“Jing was a lifesaver, available to watch our three year old English Cocker while we visited our grandchildren. She was waiting for us when we pulled up to her home and seamlessly watched him til we returned about 3 hours later. She sent fun pictures while taking care of him and Murphy seemed very happy when we picked him up. I definitely recommend Jing and will book her again!”

“Highly recommend Dylan! He’s local, super reliable, and great with my puppy, Olivia. He has two small dogs that Olivia absolutely loved playing with, which made her experience even better. It’s great to find a sitter where your pet gets both personal attention and social time.”

“Clara was amazing with our super energetic 10 month old puppy. She was very patient and took really good care of him. She was also very accommodating of my schedule and was willing to work around it. Guduchi looks forward to see his next stay with you.”

“I will definitely be going back! Bandit LOVED being with them. I knew they’d be good sitters when they walked out and the kids and Shawna had researched my dogs breed (Frisian Stabij) that was an immediate sigh of relief and it only went up from there. They were communicative, sent pictures, and so trustworthy. Would recommend !!”

About: Hello! My name is Allie. I’m a lifelong dog lover, owner, and trainer. I come from Washington state where I was raised with dogs of all kinds. For the last few years, I professionally trained and also trained law-enforcement canines. I actively compete with my dog in a sport called Schutzhund. I am extremely confident with all kinds of dogs- from tiny ones, to the giant breeds! If you have a sport dog that you need handled by an experienced working dog handler, I can absolutely help you out. I am an extremely competent and safe handler and look forward to helping you out with your pups! Right now, I am a stay at home dog mom who is always training and working my dog. I have a highly flexible schedule and would love to help you out! I have an awesome yard that your dogs are welcomed to play in on a long line. I also have a very sweet intact male dog who is a friend to all, if your dog likes others! I have crates available if your dog needs one. I exercise and train my dog daily, so your dog’s needs can easily be tended to. I have plenty of experience with working dogs, so I understand the implications of handling them (detection, apprehension, sport). Your pup will be extremely safe and well cared for!
“Our pup’s first day staying with Dyan and her family. He sure seemed to have a good time. Dyan sent several pics and videos of Kitsu on a walk and playing with her kids. It was a “get to know each other” day. He’s going to stay with them again next week while we’re away. Dyan is great with communication and following whatever requests we had for Kitsu.”

“Remi had a great time!!! I’m 9 months pregnant and had a baptism to go to. My dog had a biopsy done a week ago and needed to stay with someone. Sahaila even offered to pick him up to make things easier for me. Remi was walked and seemed so happy in the pictures that were sent!! He had a great time, thank you Sahaila!”

“Houda & Fawzi and their lovely family were fantastic with Zoe (3yo pit bull). Their children are amazing with the dogs and there’s so much of their property to roam for Zoe. Zoe was exhausted, well fed and much loved when she came home. Thanks!”

“Aubrey always sends lots of pupdates and ensures Teddy is happy and safe. When Teddy is in her care I never have to worry because I know she takes great care of him. He is always happy and tired when I pick him up! Thank you so much Aubrey and we can’t wait for more daycare and boarding in the future!”

