pet sitting, drop in visits, walks, feeding, and playtime. I follow each pet’s routine to help them feel safe and comfortable. I make sure they have food, water, playtime, walks if needed, and lots of attention and care.
“Jinhao was a pleasure to work with! He is very easy to communicate with and very responsive, which gave me great peace of mind while I was away. He arrived right on time and it’s obvious he has a lot of experience and a genuine love for animals. My cat Sumo took to him almost immediately! Jinhao took care of all the essentials: feeding, fresh water, and scooping the litter, and also spent quality time playing with Sumo. I felt completely at ease knowing my cat was in such good hands. I will definitely be booking with him again in the future.”

“Jen has watched our cats a couple of times now, and we trust her completely. Even for quick drop-in visits, she’s reliable, communicative, and genuinely caring. Each of our cats has a different personality, and Jen is attentive to all of them making sure everyone is fed, safe, and getting individual attention. We came home to relaxed, well cared for cats and a clean space, which says everything. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter!”

“Chloe came by to our apt 2x day to take care our cat while we were away for 3 days. She stopped by a couple weeks prior to meet us, him and go over the directions for his care. She was quick to reply to messages during the time of booking and throughout. She did a great job keeping out place tidy and our cat looked well taken care of when we returned and on the update photos. Would reach out to Chloe again in the future.”

“Andy is kind and gentle with our tripod Xander. Our dog is always so excited when he sees Andy. He has leash reactivity and Andy has been understanding and capable. Andy has been flexible with our schedule. We are so happy we chose Andy to be our dog walker.”

“Veronica is the best cat sitter I have ever hired! Her attention to details and her clear communication while we were away gave me great confidence that my cat is being taken care of. Will certainly hire her again if we go away next time!”

About: Hi y’all! My name is Valeria :) I have 4+ years of dog walking, and pet caretaking. I started a small dog walking business 4 years ago, but only for family and friends. I am currently a veterinary technician, and have 1 dog of my own; Barry! Though he’s a small chihuahua/italian greyhound, he definitely acts like the opposite! I can care for dogs of all sizes and temperaments, though I am small. I also am able to administer any medications needed, for senior dogs, adult dogs, and even puppies :). Please feel free to reach out, and thank you so much for reading this ⭐️ I’m currently working part-time, but I also am a student. I am available most weekdays in the afternoon for walks, and always take my clients for longer walks any time on Sundays! :) I do live in an apartment, but my balcony is closed off at all times. The potty area is just next to the stairs leading up to my apartment, so it won’t be a whole hike to go potty :)
“Elena was very diligent, and all our three cats were left happy and fed :) She was communicating all the time, and we were left with complete confidence that our three furballs are in good hands.”

About: Hi! I’m Divya, a big dog lover and the proud owner of a Husky named Yukon, so I’m very comfortable caring for active and energetic dogs. Huskies need a lot of exercise and attention, which has given me great experience with long walks, playtime, and understanding different dog personalities. Over the years my husband and I also watched many friends’ dogs for free while they were away for a day or a weekend. Because of that, I’ve had experience with dogs of different breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I live in the East Bay and love taking dogs on long walks around the neighborhood or to nearby parks so they can get plenty of exercise and stimulation. Whether your dog needs a walk, a quick bathroom break, or someone to spend time with them while you’re out of town, I’d be happy to help. I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes and always try to follow each dog’s routine as closely as possible. Just let me know what your dog likes, their habits, and anything I should be aware of so I can make sure they have a great experience. I’d love to help take care of your dog and give you peace of mind while you’re away! I’m currently working from home a few times a week and available for weekend boardings. My husband and I usually are home during the week. Weekends we usually spend a lot of time with our husky. He’s super friendly not overly talkative dog and loves all dogs of all sizes. I live in a 2 bedroom apartment and have flexibility to take in a crate or use my dogs large one. We take our dog out 4-5 times a day depending on the day.
About: Your doggo will be treated like a member of the family and I will be sensitive to whatever your pup needs. I know that dogs each have their own personalities and will accommodate care to fit what makes them comfortable. We watch only one dog at a time so your dog will have our undivided attention. I am a part-time teacher that is home by 11:00am. My husband is home in the morning. The rest of the day is spent in my art studio. In the evening I usually go for a long walk. Most weekends are spent at home relaxing with family. We have a cozy condo that is dog friendly and a sunny deck for warm naps. We live close to Alameda Creek Trail which is where we take frequent walks. I will try and follow the routine that your dog is used to as close as possible. If you're doggie is staying with us overnight, I will send lots of updates and daily pictures. We don't have any other pets or small children so, the home is quiet and calm. I only sit one dog at a time so your dog will receive our undivided attention while visiting.

