About: Currently working from home full time! I own a 4 year old shihtzu terrier named Cooper. He’s a super friendly little guy who gets a long with basically any dog. On my free time I enjoy taking my dog to dog parks and interacting with other dog owners. I have experience handling all types of dogs and sizes. Seeing a dog's tail wag super fast is one of my joys! Aside from working and loving dogs, I do enjoy being a foodie and eating at the newest hot spots that open up. Let me know if there is anything else you need to know about me! Working from home full time so I can drop in to walk your dog during the day time if needed! Otherwise usually available weekends as well. I live in a apartment complex on the first floor so there is some room for your dog to roam around. There is also a dog park nearby.

Francis did such a great job watching our pets while we were on vacation! We have a shy dog and slightly reactive dog and we’re very specific with who we needed to hire. Francis met us twice before our trip to get to know the dogs and while we were away, sent great updates. We were able to have a great time away because of how safe our animals felt with Francis! Highly recommend!

Amy is the best dog sitter we could have asked for. I pride myself on how much I take my dogs on adventures but Amy even surpassed what I do for my own dog! Amy took my dog on numerous wonderful adventures while sending me amazing pictures from their adventures. When Amy left she left a gorgeous hand drawn picture of our dog. I recommend Amy to anyone with a pet that they like and want to leave in good hands. 5 stars. A+ dog sitting! Will hire again!

Always great to have Kevin here! Millie loves him and clearly gets great care and attention from him. Appreciate that when we came back early he offered to still take her on a walk. Definitely helpful for us to get unloaded and settled.

Jenny was absolutely amazing. She came over for a meet and greet and brought both the cats and dogs treats. They instantly loved her. She is very responsive and very good with animals. My two dogs and two cats sat at the door after she left waiting for her to come back. She sends daily updates and took such great care of all of my four-legged kids. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who wants their animals to be well cared for. Thanks again Jenny!

We can’t thank Michelle enough for the incredible care she provided to Hampton during our 12 day trip. This was our first extended vacation since Hampton was recently diagnosed with chf, and leaving him was understandably stressful. From our very first meet and greet, Michelle immediately put us at ease with her kindness, confidence, and genuine love for animals. Hampton now requires medication six times a day, and Michelle never hesitated to take on his complex care routine. She made sure he stayed on schedule, kept us updated with thoughtful messages and photos, and treated him like he was her own. Knowing he was in such capable and compassionate hands allowed us to truly relax and enjoy our vacation. We came home to a happy, healthy pup and a spotless home. Michelle exceeded every expectation, and we would not hesitate to book with her again. If you’re looking for someone who is dependable, attentive, and truly goes above and beyond, Michelle is the one. Thank you again for everything! We are so grateful.

Her messages during the trip were informative, reassuring and had pics to make it easy to know our pups were doing well. We’ll definitely be adding her to who we reach out to for future trips. About: I got my first dog, Cookie, in 2017, but I had birds and fish as pets prior. I took care of most of the toys, treats, food and vet care for him. He is now around 11 and although I've moved out of the family home, I'm helping my parents transition him to senior care level: watching out for his joints and diet mostly. I've since moved in with my partner who has a 4 year old Corgi. He is a friendly, but high energy pup who would benefit from having other dogs around to play with. I sometimes dog sit my family dog with the corgi, so I am well versed in juggling puppy energy and training alongside senior care. I have a hobby photography background, so expect photo updates of your fur babies! 9/7 Mon ( Labor Day): FREE ALL DAY I'm currently mostly available on weekends (Fri, Sat, Sun) and holidays. Only looking to board/daycare one dog at a time right now, just so I don't overwhelm my own dog. May increase to more than one in the future! Mon-Thurs: Daycare/House sitting: None. Boarding: Drop-off after 5pm Drop in visits, dog walking: Nights only, 8pm onwards. Fri/Sat/Sun availability: Usually free all day for all offered services. Limited availability: 8/22: Free 5pm onwards. 8/29: Free 8pm onwards. 8/30: Free 5pm onwards. 9/5 Sat (Labor Day weekend): Free 3pm onwards. 9/6 Sun (Labor Day weekend): Free 6pm onwards. We have basic grooming equipment, if needed, to file nails, shave paw pads, and brush out fur. Weekends, I am able to spend more time with pets, like go on longer walks and visit pet friendly places (if you're ok with that). I have a fenced yard with grass/concrete area and an energetic Corgi for your dog to play with! I'm very respectful in others' homes and will strive to leave everything the way I found it or better. I am super organized and love relying on making to-do lists to keep track of all my tasks and responsibilities. I have a whiteboard dedicated for this at my home, but use my phone when I'm outside or in other's homes. I'm open to both crate trained and not crate-trained dogs. For cats, I make sure the litterbox is always clean and try to play with them if they want. Additionally, I'm always mindful of entering and leaving homes, in case a pet makes an escape attempt through my open door. I'm very detail-oriented, have great communication skills, and take great notes. So I make sure I know exactly the type of care you want for your pet!

We had a fantastic experience with Susie house sitting for our two dogs, one 12 years and the other 3 years. She was great with both of them - our younger guy is usually really hesitant with new people but he warmed up to her immediately. Our older one has some special care requirements and she was very comfortable caring for a senior dog with health issues. She made some time to come by before the stay to meet the boys, go over what they need, and get familiar with their schedules and needs. She was very communicative and sent quite adorable photos and videos while we were gone for the day. I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of a pet sitter!

Mariane took wonderful care of my dog, Linus, over the Fourth of July weekend. Like many dog owners, I was especially concerned about the fireworks and how he would handle them. Throughout his four-day stay, Mariane sent thoughtful updates with photos and videos, which gave me so much peace of mind. Linus was understandably a little scared during the fireworks, but seeing how patient, comforting, and attentive she was reassured me that he was in the best hands. It was clear he felt safe, loved, and genuinely cared for. I came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup, and I’m incredibly grateful for the love and attention Mariane gave him. I wouldn’t hesitate to trust her with Linus again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a compassionate and dependable dog sitter.

Alex was absolutely wonderful with our three animals (two dogs and a cat) and we couldn't recommend him more highly! He was attentive, communicative, and clearly a natural with pets. He went above and beyond in so many ways: he took our dogs on an extra walk after dinner, and when our senior dog got tired, he thoughtfully brought her home to rest while keeping our younger pup out to burn more energy. That kind of awareness and care for each animal's individual needs really stood out to us. He sent plenty of updates throughout the day which gave us total peace of mind, and when we got home the house was just as clean as we left it. All three animals loved him, which says everything. We'll definitely be booking Alex again!

Left for almost four days out of state for my brother wedding. Bella took good care of my animals while I was gone, and would recommend to anyone looking for animal care. FAQs for House Sitting - Carpenter

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Carpenter on Rover is $57.16 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 9,695 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Carpenter. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Carpenter walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Carpenter maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Carpenter choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Carpenter. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
