“Anthony was great with our special girl while we were visiting family over the holidays. He stayed at our home and was very flexible and extremely accommodating for our baby. He sent lots of photos and updates and even took her to the pet store a few times to pick out treats and get a much needed rain coat. She even tried to go home with him when he was leaving when we got home. 😂 I can’t recommend Anthony enough. We already have requested a few re-bookings.”

About: I’ve had cats for about 7 years and have always loved caring for them. I’ve also rescued several kittens and helped find them good homes. One of the reasons I’m majoring in Veterinary Assisting is because I’ve seen how cats are often overlooked, and I want to help give them the care they deserve. I’ll treat your cat like my own and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Since it’s summer, my schedule is very flexible. I do have a part-time job, but my shifts are usually only a few hours long and vary throughout the week. Outside of work, I have plenty of time to care for your pets and give them the attention they deserve. I will make sure your pets are well cared for while you’re away, and I’ll send regular photo updates so you can have peace of mind knowing they’re happy and safe. Your pet’s safety and well-being are always my top priorities. I’m reliable, attentive, and genuinely care about making sure pets are happy and comfortable. I make it a point to check on them regularly, give them plenty of attention, and make sure their needs are met. As a pet owner myself, I understand how important it is to know your pets are in good hands.

“Tori was absolutely wonderful. Our dog is very skittish and does not warm up to people easily, but within minutes of meeting Tori, she was affectionate and clearly comfortable. Tori was incredibly responsive, responsible, proactive, attentive, and respectful throughout the entire stay. She kept us updated, took amazing care of our dog, and treated our home with real care. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing both our dog and house were in such capable hands. We cannot recommend Tori highly enough and are already planning to book her again to stay at our house when we travel later this summer.”

“10 out of 10 she did a tremendous job. Came home my house was spotless you couldn’t even tell she stayed over. Great communication. Even sent me photos of my pups Will definitely read book”

About: Dogs have been part of my life for almost as long as I can remember. I grew up with dogs, and my parents bred and showed Dobermans, so I was surrounded from an early age by thoughtful, consistent dog care and training. With only a few gaps during college and early adulthood, I've had a dog by my side throughout my entire life. I'm currently a dog owner myself, and my dog is very much part of my everyday life. That's also how I approach boarding. Rather than caring for a large group of dogs, I prefer to host one guest at a time so they can settle into our household and receive plenty of individual attention, companionship, walks, play, and affection. I'm home much of the day, so a visiting dog isn't routinely left alone for long stretches. I believe dogs respond best to patience, consistency, clear boundaries, positive interaction, and lots of affection. I also know every dog has its own personality, habits, and comfort level, so I want to learn what makes your dog feel safe and at home. My goal is simple: while you're away, your dog gets to live as a beloved member of the household rather than feeling like they're being sent away to boarding. I work primarily from home, and my own dog is already my near-constant companion, so caring for another dog fits very naturally into my daily life. When I board a dog, my intention is for them to join our household and our routine rather than spend long stretches of the day alone. That means plenty of companionship, regular walks and outdoor time, play, relaxation, and, when it's appropriate for the individual dog, coming along with us on dog-friendly outings. I take my own dog with me frequently and am happy to do the same with a guest who enjoys it. Most importantly, I adjust the routine to the dog. Some dogs love being out and about; others are happiest relaxing somewhere familiar and quiet. During their stay, I pay attention to what makes them comfortable and adapt accordingly. I want each dog in my care to feel safe, included, and genuinely at home while their family is away. Safety starts with making sure a dog is a good fit for our home. Before a first stay, I prefer to meet with you and your dog and introduce them to my dog so we can make sure everyone is comfortable together. I strive to understand your dog's normal routine, personality, feeding and walking schedule, house rules, medications or special needs, and anything that makes them anxious, excited, or especially happy. I follow your instructions and try to keep familiar routines consistent while adapting to what I observe during the stay. I host only one guest dog at a time, which allows me to give them plenty of individual attention and closely monitor how they're settling in. I use leashes and secure handling outdoors, keep food and other potential sources of conflict managed carefully, and never assume that two dogs who get along well don't still need thoughtful supervision. Most importantly, I pay attention. Dogs communicate constantly through their behavior, and I want to notice when a guest is relaxed, uncomfortable, tired, excited, or needs something different. My goal is to provide a safe, calm home where your dog can become part of the family while they're in my care.
“Natalie was amazing! She took great care of the dogs, including a troublesome puppy, and was super respectful of the house, the schedule, and our time! She took the request last-minute which was great and she was flexible and experienced with handling my dogs’ varying energy levels. She also contacted me right away when there was an issue and handled it like a pro! Would definitely book again & recommend.”

