“Our dog took an immediate liking to Lara. It was the first time in 12 years we left him overnight. Lara kept us updated with pictures and comments. Made us feel at ease so we could enjoy our mini vacation. Got back to a happy dog and all is well.”

“Courtney is fantastic! She walks Summer during the week for me, and I couldn't be happier. She is reliable, communicative, and Summer absolutely loves her. Highly recommend!”

About: Hello! My name is Allie. I’m a lifelong dog lover, owner, and trainer. I come from Washington state where I was raised with dogs of all kinds. For the last few years, I professionally trained and also trained law-enforcement canines. I actively compete with my dog in a sport called Schutzhund. I am extremely confident with all kinds of dogs- from tiny ones, to the giant breeds! If you have a sport dog that you need handled by an experienced working dog handler, I can absolutely help you out. I am an extremely competent and safe handler and look forward to helping you out with your pups! Right now, I am a stay at home dog mom who is always training and working my dog. I have a highly flexible schedule and would love to help you out! I have an awesome yard that your dogs are welcomed to play in on a long line. I also have a very sweet intact male dog who is a friend to all, if your dog likes others! I have crates available if your dog needs one. I exercise and train my dog daily, so your dog’s needs can easily be tended to. I have plenty of experience with working dogs, so I understand the implications of handling them (detection, apprehension, sport). Your pup will be extremely safe and well cared for!
“Alexandra is a wonderful dog walker. Our Dog Sadie loves her. She is very conscientious and on time. We feel very comfortable leaving our dog in her care! Highly recommend!!!”

About: I have had dogs my entire life and several cats in my earlier years. I love animals and would love to help you with your furry friends. I am not currently working so I do have more free time to help out. I do have an older dog but she is a big sleeper so not as much energy. I would care for the pets as if they were my own. Giving them all the love and attention they need. Walks or trips to the park, or just simply being there for company.

About: I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember and have been pet sitting for over 10 years. I’m also a proud pet parent to two cats and a dog, so I know firsthand how much our pets mean to us and how important it is to have someone you can truly trust with them. I’ve cared for all kinds of dogs and cats over the years, and I really enjoy getting to know each pet’s unique personality. Whether your pup needs a long walk and lots of playtime, your cat wants some attention and cuddles, or your pet just needs someone around to keep them company, I’m happy to help. I treat every pet like they’re my own and always do my best to keep them comfortable, happy, and on their normal routine while you’re away. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can relax knowing your pet is being taken care of! I’m currently in school so I have a lot of flexibility for drop in visits throughout the day! I’m available during the week as well as weekends. I care for pets in their own homes, keeping their routines comfortable and familiar. I provide feeding, walks, playtime, cuddles, and plenty of attention while keeping their space clean and secure.
“My German Shepard absolutely loves Katja. Katja is just amazing with him. He waits patiently at the door for her to show up to take him on walks every single time. It’s super adorable! Katja is so kind, fun and responsible. We love her and feel so lucky to have found her.”

About: I've been a sitter on this platform for several years. Serving the California Bay Area, and internationally (Thailand and Japan so far!) I've had mostly small to medium dogs and cats for years as family pets, also have experience with chickens and rodents (my kids had pet rats for years). I do not currently have pets, as am doing the van life thing and don't feel it would be right to have my own pet at this time, however I truly miss having pets, prompting me to sign up for pet sitting! I'm currently retired-van living full time in the East Bay CA area, so right now just available for house/pet sitting & dog walking at your home. Responsible, mature care giver for your pet in your home, following all rules and instructions left by the pet owner. Please let me know of your pets special needs before booking.
About: Hi! Im Caitlin! I have had dogs my whole life. I have lots of experience caring for my dogs as well as others that i take care of. I started dog walking in middle school, and have started to do more dogsitting! I have experience with many different breeds of dogs, big and small! I am currently a college student. Besides attending classes, i have lots of free time to take care of dogs and take them for walks! I always pay attention to the pets and make sure they are happy, but also being safe. While walking, i always keep them on leash and away from the cars driving by. While in the house, i do my best to keep an eye on them and give them lots of pets and get their energy out!
About: I have lots of experience caring for dogs and truly love them like my own babies. I even bottle-fed newborn puppies when their mom couldn’t, and spending time with dogs always brings me joy they mean so much to me! Pet care fits into my weekly routine as a priority—I make sure to set aside dedicated time to walk, feed, and give attention to the pets, making their well-being and happiness a regular part of my day. I would care for someone else’s dog by making sure they feel safe and comfortable, following their usual routine for feeding, walks, and playtime. I’d give them lots of attention and affection, watch for any signs they need, and keep their environment clean and calm.
About: What sets me apart as a sitter is my hands-on experience with dogs of all ages, especially those who need patience, structure, and understanding. I have a strong background in caring for both young, high-energy dogs and senior pets who require a gentler, more attentive approach. Over the years, I’ve adopted and cared for shelter dogs, including one of my most meaningful experiences: transforming my 3-year-old German Shepherd who came from an abusive and neglected background. She was fearful, submissive, and untrained when I first brought her home. Through consistent training, positive reinforcement, and a calm, stable environment, she gradually became a confident, obedient, affectionate, and deeply trusting companion. She is now 15 years old and remains a living example of the patience and care I bring to every animal I work with. This experience has taught me how to read animal behavior, build trust with nervous or reactive dogs, and adapt care to each pet’s unique needs. Whether it’s helping a young dog learn structure and good habits or providing comfort and routine for senior dogs, I focus on creating a safe, loving, and balanced environment where every pet feels secure and understood. I pick up shifts bartending but I cant adjust my schedule around sitting others dogs. I will be free when needed so no worries there. I have a nice size balcony but that the dogs can hangout on if they would like but i also take my girl out often.

Courtney did an excellent job of walking our senior dog, Ernie, for us this morning! She provided great communication, arrived on time and gave Ernie lots of attention. We could tell that Ernie immediately liked Courtney and seemed very comfortable and happy! 🐾💕

Julia is so wonderful! My two pups have really taken to her. They seem to really enjoy their time with her so far. She leaves the best reports and attaches the cutest photos. I feel like we're both getting the very best care! So happy to have found her to love on my precious fur babies while I work long days. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, trustworthy, kind animal whisperer, look no further. She's the real deal!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
