My schedule typically revolves around the needs of those under my care. I usually accommodate most requests and have no problems with last-minute changes. and please know there is no such thing as asking too much of your sitter as a pet parent.

In my home they will have full access to the backyard, and we take walks around the neighborhood. The neighborhood is located not far from parks, trails, and hike spots. I'm more than happy to accommodate your and your pet's needs if they’re on any particular schedules for walks, feeding, etc. All precautions are taken to prevent the preventable. I’m constantly observing body language and recognizing normal vs. abnormal behavior (because they don’t speak!) I watch for any cues and triggers that I’m aware of that could make anything less fun for them. I strive to always take a mindful, cautious, and observant approach with every visit. There are other dogs in my home. August is super friendly, he’s 5 years old and makes a great play partner if your pup enjoys playing with other dogs. I also frequently take on pups that are not social and prefer to have human interaction only. While there might be other dogs in the house, their peace can be ensured with no pup meetings if you prefer. I have plenty of toys, blankets, bowls, and treats, but you’re always more than welcome to provide your own or something that is yours that may soothe your pup as it reminds them of home. In your home, you make the rules of course. I respect your place as I would mine, and then some. Honestly I just need to know where the supplies, preferred cleaning tools, and where the off-limits areas are and we are good to go.

Information Alisha A. would like to know about your pet
Please inform me in advance of the following so I can make the best accommodation possible: - allergies (food, environmental, etc) - if they prefer alone time time vs. socializing with dogs or people - medications and their meds schedule - play restrictions - triggers (toy/food guarding, stress-chewing, etc) - health conditions that need extra monitoring - if they are not vaccinated and/or have had any communicable illness within a couple weeks prior to their stay (safety first!) - if they are not spayed or neutered - any other relevant info that could help make your pet and YOU more comfortable and relaxed. Most importantly - what makes your pet their happiest self? If it takes a while for your critter to warm up to new people, a meet and greet is probably best before a booking :)
A typical day
Keeping them stimulated and engaged is key to having a tired and happy pup by the end of the day. If they like walks and hikes, let’s do that. If they’re of the couch potato variety we can do Dog TV and chill. If they like it, I love it.

Pet care experience
Use my code ALISHA13790 to get $20 off your first Rover booking :D You might notice from my gallery that I’m obsessed with taking pics of all the critters I get to hang out with. Expect a lot of those 😂 I’m a full-time pet care professional, and have experience as a vet assistant in the ER, being a dependable and trusted walker and sitter for several years, and have worked in dog daycare/boarding facilities in all departments. I have experience with small, medium, large and XL breeds and am happy to work with all dogs regardless of breed or temperament. I and my work are all insured through both Rover and my personal pet care provider insurance. :) I am available most of the day outside of booked dog walks and check-ins. If your dog is social, with your approval they're more than welcome to socialize with other pups or come out for walks and hikes. Giving you peace of mind while you’re away is just as important to me as keeping your pets safe, healthy, and happy.

Reviews

Alisha is absolutely wonderful. She took excellent care of our 16-year-old kitty girl. We lost her brother late last year and this was the first time Desie would be on her own during a trip. Alisha took patient effort to make sure she ate and sent plenty of pictures so we could see how our beloved little girl monster was doing. I really felt like I left my cat in the care of someone who loves her as much as I do. 100/10 will absolutely book again for a trip later this year.

Alisha is a wonderful pet sitter who went above and beyond to care for our cat. She’s punctual, communicative, and caring. We will absolutely hire her again!

Alisha did a wonderful job caring for our two dogs while we were overseas for two weeks. This was our first time hiring a house sitter, and were a bit anxious about leaving our pups (a 9 month old and a 16 year old) with a new person, but Alisha's friendliness and professionalism made us feel comfortable right away. Everything went smoothly, we received regular updates and responses to our communications. When we came home the house was sparkling and the pups were happy! We will definitely be repeat customers!

Alisha was SO great. My pet sitter got sick and she was available in such a short period of time. She came over and did an extensive meet and greet with my scardey boy and it was immediately clear how much she loves and cares for animals. Despite my skiddish baby being a no show for most of her visits she confirmed proof of life, eating, and drinking. Even noting the new impressions on the bed and the whiskers in the bowl. Would highly recommend and book again!
