“Thanks for your help !! It was a great pet visit and I could tell the pets were well cared for and happy when we returned!! Very nice work! Thanks again! I would book again for sure !”

About: I’ve spent much of my life caring for animals and genuinely love earning their trust. In high school, I worked in dog and cat boarding at a local veterinary practice, where I gained hands on experience caring for pets with different personalities, temperaments, and needs. Since then, I’ve continued pet and house sitting for friends, family, and clients, volunteered with shelter dogs and cats through the PSPCA, and cared for a wide variety of animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, iguanas, ducks, quail, chickens, and fish. After spending the past eight months traveling and pet sitting, I’ve recently made the Bay Area my home. While I’m new to Rover, I’m not new to caring for pets. My goal is simple: to give you peace of mind while you’re away. I’ll care for your pets like family, communicate thoughtfully, and leave your home just as clean and cared for as you left it. My schedule is currently very flexible! I am especially interested in connecting with those in need of in home sitters while I am traveling, but open to day time walks and visits as well. I am a former real estate broker, used to have my own small business. I am taking some time out to work on my art, learn some tech skills, and travel. I am not able to care for pets in my home at this time as my apartment would require a hefty deposit. I am looking forward to working and traveling while using this app!
“Melissa was very easy to communicate and clearly cared about our cats, playing and sending a lot of great photos. We recommend Melissa for taking care of your pets while you are away”

“Brandi was sent from heaven to help us take care of Shasta - we will be booking her again the next time we need help, and if you’re reading this, you should too. She was very patient with Shasta’s hesitation around a new person taking her for walks, beyond accommodating to our schedules, and just the best person we could have had looking after our little pup.”

“Vania was awesome!!! I needed someone last minute and she came through. She was great with my two pitbulls and treated them like queens. She was always on time and very communicative with pictures. I strongly recommend and will be using her in the future.”

“Kit cared for our two cats while we were out of state on vacation. She did an excellent job! Some of the care instructions were a bit complicated due to one cat needing medication and having to keep the cats’ feeding stations separate. Kit was terrific at following the instructions and also giving the kitties lots of warm and loving attention. Kit really inspires confidence. We would be happy to have her back the next time we’re away. Thank you, Kit, for giving us peace of mind that our furry family members were in good hands!”

“Elyse took care of my two kittens for just under two weeks and did an amazing job. She was super reliable and communicative. The kittens seemed healthy, happy and relaxed when I got home, so it was obvious they were in good hands. Would definitely request for her help again in the future.”
“Vicki was amazing taking care of my two elder guinea pigs while I went out of town. Unfortunately, one of my guinea pigs fell ill right before I left and was left with six various medications. Vicki was great at following instructions, asking questions, and letting me know about any behavioral changes. I was definitely thrown a lot of curveballs, and Vicki handled them like a champ. I would definitely recommend!”

“Hadlee did a wonderful job for us taking care of our dog Bella. She is competent, thoughtful, responsible, and was great with Bella, who is a big, senior dog with some mobility issues and, to be candid, not great with strangers. I would rebook Hadlee without hesitation.”

About: I love taking care of dogs and have enjoyed walking and feeding my family and friends' dogs for several years. They bring me so much joy! Due to my frequent travel for work, I'm unable to have a dog of my own at the moment. I work from home, so your dog and I can keep each other company, take breaks together, and enjoy walks during my lunch breaks. I live in a secure, dog-friendly condo building. While I don't have a backyard, your dog will be very safe and well cared for. Here's a good answer to that question: Pet care is a rewarding part of my daily and weekly routine. I make sure to carve out time each day to engage with the pets I care for, whether it's through walks, playtime, or simple companionship. Since I work from home, I can easily integrate pet care into my schedule, taking breaks to ensure the pet is comfortable, fed, and entertained. I also ensure the pet gets regular outdoor walks, play sessions, and any special attention they need. Whether it's during my lunch breaks or after work, pet care is a priority, and it brings me a lot of joy! I prioritize safety, trust, and a comfortable environment when caring for pets in my home or a client’s home. In my home, I ensure the space is secure and pet-friendly, with no hazards or areas where a pet could get into trouble. I keep the environment calm and peaceful, offering a cozy space where pets can relax. I also maintain a consistent routine for feeding, play, and walks to help pets feel safe and comfortable. When caring for pets in a client's home, I make sure to follow their routine and respect their preferences for care. I always communicate with pet owners about any specific instructions or needs their pet might have. I make sure to secure any doors, gates, and windows and create a safe, welcoming space for their pet to enjoy while they’re away.
About: We adore animals of all kinds. We have hardwood floors for accidents, and filtered water. We have a fenced yard for running around with our kids and potty, always allow indoor access, and we don’t leave your pet alone. James has volunteered at the Dog Shelter for years, has CPR/Rescue training(for humans) and an understanding of CPR and first aid for dogs. After many years of dog sitting, we've welcomed a variety of different dogs (around 50+ at last count) into our home. We have administered eye creams, injections, and many other medicines. We don't clip nails. We are happy to send pictures and videos and even facetime or video chat by request. James works from home, and we typically go for two walks a day so we are always happy to have a guest pet with us. We have thoughtfully organized our home to avoid dangerous substances, escape issues, and to ensure maximum joy and safety! We would love to give you a tour during a meet and greet.
About: What sets me apart is the love and care I bring to every pet, shaped by the bond I had with my dog Mongoose, who passed away last year. She taught me how much trust and comfort pets give us and how much they deserve in return. I treat every animal like I would treat her—with patience, affection, and real attention to their needs. I’ll care for your pet like they’re family, because to me, they are. I’m a graduating senior with a full summer ahead, so I have lots of time and flexibility to care for your pet. With no school during the summer, I can focus on giving your pet plenty of attention, exercise, and love every day. I follow your pet’s usual routine to keep them comfortable—feeding, walking, playtime, and any special needs. I make sure they get plenty of attention and stay safe in their familiar environment. I also keep the home tidy and send you updates so you know how they’re doing.
“Xinyi was fantastic! We asked her to visit our cat a few times while we were out of town to check on him, fill his food and water and empty his litter box. She always sent us pictures and an update on how our cat was doing. She was easy to work with and was prompt with communication. We would definitely book her again!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Moraga
Kit was an excellent cat sitter. I have 2 cats with various medical needs and Kit was comfortable with giving my cat his inhaler, plus liquid medicine for both cats as well as carrying out complicated feeding routines. She was able to deal with my very snotty cat, which is no easy task. I would not hesitate to hire kit again!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
