“Julia is absolutely wonderful. My pups were well taken care of, and I got daily pictures and updates which is always appreciated! She went above and beyond and washed the sheets and remade the bed before she left. Highly recommended her services!”

“Tatyana took great care of our dog, Cooper, while staying at our home during our trip. She followed all of our instructions, and it was reassuring to know he was in good hands. We're grateful for her help and would happily recommend her to others.”

“We loved having Vivian around. She came to our place while me and my husband were traveling and took really good care of our dogs. She texted us everyday and let us know how everything was going. She also left the house tidy and everything in order. We’ll definitely contact her to stay here again on our next trip. Thanks Vivian”

“We were very nervous to leave our pup for a week. Since Covid, we haven’t been apart from him very much. Jessica was reassuring from the beginning. She took such good care of our sweet pup! We got daily updates, photos and Jessica was quick to reply anytime we texted. We could tell that Gus was comfortable and loved having Jessica with him. We have already rebooked for another week in July! We highly recommend Jessica for your pet sitting needs!”

“Halona is wonderful! She is now our go-to walker and house sitter. Halona has taken our 100 lb American Bulldog on many walks, and has stayed at our home while we go on vacation, including a 10 day trip. She is friendly, always on time, and 100% trustworthy. And of course our dog absolutely adores her! We did lots of research and interviewed many candidates, she is the best by far. So happy to have found her!”

“Angie was great. She was very responsive and kept us updated throughout the entire time she took care of both our pups. The pups were healthy and happy and our home was kept clean. We would have her house sit for us again.”

“Rebecca stayed with our elderly dog and we can tell she was very well taken care of. I appreciated her updates and photos would definitely recommend and book with her again!”

“Rachael rearranged her plans at the last minute to spend the weekend with Izzy and Thor, and I couldn’t be more grateful. She went above and beyond to make sure they were cared for and happy!!”

“Megan stayed at our place with Bunker for a week. She was professional, followed care instructions, sent many cute pictures and kept us in the loop with updates on how things were going the entire time. She also cleaned up after leaving which was much appreciated. Highly recommend!”

About: Growing up with an adorable mixed shelter dog and introducing an adopted King Charles Spaniel into the family, I learned how to care for both high and low energy dogs. Pet sitting for family and friends, I got to take care of puppies and senior dogs and learned the importance of a good schedule for things like naps and appropriate medications. My schedule is fairly open, primarily Monday through Friday, during the workweek, and is very flexible to make room for any walks, play time, or food breaks during the day. Pet safety is my top priority and ensuring a clean area is an important responsibility. I will provide personalized in-home care to keep your pets comfortable and entertained while they are in my care.
“We feel so lucky to have found Shanley! Our dog absolutely loved her and we felt very at ease leaving him in her care. Shanley was super engaged, responsiveness, provided lots of updates, and was very respectful of our home. We definitely recommend and hope she’ll take care of our pup again in the future!”

“As always, Myra provided generous and attentive care to our dog over a holiday weekend. Myra brings experience, good judgment and genuine affection to every dog-sitting engagement. Highly recommend her!”

“Virginia was a lifesaver! We needed a dog/house sitter last minute, and she gladly accepted without hesitation. She even showed up at 5 AM when we were panicking about our puppy Chico barking and the neighbors possibly complaining. That alone already meant so much to us. She took such great care of Chico, played with him, kept him entertained, and he genuinely seemed to have an amazing time with her. We came home to a happy pup and a clean house, which says everything about how thoughtful and responsible she is. We’re super grateful for her help and would absolutely book her again. Highly recommended! 💛🐾”

“Erica was awesome! ! She was on time and friendly! We were able to get her on short notice on a Holiday weekend! When we returned our pups were happy and relaxed and sad to see her go! Our dogs have a new Bestie in Oregon 👍”

“Christine was wonderful and kept me informed with everything that was going on at my house. When I got home, the dogs were calm, which to me is a good sign of a caring sitter.”

