âVicki always does a great job taking care of my dog and she keeps me posted throughout my dogâs stay. I can tell from her pictures that my dog feels safe and comfortable with her.â

âExcellent stay! Easy to communicate with and so grateful that they had availability last minute when my baby Moo needed a safe place while my fire alarms were worked on. Thank you! Will use again!â

âNicole was a great day care for my dog today! We arranged a little meet and greet the weekend before, which was such an amazing touch. My doggy came back happy! I would definitely reach out to Nicole again :)â

âMarien was a blessing to our fur baby Guapo. She was so kind and patient and really took care of him. He looked so happy and really enjoyed himself! We are super thankful for her and think sheâs amazing. I havenât let anyone watch him yet alone itâs my first time leaving him and she made it so seamless. Neither of us were anxious about the experience. đ I highly recommend Marien.â

âBarsha was absolutely amazing! This was my first time using Rover for my 11 month old Havanese-Shih Tzu-Poodle mix (Puka) and Barsha made it so easy. Her communication was insanely quick when I sent a last minute day care request and she explained how it all worked. The day of day care was amazing, I got tons of pictures and videos and when I picked Puka up she was so happy! Barsha felt like family immediately and I will be using her again for Puka's care!â

âSarah is amazing! We just completed our first doggy day care ever with our 4 year old frenchie and it could not have gone more perfect. Sarah has been super responsive and flexible from the get-go. We started out with a meet and greet, and doggy day care session before we do boarding just to acclimate our pup for staying with someone new. I was a little anxious about leaving my boy, but Sarah calmed my nerves by providing updates and pictures throughout the day. He had a blast with her and slept all the way home! I can confidently say I 100% trust her to watch our boy again (and Iâm very picky about who we leave him with.) Very grateful to have found her!â

âNamrata, took care of my Kona. Kona is usually with me and very attached and takes a moment to warm up. Namrata kept me updated and sent me pictures. She was also flexible and kind. I will definitely be bringing Kona back.â

âStephanie was so great. It was Dewieâs first time being watched by someone other than family but he seemed comfortable and happy and was very happy to receive a treat bone to chew on. Great experience.â

âI reached out to Mia last minute as our regular sitter fell threw. She quickly responded to my request and was great with our maltipoo pups. They were calm and happy after we picked them up. Thank you, Mia!â

âUlunma was incredibly flexible with her schedule to accommodate mine! She texted me pics and updates throughout my dogs stay and her husband and son were just as friendly. I felt super at ease leaving my baby in their care and would definitely recommend her!â
âJennifer was very responsive and accommodating. I accidentally booked the wrong date, but in our text conversation, I had discussed the correct dates with her. On the correct day of the date I needed her to watch my dog, I called her frantically thinking that she wouldnât be available since I booked a different date, but she was accommodating and changed the date to the correct one. Sheâs located near Dodge Ridge, so we dropped my dog off early in the morning and went snowboarding then picked him up on the way home. Very convenient. I have an old dog that requires special care like medicine, special food, diapers, anxiety, and etc and she followed my detailed instructions very well. My pup also seemed to enjoy being under her care despite his anxiety. Will be happy to bring him back!â
About: I grew up with two dogsâa Chow Chow and a German Shepherd/Collie mixâand caring for them helped shape my lifelong love of dogs. As a kid, I also helped my mom with her dog walking business, which gave me early hands-on experience working with dogs of different sizes, temperaments, and energy levels. In my 20s, I regularly cared for friendsâ and roommatesâ dogs while they were traveling, and over the past 10 years Iâve continued dog sitting as a trusted side business. Through that experience, Iâve become comfortable caring for a wide range of personalities and routines, and I always aim to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. About a year ago, I adopted my dog from the Oakland SPCA, and through their training classes Iâve learned a great deal about dog behavior, communication, and care. I believe strongly in positive reinforcement and science-backed training methods that help dogs feel confident, safe, and understood. When caring for a dog, my priority is building trust and creating a calm, secure environment where they can feel comfortable. I understand that every dog has a different personality, energy level, and comfort zone, so I try to meet them where they are with patience, consistency, and kindness. Whether your dog is playful and energetic or more shy and cautious, Iâll make sure they feel cared for and respected. I work from home and have a flexible schedule, which allows me to easily incorporate pet care into my daily routine. Iâm available for walks before work, during lunch breaks, and in the evenings, and Iâm able to provide consistent attention and companionship throughout the day. If Iâm boarding a dog, they wonât be left alone for long periods of time and will get plenty of love, supervision, playtime, and potty breaks throughout the day. I genuinely enjoy having dogs around, so making them feel comfortable, cared for, and part of the routine comes naturally to me. I have a cozy, dog-friendly apartment and a very friendly, playful Labrador Retriever mix who enjoys the company of other dogs. I prioritize creating a calm, safe, and comfortable environment where dogs can settle in and feel at home. Thereâs a small dog park in my building thatâs great for quick potty breaks and late-night outings when needed. On a typical day, my dog and I go on an hour-long walk during my lunch break, followed by a longer outing to the park after work. When caring for other dogs, I adjust routines based on their needs to make sure theyâre getting the right amount of activity, attention, and relaxation. When caring for pets in a clientâs home, I aim to keep their routine as consistent as possible so they feel comfortable and secure while their owner is away. Iâm attentive to feeding schedules, exercise needs, medications if needed, and any specific instructions, and I always make sure to communicate with the owner as often as they want.
âMonica went above and beyond to give Angel a wonderful stay. She has a lovely home and she sent me videos to reassure me of Angel's well being. Angel returned home in a relaxed and happy state.â

