“Ayla is professional and friendly and definitely loves animals. This was the first time we have ever used a sitting service and I am glad we chose Ayla. We will be using her again. Thank you, Ayla.”

About: Hi there! I’m a lifelong dog lover with years of experience caring for furry friends, and I’m excited to help your pup feel happy and loved while you’re away. Though I recently had to be separated from my own dog, I’ve been surrounded by dogs my whole life, so I know how to give them attention, comfort, and fun. Whether it’s a quick visit, a long walk, or overnight care, I treat every dog like a part of the family. I’d love to meet your pup and provide the care, attention, and companionship they deserve! I work from home in a pet-friendly community, so your dog will get plenty of walks, cuddles, and attention all day. I have a flexible schedule if provided with enough notice. I prioritize safety, trust, and a happy environment for every dog. Since I don’t currently have any pets, your pup will have my full attention! I provide walks, cuddles, and supervision in a secure, pet-friendly space. Whether in my home or yours, I follow your rules and routines exactly, treating your dog and your home with the same love and respect I would my own.
“Sahar took wonderful care of our little cat and did everything we asked. She arrived on time, followed all of our feeding instructions, and kept the litter box clean. We would happily have Sahar pet sit for us again and highly recommend her!”

“Jessica is a trustworthy and committed sitter that made my animals feel loved and well taken care of. I can tell from the pictures of her playing ball with my dogs that they were in heaven with all the attention she was giving them. Great communication and easy-going with great energy.”

“Jordan is very trust worthy and reliable. Took great care of our precious Mya Dog for a week. I think she missed him when we returned! Highly recommend him as a sitter.”

“I had some last-minute plans come up and urgently needed someone to look after my dog. Nicole was incredibly accommodating, stepping in on short notice, and went above and beyond to make sure my dog was well cared for. When booking, I accidentally selected the dog check-in service instead of the dog sitter option. I reached out to Nicole about the mix-up, and she was incredibly understanding. She was very flexible and kindly allowed me to adjust my request. Overall, Nicole was truly amazing and I couldn't have asked for a better sitter!”

“Lindsay was great to work with and our dog Leia loved working and walking with her. Lindsay was extremely prompt, showing up at the exact minute that we had scheduled. She was very patient getting to know our dog and we knew our dog would be in good hands seeing how much time she took to get to know our dog and her quirks. I won't hesitate to hire Lindsay again or recommend her to anyone who needs dog walking.”

“Yuran and Jax immediately connected. Jax can be slow to warm up but he made it clear she was "in the pack." Yuran is a great communicator and sent updates and photos. Jax is looking forward to more walks with Yuran and I'm happy to have a reliable person to help with him.”

About: I grew up with two dogs, so I’ve been surrounded by wagging tails, happy zoomies, and endless cuddles since I was little. Now I’m also a proud cat parent—which means I’m equally comfortable with playful pups and independent little feline bosses 😄 I genuinely love spending time with animals and getting to know their unique personalities. Whether your pet wants a long walk, an energetic play session, a quiet companion, or lots of belly rubs, I’ll make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I work fully from home and have a flexible schedule, so pet care fits easily into my daily routine. I’m able to adjust my day around feeding times, playtime, walks, litter box care, and check-ins. For drop-in visits, I’ll coordinate with you in advance to choose a time that works best for both you and your pet. I’ll carefully follow your instructions and your pet’s usual routine, including feeding, fresh water, playtime, litter box care, or any other needs. I’ll also make sure your home is secure before I leave and send you updates and photos, so you know your pet is safe, comfortable, and well cared for.
About: I have taken care of dogs and cats ever since I was 14 years old. I enjoy taking dogs on walks and lounging around with cats! I like to go on walks in the morning and sometimes at night, so this is a perfect time to get a dog walk in! I ensure they are safely in their crates in necessary, feed them at the appropriate time, take them outside if needed, and enjoy spending time with them.
“Aubrey did an amazing job with Penny. She kept her visits interesting and even braved the rain and muddy dog for games of fetch in the back yard. We will definitely hire her again!”

About: I grew up in the rural countryside of France, surrounded by animals, especially dogs. From a young age, I learned how to care for dogs of all sizes and temperaments, helping with feeding, walking, grooming, and companionship. Since moving to the US seven years ago, I’ve continued caring for neighbors’, friends’, and family members’ pets, earning their trust through reliable, attentive care. I understand that each dog has unique needs and personality, and I’m committed to providing the same love and attention I’d give my own pets. Your furry family member will be in experienced, caring hands. I currently am a UNLV student and work part-time as a peer mentor on campus. My schedule is busier on Tuesdays and Thursdays with classes and work, but I have significant flexibility throughout the week and on weekends. I can easily accommodate pet care around my academic schedule, and I’m happy to discuss specific timing needs to ensure your pet receives consistent, reliable care. I prioritize creating a safe, comfortable environment for every pet in my care. I follow all specific instructions provided by owners regarding feeding schedules, medications, exercise routines, and behavioral needs. I ensure pets are supervised appropriately, keep doors and gates secured, and maintain a clean space. I’m attentive to each pet’s comfort level and body language, giving them space when needed while providing plenty of affection and engagement. I keep owners updated with photos and messages so they have peace of mind knowing their pet is happy and well-cared for.