About: Animals have always been a passion of mine. I have over 11 years on and off and 5 years of hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats. I've worked as a veterinary assistant in multiple settings, including a feline-focused practice and a facility that specialized in dog boarding and walking. These experiences taught me how to safely handle animals with different personalities, energy levels, medical needs, and comfort levels. Because of my veterinary background, I'm comfortable recognizing changes in behavior, stress, discomfort, and potential health concerns. I understand the importance of routine, patience, and positive interactions, and I strive to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owner is away. Whether your pet needs an energetic walk, playtime, medication support, extra attention, or simply a calm and reliable companion, I'll treat them with the same love and respect I would my own. My goal is to provide dependable care and give pet parents peace of mind knowing their furry family member is in good hands. I currently work full time at the zoo so my time is limited to before and after work and my weekends but I will do what I need to to meet your needs. I will always follow the owners instructions to a T and even go above and beyond to try and ease the clients worries in whatever ways I need to.
“Demi was a great house sitter for my dog Meatball! She was respectful of the house, gave us great updates and showed him a lot of love. We would definitely use her again!”

About: I have worked in a dog boarding facility, always taking care to clients both humans and pets including love and care of all. Feeding, bathing, love and tender care are just some of the things I have done here as well as care for elderly, pups, and disabled dogs. I am pretty open and available throughout the week and weekends. I do have my own cat so I need to make sure I tend to them some time in the day. Safety, care, and love as well always on alert for danger or potential threats. I am always putting my all in and love building rapport and relations with my clients for best outcome and safety.
“Giselle did a great job house sitting for our dog over the weekend. Our dog seemed minimally stressed (we just moved and it’s hard for him to be in a new environment), she sent great updates, and left the house clean. Will definitely use her again!”

“Ariena took great care of our pup while we were away. She sent lots of photos to help with my “mom guilt” so I knew that he was being well cared for. She stayed at our place and she left it well cared for! I will definitely be using her again for our future pet sitting needs!”

About: I’ve spent three years caring for dogs through walking and sitting, providing safe, loving, reliable support tailored to each pup’s personality, routine, and comfort needs. With lots of free time in my daily routine, I’m able to focus fully on each dog I care for, providing steady attention, enrichment, and a peaceful, supervised environment. I provide a safe, reliable home where dogs can relax and feel supported. With frequent potty breaks, daily walks, and attentive supervision, your pup stays comfortable, happy, and well‑monitored.

About: I got my first dog, Cookie, in 2017, but I had birds and fish as pets prior. I took care of most of the toys, treats, food and vet care for him. He is now around 11 and although I've moved out of the family home, I'm helping my parents transition him to senior care level: watching out for his joints and diet mostly. I've since moved in with my partner who has a 4 year old Corgi. He is a friendly, but high energy pup who would benefit from having other dogs around to play with. I sometimes dog sit my family dog with the corgi, so I am well versed in juggling puppy energy and training alongside senior care. I have a hobby photography background, so expect photo updates of your fur babies! 9/7 Mon ( Labor Day): FREE ALL DAY I'm currently mostly available on weekends (Fri, Sat, Sun) and holidays. Only looking to board/daycare one dog at a time right now, just so I don't overwhelm my own dog. May increase to more than one in the future! Mon-Thurs: Daycare/House sitting: None. Boarding: Drop-off after 5pm Drop in visits, dog walking: Nights only, 8pm onwards. Fri/Sat/Sun availability: Usually free all day for all offered services. Limited availability: 8/22: Free 5pm onwards. 8/29: Free 8pm onwards. 8/30: Free 5pm onwards. 9/5 Sat (Labor Day weekend): Free 3pm onwards. 9/6 Sun (Labor Day weekend): Free 6pm onwards. We have basic grooming equipment, if needed, to file nails, shave paw pads, and brush out fur. Weekends, I am able to spend more time with pets, like go on longer walks and visit pet friendly places (if you're ok with that). I have a fenced yard with grass/concrete area and an energetic Corgi for your dog to play with! I'm very respectful in others' homes and will strive to leave everything the way I found it or better. I am super organized and love relying on making to-do lists to keep track of all my tasks and responsibilities. I have a whiteboard dedicated for this at my home, but use my phone when I'm outside or in other's homes. I'm open to both crate trained and not crate-trained dogs. For cats, I make sure the litterbox is always clean and try to play with them if they want. Additionally, I'm always mindful of entering and leaving homes, in case a pet makes an escape attempt through my open door. I'm very detail-oriented, have great communication skills, and take great notes. So I make sure I know exactly the type of care you want for your pet!
“We had a great experience with our dog /house sitter, Julia! She was reliable, caring, and kept us updated with photos and messages throughout the stay. She also kept our home clean and treated it with respect. It was clear our dog was happy, well cared for, and received plenty of attention and love. We felt completely at ease knowing our pet was in such good hands. We would definitely recommend her and would happily book with her again!”