About: I absolutely adore animals. I've grown up with dogs my entire life and currently have two cats at home. Previously experienced with caring for my senior dog who had CKD. I have a lot of experience with dogs and cats of different sizes and temperaments as I'm currently working as a vet assistant and studying to be an RVT. I recognize that every pet parent has their individualized way of caring for their pet and I strive to support that. Your furry kid means a lot and you should feel confident and comfortable with their care. I currently work 4 day weeks, 10 hours a day. I have three days throughout the week and nights after work that are available for walks, drop-in visits and pet sitting. I do my best to maintain a safe environment, staying aware of harmful materials, chemicals or products that a pet could get into. Removing or storing these items safely to avoid any negative exposure. Especially for young pets (and labs) that will eat anything.
“Jiaji was a wonderful sitter and communicated with me very well throughout the entire process! I felt reassured that my cats were in good hands with her care and attentiveness in making sure their needs were met. Will definitely book again when I travel in the future :)”

About: Dogs make my heart happy, and so do cats! :) I loved the times that I got to spend and care for my beloved Moki who went to heaven in Dec. 2023. I miss her every single day. I work as a substitute teacher and painting instructor, which provides me with a flexible schedule to pursue my hobbies and interests. One of my passions in life is dogs. I volunteer with Pets in Need by participating in their Doggy Day Out program. Back in high school, I was voted Most Dependable, and I believe I still hold that title dear to heart whether it's with family, work, friends, and clients. I would do my best to make sure your furry best friend gets lots of pets, play, and potty breaks. :) My schedule is pretty flexible since I work as a substitute teacher and painting instructor. “Our senior cat took to Jenna immediately who was very attentive and took care of her wonderfully. She was always quick to respond to any questions. We will be looking to Jenna again the next time we need a pet sitter!”

“Jasmine was a great choice for watching our pets while we were on vacation. She came over a couple of times prior to the trip to make sure that she understood everything and it helped the pets get comfortable with her. While we were gone, she came on time every day and sent plenty of pictures. I would use her services again without a doubt. Thanks Jasmine!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Union City
We were so delighted by the support we got for our two bonded cats! We arrived home to happy cats + a space that was taken better care of than we do ourselves :). We had a longer booking and received lovely reports / photos that were a highlight everyday. I will absolutely book again and recommend to family and friends. Thanks again!

Jill was wonderful. She was so patient with my shy cats and made sure they ate! She also cleaned up after them when they were messy. I really appreciated all the great photos. This was the first time my cats and I had a non family member take care of the cats, and Jill took care of my anxiety as well as my cats’ needs.

Jinhao was a pleasure to work with! I will definitely be booking with him again in the future.

Mila is very sweet, punctual, and flexible to work with. My cats went straight to her during our meet-and-greet, which I had never seen them do with a stranger before. She is a great communicator and took tons of pictures and videos during her visits. My older cat has a history of UTIs, and my other cat occasionally has loose stools, so Mila carefully reported the quality of their pee and poop in the litter box each time. When the weather was warm, she made sure the temperature in the house was comfortable. She has great attention to detail, and my cats love her! Highly recommended!

Minjee was wonderful and provided excellent care to my two cats 😸😸 I really appreciated the detailed reports about daily activity and bowel movements, I was able to relax knowing Minjee was keeping a close eye on my beloved cats! Thank you very much Minjee 😸😻😸😻

This was my first time using Rover and after meet and greets, I chose RJ to come care for my dog, Wyatt. RJ’s communication and pet sitting care are superb. Wyatt is a special needs dog because of his elbow dysplasia, so he needs specific care. RJ followed my instructions and he asked relevant questions when in doubt. He took pictures and videos which gave me assurance that all was well while I was gone and that Wyatt was happy. I will definitely reschedule RJ to care for Wyatt again. Thank you, RJ!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