âCasey and Sara are so friendly and accommodating of my special needs dog (allergies/separation anxiety). Stanley had a great time with them, their adorable pup and their two guest dogs. I will definitely book them again!â

About: I am a responsible and caring pet lover who enjoys spending time with animals. While I donât have professional pet-sitting experience, I have helped care for pets of friends and family, including feeding, walking, playing, and providing companionship. I am patient, reliable, and will treat your pets with the same care and attention I would give my own. I am a stay-at-home mom with a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide reliable and attentive care throughout the day. I spend most of my time at home or running local errands, so I can easily fit pet visits, walks, feeding, and playtime into my routine. My partner also has a flexible schedule and is happy to help when needed, allowing us to provide consistent care and attention for your pets. Your petâs safety and comfort are my top priorities. I will follow your instructions carefully regarding feeding, exercise, medications, and routines to help your pet feel secure and comfortable. I understand that every pet has different needs and personalities, and I will provide patient, loving care while keeping you updated with photos and messages. I treat every pet as if they were my own and strive to create a safe, stress-free experience.
âDarren and his family welcomed us with warmth and kindness. We are nervous first time dog owners and were unsure how this new experience would go. Everything was clean and safe. Our pup immediately felt at home with Darren and his family. Darren was thoughtful, diligent, and practical when we talked about our dog's care needs. Our pup enjoyed walks, and got her regular meals and naps. When we picked her up, she was playing and happy. Her mood was great the rest of the night. We look forward to many more doggy daycare days with Darren and his family!â

âAiko has been incredibly patient with our Millie, a rescue who takes a long time to warm up to new people. Aiko's warmth and genuine love for dogs is evident every time we interact with her. We feel so lucky to have found her!â

We had the absolute best experience with Anastasiia doing day care for our 2 year old Cavapoo. From the very beginning, she were kind, communicative, thoughtful, and clearly so loving with dogs. Our pup was cared for like family, and we felt completely at ease knowing they were in such good hands. We received great updates, our dog was happy and relaxed when we returned, and it was obvious Anastasiia had been given so much attention, affection, and care. It is such a gift to find someone you can truly trust with your pet, and we could not recommend her more highly. We would absolutely book again in a heartbeat!
Marien was a blessing to our fur baby Guapo. She was so kind and patient and really took care of him. He looked so happy and really enjoyed himself! We are super thankful for her and think sheâs amazing. I havenât let anyone watch him yet alone itâs my first time leaving him and she made it so seamless. Neither of us were anxious about the experience. đ I highly recommend Marien.

Sarah was awesome watching our Sugar for a few hours. She was very communicative and we appreciated the pupdates. Sugar clearly had a blast playing and we were relieved she was so well taken care of. We wouldnât definitely reach out to Sarah next time weâre in town to watch our fur baby.

Sarah is fantastic. She's extremely responsive and personable on top of being an experienced and knowledgeable dog caretaker. She noticed and updated me on nuances of my dog's behavior throughout the day in terms of how she got along with the others and seemed to be settling in. Knowing my dog, I can tell Sarah was really paying attention and was spot on in her observations. My dog came home relaxed with a wagging tail and was excited to go back for the second day!

Weâve had a great experience with Xenia. She takes excellent care of Joey and I always feel confident heâs safe, happy, and well looked after. She communicates clearly, is friendly and professional, and itâs obvious she genuinely loves dogs. I highly recommend Xenia to anyone looking for a sitter they can trust.

Chloe was absolutely wonderful with Pepper! From the start, she was kind, reliable, and clearly very experienced with dogs. She made pepper feel comfortable, safe, and cared for, which gave me real peace of mind. She kept me updated, followed instructions carefully, and treated Pepper like her own. I could tell he was happy and relaxed with her, which says everything. I would 100% trust Chloe again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a responsible and caring sitter. Thank you, Chloe!

Patrick and Journey had the BEST time at Barbaraâs. They got to roam all over their house and yard and were spoiled with cuddles and naps. Barbara and her family are clearly dog lovers, and even sent a ton of updates to let me know what they were up to. I highly recommend and will definitely book again!

Melissa and Samuel did great with my husky! They did a great meet and greet with their dog and asked the right questions about my boyâs routine. I could tell their experience and competence. I got updated throughout the day and I picked up a happy and tired dog, which is no easy feat with my husky. One of the best experiences Iâve had on Rover with very trustworthy and responsible sitters. Will be rebooking!

Perrin loves Audrey! This was his second time hanging out with her, and he immediately ran right up to her and seemed to forget all about us đđ He had a great evening, and we really appreciate Audreyâs availability even though our request was last-minute!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your petâwhether thatâs early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Saranap commute.
If your schedule changes, itâs best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dogâs fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0â7 kilograms and/or 7â18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pupâs socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dogâs pack, check the sitterâs profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dogâs vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitterâs care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, youâre adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
