Safety, trust & environment

In both my home and my client's home, I prioritize safety, trust, and creating a comfortable environment for pets. First, I ensure the area is pet-proofed, removing any potential hazards. I provide a safe, quiet space for pets to rest, with all their necessities like food, water, and bedding easily accessible. I maintain a regular routine for feeding, playtime, and exercise, which helps pets feel secure and comfortable. Trust is key, so I build a strong relationship with the pets by being consistent, patient, and attentive to their individual needs. I also ensure their environment is clean, calm, and enriching, with plenty of toys and mental stimulation to keep them engaged.

Information Ying X. would like to know about your pet

It’s very important to know specific details about the pets ahead of time to ensure their care is tailored to their needs. Here are some key things to learn: 1. Health and Medication: Any allergies, medical conditions, or medications the pet requires, along with the timing and dosage for medication. Knowing their health history is crucial for safety. 2. Dietary Requirements: The type of food, portion sizes, feeding schedule, and any dietary restrictions or preferences the pet may have. 3. Behavioral Preferences: Understanding if the pet has any fears, triggers, or behavioral quirks, such as sensitivity to loud noises or dislike of certain types of handling. 4. Exercise and Activity Level: The pet's energy level and preferred activities. Some pets might enjoy long walks, while others prefer short play sessions or indoor activities. 5. Routine and Schedule: Familiarizing yourself with the pet’s daily routine, including feeding times, bathroom breaks, nap times, and any special activities that are part of their normal day. 6. Socialization Preferences: How the pet interacts with strangers, other animals, or children, which helps ensure they are comfortable in different situations.

A typical day

A typical day as a pet sitter involves a mix of routine care and engaging activities to ensure the pets are happy and healthy. In the morning, I'll start by feeding and providing fresh water for the pets, ensuring they’re comfortable. After that, we'll usually go for a walk or spend some time playing in the yard, depending on their energy level and preferences. Throughout the day, I'll monitor their behavior, give them attention, and play interactive games like fetch, tug-of-war, or puzzle toys to keep their minds active. For more active pets, we may go on longer walks or runs, while others might enjoy some quiet time with gentle petting or training sessions. I will also make sure their living space is clean, and if needed, I’ll administer any medication as directed by the owner. In the evening, after another round of feeding and bathroom breaks, I’ll spend more quality time with the pets, whether it’s playing with their favorite toy or simply sitting with them to provide companionship. If the pets enjoy it, we might even watch TV together or wind down with some calm cuddling before bed. Throughout the day, I always keep an eye on their safety and well-being, making sure they have everything they need to feel comfortable and loved.