About: I’ve spent years caring for others through nannying and customer service roles, so being dependable, attentive, and patient comes naturally to me. I have experience working at a veterinary hospital as a receptionist and have done pet sitting for a few years now. I truly love being around animals and make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I also enjoy staying active with walks, playtime, and giving pets plenty of companionship and affection. I'm currently working part time so my schedule is very flexible at the moment. I'm hoping to mainly focus on building my pet sitting business. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I do my best to keep their routine as normal and comfortable as possible. I follow all feeding, walking, medication, and care instructions carefully while making sure pets get plenty of attention, playtime, and companionship. I understand that being away from their owners can be stressful for some pets, so I focus on creating a calm, safe, and loving environment while keeping owners updated with messages and photos.
About: Been around dogs my whole life! Friends and family have relied on me to love and care for their dogs when they aren’t able to! Love doggos and just looking for some fun ones to spend time with :) I just moved here to join my husband and just want to fill the part of the days when I’m bored! I love getting out and walking, thought having a new companion with just me or with Dax too would be a blast! I will care for your pets in anyway you need! Great at following directions and will take care of your pet as if it were my own.
“Savannah watched our dog, Bruce, for a few days while we were out of town. Bruce has a kind heart but can be wary/temperamental with strangers. Not only did Savannah hit it off with Bruce immediately, she took excellent care of both our boy and our house. She followed all instructions and left the house spotless. Bruce even had a stomach issue while we were gone and Savannah went above and beyond in cleaning it up and making sure Bruce was okay. She gave us constant updates while we were gone and Bruce was so happy to have her around. Savannah has a delightful, calm, and attentive personality, and Bruce thrived in her company. We had absolutely no worries with Bruce in her care, we were able to relax on our vacation, and would have Savannah back in a heartbeat. Bruce and our whole family are so thankful to have met her!!”

“Aida did an excellent job staying with Frankie at my home!! She is a great communicator, and I could tell Frankie was very comfortable with her. I will absolutely be asking her for help again in the future!! I am so glad that I found you Aida!”

“Courtney took such great care of our fur babies and our home. She was our housesitter and stayed overnight with our two dogs and cat. Our youngest dog was nervous and refused to eat, but Courtney didn’t panic and was very communicative with us. We have already booked her again!”

We have used Courtney several times in the past as our dog Bear loves her and we feel very comfortable with having Courtney at our house. Bear is a very large energetic German Shepard mix who can be a handful. Everytime we have Courtney watch him, my family thinks he is calmer when we return. This time we had Courtney housesit while we were away in Hawaii for 8 days and couldn't be happier. She was very communicative about our dog and cats. And was even able to give our cat with an ear infection antibiotic ear drops twice a day without issue. She was also very insightful and proactice ordering cat food to be delivered when she knew we would run out on the day we would return quite late. As usual we returned to a very clean well kept house. Courtney is a very respectful house guest who leaves the house in perfect order.

Vicki is seriously amazing, she sent pics and videos throughout the day with Dexter and he just loves her so much! We’re always so cautious and nervous leaving Dexter with people we don’t really know but we knew since the meet and greet that she would be perfect. We are 100% planning to keep using her.

Kelly is one of a kind! First, she took the time and effort to meet up with us before the sit to make sure everything was clear and comfortable. She is very communicative (sent photos and updates regularly) and timely in her responses regarding scheduling. Murray was happy and calm when we got home, and the house was perfect. I never once felt anxious with Kelly at the house with him. Thank you Kelly!

Matt did a wonderful job with our 2 senior dogs He really loves the dogs we booked house sitting dog sitting overnights at our house. He even sent photos of our happy dogs hanging out with him on the family room couch We would highly recommend recommend him without any reservations!

Michelle was hands down the best with our Zoey girl. She was very detail oriented, loving towards our pup, incredibly knowledgeable on best care practices for our fur baby, and simply such a kind person to be around. 100% going to be leaning on her as a support for our dog in the future :)

Megan was wonderful taking care of my dog, Teddy, and staying at my house for a long weekend. I could tell Teddy was a happy boy and getting lots of snuggles and attention. Megan had no trouble giving Teddy his medicine, and she was responsive and communicative. I’ll definitely ask her to care for Teddy in the future!
We had the pleasure of hiring Elaine again during our 18-day trip, and she was absolutely wonderful. She took exceptional care of our little dog, who requires a lot of attention and affection. Elaine sent us daily updates, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. When we returned home, we found a clean house and, most importantly, a happy and healthy dog. We feel very lucky to have found Elaine and would not hesitate to recommend her. We look forward to working with her again in the future.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Saranap on Rover is $56.13 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 8,868 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Saranap. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Saranap walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Saranap maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Saranap choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Saranap. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
