Houda & Fawzi and their lovely family were fantastic with Zoe (3yo pit bull). Their children are amazing with the dogs and there’s so much of their property to roam for Zoe. Zoe was exhausted, well fed and much loved when she came home. Thanks!

Matthew was absolutely amazing with my Bear. I was initially a little nervous to hear how the first walk went given my dog’s fondness of squirrels. Matthew’s confidence, care and warmth toward Bear made him feel at home, like they have known each other forever. I highly recommend and plan on consistently booking. Thank you Matt!!

About: Looking to connect with owners of sweet, gentle dogs! We have two small dogs who are very playful but not pushy, and we'd love to find compatible dog friends. I'm hoping to build a trusted circle where we can help each other with dog sitting when traveling. I can host up to two dogs at a time. Message me if you're interested! 🐾 Self-employed at home. I walk my dogs 2 times during the day and 1 more time before bed. A few times a week, I bring them to Civic Park to socialize with other dogs before dinner. Once a week, I drive them to a nearby nature reserve for a hike. I feed them breakfast and dinner. Same if not more care will be given to your doggies. There are two fenced dog parks in my building that are treated daily with enzymatic chemicals. If your dog has sensitive skin, I will not bring them there to potty.

About: I’ve been caring for animals for over 15 years, both my own and those of family and friends. I’m comfortable with cats and dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments, including pets with specific routines or extra care needs. What sets me apart is the level of attention and care I’m able to provide. I’m flexible, reliable, and don’t have other major obligations, which means your pet will receive my full, undivided attention while they’re with me. I live in a safe, pet-friendly neighborhood in Walnut Creek in a one-story home with a gated backyard and grass, perfect for playtime and relaxation. I also enjoy taking dogs on walks around the neighborhood to keep them active and happy. You can expect a calm, loving, and attentive environment where your pet will be treated like family. My goal is to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your pet! Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, as I currently have full availability and no other work obligations. This allows me to be fully present and attentive, giving each pet the time, care, and consistency they deserve. I’m available most days of the week and can easily accommodate different schedules, routines, and last-minute needs. I’m happy to care for pets both in my home and in my client’s home, depending on your needs. In a client’s home, I make sure to maintain your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. This includes feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, and giving them companionship so they feel comfortable while you’re away. I’m attentive to each pet’s individual personality and needs, whether that means active play and exercise or a more calm, gentle approach for pets who prefer a quieter environment. I’m also happy to follow any specific instructions, including feeding schedules, medications, or special care routines. If caring for pets in my home, they’ll be in a safe, clean, and pet-friendly environment with plenty of attention and supervision throughout the day. I have a fenced backyard with grass, which provides a secure space for dogs to play, explore, and get fresh air. My goal is to make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for, while also giving owners peace of mind knowing their pet is in reliable and loving hands.

About: Positive vibes and sense of adventure make for a happy life. I've always been protective of my pups AND love to encourage exploration. I believe joy is found in a safe home and adventures in the wild (well, at least out and about in our neighborhood!) - Let's go! My schedule is flexible and I am available for day care or overnight stays. I'm attentive to your pup and will make sure there are plenty of opportunities for exercise and snuggles. I have a fenced yard with a pool and would always directly supervise if your pup is outside. Our home is warm and loving. We live in a great neighborhood.

JP did an amazing job with my husky on a last-minute request, he has a beautiful and safe house and large yard. He sent lots of photos so I could see how my boy was doing and I saw all of the activity he was getting with play time and walks. Their dog Arnold is clearly very friendly and was great company. Will rebook with confidence any time

We were worried about leaving our new puppy for the first time, but Alisha set up a Zoom so we could meet her the day before and it was immediately obvious that she would take great care of our little guy. Then, when we dropped him off, he practically jumped into her arms and made himself at home in the space she has set up which is perfect for doggy guests. She sent us updates and pics throughout the evening. We are very glad to have Alisha nearby for the future. I especially appreciate her depth of knowledge -- she is a great resource for those of us who have limited experience with raising puppies!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Alamo commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 5,457 sitters in Alamo, 88% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
