When boarding or house sitting I provide a 30 minute walk in the morning and in the evening (or if your dog is especially energetic, a jog!). For the especially energetic, on weekends we take an hour-long walk/run/play/train at a large park! A favorite of my regulars is the small park a few blocks away, where there is a big field and plenty of squirrels! I also conduct 2-3 spontaneous obedience training sessions in 5 minute blocks. This helps refresh their training and is a great way for us to get acquainted and have fun together! For day care and drop ins, I include 1-2 walks and training sessions if requested!

I live with my husband and our two dogs in San Leandro, CA. We are HUGE dog lovers and love to meet new pups and keep them safe and happy while their owners are away. One of our dogs is a big fan of new dogs and loves to be chased. The other needs to be introduced slowly since she is fearful at first, but once she is comfortable, she loves to wrestle and play tug of war! For In-Home visits, I do my best to keep your typical routine regarding food, attention, exercise, and sleep. My goal is for your pets to feel relaxed and happy for the entire stay! If your dog has trouble with new dogs, I have plenty of space in my home to keep the dogs separate either in bedrooms, crated, or partitioned in sections of the house. Regardless of temperament, I never leave dogs together unsupervised. Please let me know your dog’s triggers and anxieties, and I will make sure they are comfortable and stress-free!

Information Julia P. would like to know about your pet
I recommend that you provide your own leash and collar, food, treats/chews/bones, bed, blanket, and toys for your dog. I can provide a crate if needed. PLEASE ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS TRUTHFULLY. ANY FALSE STATEMENTS THAT RESULT IN DAMAGE TO PROPERTY OR INJURIES WILL RESULT IN EARLY DISMISSAL AND/OR AN ADDITIONAL FINE. 1. Is your dog house-trained? How many hours do they normally wait in between potty breaks? 2. Is your dog crate trained? 3. How do they interact with other dogs - Friendly/Aloof/Avoidant/Aggressive)? 4. What behavioral issues or quirks do they have? (e.g. excessive barking, separation anxiety, digging, chewing, food/toy guarding). Does your dog have any triggers I should be aware of that cause this behavior? 5. Does your dog have any allergies, food or otherwise? 6. Please provide any prescription medication your dog needs as well as instructions for administration. 7. Please administer flea medication to your dog prior to boarding.
A typical day
On weekends I enjoy taking dogs for walks around Marina Park. At home I often use chicken breast or lamb recipe kibble as treats for our fun and engaging training sessions! With belly rubs, wrestling, running, and cuddles, by the end of the day your pup will be happily curled up and snoozing on a soft bed.

Reviews

Julia and Michael have been amazing with our girl Bubba and have always been flexible when we’ve had early or late pickups for her. Bubba absolutely loves coming over and playing with their dog, Cas and always gets excited as soon as we pull up to their place!

Julia is great! She’s considerate and communicative. Can’t ask for more

She is a total sweetie and very accommodating! My dog can get shy and anxious around new people and other dogs and Julia took great care of her adapting to what will work best to ease some of my girls anxiety. Sent lots of pictures and updates as well, we already booked her for more overnights as well as drop ins! She is very flexible with her schedule and meeting her clients needs. Thank you Julia!

Julia is very patient with my senior pup and is taking the time and care to get to know her. We are very thankful to have someone we can trust!