About: As a dedicated dog parent myself, my unique strengths include senior dog care, dog walking and providing a calm home environment along with custom routines. Pet care is already a core part of my daily rhythm. As a dog parent myself, I start and end most days with walks, so caring for a dog fits naturally into my schedule rather than competing with it. Since I'm currently a homemaker, I have flexible, consistent availability throughout the week — including mornings, midday, and afternoons — which means I can offer reliable, on-time walks rather than squeezing them in around a 9-to-2. I'm looking to build dog walking into a regular part of my week: it keeps me active, gets me outdoors, and lets me connect with neighbors and other pet parents in the community. Because I understand the responsibility of caring for a dog firsthand — from reading their energy level to knowing when they need a slower pace or extra water breaks — I bring the same attentiveness to dogs in my care that I'd want for my own. For dog walking, I focus on safety, routine, and attentiveness. When I arrive at a client's home, I take time to greet the dog calmly and let them warm up to me before heading out, especially on a first visit. During the walk, I keep dogs on a secure leash, follow the pace and route that suits their energy level and age, and stay alert to their body language, other animals, traffic, and weather conditions. I always bring water for longer walks, clean up after the dog every time, and make sure collars, harnesses, and gates are securely fastened before and after each visit. Once the walk is done, I make sure the dog has fresh water available, lock up the home securely, and send the owner a quick update — including photos when I can — so they know their pet is happy and cared for. Because I'm a dog owner myself, I treat every dog in my care the way I'd want someone to treat mine: with patience, close attention, and respect for their individual personality and needs.
About: I have a genuine love for animals and am dedicated to providing personalized, high-quality care that makes every pet feel like family. My experience covers dogs of all breeds and life stages, from high-energy puppies needing socialization to calm seniors requiring a gentler care. I pride myself on being flexible and reliable, ensuring that whether it’s a quick walk or an extended overnight stay, your pet receives the undivided attention they deserve. Your pet’s safety and your peace of mind are my top priorities. I live in a quiet, gated community that is perfect for peaceful, low-traffic walks. To keep you connected while you're away, I utilize an indoor dog camera, allowing for regular check-ins and updates on how your furry friend is settling in. My home is designed to be a sanctuary where pets have plenty of room to roam and explore the house freely, ensuring they never feel confined. The property is a true pet paradise, featuring a private dog park, a secure dog run, and a relaxing private patio for soaking up the sun. I am also highly experienced in senior care and managing specific medical needs. Whether it is administering oral or topical medications or maintaining a strict preventative care routine, I handle every health requirement with the precision and care of a seasoned owner. I am very comfortable with the specific grooming and health needs of breeds like miniature schnauzers and other mixes. I believe in tailoring my approach to every animal's unique temperament. If your pup is a velcro dog who craves constant cuddles, I am happy to provide all the affection they need. if they prefer their alone time and a quiet corner to nap, I respect their boundaries completely. For an added touch of luxury, I offer home bathing and brushing services so your pet can return home feeling fresh and pampered. Beyond dog care, I provide gentle companionship, quiet playtime, and specialized handling for cats. My goal is to create a stress-free environment where every pet—regardless of species or age—feels safe, happy, and loved. I look forward to meeting your best friend and providing them with a premium home-away-from-home experience! I am currently a part time student and I am available in the early mornings and night time for walks, play, visits, or just for company! I am flexible on how you want your furry companion to be cared for, whether it is a walk on your neighborhood or a play in a dog park. Or it could be a quiet time at home!
About: I have experience caring for dogs including my own senior Shih Tzu for 14 years. I currently offer daily walks, drop-in visits, overnight boarding, and in-home pet sitting. I’m comfortable with feeding routines, potty breaks, playtime, and giving dogs the attention and calm presence they need while their owners are away. I also make sure pets stay on their usual schedule as much as possible so they feel safe and settled. Whether it’s a quick visit during the day, a walk to get energy out, or staying overnight, I focus on being reliable, patient, and attentive to each dog’s personality and needs. About my schedule: Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I am available full-time. My flexible schedule allows me to provide dependable, consistent and attentive care while ensuring each pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for throughout their time with me. We have a large fenced balcony at first floor. Also a big area in our community with natural grass perfect for play and potty breaks.
About: I have had pets since I was a child, including cats and dogs. My family and I have had our current cat and prior cats from kittens, and our Golden Retriever Arnold since he was a puppy. I have the option of working at home full-time, and spending time cuddling your fur baby or taking him or her for walks and/or runs. I have a fenced yard and a friendly golden to keep your dog entertained and show him/her the ropes. I am happy to have a lap dog, or a more active dog who likes to fetch, swim, walk, or run.

About: I have grown up with dogs most of my life and have experience taking care of cats, rabbits, turtles, and fish. My experience with dogs includes: training, dog walking, and administering medication. I have a 5 1/2 year old mini double doodle named Kota and trained him myself. I pride myself on providing quality animal care and want to make sure your pet is safe and happy during their time with me. Currently I am taking a sabbatical and have plenty of time to take care of your pup! Depending on your preference and your dog's needs, I can provide plenty of physical activity and mental stimulation. I am happy to take care of your pet in your home and do daily walks. Please let me know if your pet is comfortable around other dogs. If they're not, I can easily leave my dog at home while I focus on your pet's needs.
“JP did an amazing job with my husky on a last-minute request, he has a beautiful and safe house and large yard. He sent lots of photos so I could see how my boy was doing and I saw all of the activity he was getting with play time and walks. Their dog Arnold is clearly very friendly and was great company. Will rebook with confidence any time”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - San Ramon
Pluto came back home so happy, relaxed, and full of smiles after spending the day with Dylan and his pups! 😊.. Dylan kept us updated throughout the day with photos and messages, so we knew how Pluto was doing.. Thank you again for taking care of him—we really appreciate it!

Our pup’s first day staying with Dyan and her family. He sure seemed to have a good time. Dyan sent several pics and videos of Kitsu on a walk and playing with her kids. It was a “get to know each other” day. He’s going to stay with them again next week while we’re away. Dyan is great with communication and following whatever requests we had for Kitsu.

This is a very nice family that kindly looked after our girls for a few hours while we attended an out of town event. We were sent multiple pictures of them while we were away. My girls were fed their dinner and taken for a walk. They were petted and played with and thoroughly cared for by the family.

Jing’s place was nice and clean. The front yard had several safety gates available so it reassured me my puppy wouldn’t run off into the street as young dogs can get excited. It was our puppy’s first time going to doggy daycare so I also didn’t know what to expect. We provided our dog food, which he didn’t eat because he doesn’t typically eat during the time we booked but wanted to make sure he had a backup in case needed. My puppy is house trained so I asked if he had any accidents, Jing stared he didn’t. He also had some time outside in the fenced backyard to sniff and play.

Anna and Shudipto took excellent care of our 2 rambunctious dogs. They took the time to meet with us ahead of time so we would feel comfortable, which shows how much they care! The dogs were wagging their tails when they saw them again for daycare! 😊 Thank you!

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