About: I pet cared for my family and friends when they go out of town. I also have pet cared for two liters of golden doodle puppies. I have a very flexible schedule when it comes to pet care. I'm a current student talking online classes. Open to weekends and holidays if needed. I treat every pet as if they were my own and always follow the owner's care instructions closely. I make sure pets have fresh water, are fed on schedule, get plenty of exercise and attention, and stay in a safe, clean environment. I pay close attention to their behavior and comfort thought the time I will be watching them. If I am in a clients home, I respect their space, keep everything tidy, and maintain the pet's normal routine. Safety is my top priority, so I always use secure leashes during walks, keep doors and gates closed, and never leave pets unattended in unsafe situations.
“Jesika and Jyhikeen sat for our 3 rambunctious cats for 10 days, and were wonderful! Great, caring communication, daily photos, and we came home to a clean house and happy cats. We'd absolutely hire them again.”

“My chihuahua and sisters German shepherd/black lab mix loved having Angelique stay with them during our weekend away. Angelique was so kind to do a visit ahead of time, was very communicative, and organized her schedule around our dogs. My dog loves to cuddle and definitely got all of the love from Angelique. We’d love to have her back to stay at our place with cooper in the future.”

Laura went above and beyond to care for our pets. She sent clear daily updates, handled their feeding and care instructions with total precision, and left our home in fantastic shape. Finding someone this reliable and caring is a huge relief. 10/10 recommendation for anyone looking for a top tier sitter!

Julia is wonderful. She was very quick to respond, reliable and trustworthy. She took the very best care of my aging dog Loki and kept her happy while I was away. I got home and Loki was smiling ear to ear! Julia kept the house super clean, sent lots of updates and was awesome all around. Thanks Julia

I’m so thankful to have Brenda as my dog walker/sitter! My two boys love her and she is great with them. She sends me pictures of the dogs during their walks and when she feeds them or gives them. She is a great communicator and she is very reliable. She is someone you can trust with your fur-babies!

Alisha did a wonderful job caring for our two dogs while we were overseas for two weeks. This was our first time hiring a house sitter, and were a bit anxious about leaving our pups (a 9 month old and a 16 year old) with a new person, but Alisha's friendliness and professionalism made us feel comfortable right away. Everything went smoothly, we received regular updates and responses to our communications. When we came home the house was sparkling and the pups were happy! We will definitely be repeat customers!

We are so happy to have connected with Jamie who provided house-sitting care for our daughter’s husky-malamute mix, Kazami. Jaime was caring and attentive to Kazami, who at 2.5 years old is energetic and loves the attention! Jamie walked, fed, and played with her, and was an absolute pleasure to work with. Our family can wholeheartedly recommend Jaime!

Kimberly is an amazing dog sitter and house sitter!! She is great with communication and providing multiple daily updates to make us feel comfortable knowing our dogs are being taken great care of. She has watched our pups a couple times now and we’ve been very happy with her services! She also takes great care of the home too!

This was a fantastic experience and all due to the care and communication we had with Siu Kei K. He was on punctual, did a great job caring for our pet, sent lots of pics and we were able to relax. Rover should take note of how much Siu Kei K. has earned our trust through his kindness with us and our pet, and his professionalism. I really can't recommend Siu Kei K. enough. Anyone interested in getting a pet cared for should put Siu Kei K. at the top of their list. We will be using Siu Kei K. again in the near future if he is available! Ken
Kayla was for a week our in-home cat sitter and she was pure magic. She is the cat-sitter equivalent of Mary Poppins—truly beyond compare. As anxious pet parents of needy cats , we were looking for someone who could handle specific routines and provide constant, loving care. Kayla exceeded every expectation. • Exceptional Cat Care: She treated our cats like her very own, building a wonderful relationship with them and ensuring they were happy and stress-free. She followed all of our detailed instructions perfectly, managing our cats' needs. • Above and Beyond: Kayla didn't just meet our expectations; she went above and beyond. Not only did she care for the cats, but she also took immaculate care of our home, leaving it as neat and tidy as when we left. • Peace of Mind: She was a pro at managing our pet-parent anxiety, providing timely updates and clearly demonstrating her dedication. We can't recommend Kayla enough. If you are looking for a trustworthy and absolutely amazing sitter who will treat your pets and your home with the utmost respect, look no further. We will absolutely be booking her again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in San Lorenzo on Rover is $69.55 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 9,532 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across San Lorenzo. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred San Lorenzo walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in San Lorenzo maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in San Lorenzo choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in San Lorenzo. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
