“Julia has been amazing! She went above and beyond while taking care of my cats. She made sure they were loved and she also helped give one of my cats medication while I was gone, but I never expected her to clean! She even vacuumed and cleaned! I cannot thank her enough for taking such good care of my cats and my house!”

About: I have been raising cats & dogs since I was 6. My first ever dog was a high macitence husky mix from a shelter who needed extra care for his anxiety, and since I’ve raised two corgis. I adore all dogs big and small, and can’t wait to meet yours! I’m currently working part time, but my schedule is pretty flexible! I am on summer break before college until September when I’ll move to SoCal. I am adaptable to any sort of pet care needed as I’ve taken care of many different animals throughout my life with different needs. I like getting to know the dog’s personalities & habits so I can best assist them, and can always bring treats or other things from home!
“Courtney is wonderful! We have very anxious dogs and she did an amazing job giving them individual care to ensure they were comfortable, safe and cared for while we were out of town. She is highly communicative and thoughtful. Would definitely book again!”

“As always, I know I can count on Lara’s support. She is very reliable, a great communicator, and Frankie loves her! Don’t hesitate to reach out to her for help with your furry kids!”

“I loved having Elizabeth check on my babies while I traveled for the holidays. She was very kind and communicative! I felt she was very personable, yet still professional. I felt at ease knowing they were being cared for by Elizabeth. I will definitely be using her in the future!”

About: Hey there! 🐾 I've been surrounded by pets all my life, so caring for furry friends comes naturally to me. When I'm not at the elementary school where I work, you can find me enjoying the outdoors, often with a canine companion by my side. I'm excited to meet your pets and provide them with the love and attention they deserve plus gain some daily morning exercise while walking your dog! I'm looking to be able to walk dogs early in the morning before my Kids' Country job around 10am. If possible, I can do drop in visits afterward 6:30pm. I'm fully available Saturday and Sunday. I have a fenced in yard to give dogs some freedom, but I am looking to give dogs walks as often as possible around the Danville/ Alamo/ Blackhawk and San Ramon areas.
“Rachael was punctual, great with communication, and took cute photos of our boys. She seems to have a lot of experience and wasn't intimidated by our younger dog that can be a handful. We look forward to having her come again!”

“My dog is so happy when Bar shows up at our door! Zibby gets good exercise and is always panting when she gets home, which is literally what the doctor ordered! Zibby loves her and what more could you ask for?”

About: My name is Kelly and I’ve been caring for pups for 5 years, and behavior coach and trainer for 2. My passions focus on giving each pup the best experience, whether that’s through enrichment games, cuddles, or extra walks. You’ll feel like you never left with plenty of pupdates I’ll send your way. In my free time, you’ll find me training at the rescue and helping pups find their furever homes or working with kids. I provide a hands-on experience with my pups I care for, anticipating that I’ll work with various ages or needs. I can be as involved as you need me. Unfortunately my pet boardings are on hold for now. I currently provide house sittings, walks, and drop-ins. When house-sitting, I always treat my clients home as if it’s my own and more, always making it better than I found it. I want owners to return home feeling refreshed with clean and calm home.
“Vicki was amazing taking care of my two elder guinea pigs while I went out of town. Unfortunately, one of my guinea pigs fell ill right before I left and was left with six various medications. Vicki was great at following instructions, asking questions, and letting me know about any behavioral changes. I was definitely thrown a lot of curveballs, and Vicki handled them like a champ. I would definitely recommend!”

“I had a last-minute need for someone to check in on my dog due to a flight delay, and Hailey truly saved the day! She responded quickly, was flexible and reliable, and kept me updated throughout the entire process to ensure my dog was well cared for. I’m so grateful to Hailey for stepping in on such short notice and would highly recommend her for any future pet sitting needs. Thank you, Hailey!”

“Stephanie was absolutely wonderful with our cat, Walter. She took care of him over the holidays and was very communicative with us the entire time. Our little kitty tweaked his paw while we were away and she kept us updated 100% of the time and fielded all of our questions. She game planned with us and made sure he was taken care of. She made us feel so comfortable while we were away and we knew he was in good hands. I couldn’t say more positive things about her. She’s awesome & kind. We will definitely be rebooking in the future.”

About: I grew up surrounded by animals, with a dad who’s a farmer and a home full of furry (and sometimes feathery) companions. From a young age, I dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, and while life took me down a different path, my love and passion for animals never changed. These days, I enjoy walking and carrying for dogs. There's something special about just being present with them. I’m also a proud mom to two animal-loving girls (ages 8 and 10), and together we dream of having a house full of animals... if only we had the space! I am self employed so I can set my own hours. I love to be outside. I walk my own dog everyday. Happy to take animals on walks, play with my own dog or even go on a hike. I live on ½ an acre with lots of grass and a fenced in backyard. We live right near the Iron Horse Trail so walks are encouraged. =)
About: I have always had pets my entire life, spanning from raising puppies to caring for my senior disabled dog! Animals are a blessing to me! I’m a college student home for summer looking to boost my experience working with pets! I have a very flexible/ open daily and weekly schedule. I give pets my undivided attention, and understand the importance of keeping them safe and healthy! I want to keep your pet happy and comfortable :)

Brooke just took care of our 3 cats and did a fantastic job. She was here on each day we requested, sent photos and made sure our fur babies had everything they needed including some much needed affection. She is really great with animals. I highly recommend her.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Alamo. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