“I met Surjit in the Peace Corps and since day one she’s shown a tremendous quality of being a dependable friend. She’s charismatic, she’s thoughtful, and she’s an extremely loving caretaker. When my dog Darwin first met her, his eyes lit up and his pupils went wide with love for her as they continue to do so every time they get together and forget I’m even there. She’s one of the very few people who I trust enough to take care of Darwin and they continue to bond in a way I don’t really see with other people since, even though my dog is very cute, I think he knows it and can be a bit antisocial and aloof. But Surjit sees him and fully accepts him for who he is, as I see her do with all pets in her life. I happily endorse Surjit because I know that she does not just see your pet as a dog or a cat, she sees them as individuals with their own personalities, fears, habits, wants, and needs. I happily endorse Surjit because I know that she will, without a doubt, go above and beyond and take care of your pet like she takes care of her own family and friends.”

“Yvette was prompt, attentive, and very professional. I got daily check-in pics and my dog was very happy to have someone to walk with. It was a great match because she was also house sitting for one of my dog’s buddies, and they got to hang out together. Definitely recommend.”
About: Woof Woof Woof Meow Meow Meow I have pet sat for friends and family and would love to extend that service to my bay area neighbors. Love taking dogs for walks or to the local parks such as Fort Funston or McLaren Park. I have a skittish indoor cat, Spikey(5yr American shorthair), who is initially very shy but usually warms up to people. Checking in on cats and cleaning litter boxes is not new to me. Just want to treat your fur baby with the love, care and respect I would use to treat my own fur babies. Woof Woof Woof Meow Meow Meow I have partial work from home schedule, going into the office 2-3 days a week. Commute time is only 5 mins to Oyster Point in SSF, so can easily pop back in for a lunch time walk if needed. Your fur babies will have free roam of the living room with views of the bay and any birds outside. Best if puppies are crate trained for the night. If you are dropping off multiple pets I can separately feed them if needed.
About: Over the past 10 years, I have frequently helped My neighbors and friends watch and take of their pets when they are out of town. I WFH almost everyday and live in a great neighborhood with close local parks. I am super communicative, honest, and can handle big dogs if need be! I work Tues and Wed in office, but all other days I work from home! I have availability to walk, take dog for grooming, host your pet etc etc. I live in a 2 bed apartment, we have the whole kitchen area open to setup kennels or play areas if need be. I live very close to downtown Walnut Creek next to all the chill spots and areas.
About: I have more than 15 years of pet sitting experience. I used to do this work together with my mom. It's such a blessing to win the hearts of the pets we're able to take care of. I am also a Reiki Master and can give healings to your pets. I love walking dogs, and feel it's important to give them the amount of exercise they desire to be happy. Sadly my mother is no longer here to do this work as a team with me but I feel fully qualified to do this work individually for you. I've worked with dogs of all ages and sizes and have no fear of large dogs, nor do I fear working with old or ill pets. I hope we'll be able to meet and work together soon.

Ayla took care of our two cats once again, and as always, she did an amazing job. She was always on time for every visit and handled giving medication to one of our cats with great care and confidence. After each visit, she sent us a detailed update along with photos, which gave us complete peace of mind knowing our cats were happy and well cared for. We truly appreciated her reliability, professionalism, and genuine love for animals. We wholeheartedly recommend Ayla to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!

Nicole was fantastic with my 2 cats! I have one cat that is diabetic and happens to be rather mean and the other who is scared of his own shadow. Charlie would hiss and swipe at her and Enzo would hide and not eat. Nicole was so patient with both of them to ensure they were fed and Charlie got his shot. Nicole was great with communicating with me to try to ensure they were fed and well cared for even though they didn't make it easy on her. Also, due to the diabetes being timely is important and Nicole was on time every day, twice a day while we were gone. I would highly recommend Nicole as a pet sitter!

Highly recommended! Exceptionally professional and caring. Shiyin provided top-notch care for my cat. She was punctual, highly communicative, and followed all feeding and care instructions perfectly. My cat warmed up to her almost instantly. Look no further if you want peace of mind while you are away. 5 stars all the way! Thank you for your service.

Yuran and Jax immediately connected. Jax can be slow to warm up but he made it clear she was "in the pack." Yuran is a great communicator and sent updates and photos. Jax is looking forward to more walks with Yuran and I'm happy to have a reliable person to help with him.

Highly recommend Maya! Maya provided drop-in visits for our two dogs and four rabbits, and everything went smoothly. Communication was great throughout, she was always prompt, and it was clear our pets were well cared for. We really appreciated the reliability and attention. We will be booking Maya again.
My husband and I were thrilled with Lindsay and her obvious and genuine care for our cats Foxy and Maizy. It was also very clear that our cats felt comfortable with Lindsay. We were both a bit hesitant about having a cat sitter and Lindsay certainly erased any concern that we had. Lindsay sent loving comments and beautiful pictures of our dear Cats. She made certain that things were left in good order and clean. Thank you, Lindsay.

Brooke just took care of our 3 cats and did a fantastic job. She was here on each day we requested, sent photos and made sure our fur babies had everything they needed including some much needed affection. She is really great with animals. I highly recommend her.

We had a wonderful experience leaving our cat fur a day while having Zi check in on him twice. I was quite wary of letting a stranger into my house while we were away but after meeting Zi at our scheduled meet and greet, all my fears were set aside as she was very sweet and loving towards Billy Bob, our cat. She visited on time and sent pictures and communicated during and after the visits. I’ll definitely look her up again next time we need a pet sitter!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
